Choqok (Persian: چغوک, pronounced [tʃoˈɣok]), is an open source microblogging client for KDE. [3] Currently Choqok supports Twitter and Identica (via its Twitter compatible API). Choqok can stay on system tray, and use system notifications to notify the user about new messages and updates. The name of the project, "Choqok", is an ancient local name of sparrow in Khorasan. [4] Choqok is a Free software and was released under the terms of GPL.
Features
[edit]Choqok supports Twitter and Identica. It can be integrated with KWallet and supports multiple accounts simultaneously. Choqok supports search APIs for all services and is able to send and receive messages directly. In addition to Twitter and Identica, self hosted Laconica websites is also supported using its Twitter compatible API. [5]
Current status
[edit]Mehrdad Momeny, the main developer of Choqok has stated that he plans to hand development of Choqok over to the community and he is looking for some volunteer to pass the maintainer-ship of Choqok. [6]
