Sacrifice

Okay, I took your advice and worked on the lead, though it is still a little OOU because of what Giant said. Is there anything else you would like me to work on? Also Slam is the only reliable one that is alright for the lead. I have 411Mania and that is it, though FAC reviewers would have a problem with it in the lead.--WillC 21:55, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Well since it helped Lockdown pass and was a problem that the lead was in universe during its first FAC and not one in the second I would rather go by having the lead OOU. I agree I went too far in depth in the lead, I just felt I was leaving stuff out since TNA acted like itself and went gimmick over board at Sacrifice with a fucked up tournament and some weird battle royal. Wasn't sure what too mention and what I shouldn't.--WillC 22:13, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
The problem is no one reviews peer reviews anymore. I just nominated it. Just doing it to get 50 points in the cup. Get somemore experience for BFG when I take it after a peer review. Prose is never my strong suit anyway.--WillC 23:23, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm not doing it for the tournament. That is just a bonus. I was taking Sacrifice to FAC anyway; remember a few months ago I had it on the waiting list to FAC wwhen Lockdown was up. I'm taking all of the 2008 TNA PPV events to FAC. It just took me a while to decide to take Sacrifce. I was going to wait till after BFG but Sacrifice would have been easier to take. I rush everything. I rushed Lockdown. If Sacrifice fails it fails. I'll take it back after I work on it and a peer review. I'm busy in real life so I didn't want to deal with the peer review process anyway.--WillC 23:36, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry about the prose of Sacrifice. It wasn't like that when I nominated it. I got it copyedited by someone outside the project and he must have not understood somethings. I'll work on it.--WillC 02:44, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
It was a last minute thing. I just asked him off the top of my head. Well I'm working on the rest of the background now.--WillC 02:48, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I was working on the tournament, the last few sentences of the first paragraph sound weird to me and the situation is hard for me to write very well. So that is probably written badly. I'll work on it somemore tomorrow. Just thought to let you know.--WillC 04:06, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Hey, hold off on any comments for Sacrifice. I'm taking it into consideration to withdraw it since I do not have enough time at the moment to deal with the process.--WillC 16:01, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I didn't withdraw it because of the prose, I withdrew it mainly because I'm leaving for a few weeks to get other stuff in my life fixed. I wasn't happy with Sacrifice in the first place and I'm still not happy with Lockdown, so I never can tell if anything is ready or not. I've been thinking about it since before I nominated if I should. I went ahead thinking I would have time. Then last night I discovered something new and this morning I finally decided to withdraw it.--WillC 21:53, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, that was the first thing I did. I went straight to her and asked to withdraw it. [1]--WillC 00:09, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
I've been wondering the same. I'm expecting a bot to come along later this night.--WillC 00:17, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Do you know anything about production sections?--WillC 00:18, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
I want to make one for Victory Road (2004), which didn't get alot of promotion and wasn't that fancy but I feel one is needed since it was TNA's first monthly three hour event. Just wondering if there was anyone who could give me a few pointers on finding good information.--WillC 00:43, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
The problem is I can't find that info. It is common knowledge to a TNA fan but I've never seen one source from TNA or anyother site that speaks on how TNA come to the point. It all has to do with TNA believing they had a strong enough fan base that they could do monthly $30 PPVs. They got Impact on Fox Net and their last weekly PPV was held on September 8 which built the VR main event. I can give the day it was announced that it would be held at the Impact Zone but that is about it.--WillC 00:51, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
I checked it for TNA Wrestling.com and found nothing.--WillC 01:01, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
They have nothing for 2004 era of TNA's site. Around a few for 05 but they are just the main page and nothing else. I looked a while ago.--WillC 01:17, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
TNA doesn't even keep Impact results longer than four months. I got lucky to find their results for BFG 07. I'm looking at 411Mania hoping they give me something.--WillC 01:24, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

RR 2009

It's still written as The Brian Kendrick. Also, I have been editing PPV articles long before you and know what we do. For tag teams that have "the" in their name but not in the article name (like The Road Warriors and The Dudley Boyz), we leave "The" outside of the link. Please revert your edit since I am right. TJ Spyke 23:02, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

