License tagging for Image:Entrance_Detail_of_Dome_.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Entrance_Detail_of_Dome_.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:49, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Max and Nadia Shepard Recital Hall[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Max and Nadia Shepard Recital Hall, and it appears to include a substantial copy of https://www.newpaltz.edu/fpa/facilities.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 11:13, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Max and Nadia Shepard Recital Hall[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Max and Nadia Shepard Recital Hall requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Shepard hall.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Shepard hall.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 21:23, 18 May 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:23, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading this media, (it's appreciated.)

However, it would be nice if you could give some kind of indication as to what license the media is under. That way other people can be confident in making use of it for many varied purposes :)

Adding license information also helps prevent media you've put effort into creating from being deleted :)

You may wish to read Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#For_image_creators which will assist you :)

Speedy deletion nomination of Sparre Olsen[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Sparre Olsen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Nadia and Max Shepard Recital Hall[edit]

I have turned this into a redirect to the Max and Nadia version - we don't need two identical articles about the same room. If the article is kept, it will probably be sensible to keep the redirect, because there does seem to be some confusion about what the room is called. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:44, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Potential CoI[edit]

Information.svg Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. I notice that the IP you've been editing from (when you forget to log in) is located at SUNY New Paltz, and that generates some concern about COI for me. Also, please don't cast more than one vote in AfD discussions. Additional comments are fine, but please make just one vote. » scoops 5x5 17:57, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Athens[edit]

Your contributions[edit]

Hello! First off, thanks for your contributions. If I may ask though, what is your mother language? Your English, I am sorry to say, is insufficient, and from what I have seen in your articles in the Greek Wikipedia, your Greek isn't any better. This is very surprising given that you are, according to your own statement, American-born and have a BSc, so I have some trouble believing you are who you claim to be. As Wikipedia requires a minimum competence in English, among other things, this is of some importance. If English is not your mother language, then you should state so and limit your edits accordingly, or ask for the help of other users, perhaps via WP:AfC. Wikipedia welcomes any and all, but you do not help by creating articles that are unreadable, nor can you expect other users to hurry up after you, cleaning them up. Cheers, Constantine 19:16, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I mainly disagree with Constantine. Your contributions are welcome. Stub articles including ones which require some "cleanup" by others are allowed and can be significant contributions to make. You are certainly not required to state who you are, or explain anything personal about yourself. However, it is perfectly fine for Constantine to suggest use of "Articles for Creation", wp:AFC. I used it myself for many hundreds of articles over a long period. You can create a draft article in "draftspace", e.g. at Draft:Smithtown Greek Orthodox church to make up a name. Then develop it, possibly slowly. Then when you are ready, "submit" it for approval following directions at wp:AFC. Then there are very nice editors there who might help develop it a bit more, or make suggestions, and then "promote" it to mainspace. Articles created this way are much more likely to survive in mainspace without being targeted for deletion by AFD or other processes. Anyhow, the main thing is you should feel welcome and you should contribute where you like! --doncram 22:19, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Tzim78. See my note about AFD in next section below. You are indeed welcome to comment and "vote" in the CFD discussion. • Hi, thank you for creating the list-article, which is a topic that needs to be covered, and for setting up a nice table with pics and more. The AFD discussion has already been closed with "Keep" decision. I hope you don't mind that I moved the the article you started to List of Greek Orthodox churches in the United States, for reasons explained at the AFD (a Greek Orthodox U.S.-only list is needed, and the first two entries were in that narrower area). See that I and User:E.M.Gregory added to the article. Your continuing to develop this list-article at its now-narrower scope would be great. Also feel free to start world-wide List of Greek Orthodox churches (currently a redlink) if that isn't created soon by me or someone else. Also please feel free to start List of Orthodox churches in the United States if you like, to link to the Greek Orthodox list and the corresponding Russian Orthodox and Coptic ones and more. Also feel free to contact me at my Talk page anytime. Keep up the good work! Cheers, --doncram 21:55, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
