This is a list of solar eclipses in the 5th century. During the period 401 to 500 there were 233 solar eclipses of which 80 were partial, 84 were annular (one non-central), 67 were total, and 2 were hybrids (See types of solar eclipses). The greatest number of eclipses in one year was four, in 470, 474, 488, and 499. One month, August 463, had two eclipses.[1] Dates are given using the Julian calendar.
