Fantasia DVD

[edit]

Hi Visokor, Thanks for your message. This is very interesting! What country was your Fantasia DVD released in? I did a little Googling before answering your message. Sure enough there was a DVD release of the "Disney Classics" edition which is the same as the 1991 VHS and laser disc release. It has a running time of 117 minutes. But I think maybe it was only released in countries other than the US. The 2000 US DVD release is called "Fantasia - Special 60th Anniversary Edition". The box states "Never before released on DVD" and then goes on to say "complete with the intermission and narration which have not been included in the film since its original release!" Running time is 125 minutes. This was released as a single DVD and also in the 3-disc "Anthology" set. We should include this in the article. But...I would first like to know when and where the older "Disney Classics" version was released. DVDs only came on the market in 1998 or so. All the best, Mark Markhh (talk) 05:13, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's cool to know that there is a Fantasia DVD that includes Deems Taylor's real voice! I have been keeping my laser disc player all these years just so I could hear him when I wanted to. Cheers! Markhh (talk) 05:19, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, man! I've got the listing on Amazon.co.uk now to reference it. How odd that they released this older version outside of the US at the same time they released the restored version in the US! Disney will never fail to amaze me. Thanks again for the great info. Best, Markhh (talk) 06:51, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Descriptions"? Can you give me an example? Yes, the Sunflower edits have gotten more sophisticated over the years - using electronic means to re-size the frame or repeat frames to avoid any actual music being cut! It would be interesting to mention, but I think we need to wait until a reliable reference can be found. Markhh (talk) 22:39, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the program descriptions are good as they are - very short and to the point. As far as quoting Deems Taylor's comments verbatim, I think you're right. It really doesn't belong in the article. If there were another website that had his complete dialogue written out, it might be fun to include that as an external link. (By the way, to sign your comments on a talk page, all you have to do is add four of these characters: ~~ at the end of your message.) Cheers Markhh (talk) 23:09, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WANTED!

[edit]

I want this persistant vandal, IP: 68.45.241.10 blocked from this site permanently. the user is continuously vandalising the A-Lad-In His Lamp page, amongst other things. I want to see an immediate and indefinite block on this IP!

Regarding your warning....

[edit]

Warnings like this are probably inappropriate. Even if the IP is strictly vandalizing, I think you know you can handle it more tactfully that that... Sergecross73 msg me 23:26, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How? u need to block him immediately and permanently! he's vandalising Warner Bros. cartoon articles by putting in links to Aladdin (Disney version) articles which have absolutely nothing to do with Warner! Visokor (talk) 07:06, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How does that formally meet the definition of vandalism? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:14, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Because it is NOT related to Looney Tunes in any way whatsoever. Visokor (talk) 12:15, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, how does it formally meet the definition I linked to above? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:22, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know, but I put information on the talk pages of the following pages: A-Lad-In His Lamp, Ali Baba Bunny and Broom-Stick Bunny, saying about this affair. u should see the talk pages of the articles just mentioned. Visokor (talk) 12:24, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Phantom Blot (Epic Mickey).jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Phantom Blot (Epic Mickey).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:02, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Birds of a Feather (1931 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not Notable. See Wikipedia:Notability#Self-promotion_and_indiscriminate_publicity. Also: No reliable sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, Visokor. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Donald's Double Trouble, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

Main Page appearance: Horrible Histories (2009 TV series)

[edit]

This is a note to let the main editors of Horrible Histories (2009 TV series) know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on April 16, 2014. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at present, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/April 16, 2014. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:

Horrible Histories is a children's sketch-comedy adaptation of Terry Deary's long-running book series, produced by Lion Television with Citrus Television, that ran for five 13-episode series on Britain's CBBC from 2009 to 2013. Like the books, it was intended to foster childrens' interest in British and other Western world history through factual anecdotes chosen with a focus on "gross-out"-style humour and comic violence – "history with the nasty bits left in". The producers of the TV series recruited writers and performers with roots in the adult British comedy community. These in turn took a deliberately non-condescending approach, relying instead on such influences as Blackadder and the Monty Python films. A focus on historical accuracy was combined with a comedy style relying heavily on parodies of current UK pop-culture to make those facts more accessible, leading to takeoffs of Masterchef, The Apprentice and Wife Swap among others. The result won numerous domestic and international awards, including two British Comedy Awards and four consecutive Children's BAFTAs, and eventually garnered respect as a classic from viewers of all ages. Tree for Two

