Before you talk to me.....

[edit]

Welcome to my talk page! If you are here for reasons relating to the removal of the Verizon Plus redirect, please scroll down to the bottom of the page. I would like to remind you that I am going on a Pink Sheeter/ NYSEr/ NASDAQer search. I am adding further trade info on major companies. Please inform me if you have any concerns. Thank you for your understanding. FOPFan300 22:27, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Hello and Welcome

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (Ipis209.195.82.87) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it resembles an IP address, which may confuse other users. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account to use for editing. Thank you. Daniel Case (talk) 04:23, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding non-free images to this list article. The use of non-free images on this article violates WP:NFLISTS. Further, none of the uses were justified with non-free rationales, which is a requirement of WP:NFCC #10c. I've re-removed the images. If you have questions, please ask. [edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page List of The Fairly OddParents DVD and VHS has been reverted.
Your edit here to List of The Fairly OddParents DVD and VHS was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://fairlyoddparents.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_The_Fairly_OddParents_DVD_and_VHS) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to an external Wiki, then please note that these links should generally not be included (see 'links to avoid' #12).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to MBTA Commuter Rail. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. –BMRR (talk) 18:26, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sprint

[edit]

Please do not re-add Liberty Media as the parent company of Sprint Nextel. Liberty owns a tiny stake (2%). Sprint is not a subsidiary of Liberty; there are likely investment banks that own larger stakes in Sprint. These are known as "institutional investors", but that doesn't make them parent companies. To quote the documentation of the company infobox: "If the article's subject company is a division or subsidiary of another company (commonly referred to as a holding company or a parent company), list the full legal name of the holding company or parent company in this field." That does not correctly describe the relationship between Liberty and Sprint. oknazevad (talk) 22:40, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect infobox

[edit]

There was no need to modify {{Infobox rail line}} to include "Reporting Marks", because that relates to information about a line or route, which does not have any marks, not the company that operates. You should be using {{Infobox rail}} instead. Secondarywaltz (talk) 15:23, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All right. But then I'm gonna do an infobox swap.
The need for a reporting mark is actually necessary. Some people have placed the {{Infobox rail line}} in several commuter rail articles, including this. I need to show the reporting marks of them in the infobox. Otherwise, I might as well replace them with the {{Infobox Public Transit}}, which Wikipedia doesn't recommend. What should I do?!?!?! (answer on my talk page please) Thank you. FOPFan300 21:49, 11 November 2011 (UTC) (moved the conversation here)
The correct Infobox should be used. The confusion usually comes about when a system has only one line. Secondarywaltz (talk) 05:22, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:MTV Networks logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Breaking formatting

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions, however, please do not introduce formatting-breaking edits like those you recently made to South Station and North Station. The |type parameter should not be used for stations using the MBTA infobox header; it messes up the carefully styled colored boxes. Additionally, your edit to North Station completely botched up the styling - you should have realized this in preview mode.

Additionally, please start using edit summaries. It makes tracking changes easier and provides transparency; Wikipedia guidelines say it's not optional: Wikipedia:FIES. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 23:44, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please tell me how I can add Amtrak station status info to the I-box without introducing that CRA you know what? Thank you! BTW, I just began to make heavy editing. (RESPOND HERE AND ADD TO MY TALK PAGE) Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 02:01, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you're asking about the |type parameter, the answer is simple: don't bother. It's better presented by the s-line templates under the |services parameter. For some reason, the infobox template happens to be such that the |type parameter always borks up the formatting on any colored header. I also feel that it messes with the clean look of the infobox, with a single header followed immediately by a picture. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 02:19, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'll accept that, though do you think it would be possible to switch the "MBTA" entry in the |style parameter to Amtrak? Then I can use the |type parameter at ease without messing the box. For the name, I will apply the MBTA Station name template to the name line. The North Station article already uses it. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 23:12, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, as I said, I personally prefer the clean look, where any information about the station goes below the picture. But that's a matter of personal preference and I'll leave it be for now - though I like the current look of North Station better. I made the South Station picture bigger and removed an irrelevant caption and that helped the look as well. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 00:44, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Estrella TV logo...

