Thanks for the Chelsea LFC edit :) Surasaurus (talk) 15:10, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for helping out

Thanks for helping me out. I'm a bit rust using Hug after my two year sabbatical and not sure how to use all the features. I saw that on Craig Furgeson you reverted back to a good version better than I did. Thanks, and if you can help me use this tool better let me know. Stillwaterising (talk) 04:29, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

No problem. You're on your own about Huggle, though - I never really cared for editing with it. --Bongwarrior (talk) 04:53, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Vinnie Paz

Sorry for the mistakes. I was pretty much copying verbatim from a magazine I picked up at an Army of The Pharoahs concert, so I'm surprised the info is false. Are you sure my information was incorrect? Which things were wrong? Thanks

I'm not sure what magazine you were reading, but the bulk of the material that you added appeared to be obvious and intentional misinformation. --Bongwarrior (talk) 05:03, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

The Hitler Game

Sorry about those edits I made on the Windows XP page. I was playing the Hitler Game with my friend, where you search a random page and try to reach the Adolf Hitler page through hyperlinks only. I cheated a bit and made my own on the Windows XP page. Just trying to have a bit of fun. (PS I won :D) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.154.149.31 (talk) 20:22, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

Impressively fast turnaround on semiprotecting Hildegard of Bingen: two minutes between notification of the vandalism and protection being put in place. Marnanel (talk) 01:42, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

I may be wrong, but you appear to have forgotten to place a protection lock thingy on the page. Thanks for protecting the page. It can be exhausting fighting persistent vandalism. (I wasn't active much on Ibanez, I was fighting the vandalism on José Valverde). It's kind of fun fighting that stuff though, in a way. AutomaticStrikeout 04:17, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

I don't bother adding the protection icons anymore, there is a bot that usually does it. --Bongwarrior (talk) 04:24, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh, ok. Thanks for catching that other bit of vandalism. When there is so much of it, it's easy for some to slip through the cracks, especially as it is after midnight for me. AutomaticStrikeout 04:27, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Yes, postseason baseball can lead to some aroused emotions and increased vandalism (see Sam Holbrook from last week). As an aside, I believe this is edit number 11,500 for me. AutomaticStrikeout 04:47, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
Congrats, hopefully many more to come :) --Bongwarrior (talk) 04:49, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
Yes, hopefully. By the way, the Tigers have taken the lead again, so Valverde may be off the hook (although this still got him compared to Hitler). AutomaticStrikeout 04:51, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Threat of violence

Hi Bongwarrior. On 8 October 2012 you reverted a threat of physical violence against me that was made on my talk page. I thank you for that. However another editor FeydHuxtable, after trawling through my talk page history, has referred to the threat again on a public talk page [2]. Would it be possible for both the original threat and the reference to it on [3] to be permanently deleted? Xxanthippe (talk) 03:10, 19 October 2012 (UTC).

I'm happy to remove the revision from your talk page, but I don't think FeydHuxtable's comment qualifies for deletion. While it was certainly an ill-considered remark (and the logic behind it leaves something to be desired), it's not really that disruptive in and of itself, at least not to the level that would justify revdel. --Bongwarrior (talk) 03:35, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. I note that FeydHuxtable has redacted the offensive material from the article talk. Xxanthippe (talk) 21:58, 19 October 2012 (UTC).
Thanks for taking an even handed view Bongwarrior, I removed the reference to the IP from my comment. @Xxanthippe, it took half an hour to write the edit you reverted and at least 3 hours of research (Id noticed it was tagged as needing improvement 5 days earlier when expanding Vaughan Nash & I hadnt read about Nightingale since school). I hope you can understand why a revert with what seemned to be a thoughtless edit summary was aggravating, and you'll be more considerate with other editors. For each editor who has asked you be more careful with your reverts, there are likely several who say nothing but are still demotivated. Anyhow, I dont mean to distress you and have taken FN off my watchlist, so hopefully you wont need to deal with me again. Plenty of other articles in need of improvement. FeydHuxtable (talk) 07:17, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for removing the comment. --Bongwarrior (talk) 23:25, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Your undo of my edit to the " Proof (truth)"article

