Revert

I reverted Epoch Cassette Vision because only Super Cassette Vision was be a copyvio -- as far as I can tell, Epoch Cassete Vision isn't copyvio material. Also, you simply blankedthe page, which is not the proper way to delete a page; only admins can delete pages.Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 18:14, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

I deleted Super Cassette Vision as a copyright violation, however I then recreated it as a redirect to Epoch Cassette Vision as they refer to the same console. --Canley(talk) 21:59, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Good work in fishing out those references. Cheers Wiki San Roze †αLҝ16:50, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks mate, am on cloud nine after reading your message. lols. BTW, lets leave the IP's revert as such. We don't want to get into 3RR. Let us deal with it civil and show the moral acendancy. I'm writing this in a open talk page, so that anyone who reads it and still editwarring should put himself to shame especially the User:59.92.137.91 IP who is obviously a sock. Cheers Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 17:58, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I am so tempted myself to go on with this one more ref[1] which states in 6.1 c and d that the falls come under TN territory. But both of us are running a risk of 3RR with this article. It is better to be slow and wise and get it done, if need be, by admin help. I do realise that there is a dispute. If someone asks me who that island belongs to, I would never say TN, but it is pretty painful to see that even senior editors falling prey for the communalism and covering the own. Lets keep our cool and collect more sources if we can. BTW the entry on JJ needs a bit of attention and I been snowed under for a while. We need to plan and do a proper colaborative work on it. Mail me about it. Cheers Wiki San Roze†αLҝ 18:23, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for the barnstar! That really boosts my moral. And those references are wow, especially the ones for KSTDC. These will do the job I guess. Really it left me in fits of laughter. :D Cheers mate Wiki San Roze †αLҝ21:43, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Um, there is no editing ban on the talk page. What happened was another admin deactivated the request for an edit to the article itself, but that only related to the requested edit to the main article. The talk page so far as I know is still editable. I did give Naadapriya a warning to cease stunts like moving the edit protected template after there had been expressed disagreement to his request, but that's something entirely different. If you can't edit the talk page, please let me know. John Carter (talk) 18:47, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
The only change that I know of that was made was the individual declining the editprotect request. Naadapriya had requested an edit, received opposition, and then moved the request to a new section, for whatever reason, and on that basis he received a warning. But there haven't been any real changes to the article or talk page in terms of protection or anything like that lately, just the declined editprotect request and comments as to why. At least, none that I can see.

Thanks

Thanks for the barnstar. I am glad you were okay with my decision to move the article. I found the article while doing new article patrol. I am not into any major projects here due to time constraints. I noticed you are helping out with the AFDs. Keep up the good work. Please do join in the discussions at the India notice board. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 01:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Tagging

Thats a good idea $un$hine. We should be able to edit that again without breaching the 3RR tonight. Lets see if the IP socks are stopping the vandalism. If they dont we can get it semiprotected first to keep unregistered IPs out. But once again people may creat sock accounts and start to vandalise. In that extreme case we can try get it fully protected. The latter is actually good for us since we are backed by good references and we can get admins to enter that into the article. In other words தருமத்தின் வாழ்வுதனை சூது கவ்வும் nevertheless we shall prevail. Cheers Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 13:45, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Its 24 hours and I have started editing it again. I have added the refs you provided too. Thanks for that. Once we get a few things straightened up with this entry, we can work on improving this article to meet a proper encyclopedia standard. BTW do you think you can contribute to this article on Dravidian parties. On a Good article review the reviewer had raisedcomments on a proper copy editing on it. To be honest since I wrote it I can hardly do any more changes to it. See if you can do something about this. CheersWiki San Roze †αLҝ 17:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Semi protected

Hey, got that semi protection done. Lets see if that slows down the vandals and brings them to the table to discuss. :) Wiki San Roze†αLҝ 18:34, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Dravidian parties

