Hello, Oskosst. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, ACS Peacock, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

New articles and references
[edit]I notice that (a) some of your recent new articles about historians have been proposed for deletion and (b) you have tended to provide just bare-URL references (as others have commented above). The two subjects may be related: providing clear references to reliable sources makes it more likely that an article will be perceived to be robust and on a notable subject. Sites such as Goodreads involve user-generated content and it is best that an article should not rely on these. The information at WP:CITEHOW may be useful. AllyD (talk) 10:46, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

List of Indian cities by number of airports moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, List of Indian cities by number of airports, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

Quick question–do you know that this person is an American citizen? His faculty bio says he grew up in England. I've deleted mention of this unless there's a source. Also, his faculty bio says he's a historian of early modern, not medieval history-these are not the same thing-so I've changed that. Otherwise looks OK and I've activated the authority control tag.

I've added some relevant categories, most importantly 'living people': this matters because articles on living people get enhanced protection from vandalism. I've also run the citations through the refill tool so you have some text on them. Since the external links to Grove aren't really to his "official" website (that would be his personal or faculty website) I've deleted them.

Speedy deletion nomination of Barbara Bombi
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Barbara Bombi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Ingratis (talk) 18:06, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

Nomination of Nitin Sandesara for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Nitin Sandesara is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nitin Sandesara until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Numan765 (talk) 13:13, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
The article Sterling Biotech has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Resorces are just passing mentions. No indepth coverage. Most of the references are Press Releases.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Numan765 (talk) 13:16, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Referencing articles
[edit]Please can you use the standard citation templates when providing references. At present the article that you are creating are remarkably difficult to navigate because of the lack of clarity around referencing. Please see WP:CITE for detailed guidance on citing sources. Thank you Velella Velella Talk 21:28, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
- I see that you have been advised many times above about this. Please take the trouble to create proper references for your articles: this should have had references, not bare URLs. At the very least, if you are going to leave the URLs bare please don't put square brackets round them. This version still looks a mess but at least the reader can see what sort of sources you're using, and which of them are identical. You're not a new editor, so please learn how to create references. Thanks. PamD 09:45, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
Accuracy
[edit]You stated that Eucharius Cervicornus was born in 1516 and died in 1547. That is incorrect. Your source, the Library of Congress authority file, says "active 1516-1547". That means that there was some evidence that he existed on those dates. You could say "born before 1516" and/or "died after 1546" (might have been as early as 1547), or use the conventional fl. 1516-1547 (which means we know he was alive during that time but with no indication when he was born or died).
Please be very careful not to add incorrect information to the encyclopedia. You seem to have mis-read his date of admission to university - or perhaps disbelieved 1513 as you'd got him being born in 1516. Read the sources carefully.
Eucharius Cervicornus is on my watch list - I see that I nominated a previous version for deletion in July 2017 as part of cleaning up the contributions of a banned user. PamD 09:59, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
- OK, I've now cleaned up your mistakes in that article, upgraded the references (I can't be bothered with the External Links bare URLs - a bot will probably come along and try to fix them), rejigged the text, and added a fascinating snippet which was in one of your sources, as well as LC's list of variant names. You needn't have done all of that, but please:
- Be careful about accuracy: you had false birth, death, and university dates for this man: that's a lot of mistakes for one very short article
- Add properly formatted references, so the reader can see where you got your information from. You've found good useful sources, please take the time to create a proper reference. If you use the "Ref toolbar" facility you can put in the Googlebooks URL, click on the little "autofill" icon, and it will make a fair stab at expanding the reference, though needs to be checked carefully and sometimes expanded.
- Happy Editing, but please take more care. Thanks. PamD 10:50, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
May 2020
[edit] Hello, I'm PamD. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Heather Dalton, but you didn't provide a reliable source proper reference. Please read Wikipedia:Citing sources. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page.
It is not enough to quote a bare URL for a reference, and even worse when this is enclosed in square brackets rendering it invisible. The Wikipedia policy WP:Verifiability states that "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution". A bare URL concealed from the reader does not constitute an inline citation. Your continued creation of articles with these poorly-presented references is disruptive to the encyclopedia. Graeme Dunphy
[edit]Hi Oskosst, I see you have started an article on Graeme Dunphy. Well actually, that's me. I'm delighted that you think I am noteworthy enough. I write for wikipedia too, but I really don't want to write about myself, so I will not be editing this new article at all. But you are welcome to ask me if you want to know anything. Incidentally, I am not a historian, my field is actually modern languages. The overlap with history is my work on chronicles, which are usually the provence of historians, but I treat them as works of literature. I am currently professor of translation in Würzburg at the FHWS (https://fang.fhws.de/fakultaet/personen/professoren-und-lehrkraefte/person/prof-dr-graeme-dunphy/). From 1993-2013 I was lecturer of English in Regensburg. If you are interested, you will find PDFs of a lot of my work on www.academia.edu. Best wishes, --Doric Loon (talk) 21:15, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

I want to thank you for all your hard work creating articles. I really want to express my concern that you need to pay more attention to what you write and what it means. Writing an article about a man who died four years ago as if he was still alive, despite your only source for the article being his thorough, heartfelt obituary, can't seem anything other than insultingly slapdash, a cruel joke likely to cause distress to his family. I see you have been warned about shaky sourcing in the past, by me among others. Please be more careful in future. Your work really is appreciated, but your articles could be a lot better with just a little more time taken.

- Hi Gazal world, Oskosst has been blocked indefinitely, so presumably won't see this. His/her edits have been problematic, and even before the blocking, messages left here were invariably ignored, so I am afraid you will have to sort the problem yourself. --Doric Loon (talk) 09:14, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Doric Loon: Hello. Thanks for notifying me about this. I will solve it myself with the help of ODNB entry. Thanks. --Gazal world (talk) 09:48, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
Keyvan Mohajer moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Keyvan Mohajer, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. scope_creepTalk 13:29, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