Why did you revert this? To my understanding, getting to philosophy is a very well known thing, and removing that for no reason makes no sense. As well, sentences like the one I reverted to italics are usually italics. Therefore, my revision was correct. Jshaps1 (talk) 15:34, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Sentences like that are never in italics, especially not for the sake of a game. --Bongwarrior (talk) 15:35, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Not just a game, a very well known aspect of wikipedia that is very well known. I see no reason why it should not be preserved, especially when it makes almost zero difference to the article itself. Jshaps1 (talk) 15:40, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

It really has nothing to do with Wikipedia, and article quality usually suffers as a result (as was the case here). --Bongwarrior (talk) 15:43, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Okay, I now see your point. Some people will be a bit excessive in trying to preserve the game. Sorry for bothering you about something so small. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jshaps1 (talkcontribs) 15:46, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

I figured that's what you were doing, and that's admirable. But I don't think that person is trying to help us. Tonight's activity regarding that article has been problematic, as you can see from the histories. --Bongwarrior (talk) 05:49, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I have now looked at sone of the entries and the ANI entry. I'm still confused as to what it is all about.... what is a 'scavanger hunt' on a wiki???? Will stop my involvement. Regards, Ariconte (talk) 05:57, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Not sure, exactly. I think fans of the show have a contest to try to edit silly things into the article. There is a history of vandalism associated with those actors and that show, so it's nothing particularly new, I guess. --Bongwarrior (talk) 06:01, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Jared Padalecki

I am aware that you will most likely retaliate to this message with a rather angry reply, but I am quite distressed at your inability to have fun. While it may be inconvenient for some users to have GISHWHES team names on Jared's wiki page, it is also a sign of your uncaring attitude to charities that you have locked down his page. I politely request that you allow ALL GISHWHES participants to post on his page for the 6 days (in reality not a very long span of time) so that we may complete our challenge and raise more money for Misha Collins' charity RandomActs. Upon the end of the event I will personally clean the page and ensure it is back to it's regular standard of information. On another note, I am sure Jared Padalecki himself would approve of our use of his wikipedia page for Misha Collins' event. I also appologise if my formating of this request is incorrect as I am new at editing Wikipedia Yours sincerely Faith Lavinia (talk) 06:30, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Not only am I not angry, I'm not even mildly annoyed. Having said that, a lot of volunteers put a lot of work into making Wikipedia as accurate and informative as possible. This scavenger hunt appears to be incompatible with the best interests of our little encyclopedia project, so you will have to complete your challenges another way. --Bongwarrior (talk) 06:52, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Any chance you can allow editing of Jared Padalecki's page or know how I can do it? It's for Misha Collins, it's a Gishwhes task. Here's a kitten and a please. Please?

Jared Padelecki page

Hi I know you have probably had enough of the strange edits and having to 'tidy' up after them, but as others have mentioned this is in aid of GISHWHES... a scavenger hunt that brings people together, encourages artistic flair and originality, it also more importantly gets people raising money for international concerns and local charities too.... please lift the embargo on the editing... it all finishes after the weekend... Pretty Please.... Thank you FuzzyD Much love and positivity your way :) Source [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.150.141.120 (talk) 09:45, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Editor

Good evening. Saw that you are admin for Wikipedia. I occasionally get on an edit , usually when I see some idiot put something outlandish and flat wrong. I read on wiki a ton. How would I move up my senority so to speak so I can edit even more articles? IE like the one on Halloween. You locked it and rightfully so, I think it was a good move. However in the opening paragraph last line it ends by saying (paraphrasing) "that Halloween has turned in to robbing and looting. Which I don't think is accurate. Nor does it have a proper citation to back that assertion up in my opinion.