[edit]

I have removed all non-Libermann station uses of this logo in articles. The difference between this and Me and This is we use the customized local logos for those stations, which this is not, and overuse of a logo throughout the site violates WP:FAIRUSE. Please read the talk history of WP:TVS; this has already been addressed with This TV and TBN, and do not re-add the logo to the articles I have removed it from. Thank you. [edit]

...But the truth is most of your edits are not very helpful, at least in my opinion. They offer little else but redundancy. My issue with you is over the QUALITY of your edits. Take constructive criticism for what it is and don't cry "bully" when someone does offer it. DreamMcQueen (talk) 18:02, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fine then. But please read your talk page. I wanted to ask you something that made me come of with that conclusion. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 18:07, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Your quote: "I am so annoyed that you take the good organization out of the Wikipedia. I have explained to you clearly that the CBS affiliates list needs a link to the CBS TV Stations article in order to lessen the labour of having to run a search for such info on the independent stations and CW stations. I have also ran a search to determine wether or not they will remove the DMA system. They will not. While I appreciate the alphabetical ordering, PLEASE KEEP THE DMA NUMBERS ON THE ABC AFFILIATES LIST! I am thinking on warning the administrators on you before this gets too far, unless you can explain clearly to me why you have done the above. Thank you. Fairly OddParents Freak"
You need to take a chill pill and check out the archived discussion at WP:TVS. By the way, I'd appreciate if you would practice civility the next time you choose to leave me a message or I will report you for harassment. DreamMcQueen (talk) 17:24, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

CBS Mandate

[edit]

Hi. Outside Wikipedia itself, a Google search of the phrase "CBS Mandate" turns up only a couple of mentions on message boards and YouTube comments (neither of which are verifiable/reliable sources) and WP mirror sites. I would like to find an official source for the use of this phrase. Thanks. JTRH (talk) 18:34, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While there are FEW sources indeed on the CBS Mandate, I have added info on it because that term redirects on to the article in question. The articles on each station and the YT vids are enough proof on the standardization. Also keep in mind that "CBS Mandate" is a popular term for the standardization. I have added "so-called" to the end of the article to state so. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 18:52, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, and I'm not trying to provoke an argument, but the fact that something is mentioned enough times on Wikipedia and YouTube is not "proof" of anything. If it were a "popular term," it would show up in independent searches. It appears to be little-used industry jargon with no official status. Thanks. JTRH (talk) 18:59, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just keep it. YouTubers may find some sense in it. I do doubt if "CBS Mandate" is an official term as well. Otherwise, I'd suggest we find the relevant WikiProject and ask them to begin removing the term in it's entirety fro the Wikipedia. And BTW, I'm from Canada. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 19:02, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Citigroup 1999 logo.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. kashmiri 22:52, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

July 2012

[edit]

Your recent editing history at Tribune Company shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Toddst1 (talk) 15:33, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I acknowledge the war and regret any disruptions caused by this. You are advised to see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive759#Ongoing, Blatant Edit-Warring by User:DreamMcQueen Also note that I have Aspergers and my resulting behaviour can easily result in issues. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 15:45, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Of course I saw that. I closed it. Toddst1 (talk) 15:46, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • FOP1234, let me add another suggestion: stay away from DreamMcQueen. If you keep edit-warring with him, and if you leave one more such dramatic message on his talk page, I will block you. If you indeed have Asperger's then you should know better than to keep engaging him. You should seek drama-free articles to edit. Good luck. Drmies (talk) 02:24, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry!

[edit]

Hi Fairlyoddparents. You may notice that I've trimmed a little bit of text out of your editor review. I did this because you gave away a little too much personal information, and we try to keep people safe by hiding that sort of thing if they share it. I know it's a pain to have someone come along and wipe out part of your writing, but it would be best if you didn't share information like what I removed anywhere on Wikipedia. I wish you luck with your editor review. Happy editing! A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 18:00, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

CBS Records

There is a discussion in the Talk:CBS Records page which I'm asking you to get involved in. Your inquiry: "Ban User:Rollosmokes?"

