Shortcuts

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in articles for deletion" debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

  • Not done The language is fairly promotional and while I'm having some trouble bringing the website up, it appears that at least part of it is directly taken or paraphrased from this website. I can e-mail you a copy of the material and you can re-work it to remove the promotional tones and WP:COPYVIO, but I don't think it should be restored in its prior state. Thank-you Tokyogirl for your reply. I've emailed back-- The copyright violation does not exist because I am the author of the GNC bio-- I gave permission to George's personal assistant to use it. I agree that it all still needs to be rewritten-- and the promotional pieces removed especially regarding Impact Murals. Etc. @WebspinnerLlewellyn: we can't accept copyrighted material on the basis that someone on the end of a wire says they wrote it. It needs a formal copyright release, as explained at WP:Donating copyrighted materials. In any case, as pointed out above, this would need rewriting, so better start from scratch. Draft: Fleetwood Joiner

Request for more time to work on the page. Mr. Joiner is an architect and just completed the restoration of the famous, "Ennis House" originally built by Frank Lloyd Wright in the city of Los Angeles. Fleetwood has done a great deal of work and I am awaiting approval of the owner of Ennis House to use both his and Mr. Joiner's name in the Wiki article. The owner of this home is somewhat of a recluse billionaire and shuns the limelight. This owner also purchased a major historical property in Palm Springs that Mr. Joiner will be restoring. This will be a useful contribution to Wikipedia, I am just waiting for approvals from this owner. Thank You. @ANKMALI:  Not done You wrote "uploading a free file from somebody else" and gave a link to a Twitter page, but that does not prove that the actual copyright holder (probably the photographer) has agreed to release it under a free license. If you follow the procedure at Commons:Commons:OTRS, you can use the Commons:Special:UploadWizard to upload it to Commons, where it will be available to other Wikipedias as well as this one. I searched online to find his YouTube page has nearly 100 million views and 100,000 subscribers. This rationally tells me that his work is notable to many people.

From the previous citations on the deleted page page his work for Smashing Pumpkins, Akon, Eve, Sarah Bareilles, Megadeth, Snoop Dogg, Shiny Toy Guns and Metric is notable by community standards. He has been nominated for the best video music video award at the MMVA's on Much Music in Canada, Best Rock video & Best Video with a message at the MTV VMA's as well which was cited on the old page.

I believe in total the notability is very much established. Note the length of time this page was active with users updating & adding additional news/entries and pages for the name "Robby Starbuck" are included on various foreign countries wiki or encyclopedia sites.

  • Not done Sonyalea11, you removed the tags from the article, which is still existent on Wikipedia. Normally you're not supposed to do that with a speedy deletion, but since this is a G13 this isn't as much of an issue as it would otherwise be. The only thing you need to do at this point is work on improving the article. I do have to warn you that Wikipedia discourages people from writing about themselves on Wikipedia, even through AfC, so I heavily recommend that you get someone from the WP:TEAHOUSE to help you write the article. I may take a look at the article to see if I can help clean it up. Now the other warning I have is that if the article is cleaned up and accepted, you should not edit it to re-add information to the article or do anything other than maybe make some very basic edits like adding new books to a list. The reason for this is that your AfC draft almost got nominated for deletion as spam - but the declining editor decided to give you a chance. Adding a lot of info to the page makes it more likely that you may make it promotional, which can result in the page getting nominated for deletion. @Kharkiv07: Not done and will not be done. You will have to respond to that ORTS ticket that we will absolutely not restore that content regardless of their permission. It wasn;t deleted just for copyright violation. The text is so promotional in tone that it would never be acceptable in the main article space. They need to be told clearly and unequivocally that Wikipedia is not to be used for promotional or publicity purposes, ever. If they want to try again from scratch, they may do so, but not in main article space. The file was moved to commons and deleted from EN:WP 23 June 2012. This and several other files have been deleted because of Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Kylie Minogue text logos but this file is used on EN:WP as the portal image so I noticed the missing file flagged on several pages. Could it be checked if it would be allowable to be refunded here under the local rules? Obviously this is just a speculative request as I don't know what the image was exactly or the license details to determine if this is an allowable request. Mi9cal does not seem to understand copyright, wiki editing in general and has a likely COI on this page (user name similar to Journal editor name). @Amitie 10g: The permission is not valid. I would want more than a permission from some random gmail account before restoring. The declaration of consent was sent by the uploader, but the deleted file page says that "Suzanne Stone Johnson" (someone else) gave permission for the image, which would mean that the uploader is not the photographer who holds the copyright.
There may not be a problem, though, since the OTRS message says it's a photo of Alfred E. Stone who died in 1908, so the photo is at least 70 years old (and it would be unlikely that the photographer is still alive to give permission). Therefore it may be public domain, but I am not sure (there may be a dependency on whether the photo was previously published). In particular, it needs references showing significant coverage about the centre in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, to establish Wikipedia:Notability. I will put some advice on the author's talk page.

@Burgundywine: "Long history"? For a club formed in 2006? There is no requirement for references to be online, but you must still cite them, and if it's mentioned only in that one book, the club still wouldn't qualify under WP:CORP, which requires multiple sources that provide significant coverage, not just a profile in a niche-topic encyclopedia whose purpose is to describe everything about Polo in Britain, even clubs that are not notable by Wikipedia standards.
This request is no Declined. The proper procedure is to inquire whether the deleting admin Randykitty would be willing to restore it. We can't restore articles by request on this page, when the article was deleted in accordance with WP:CSD#A7. What little I know about The Salsa Center Company is that for a brief time in the mid-90's it offered a very well curated catalog of rare post-Revolution Cuban music, licensed from Egrem. To this day, much of the music they made available is difficult, even impossible to find in any format other than their CD's (which are long out of print). For this reason alone I think The Salsa Center Company made an important contribution to the preservation and dissemination of a historically significant period in Cuban music when the music was not heard in the United States and presumably other western European nations. I'm curious to learn more about the outfit. I'm most especially hoping to find a catalog of their releases.