U can look at my prior edits to see my street cred lol .... If you could direct on the process to move up in rank to be able to have access and edit more that would be much appreciated. Happy Halloween! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lottie20032 (talkcontribs) 02:55, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks Lottie20032 (talk) 02:59, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Happy Halloween to you too, and thank you for offering to help. Your account has been around long enough that you are autoconfirmed, which basically means that you can edit 99.9% of all the pages on Wikipedia, whether they are semiprotected or not - you are able and encouraged to edit the Halloween article, for example. You don't really need any special permissions to be able to help, just a willingness to fix any problems that you notice. If you think a page might have been vandalized, there are some good tips at Wikipedia:Dealing with vandalism. Usually, all you will need to do is check the last edit and undo if needed, but sometimes it's a little trickier than that. If you see something wrong but you aren't sure how to fix it, there's nothing wrong with asking for some help. Take care. --Bongwarrior (talk) 07:21, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Apology

Procedure query

Depends on how bad the name is, and how bad the edits are (if they have edited). And always take the bot reports with a grain of salt - a lot of those tend to be false positives. Which particular user were you wondering about? --Bongwarrior (talk) 10:22, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
I would probably {{Vaublock}} and disable their ability to create a different username. If it was just the username with no edits, I would probably softblock and let them choose a new name, but it is sometimes useful to let the report linger until they edit, in order to see what their intentions are. --Bongwarrior (talk) 10:39, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Of course, often times you can judge the user's intentions by the username alone, if it is sufficiently foul. In those cases, there's no point in waiting for additional evidence - just block them as you would a regular vandal-only account. --Bongwarrior (talk) 11:02, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
If you mean the user's talk page, there are various templated block messages specific to vandal+username, username hardblocked, and username softblocked. The templated reasons at the bottom of Special:Block will automatically appear when the blocked user tries to edit - if the user's talk page is a redlink, I will usually skip leaving a message for them there because the red "this user is blocked" banner will appear at the top of the screen. If the user's talk page has been edited, the banner doesn't show, so I'll usually leave a message there. --Bongwarrior (talk) 10:55, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Category:User block templates, and at the bottom of the pulldown menu on the block screen. --Bongwarrior (talk) 20:52, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Re:Kakrowts

Just to let you know that I admire your work and am sorry that I made you feel so. Indeed I often block before the "final" warning recently. In this case, there was a level-3 warning, which is "enough" for a justified block. Anyway, let me know if you want me to do something about it (unblock or something). Cheers. Materialscientist (talk) 10:42, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Hasty .. I would think so a couple of years ago. Those who came here for cheap fun leave characteristic patterns, and I started blocking them quicker, for two major reasons - (i) I did try a lot to let them go and then saw them return, quite nastily, (ii) admins are leaving, vandals are only coming back in thousands - good to know that people like you are watching, but I do know that we are too few and we fail (I daily receive signals of unnoticed vandalism, and perhaps it is healthier not to know how much of it we let through :-). Re: MOH: Warfighter Edit

Hello Bong,

I appreciate you co-editing this plot, I have been keeping a sharp eye on the article to give as simple, but yet precise of how the storyline is revealed. So far I have played the game up to the Sarajevo encounter. I was so fond of the Philippine operation, as the Filipino technical advisers have done their best of getting the Tagalog scripts right and Filipino accents well, despite the setting is the 'Chabacano' speaking province of Basilan in Mindanao.

I really wanted to hear your input bec. of there have been so many changes of the Philippine special forces utilized along with the US Navy SEAL. I did mention the Scout Rangers, but was later changed by other sources as "Filipino special forces". It just sounded like, despite being from a 3rd world developing country, that there is no recognition at all. I then did the research and found the Philippine Army Special Forces, founded by Gen. (later Pres.) Fidel V. Ramos and replaced with that name. I was thinking that maybe other 'co-editors' did not want to 'specify' the Filipino special forces group. But why was the Pakistani ISI mentioned or the Polish GROM. I read about the NAVSOG group, but reviewing the game, I know the army had the most encounters with the Abu Sayyaf especially during the missionaries taken hostage.