[edit]

A total ban seems a bit extreme, in my humble opinion. As for a topic ban from WP:TVS, I will leave that up to you and other members of the community to decide. I simply don't know whether or not banning him from television stations alone will solve his page ownership problem. However, I would certainly endorse an interaction ban between you two, as you seem to be taking his words and actions much too personally. Rotorcowboy talk

Rollo has several socks, so it is evident he isn't stopping anytime soon. We have even had to delete articles his socks have created, which caused disruption to the community. A ban is necessary. - NeutralhomerTalk19:47, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This edit has been removed. The black and white logo of ABC is not a different logo to the one currently on the infobox. It is the same logo but in 2D. Saying that a logo is a different one because it's in 2D instead of 3D is POV.

During the 1970s, 1980s and 1980s, ABC had different color variants for its logo such as black, blue, yellow and even green. All of these colors have been used by ABC in the past on its logo. Are we to say that these were all different logos. Of course not. They were all the same logo but on different colors.

The logo currently in the article's infobox is the same logo that has been used since 1962. It's the same logo as the only that you added, but in different colors and dimensional spaces. If you prefer that we use the black and white version on the infobox instead of the blue 3D one, we can do this since the black and white version is still regularly used by ABC . But we don't need the same logo twice on the article under the pretext that it's an different dimensions. This fails both WP:N and WP:NPOV.

Please let me know if you prefer that we put the black and white on the infobox instead. Thanks. Farine (talk) 14:35, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If that is the case keep the 3D version, and place note of logo evolution. I don;'t think the 1948 ABC logo is necessary either... I don't think the article should be used as a logo gallery after all. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 22:04, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I had originally removed the 1946 logo this summer. But a user didn't seem too happy about this so I reinstated it. But in the case of the so-called "1962-2007" logo, it is the same logo, just in 2D. So it's hard to justify its presence when we already have the same logo elsewhere on the article.
I don't think it would be a good idea to place a note about the logo evolution. First, the image is on the infobox and it would be weird to place such note on the infobox. Secondly, the evolution of logo is hardly notable. The 1962 logo of ABC has been subject to several evolutions even before the switch to 3D in 2007. Thirdly, this so-called evolution is POV because many people don't consider this to be an evolution at all. Someone decided that the 3D logo was a different logo than the 2D one. Certainly not everyone share this opinion. By refraining of getting ourselves in all of this debate, we're respecting the neutrality of the matter. Farine (talk) 20:20, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So we should only place the current logo in all WP articles dealing with TV networks e.g Ion Television... Actually, I meant "The current ABC logo as of 2007" Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234)
I actually believe that NBC logos can do the talking here. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 22:10, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I do indeed believe that only one logo should be per television network. I would go as far as saying that articles such as NBC logos shouldn't even exist on Wikipedia.
I personally won't touch the 1946 ABC logo. But if you want to remove it, go ahead. Just be ready to provide a valid edit summary for your move. Cheers. Farine (talk) 22:54, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why delete all forms of logo history such as NBC logos? Let me guess , WP:NFCC.. But you'll receive huge criticism from The Television WikiProject. They actually turned down several deletion nominations. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 23:05, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I never said that I wanted to delete these articles. I just said that if it was for me, these articles wouldn't exist in the first place. Farine (talk) 23:13, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. You have very serious issues with images on articles. You would enjoy articles with no images at all. And I see that you are Canadian... Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 21:57, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can you provide an example (other than ABC that is)?Farine (talk) 00:38, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, what I mean is that you are against the archival of logos for discussion online. I wouldn't laugh if you were against the Logopedia hosted at Wikia. Go ahead and request the deletion of older logos. I dare you too. Oh, and by the way, look at Talk:American Broadcasting Company logos for reasons why you should not go way to far with logos. Edit warring on KNSD

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on KNSD. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Unfortunately, you are equally as guilty as the other user you tagged. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 02:38, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to point your attention to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 02:43, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I ran across this from your request at WP:RPP. Without looking into your concerns about the other editor, continually reverting other people's edits is generally considered edit warring. You should instead seek dispute resolution, such as waiting for another editor to build consensus, requesting input at related projects like WikiProject Television Stations, or posting at third opinion.—Bagumba (talk) 02:58, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well as a matter of fact, I'm planning to start a discussion on what comprises an owned and operated station at WT:TVS Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) 21:27, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Great. It's always good to get more editors involved when there is a deadlock. In the future, another compromise to edit-warring might be to use {{Disputed-inline}} for the text in question, alerting readers that the text is questionable while directing them to discuss.—Bagumba (talk) 22:35, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Fairlyoddparents1234. See the result of the edit warring complaint at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Spshu reported by User:Fairlyoddparents1234 (Result: Both warned). Further reverts by either party (before consensus is reached) run the risk of admin action. I am glad to see that an effort is being made at WT:TVS. You should make a note of that fact at Talk:KNSD in case the war breaks out again and admins have to look into it. It looks odd to see a furious revert war and then nothing at all on the talk page. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 05:33, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New World Communications television stations

