    The Spam-whitelist page is used in conjunction with the Mediawiki SpamBlacklist extension, and lists strings of text that override Meta's blacklist and the local spam-blacklist. Any administrator can edit the spam whitelist. Please post comments to the appropriate section below: Proposed additions (web pages to unblock), Proposed removals (sites to reblock), or Troubleshooting and problems; read the messageboxes at the top of each section for an explanation. See also MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist.

    Please enter your requests at the bottom of the Proposed additions to Whitelist section and not at the very bottom of the page. Sign your requests with four tildes: ~~~~

    Also in your request, please include the following:

    1. The link that you want whitelisted in the section title, like === example.com/help/index.php === .
    2. The Wikipedia page on which you want to use the link
    3. An explanation why it would be useful to the encyclopedia article proper
    4. If the site you're requesting is listed at /Common requests, please include confirmation that you have read the reason why requests regarding the site are commonly denied and that you still desire to proceed with your request

    Important: You must provide a full link to the specific web page you want to be whitelisted (leave out the http:// from the front; otherwise you will not be able to save your edit to this page). Requests quoting only a domain (i.e. ending in .com or similar with nothing after the / character) are likely to be denied. If you wish to have a site fully unblocked please visit the relevant section of MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist.

    Note: Do not request links to be whitelisted where you can reasonably suspect that the material you want to link to is in violation of copyright (see WP:LINKVIO). Such requests will likely be summarily rejected.

    There is no automated notification system in place for the results of requests, and you will not be notified when your request has a response. You should therefore add this page to your personal watch list, to your notifications through the subscribe feature, or check back here every few days to see if there is any progress on it; in particular, you should check whether administrators have raised any additional queries or expressed any concerns about the request, as failure to reply to these promptly will generally result in the request being denied.

    Completed requests are archived, additions and removal are logged. →snippet for logging: {{/request|1058751754#section_name}}

    Note that requests from new or unregistered users are not usually considered.

    Notice to everyone about our Reliable sources and External links noticeboards

    If you have a source that you would like to add to the spam-whitelist, but you are uncertain that it meets Wikipedia's guideline on reliability, please ask for opinions on the Reliable sources noticeboard, to confirm that it does meet that guideline, before submitting your whitelisting request here. In your request, link to the confirming discussion on that noticeboard.

    Likewise, if you have an external link that you are uncertain meets Wikipedia's guideline on external links, please get confirmation on the External links noticeboard before submitting your whitelisting request here.

    If your whitelist request falls under one of these two categories, the admins will be more willing to have the source whitelisted if you can achieve consensus at one of the above noticeboards.

    Request to whitelist page on bitcointalk.org

    I need to add a citation to the "Scams" section in the Bitcointalk page for the content "As a policy, Bitcointalk does not moderate scams ...", but this domain is on the global blacklist.

    The attached link is a stickied forum thread by a moderator that is titled: "Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ", and references, among other things, that forum staff does not moderate scams. It is the only credible link that references such information.

    Bitcointalk has been deleted and locked for creation. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 12:22, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Request to whitelist page on filesusr.com

    The Wyoming Republican Party passed the above-linked resolution declaring that they no longer consider Wyoming's sole member of the United States House of Representatives Liz Cheney (at-large) to be a Republican. The resolution's text would benefit several pages (including, but not limited to, the following): "Liz Cheney," "Wyoming's at-large congressional district," and "Wyoming Republican Party." Please allow the resolution to be on Wikipedia.Joesom333 (talk) 14:37, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    jaipurfoot.org

    Heavy COI spamming cross-wiki, but has an own article. Whitelisting a neutral landing page as the root domain is going to give continuous problems for use on Jaipur foot only. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:35, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    @Beetstra: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:36, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    @Beetstra: I know I started this discussion on the global blacklist talk page, but this is more a local issue: what about the links to the old site on enwiki, which I managed to whittle down from 14 to eight (albeit only on a few pages)? Would it work to whitelist some or all of https://web.archive.org/.../jaipurfoot.org so these sources could all be cited without being on the blacklist? Not to mention the Wayback link at the Jaipur foot article, which is now also on the blacklist. Graham87 13:32, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    I would collect them, drop 'm in a subsection under this section in {{WLRequestLink}} templates (even for some the life link, I think it is OK to link the history to the actual website ánd to the archive) and I or someone else will run the script on them. Dirk Beetstra T C 13:55, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Archive links used in Wikipedia articles

    As per above, here are the Wayback Machine links to this site used in Wikipedia articles that I think should be whitelisted. None of them are live; I've reduced the list to seven links. They are on the pages Jaipur foot, Jaipur, Veerendra Raj Mehta, and Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (I'm honestly not sure if the latter page should be a stand-alone article but I'm not the best to judge):