I hope we can work on this together to give the Filipino (our Filipinos) the recognition it deserves. Peace to you! Jay2siazon — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jay2siazon (talkcontribs) 05:30, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with the game or the article at all, and I certainly wouldn't consider myself a co-editor - I merely stepped in while it was in the midst of a vandalism raid and tried to make the necessary repairs. Thank you for your hard work on the article; I'll leave it to you and other editors with some knowledge of the game to decide on the best wording. Take care. --Bongwarrior (talk) 05:42, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Hector Camacho

Hi, Bongwarrior. Would you please restore Camacho, there is huge interest in him (still pulling 22,000 a day in hits), consensus at ITN talk was for seven day listings (you've pulled him a day early-at least 18 hours), Tariqabjotu restored him here asking he be left up the full seven days [5]. Given the reader interest I see no advantage in replacing his name with blank space over keeping him up the full 7 days at least. μηδείς (talk) 04:32, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

I didn't notice the prior removal and restoration until I had already removed it. If I had, I probably wouldn't have bothered with it. Having said that, I don't think there was ever consensus for a hard-and-fast 7-day rule. In my opinion, 6.5 days is plenty long enough, especially when there are other, more recent entries in the section. --Bongwarrior (talk) 04:55, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
But the purpose of ITN is to feature updated articles that are in the news and of reader interest. This article is pulling very high reader interest and there's simply no reason to pull it 18 hours before 7 days, it is not stale at all--look at all the current work being done expanding the article--and you've seen the check user stats I gave you above. If there were another candidate replacing it, fine. But you admit there is no reason to pull it immediately, and I assure you there is plenty of user interest, so please have a heart and restore it. I'm not going to restore something that is only going to be removed 12 hours later anyway. It has been up long enough. If there is still that much reader interest, they are going to look it up whether it is linked from the main page or not. --Bongwarrior (talk) 05:18, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Ongoing wave of IP vandalism

I saw you blocked two IPs I've had past run-ins with. A while ago I compiled a list of vandalisms by various IPs, all of which at the time were clearly sockpuppets of User:Jason West Jones. I don't know for sure that he's behind it this time, but seeing as these two were among them, and have been used in rapid succession, I'd consider it rather likely. So, here's that documentation I put together. I never got around to putting in a centralized list of IPs used in the past, but I will in just a moment. — Francophonie&Androphilie(Je vous invite à me parler) 04:38, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Just so you know, I pending changes level 1'd the Ravi Shankar article, and apparently sometime while I was in the process you declined protection. I'm fine if you want to undo my protection; I just thought that given the subject recently died pending changes could be a wise option to protect but still allow constructive IP/new user edits. No way. I have no problem with mentioning it at the Westboro article, but it really has nothing at all to do with the shooting; it's merely a group of insignificant trolls trying to garner whatever attention they can, however they can. Their tactics speak for themselves, and I don't think we should be rewarding them with the attention they seek. This is only my opinion, of course. Protection of Jerry Orbach

I'm not sure where to go to correctly request this, but I figured I could request an administrator. The page Jerry Orbach keeps being vandalized, with multiple users (three so far: 70.27.83.203, 76.97.157.64, and Squirrels2nuts) changing "Orbach" to "Orbot." Whether or not these people are intentionally vandalizing the page (I think Squirrels2nuts was only going off of 76.97...'s edit, but either way, I put messages on the talk pages of all three users), my concern is that this may continue, possibly with other IP's getting involved. Thus, I wanted to know if the article should be temporarily semi-protected; and, if so, if you would do so. Thanks! Greengreengreenred 05:26, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Supernatural Vandalism