[edit]

No problem. Since there are already so many articles about Warner Bros. shorts, probably the easiest way to start is by using an article about another short as a base, and replacing the facts with info about Tree for Two. (Also, I'd suggest calling it Tree for Two instead of "Tree For Two.") Trivialist (talk) 17:25, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You can expand the plot if you want, but keep in mind that it's only a 6-7 minute short, so it doesn't have to be very long. Trivialist (talk) 18:22, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

About your edit on Frozen (2013 film)

Information icon Hello, I'm Forbidden User. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Frozen (2013 film), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Another sad fact of Wikipedia - the cover of the DVD, etc, are primary sources, and are usually not accepted. Meanwhile, there are lots of facts shown in the movie that I wished to include - before reading WP:Due weight, which prohibits trivial information. (Actually if we quote the movie itself it's WP:OR, anyway.) I'm not reverting it myself, as it'd look like edit warring. Vandalism?

Hi. Please have a look at the message I've just posted at Talk:BBC Two '1991–2001' idents#Time for a clean up and perhaps reconsider your revert! Thanks,  —SMALLJIM  11:27, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why you posted a message at User talk:DBigXray instead of talking to me, but I can assure you that as an admin, I am not vandalising articles! You've been here plenty long enough to be aware of our policies on verifiability etc. A self-revert at BBC Two '1991–2001' idents would be appreciated.  —SMALLJIM  11:47, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Following our short interchange on my talk page, can I have a response now, please? It was clearly not vandalism as you first claimed, and the only other argument you have offered is a form of WP:ILIKEIT, which is not valid either. I want to carry on with this clean-up of the article, so I will revert you unless you can provide a policy/guideline-based argument. I'll be happy to engage in discussion at the article's talk page, of course.  —SMALLJIM  08:49, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Since you haven't replied, I've assumed that your silence implies consent, and am redoing the removal of unreferenced content.  —SMALLJIM  12:26, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to the list of Horrible Histories episodes

[edit]

Hi there! I appreciate your interest in the accuracy of each sketch description, that's great. As it happens, I have about as encyclopedic a knowledge of each sketch as anyone does who isn't directly connected to the production (long story, which involves running an episode review blog), and I've gone over the article accordingly--but there's always going to be something missed somewhere, and I appreciate any and all help filling in the gaps.

Thing is, though, changes made simply for the sake of making them don't usually add much, and often devalue the whole. In particular... do I really have to explain why it's a bad idea to include that line re: Caligula's right hand? The reader doesn't need to know that to get the sense of the sketch (Caligula talks to a lot of inanimate things over the course of his sketches; it's a silly comic flourish, not an aspect of the real-life character) and as I mentioned it's open to really awkward misinterpretation--adding 'literal' in there just makes it worse. Hi Visokor. Sorry that your thread was unilaterally closed as "off topic", without you having a further reply. Wes Mouse is right, of course, the question was a bit off-topic. He's also right about the "American vibe" of the song. But I don't think he's right about the accent. I'd say that both singers sing that song in East coast American accents. To my ears the only "RP" accent that I can hear in the song is Larke's interjection "Oh yes!" And I think Wes Mouse is also wrong to suggest that their speaking accents have any connection with their singing accents, although again, to my ears, Larke sounds just as south-east England as Nicholas. But these are just my opinions. The use of the American accent has been so ubiquitous in British pop music, that's it hardly surprising no commentators saw it as noteworthy in this song. Pop cultural references

[edit]

Hi Visokor, though I appreciate your enthusiasm, resubmitting this content is not appropriate. For starters, as you know, per WP:BURDEN, the burden is on you to submit sources when content you add is challenged. Secondly, although you are probably 100% correct with your interpretation that some characters are based on Max Headroom and Quark, it is an interpretation nonetheless, and must come from reliable published sources. That's the epitome of WP:OR, which is described as facts ... for which no reliable, published sources exist. If the reliable published source for that exists, please add it. And if there was any further question, per MOS:TV, Meaning of pop cultural references should also not be included if they are not supported by citations of reliable secondary sources. Anyhow, it's nothing personal, but the content doesn't belong in the article until it can be sourced. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:15, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed you had edited Professor Layton. If you don't mind I'd like to ask you for help at List of Professor Layton Characters. The list was considered for deletion mainly because it had no sources. The request was dropped by the nominator after I promised to clean it up. However some help is needed with the sourcing. The basic characterizations might be simple to source with game reviews and such which might on the off-hand describe the character. Not the best of sources but good enough. Hello, Visokor. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, The Next Great Magician, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