I wouldn't necessarily say you are better, I choose not to write them because I disagree with certain things (like putting their real names) and would not use them when writing. Writing The Brian Kendrick is the same as The Brian Kendrick, the only difference is that the former uses up less space. Not a big deal, but I see no reason include basically write his name twice everytime we link to him. TJ Spyke 23:19, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
No, there is no "correct" way in this case. It's a matter of opinion. You think the long way is better, I think the shorter and more concise version is better. Since I added it in, it should go back. TJ Spyke 23:26, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Lazy? I have spent tons of times fixing links and in a lot of articles. "The Brian Kendrick" says EXACTLY the same information as The Brian Kendrick and is just as correct. The way I see it, there was no reason whatsoever for you to change it. TJ Spyke 23:34, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm not trying to sound hostile. I just don't see the point in basically writing his name twice just to include "The" in the actual link. TJ Spyke 23:44, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
I think you may have shot yourself in the foot: Wikipedia:PIPE#When not to use (the example of using "President Barack Obama" instead of "President Barack Obama". TJ Spyke 00:05, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
That one supports my usage, nothing in either article supports yours (WP:THE is about article titles). TJ Spyke 00:15, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
So "The Brian Kendrick" is NOT longer than "The Brian Kendrick"? Hahaha. TJ Spyke 00:26, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Why not settle this the same way as WP:ENGVAR? In the future, whoever adds it in can decide. TJ Spyke 00:34, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Gosh Truco, stop getting to the prose problems before me :D. I just got through the entire FLC list, save a couple of the sports lists at the top. Thanks for all your help in reviewing and such. I reviewed one of your wrestling lists, you may want to look at that. Dabomb87 (talk) 18:42, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
I meant that I haven't reviewed the FA cup list or starting pitchers list, and I won't until the nominators fix your issues first. Dabomb87 (talk) 19:13, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, guess we are going to have to take this to ANI :D. Anyway, all issues were resolved, I supported. Dabomb87 (talk) 19:18, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
'Tis unfortunate. I spend so much time reviewing and copy-editing for others that I don't have that much time for article writing. I will try to get back to it later this month. You'll be watching the game, of course? Dabomb87 (talk) 19:27, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

WWE Raw

Please do not revert again. We don't update the count until after it airs, and definitely not before the show even starts. TJ Spyke 01:53, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

It's the other way around. We used to update it as soon as it started (I know, I was the one who always updated it). Since I returned last month though I have noticed that the count for the shows isn't updated until after the show is over. Either is fine with me, but it definitely shouldn't be updated before the show even starts. TJ Spyke 02:00, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

A.F.C. Sudbury

Hi. Thanks for going through this article. I must, however, disagree about your comments regarding commas, for instance:

* At the time of A.F.C. Sudbury's formation the ground consisted of two pitches, a training area, clubhouse, floodlights, a 200-seat stand on the West side of the main pitch and covered ends behind the goals. - comma after formation

I'm not sure why you feel a comma is necessary in this case. More importantly, though, I'm not sure where I would air such a disagreement. I'll get on with addressing some other issues in the meanwhile. Cheers. Dancarney (talk) 22:45, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

List of awards and nominations received by Fiona Apple

Hi there! You reviewed the article I created, List of awards and nominations received by Rufus Wainwright, when I nominated it for FL status. I am currently working on a similar list for Fiona Apple. Here is a link to peer review, after which I will be attempting to get the list FL status as well. If you have a few minutes, I would appreciated any suggestions you may have. If not, thanks again for your help with the Wainwright awards list. Best wishes! -Whataworld06 (talk) 03:28, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks so much! No rush, I just figured you might enjoy the music awards lists, so I thought I'd let you know I am currently looking for peer review and eventually FLC status for the article. Much appreciated! -Whataworld06 (talk) 03:53, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

 • I am not certain I understand what you mean by summarizing the list a bit more. I mentioned a few recognitions associated with her debut album, then gave a list of all the various nominations she has received (including the number of nominations for each). In no way am I taking offense or stating I am not willing to add more (I am!), I am just not sure to expand it further. Any suggestion? THANK YOU again for all your assistance. Hopefully this article will not have difficulty reaching FL status. -Whataworld06 (talk) 03:24, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Hall of Fame articles