No not vandalism by ghosts, I mean the ongoing slow-vandalism of the Supernatural character pages. Thanks for picking up the last lot. The Winchester pages have been undergoing constant but widely spaced out vandalism since Supernatural appeared on the main page. Its usually done while I am asleep, so I assumed someone in the US, the recent one going by 'Moffat was here' though suggests a UK source. (Not many people in the US would probably get the Moffat reference) Only in death does duty end (talk) 12:24, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, it has been a pretty consistent problem for whatever reason. It may be a good candidate for pending changes at some point. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:37, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

My removal of the unverifiable and inaccurate nonsense that comprised the "Nucular" entry

Please stop reverting my edits, there is not a single piece of valid or verifiable information on the previous Nucular page, it was simply a flight of fancy by some overly creative individuals. At the very least, if you disagree with me then please at least review and attempt to validate it yourself before reverting my changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justin Buser (talkcontribs) 07:37, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

If you take it to Articles for deletion as I've suggested, you might be successful. If you keep vandalizing and blanking it, you most assuredly won't. It has been discussed and discussed again, which is why we have an article on it today. --Bongwarrior (talk) 07:45, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

I don't necessarily think it should be deleted, my main gripe is that it is represented as an actual word when in point of fact it is not. On top of which many of the things written are simply wrong, or supported by citations to material that either does not actually support them. For instance, the very first sentence claims that:

"Nucular is an ad hoc spelling of a metathetic alternate pronunciation of the word nuclear, representing the pronunciation new-q-ler instead of new-clee-er.".

First of all http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_dialect clearly states that such a practice "implies a pronunciation of the given word that is actually standard, such as wimmin for women;" as well as "This form of nonstandard spelling differs from others in that a difference in spelling does not indicate a difference in pronunciation of a word.". Clearly since the entire point of the article is that the pronunciation IS different then that reference is invalid.

Secondly Metathesis (linguistics) is defined as "the switching of two or more contiguous sounds", which does not describe the act of replacing one sound with another, especially when that sound doesn't actually exist in the correct pronunciation.

Finally he doesn't even use proper phonetical notation, which would be pretty important for an article about pronunciation.

So that's just the first sentence, the second one claiming that the word nucular actually exists is "supported" by a link that doesn't exist, and I have yet to find a dictionary that supports this assertion.

Essentially what I did was to go through each point one by one and look at the "citations" provided and what was left when I weeded out all the unsubstantiated and irrelevant content was virtually nothing.

What if I copy it to a sandbox page and then go through and edit the individual items that I have a problem with and show it to you before I make any changes? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justin Buser (talkcontribs) 08:47, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi there. You really don't help your cause by trying to build him up as some larger-than-life hatchet-wielding internet folk hero. I really don't think there is enough there for a standalone biographical article - if you were to stick to the facts and write as neutrally as possible, it might have a place at List of Internet phenomena, but I think it's still a bit early. My advice would be to give it some time to breathe and see if it the story persists, or if it's quickly forgotten. --Bongwarrior (talk) 22:29, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

IP editing; why not patrol edits?

Hi. Your reply got me thinking about edit patrolling. I think we could mitigate most of the issues of IP editing by enabling patrolled edits here. I see that it's disabled by default (grep wgUseRCPatrol). If all IP edits could be patrolled, you'd reduce patrol workload (less duplicative effort) and you'd ensure that the edits have at least a cursory human glance. Hmm. --MZMcBride (talk) 10:44, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. Wouldn't that be awfully similar to the pending changes option we have now, except on a much larger scale? By the way, I'm not seriously advocating that we should eliminate IP editing anytime soon, but I think it's an idea with some merit. I recognize that anons contribute plenty of good edits, but I would hope that they would still make those edits as accounts instead and not just lose interest. It would be a risk, no question about it. --Bongwarrior (talk) 11:13, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Etch A Sketch page

Christoph Brown, The Amazing Etch Man, is one of the premiere Etch A Sketch artists in the U.S. He was one of the first to create a preservation process & uses it in his full time business as an Etch A Sketch artist. He was also the first artist to create Etch A Sketch videos & to publish his artwork on-line. There are other artists listed on this page and Christoph has been listed in the past but removed for inexplicable reasons. If the encyclopedia is attempting to have an accurate representation of the Etch A Sketch art that is currently being created, Christoph must be included. We believe he should be listed as a reference in the Etch A Sketch art section and external links. You removed my information about hawks, and I do not feel to kindly about it.