April 2017 - Recent Edit

[edit]

Hi. This is to let you know that your edit to The Lego Batman Movie has been reverted. Although it's appreciated that you were correcting the edit of an IP User, the fact of the matter is that the movie, even if it is set after the events of The Lego Movie, is a spin-off of that movie, and should be stated as such in the Lead for this article. Your edit, and those of another and the IP User, were reverted back to the version by Oshwah, as a result.GUtt01 (talk) 21:40, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that you carefully read WP:COPYPASTE and WP:CV to understand the copyright policies of Wikipedia. Do not readd the violating content; Wikipedia takes a dim view on copyright violations, even if it comes in the form of reinstating offending edits. I notice you have continued to upload copyrighted content from other sources, namely plot descriptions for The Pink Panther (1993 TV series) despite multiple previous warnings over time. As a result, I have created an ANI notice to alert administrators to this fact.

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. AtomCrusher (talk) 18:39, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pingu (series 1), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for Deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. (talk page watcher) Visikor please take time to find out reliable source that can demonstrate notability, and add them into the article, when you revert an edit to remove the redirect and restore an article. If you dont do this then that article will anyway get removed by someone else if not Koavf. PPG Reboot

[edit]

Why do you keep reverting edits that truthfully claim that the PPG reboot is over? The show's ratings were so abysmal towards the end (during the 3rd season) that it would be insane to even begin production on a 4th season. And the pandemic is not a good excuse for saying the series is still ongoing, because it's very possible that production on the show ended well before the pandemic, and new episodes for other shows are still airing, as far as I know. However, to avoid edit warring, I've decided not to intervene and revert your edits just yet, nor do I plan to anytime in the near future. For now, I'll just wait and see what happens next. Information icon Please do not add uncited material to articles, as you did with this edit to ClanDestine. You've accumulated over 14,000 edits since 2007, so probably have read or been told by now that Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:32, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Hanna-Barbera's Christmas Sing-A-Long, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:43, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Decline reason:

That is not your Internet address. You can find your Internet address using a tool such as WhatIsMyIPAddress. Note in almost all cases, requests like this come from people who are using a proxy (or at least, an IP address serving as a proxy), so please be very sure before following up. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Do I need to disconnect from my network or something to check if that was the problem? I wasn't doing anything wrong, as far as I'm concerned. Visokor (talk) 14:02, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Robot Rabbit shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

It appears that you have already been warned for edit warring in the past, so your continued behavior smells of WP:IDHT; in addition, edit summaries like this aren't helpful. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 11:32, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Visokor. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Hanna-Barbera's Christmas Sing-A-Long!".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 22:55, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced editing

[edit]

I feel like I've seen your edits be undone on the grounds of failing to add a reliable source to verify what you're adding a number of times on Sonic articles in the last week or so. Are you understanding the issue here? If you need help understanding, I can try to explain. But if you just keep adding content without adding a source, you're going to end up getting your account blocked from editing temporarily. Sergecross73 msg me 18:56, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Visokor, I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary (only 15% of your edits have a summary which is appallingly low for an experienced editor). Just as concerning, on some occasions your edit summary is you shouting at other editors in capital letters. Please try to always fill in the summary field with a brief and civil summary of your edits. This helps your fellow editors and explaining your edits can also help you to avoid disputes. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Regards. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 01:08, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning - unsourced editing

[edit]

Hello Visokor. After seeing this unsourced edit you made, I reviewed your talk page and saw at least 8 separate warnings about not using sources. And you haven't stopped or addressed a single one of them.

This is your final warning - if you add/change Wikipedia without providing a source that verifies it again, you will temporarily be blocked from editing. You need to be following WP:V and WP:RS, and not violate WP:OR. If you need help on how to add sources, see WP:REFB. Sergecross73 msg me 18:30, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