You've done a great job with the WCW and NWA Hall of Fame lists. I was wondering if you plan on continuing with wrestling's other Halls of Fame. They could all use some cleanup. I'm sure the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum article could be expanded enough to qualify for a DYK. Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame needs some cleanup and formatting, and there is currently no article for the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. The reason that I'm asking is that George Tragos is next on my list for articles to expand, and I thought it would make sense to create an article/list for the Tragos/Thesz Hall as well. That got me thinking about the possibility of a Featured Topic if the HOFs could all get to FL status. If you're not planning on working on the other HOFs, I might make that my new project. If you are, feel free to get in touch for any help. I don't mind writing prose, and I'm sure the list of 1996 WON inductees (and compiling a list of their most relevant accomplishments) is a bit of an intimidating task. GaryColemanFan (talk) 19:30, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

The website for the Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame is http://www.wrestlingmuseum.org/gtlthof.html. It is an actual building, and it has been discussed on SLAM! Wrestling and the Cauliflower Alley Club website. The building was damaged in a flood a couple of years ago, so it got some coverage there as well. There is also an NWA Legends Hall of Heroes (http://www.midatlanticgateway.com/hoh/heroes2.htm), which has an induction ceremony every year and has also been discussed on SLAM! Wrestling. I'm not sure if it's a hall of fame in the same sense (especially since there is already an NWA Hall of Fame), but it seems to have some notability. My version is at User:GaryColemanFan/Murphy (I've just got the table done, and I'll be expanding the prose with reliable sources as I have time). And if you're just too busy, don't worry about it. Thanks, GaryColemanFan (talk) 06:09, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

I finished up the initial work on the article, and I moved it into the mainspace. I have no idea how to get Dick the Bruiser to sort properly, though. If you have time, could you take a look at it? Thanks, GaryColemanFan (talk) 15:26, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

TBH, no. I still have that fear that I'll be criticized for maybe bring up something that really doesn't need fixing or criticized for something else. Believe me, this is how I am when it comes to reviewing articles at GAN. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:06, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
I know, its a stupid thing to fall back on, but that's how I go by. I know and I congratulate you on your hard work regarding the reviews of the lists. Who knows, there might be a list that will catch my eye and you'll see me review it. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:25, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
It will; all it needs is a good user who nominates a good list. :P --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:32, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

A very trivial topic

But I was looking at the WT:PW page, and I noticed a few threads you started were asking for Support/Oppose/Comments. I think you know that consensus can not be built with voting and straw polls. It needs to be formed through discussion. Remember, polls are evil and should be used as a last resort. iMatthew // talk // 00:49, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Ok, well in the future, even if it's the 42nd discussion about it, discuss it first, take an evil poll later. iMatthew // talk // 01:13, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
You did it again at the FLC talk page. :-/ iMatthew // talk // 15:42, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Yep

Sigh, I am leaning that way. He's been a great editor and really helped out with pictures, but sometimes tough decisions have to be made (like when WWE released Kurt Angle for medical reasons). I honestly think that when the full protection expires he will once again start disrupting those pages. TJ Spyke 02:47, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I am reviewing your article, Survivor Series (2007), for GA and have left some comments at Talk:Survivor Series (2007)/GA1. The article is in good shape, with only some dead links needing to be addressed. Also, none of the titles to references should be in all caps. Please contact me if you have questions or comments. I am reviewing your article, World Heavyweight Championship (WWE), for GA and have added a few comments at Talk:World Heavyweight Championship (WWE)/GA1. If you're able to do some copyediting, that would be great. I would like to submit it to FLC in the future, so any help is appreciated. I've also started to work on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame list. It's going to take quite a while just to get through the first year of inductions, though. I've got it going here. Since you're working on hall of fame articles and some of our research will overlap, feel free to copy any of the information/references if it will help. There's certainly no point in both of us spending half an hour looking for reliable sources on Dick Beyer. GaryColemanFan (talk) 06:51, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the copyedit and the suggestions. I'll get to work on them soon. I wasn't sure about Kayfabe Memories. On their "About Us" page [2], it says that they've got a staff of writers, so there's definitely some editorial control. It's also been acknowledged by many people in the industry as a good and reliable site at the bottom of the middle column here and here. I don't know that it would hold up at FLC, though, so I'll see if MPJ-DK can find anything in his Wrestling Title Histories book. I'm also not sure about the Harley Race site. When I first looked it over, it seemed like Race was involved. I just checked again, and he might have just provided pictures. As for my comment about copying the information and references, I was probably just tired when I typed that. I meant that if you move on to work on something like the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum article, you should feel free to copy anything from the list I'm working on. For example, Beyer is in the PWHOF, and I've already finished his entry on the WONHOF page, so there's no need for you to search for information about him when you could just copy his entry from the page I'm working on. GaryColemanFan (talk) 16:43, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Newsletter