Dearest Bongwarrior,

I will have you know that Mitch Rotert and I are both doctors of Hawkology. We studied together at the University of Bird Studies (U of BS) in Canada. There we learned through observation of the Hawk subspecies about their moral compass.

See, during one of our observations we saw a hawk that was observing a small mouse. The mouse was waiting at the Mouse bustop with a briefcase, top-hat, and and very nice looking suit. We gathered that the Hawk must have thought that the Mouse had a little mouse family and was returning to his home to spend time with them that evening. We even observed that the mouse looked extremely happy. We then saw the Hawk decide against eating the Mouse because of its EXCELLENT MORAL COMPASS.

Mitch then died shortly thereafter of cancer of the earlobe.

His dying wish was for me to edit wikipedia for him in his honor.

Thank you,

Speedy G3 Theo Bos (futbolista)

Hello Bongwarrior,

I like your username.

At the moment I'm trying to learn as much as I can about vandalism and about deletion. I was looking over new pages and came across "Theo Bos (futbolista)". I was trying to figure out the best way to deal with it then I saw it had been deleted by you; thanks :).

I get that it's clearly obvious that the page needed to be got rid of, but I just wanted to ask why you chose criteria G3. Personally I would have chosen A10 (the article added nothing to the existing article at Theo Bos (footballer)) or A3 (it contained nothing but an image). G2 might have worked too.

Given the guidelines at WP:NOTVAND I was slightly surprised by the G3-ing of this seemingly inoffensive article. But I see you've blocked the user (User talk:Borreswafflertron) which makes me think maybe you've previously had dealings with them? Thanks :) —Noiratsi (talk) 08:25, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi there. As you've noted, a CSD candidate will sometimes be eligible under several different criteria. I usually try to use the one that seems to be the most appropriate for the situation. After I noticed the Theo Bos (futbolista) article - but before I deleted it - I saw that the user had also participated in a vandalism "raid" at the Jackson Murphy article, using the same Pokemon image, leading me to believe that the intent behind the created article was vandalism. If it had just been that one article by itself, with no other edits to judge intent, I probably would have used G2 as the reason, or possibly A3. A10 would also have been correct, but I hadn't investigated far enough to notice that there was a preexisting article with that name. --Bongwarrior (talk) 09:11, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply! I hadn't looked at the user's previous contributions but now that I do I can see that they definitely were engaged in a vandalism spree using that one particular image. —Noiratsi (talk) 09:23, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

Page protection

I noticed that there's been some vandalism to Mouse. I haven't been following the drama but I'm guessing it was the subject of persistant vandalism, was protected, was today unprotected and then immediately vandalized. You have my sympathy. What I wanted to say was that Grape is also routinely vandalized and I was wondering if that might also be worth protecting? I have no experience in this area but noticed what you'd done (or tried to do) with Mouse and thought it might be worth bringing it to your attention. There's no need to reply. Keep up the good work! Regards, nagualdesign (talk) 14:47, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

Not a terrible idea at all, but I'd prefer to monitor it for a little while first. It does seem like most of the edits are vandalism, but the overall volume of edits is pretty manageable (and I did notice one or two good edits). This probably would be a good candidate for either semiprotection or pending changes at some point. --Bongwarrior (talk) 20:58, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

You have been busily blocking sockpuppets of this account JoMontNW. Just now a new face called JoMontSW popped up and started doing all the same things. For example [7] [8]. This must be a dozen times this person has come back to do the same edits. Is there some kind of IP block that could stop this? Thanks - --MelanieN (talk) 17:22, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

Never mind, it's been dealt with. --MelanieN (talk) 17:54, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
Reopened SPI and blocked the sock (VOA account anyway...) Peridon (talk) 17:58, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know about this, even though I wasn't around to deal with it. Don't hesitate to let me know if you see any more that haven't been handled. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:11, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
He's baaaaack! [9] Username User:EWUSAJO. --MelanieN (talk) 15:16, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks again. --Bongwarrior (talk) 16:53, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
This looks like another one: User:Jjusa123. He's already been indef-blocked for vandalism. --MelanieN (talk) 16:26, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

Talk Bo Ryan page?