Hey thanks for your interest in contributing to the Dravidian parties article. This article can, in my opinion stay as a central article for most of TN's politics related entries. That is why I have also made a navigation footer box Template:Dravidian parties. I hate the design myself and probably we should make it as a navigation box that can stan in the right end of the articles. We can decide on that and ask for opinion from other people too. To be honest there are quite a lot that can be, and needs to be done on these politics articles. Are you alright if I send an email to you later about this? If thats not fine let me know, I wouldn't be offended at all. Thanks mate!Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 20:41, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I understand what you mean. I'm a biotech researcher myself and I joined wikipedia by editing scientific articles. I know a bit of politics which I learnt from my Dad (who was an engineer, but did a parttime MA political sciences through open university). My personal things apart, no presure on you, but it would be nice if you can contribute with your knowledge. I was a bit pushed for time to improve the Dravidian parties which was nominated as a Good article. There were some suggestions, most of which I have dealt with, but need to change the format of citations. You can find the feed back here. I will try to do that this weekend and if we are lucky to get it passed good article nomination, we can start working on other articles. Once again, it all depends on how much time you can manage. Cheers Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 20:08, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey! I have sent you an email. Check it out when you find time. Cheers Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 16:27, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I have created an entry on the above prominent politician. If we can expand it (almost double it) significantly in the next couple of days, we can nominate it for Did you know section that appears on the main page. Even if you can't find time to add things, can you do some copy edits on that article. Well, if time and interest permits you. BTW, thanks for your great support. Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 21:54, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Back to business

Hey mate! Now that we are making slow progress after an initial stall in Hogenakkal fallsarticle, I reckon we should start moving on to things we had earlier planned. Since the Hogenakkal falls article is now protected (and we are in a position that it can't be relaxed) the over all progress of that entry will be slower than snail-pace. Anyways, we can phrase sections and ask for them to be added bit by bit, but drastic improvements can't be made. I do realise that you are busy with work outside wiki. See if you can find time to spend on here. To start with, we haveJayalalithaa article left in the backburner. We need to move the critics section to a new entry. There is a similar section (rather too elaborate) on Karunanidhi's entry too. What we can do is to put them together and take them to a new single entry as Criticism on Dravidian party leaders or Criticism on Dravidian politics or something by that line. This will also help to avoid WP:UNDUE given on individual living politicians. We do have critics on Periyar, Annadurai and E. V. K. Sampath which we can add and not to mention the serious Nepotism that lead to the Sun TV crisis not too long ago. We can also note that Periyar's brother, nephew (and his children) are/were all active in politics which some look as nepotism again. I guess thats the article to next concentrate on. I will try to flesh out the Hogenakkal too and see if you can manage some too. I had to sing to myself the song Nenju porukuthillaiyae! when I saw the entry on Subramanya Bharathi!! Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 15:10, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Anatomy huh? I can't help much, but if there is something to do with Micrbbiology, do feel free to ask. Well, about Bharathi, such a great poet and reformer but his entry has just three references. Pity!! We shall do something about it, but much later.Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 15:38, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi, just letting you know that I made some major edits to the Pamban page you created. Disambiguation pages are supposed to follow the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages), and I've edited it so that it now follows the manual of style. The main change I made was removing the links from the descriptions in each of the entries, as disambig pages are only supposed to have one link per entry. --Xyzzyplugh (talk) 19:41, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

RfC

I'd wait until the RfC is officially certified to add any formal comments, and that probably won't be until Wednesday. What you could do in the interim however is add any information you would like to add to a user subpage, maybe at User:Pearll's sun/RfC. There you could write up whatever statement you want to regarding the subject, and if you want have someone else review it, although that probably wouldn't be necessary. You could then copy it in to the RfC page as your comment (probably formatted as "Comment by Pearll's sun") in the page then. Beyond that, what will happen later is that various people will propose various possible conclusions and outcomes. You would then be able to say which if any you agree with, and that's basically about all that happens there. If you have any doubts about how to do everything, though, probably creating a page at the redlink above or elsewhere to draft your own statement might work. But I have a feeling, given the number of issues involved, that there might be several people who had already commented shortly after the RfC is officially active. Basically, just following their lead would probably work. If you do have any specific concerns later though, I'd be willing to offer what help I could at your request to any draft comments you would like to make. John Carter (talk) 23:42, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey mate!