I don't really see it as differentiating views. Facts are when the DYKs are in two columns, some of the words get covered up on my screen, and the theme song isn't notable. It wasn't last year, and it hasn't been for any other pay-per-view. ♥NiciVampireHeart14:48, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

I disagree. I know WM is important and the biggest wrestling event of the year, but I simply don't see how the theme song is notable enough to warrant a mention along side news of championship winners, a return from injury and an announced television deal. Theme songs aren't all that important, whether they're the WM ones or not. ♥NiciVampireHeart15:06, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
No, there's not really, but I think that it's always been understood that only notable news goes in the newsletter, that title changes, injuries, returns, etc. I really don't see theme songs as being along the same lines as the above. ♥NiciVampireHeart15:16, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Sure. :) ♥NiciVampireHeart15:32, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Twinkle

Be more careful when you use this. You reverted vandalism on the Raw and SmackDown pages with this. The problem though was that you reverted to versions that also had vandalism (like here [3]). Error in PW newsletter

Hi, I don't think you know me but I think I've found an error in the WP:PW newsletter. I'm just saying thing because, at the end of the newsletter, it says this:

col-end |} |} <div style="float:right; font-size:60%;">Delivered: 16:34, 1 February 2009 (UTC) by MiszaBot (talk)</div>

I think it should've been this:

col-end |} |} <div style="float:right; font-size:60%;">Delivered: 16:34, 1 February 2009 (UTC) by MiszaBot (talk)</div>

Because if not, all the messages sent to users appear inside the newsletter. Hope I helped, I allready fixed it on your page and on a few more. CFountain (talk) 19:32, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

By the way I fixed it for the next edition too. CFountain (talk) 19:55, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Thing is, there are about 250 user in the WP:PW aren't there? Well there must be a problem there, because now all their messages will appear inside the newsletter, and if they don't realize, they won't see their messages. Ps. if you need any help in the next edition ask me, I'll help you without any problem, if I'm capable of doing it. CFountain (talk) 20:57, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
I changed the design, making it Red-Blue-White, but anyway, what I was gonna say was ¿Is wrestlingtruth.com reliable?--CFountain (talk) 21:13, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh sorry, I'm new and didn't know about the consensus thing, anyway, if you need any other help inside the newsletter, any news... anything, ask me, although I doubt you'll need help--CFountain (talk) 21:50, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Not really technical =) I can find out about inside news and stuff. Anyway, happy editing! CFountain (talk) 21:54, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh, btw. What should we do about the error I found, cos now all the users that recieved it won't be able to read further messages unless they open the newsletter, and if they're not warned they won't be able to answer peoples messages--CFountain (talk) 22:14, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Yah of course anyway I already changed it for the next newsletter, but, thing is, should we put up a notice on the WP:PW page or something. I find it necesary that people know how to deal it. CFountain (talk) 22:23, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
No, maybe you understood wrong. The messages - even if they belong to other sections - appear inside the newsletter, and when you click on the link at the top of your user talk page, your computer starts to lag and nothing happens. CFountain (talk) 22:28, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

FLC type review

Hi, firstly many thanks for reviewing my Sports Personality of the Year lists that are or have been at FLC. I was wondering if you could do a FLC type review for BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero Award. As it doesn't meet the unwritten 10 item criteria for lists, it needs an audit for its inclusion in a topic. So would it be possible do this at its peer review. Many thanks, Rambo's Revenge (talk) 13:40, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the comments. I have addressed or replied to all your comments, and I was wondering if you could revisit them, reply to any comments and state if the changes I have made are acceptable. Many thanks, Rambo's Revenge (talk) 11:47, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Rufus Wainwright discography