I see you've been hard at work policing the entry for Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan. My name is Oskar Garcia and I'm a journalist with The Associated Press doing a quick story today on what's happening. Would you mind giving me a call? I'd love to talk to you for a few minutes about this. I can be reached at ogarcia@ap.org if you want to send me a quick email. Or if you give me an email address or some other means of contact I can send you my cell or call you. I'm new to communicating on Wikipedia so I'll check this talk page and mine, too. Thanks! Oskargarcia (talk) 20:43, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

I'm a pretty boring interview, and I'm not sure that this is much of a story, but I'll be happy to answer a few questions for you if you wouldn't mind e-mailing them to me here. Take care. --Bongwarrior (talk) 22:18, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks! Just sent you an email. I appreciate your time on this and look forward to hearing from you. Oskargarcia (talk) 23:47, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

My new article

Hello, could you please help me out by publishing my new article for me? It is at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Anthony Kirkland. Thank you.- 74.83.181.12 (talk) 22:39, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

I can probably do that. Are you going to continue working on it? Two things that I happened to notice: there were actually five victims, not four, and the article should probably mention that he was released from prison early after serving sixteen years for the first killing, and then went on to commit the other four murders. It looks like a pretty solid start, however, and I don't see any obvious notability problems. --Bongwarrior (talk) 22:53, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks again. I made some fixes and will continue to add to it from time to time.- 74.83.181.12 (talk) 23:49, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for being a vandal fighter.--I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 03:47, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

Deleted article

Hey, excuse me but you should really check with me before deleting the pages that I have made. You dont really know if it it a hoax or not, so show some respect for other people's rights. Thanks. -xz22 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xz22 (talkcontribs) 19:07, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Article deleted

Why has my page 'Richard Hepworth' been deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ash finn2018 (talkcontribs) 20:14, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Because it was an obviously non-serious vandalism/attack page. --Bongwarrior (talk) 20:21, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

And thanks to you for keeping the article clean. Sometimes we miss things in those types of situations, but you didn't. --Bongwarrior (talk) 23:46, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Still more sockpuppets of JoMontNW?

Our friend JoMontNW may be back. Or maybe it's a new, proud sockpuppet. One of JoMontNW's favorite places to vandalize was Lemon, so I have been watching that article, and recently an IP User talk:69.235.4.230 began vandalizing that article and bragging about how they couldn't be stopped because of their dynamic IP.[10] [11] They have been blocked temporarily[12] (and have repeatedly deleted all the history from their talk page), but I wonder if something more permanent is in order? Thanks for checking --MelanieN (talk) 17:23, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

I could be wrong, but they don't look related to me. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:29, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

TFA protection

Thanks for catching that (and for catching previous ones - should have thanked you earlier). I'm obviously just providing yet more evidence against myself that I can't be relied upon and need a bot to follow me around to look after me, I think! Cheers, BencherliteTalk 14:20, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

No problem. It's not really something super-critical that can't be missed occasionally, so don't beat yourself up. It used to be automated for a while, and I always thought that was a good idea. --Bongwarrior (talk) 14:34, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi, you blocked this IP once for vandalism and they are at it again, the same exact vandalism the same exact article for three years running. The consistency is remarkable if nothing else. The most recent vandalisms are January, March and April seen here. -- Green Cardamom (talk) 00:08, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

I've blocked them for a few months, thank you for letting me know. If they return to the article, we can go a little longer. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:16, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