Long since I wrote to you isn't it? Sorry, been too much held up with work. Thanks for volunteering to extend some help on the article. Although we didn't meet the GA criteria this time, I did learn a lot in the process. For starters, the article clearly targets Indian readers, where as on Wikipedia we will have to target mostly the Anglo-American readers. This would be very tricky for this article given the acronyms and long complicated names of the parties. Also not to mention the use of self-first name for formal purposes and paternal firstname as second name being common in TN which very much confuses the Anglo-American readers. It is great that you are ready to help. I (or we) need all the help we can get to improve this article. Cheers Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 11:00, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

You might want to have a look atthis before we can proceed. We need a to-do list and people who can help in peer reviews. Ciao Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 13:49, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Hogenakkal Falls

I think one of the citations you mentioned is just being used to verify the age of the carbonatite rocks, so they do make sense regarding that matter. Google Earth had been introduced before. Why Naadapriya, who disagrees with Google Earth's view, doesn't want to cite it is I think fairly obvious. John Carter (talk) 15:37, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Note

Please do not "warn people against committing vandalism" when they are administrators. I removed the material from the article because it was external analysis, and as such I judged that it was not relevant. DS (talk) 19:46, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

About Twinkle

Please take care when using Twinkle to revert edits. The edit you made here[2]identified Naadapriya's contributions as vandalism, but I do not think many editors would agree with you. Wikipedia defines vandalism as any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. You may not know this, but labelling another editor's good faith contributions as vandalism may be seen as a form of harassment on your part, and administrators have in the past sanctioned editors for abuse of editing tools like Twinkle, rollback and Huggle. Given the article's history, I think everyone needs to try to be less confrontational and more willing to discuss things politely on the Talk page. ==================

in family planning in oral contraceptives wat is the difference between monophasic, diphasic n triphasic pills?

Birth control pills are one of the most popular and effective forms of birth control. a doctor can choose from more than 30 different formulations, with different combinations, schedules, or amounts of hormones.

Most birth control pills contain the hormones estrogen and progestin. They are categorized as monophasic, biphasic, or triphasic pills depending on whether the level of hormones stays the same during the first three weeks of the menstrual cycle or changes. (Pills for the fourth week, if they are included, are usually sugar pills that contain no medicine.)

Monophasic pills contain the same amount of estrogen and progestin in all of the active pills in a pack. Examples of monophasic pills include Ort.ho-Novum 1/35, Demulen 1/35, Lo-Ovral, Ort.ho-Cyclen, Loestrin, Alesse, Apri and Ort.ho-Cept. Because of the uniform hormone level in all the pills, monophasics are least likely to cause side effects, such as mood changes, that can result from fluctuating hormone levels in the body.

Biphasic and triphasic pills contain different dosages of progestin or estrogen throughout the pill pack. Compared with monophasics, these pills reduce the total hormone dosage a woman receives and are thought to better match the body’s natural menstrual cycle. Biphasic pills change the level of hormones once during the menstrual cycle. Examples of biphasic pills include Ort.ho-Novum 10/11, Mircette and Necon 10/11.

Triphasic pills contain three different doses of hormones in the active pills (changing every seven days during the first three weeks of pills). Triphasic pills include Ort.ho-Novum 7/7/7, Ort.ho Tri-Cyclen, Triphasil, Tri-Levlen, and Tri-Norinyl.

Despite the differences, no single pill or pill type rates as the "best" one. Experts consider all combination pills equally effective in preventing pregnancy, provided the pills are used appropriately.

=====================
Monophasic pills provide the same amount of estrogen and progestin in every hormonal pill. Biphasic and triphasic pills change the amount of estrogen and progestin at different points of the pill-taking cycle.

For biphasic pills, the first 10 pills have one dosage, and then the next 11 pills have another level of estrogen and progestin.

For triphasic pills, the first 7 or so pills have one dosage, the next 7 pills have another dosage, and the last 7 hormonal pills have yet another dosage.

All prevent pregnancy in the same way. Differences in side effects, effectiveness, and continuation appear to be slight.