    Petition Website

    I am updating the Peel District school board wiki because of the recent sexual abuse cases that have to light. The schools are trying to sweep it under the rug and this petition was started by the students. I feel it's very important to add this to support the victims and help make this more public. --EverFree66 (talk) 17:19, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Request to whitelist article on Amazon.com

    I need this url for the Love for Sale (Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga album) article. This version of the vinyl is sold exclusively by Amazon, therefore I cannot use any other source as it can only be found on Amazon's website. --Sricsi (talk) 23:23, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    @Sricsi: no Declined, the problem is the tags at the end - https://www.amazon.com/Love-Sale-Amazon-Exclusive-Cream/dp/B09KH6DKLW works perfectly fine. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:41, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Request to whitelist NetNewsLedger single page

    The following link has specific information needed to reference the cancellation of the Canadian, Via Rail, due to the November 2021 Pacific Northwest floods. It has a specific statement issued by VIA Rail. The same link will do for both the Canadian and flood pages.

    Link requested to be whitelisted: www.netnewsledger.com/2021/11/17/british-columbia-fighting-back-from-rain-floods-and-washouts.html

    No other page is needed. - Tenebris 66.11.165.101 (talk) 00:39, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Request to whitelist article on infinitygalaxy.org

    Hello, please add this URL to the whitelist. I am a petrochemical engineer and I wanted to write about some of the bitumen tests that are very important in the industry. I have also prepared a draft on penetration testing as a starting point and I want to expand it. I intend to use the content of this page because I believe It is comprehensive and covers all aspects. Thus, I request it to be added to the whitelist. Kind regards. AlexJan24 (talk) 06:27, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Request to whitelist article on sgs.com

    I would like to cite this very useful list of "BPA Bans and Restrictions in Food Contact Materials" relating to Bisphenol A to the Wikipedia page Baby bottle. MaryMO (AR) (talk) 23:30, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    @MaryMO (AR): plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist (note for record/self: this was added because of a very long-term COI spamming campaign). --Dirk Beetstra T C 04:51, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Request to whitelist article on breitbart.com

    This article references the recent discussion on deleting "Mass killings under communist regimes"; I am requesting whitelisting to allow this article to be noted on the talk page of the article and the talk page of the discussion. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 01:52, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    @TE(æ)A,ea.: no Declined, that does not need a working link. --Dirk Beetstra T C 04:07, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • User:Beetstra, why does it not need a working link? The other news articles have working links. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 17:21, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
      So? This one is blacklisted because it should never be used in mainspace. The shortcomings of the spamblacklist extension make it impossible to stop other people from using it in mainspace (after all it is of interest to the subject). Moreover, the monolithic nature of the blacklist/whitelist makes maintenance already hell (we should clean up material on the whitelist that is not actually needed). Dirk Beetstra T C 04:05, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    Request to whitelist article on filmcompanion.in

    filmcompanion.in: Linksearch en (insource) - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:frSpamcheckMER-C X-wikigs • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced - RSN • COIBot-Link, Local, & XWiki Reports - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: searchmeta • Domain: domaintoolsAboutUs.com

    • Link requested to be whitelisted: filmcompanion.in/about-us

    I would like for Film Companion to be whitelisted as it satisfies WP:RS, was founded by one of India's most notable film critics and has not been subject to credibility controversies (unlike Republic TV). In fact, many other notable critics too write for FC such as Baradwaj Rangan. --Kailash29792 (talk) 06:26, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    @Kailash29792, have you read the blacklist discussion about the spamming campaign? This is a tough call, this seems to be a generally reputable source, but there's clear evidence for undeclared paid editing to spam their reviews. That's not good. Ravensfire (talk) 15:27, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    And as long as it's blacklisted, IABot does not work on it. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:30, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    There's no question this is going to be a real pain, but look at the parameters in the URL examples, especially the utm_medium and utm_campaign. This was deliberate, intentional and without a doubt part of an undeclared paid editing campaign. Can we trust what they added to be a fair representation of the review as a whole or highlight useful parts of the review? I don't think so. This was a dumb move by someone at FC. Ravensfire (talk) 16:40, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    @Kailash29792: no Declined, whitelisting negates the blacklisting here, so then ask for delisting. But indeed, this is a tough call since this was spammed, and that eeds to stop. --Dirk Beetstra T C 20:24, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    @Kailash29792: plus Added filmcompanion.in/about-us to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist (and that is already used in the document). Request to whitelist the root is still no Declined. The About-us can be used to identify the subject. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:39, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
