London Buses route 241 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Stratford City bus station and Prince Regent station, it is operated by Stagecoach London.

History

Route 241 commenced operating on 7 September 1968 between Manor House station and Victoria & Albert Docks via Tottenham Hale, Leyton station, Stratford and Plaistow with AEC Routemasters partly replacing route 141.

On 16 June 1973, it was withdrawn between Manor House station and Stratford bus station being replaced by route 230. It was converted to one operation on the same date with Daimler Fleetlines. On 13 June 1976, it was diverted from Victoria & Albert Docks to Kier Hardie Trading Estate and extended to Canning Town.

On 26 September 1992, route 241 was converted to minibus operation, it was converted back to double operation on 16 September 1995.

Upon being re-tendered, the route was retained by Stagecoach London with a new contract commencing in May 2004.[1] Stagecoach London commenced a further contract on 7 May 2011.[2]

On 10 September 2011, route 241 was extended from Stratford Bus Station to Stratford City bus station to coincide with the opening of Westfield Stratford City.[3]