Hi there, and thank you again so much for your assistance with the FL nomination process. This is terribly embarrassing, but I cannot figure out how to add an emdash to the blank certification fields, as requested. If you are aware of how to do this easily, be my guest. I believe I have addressed all other concerns raised and suggestions made. I did have one additional question regarding referencing (if Amazon could be used for track list verification), and another regarding a compilation compiled by Wainwright. Feel free to take a look at the FL nomination entry again for details. Thanks again! -Whataworld06 (talk) 02:12, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

I believe everything has been corrected, as requested. I was able to figure out the emdashes on the table. I believe the only outstanding concern is the lack of reference for Eklektikos Live. I know the track appears on the album, but I simply cannot find verification online. Shall I just remove it from the list? -Whataworld06 (talk) 03:30, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Hi there. I hate to bring you back to this article, but someone has opposed this list obtaining FL status b/c it is over-referenced, so we are currently debating how the entries on the list should best be references (Allmusic, Billboard, more general sources vs. specifics, etc.) IF you have time and may be able to provide another point of view on the issue, it would be much appreciated. I am not asking you to take my side. I am more than willing to edit the article, but I would like more suggestions and points of view on this issue before editing the article based on one opposition/criticism. If you have other things to worry about, no prob! I just thought you might be interested since you already supported the FL nomination. Thanks. -Whataworld06 (talk) 20:05, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

How about next time, before you do something like redirect a template, why don't you wait for a damn response. Crash Underride 18:19, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Actually, I meant to work on it. I HAD in it, a place for a wrestler's birth name, for cases such as Stone Cold Steve Austin. Crash Underride 17:31, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Need of your help

I couldn't really call that a consensus, as there were about as many editors voting to wait as there were to change. Thus, I can't justify moving the article back, but I'll look into protecting it to prevent move-warring. Cheers, –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 21:51, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Cool, thanks for letting me know. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 22:56, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Talk page

Ask yourself and access the situation. For the past two weeks, editors who didn't know how to use the sortable feature have, even openly, admitted that they didn't read what was said on the talk page. So if they didn't read what I was saying about the sortable table feature, what makes you think they are going to know how to work it with a hidden notice mixed in with unfamiliar wiki markup language? — Moe ε 03:50, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

I didn't plan on leaving the notice up there for long, I wanted to leave it up there for those who frequently visit the article so they know that the tables are sortable now. After people stop asking how to change it back to chronological order, then I'll remove it. About WP:OWN, you're looking way too into it. Authors and contributors on the Wikipedia level are virtually the same thing; I am not going to argue the semantics of what you thought I meant. — Moe ε 04:02, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure. If someone else wanted to nominate it once I am finished, I wouldn't mind. However, I don't personally involve myself much in the process of how something is rated on scales of its importance or how "good" it is. I've never liked the idea of having articles rated, so I let other editors decide on that. — Moe ε 04:21, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

iDon / Project Reggaeton help!

Hey Truco, remember me? I'm not sure if you are still involved with editing article relating to reggaeton, but I have just recently started the article for Don Omar's new studio album iDon and I have a good amount of information so far. However I'm going to need help. I was the only one who was involved in what is on the article and I'm trying to make it so this article can some day reach Good Article status. So if you can, I'd really appreciate it. And Don Omar is one of the most well-known names in the reggaeton world, and this new album IS a big deal. El cangri386 Sign! or Talk 03:02, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

I have actually looked at some Good Article rated pages, but there's not enough information so far ('cause not a lot of news was published! lol). I would've thought that on an album such as iDon, there would have been at least a few Project Reggaeton editors working on it, but I've been the only one so far :/. And considering you've helped get a few articles reach featured article status, maybe you could help out with this one as well? I'll see if I can get the attention of other editors as well, of course. El cangri386 Sign! or Talk 03:13, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
And most of the information I found came mostly from Wikiton.net. I'm mainly depending on this site for the information regarding the album, but I'm also searching on other sites as well. El cangri386 Sign! or Talk 03:26, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