[edit]

The nomination is nothing personal, just that the company has been defunct for twelve years and is little remembered by anyone outside of broadcast enthusiasts along with NW stations being considered de facto Fox-owned, and that the category is not needed. Script problem

[edit]

In this edit, there is no template named {{section}}. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 19:35, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I never made that edit. Must be an error I encountered with with Twinkle. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) C 14:41, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fairly,

Please revert these edits which removed a mass of redirects from the article. We aren't supposed to be removing redirects per WP:NOTBROKEN: "There is nothing inherently wrong with linking to redirects to articles. Some editors are tempted, upon finding a link to a redirect page, to bypass the redirect and point the link directly at the target page. While there are a limited number of cases where this is beneficial, it is generally an unhelpful exercise, and it can actually be detrimental." Also, you removed the hyphens from the WLW stations, even though the sources cited use hyphens (which is why I used the hyphens). I realize that the call signs are non-standard, but that is how they are displayed in the source. Firsfron of Ronchester 23:03, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I refuse to revert per WP:NOTANARCHY; don't exert force on me. Do it yourself and I promise I won't touch it. I personally believe avoidance of redirects are a good idea for featured lists. I'm actually fine with redirects on articles, but would rather see redirects removed on lists. If you like it like that, than I'll employ redirects on the DuMont and Paramount lists as well. Speeds up the JavaScript anyway. In the meantime, I have brought the attention of the WLW/ Crosley signs to WT:TVS. A tag has been placed on File:CWB logo.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

File transfers

[edit]

Helped Do I need to modify a file page when transferring a file to Commons? Like I know they are supposed to be on Commons as they are simple text or shapes, but they are marked as non-free. I'm afraid of violating policies... Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) C 17:31, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free files are not eligible for transfer to Commons. Does this answer your question? If not, please identify the file, so we can give more specific advice. --SPhilbrick(Talk) 17:35, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Like as in the wordmark logo of the Canadian Pacific Railway. It is free due to lack of originality, but I had uploaded it with a rationale for safety purposes... Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) C 17:39, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If it doesn't pass the threshold of originality (and I agree it does not) you can add the following template to the file description page
{{PD-textlogo}}
If you believe the image is subject to trademark, which seems possible, but I just don't know, you can also add the following template:
{{trademarked}}
You should change the FUR template to an information template.
Then there is no need to arrange for transfer to Commons, it should happen automatically.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 18:23, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've analyzed W:File:Canadian Pacific wordmark.svg. It is simple and does not seem elaborate. PD-Text is good... Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) C 18:26, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So if it does fall on public domain due to simplicity, just modify the file page, right? Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) C 18:31, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hope you don't mind if I answer. Yes, if you believe the logo does not meet the Threshold of originality then you would replace {{Non-free logo}} with {{PD-textlogo}} and {{trademark}}, and the fair use rationale with {{Information | description = | source = | date = | author = }}. It's the regular CW logo with the current "46" next to it; it's easily described in text, so I knew exactly what I was doing and don't care about deletion one way or the other. Nate (chatter) 04:50, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you'd want to consider Commons or deletion soon, especially after July 1. BTW, I don't see no CW logo. Fairly OddParents Freak (Fairlyoddparents1234) T | C Member: WP:TVS 23:35, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The current logo has been placed in PD so it doesn't matter if its deleted or not. And again, I have described the CW logo in text; it's not needed in the least as the "46" has remained the same since 2011 and will remain so. Nate (chatter) 00:21, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm not sending it to Commons. It's not needed there. I find the entire 'send a logo to Commons' process very clumsy to begin with. Nate (chatter) 22:10, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Marchex has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable company. No evidence of awards or in depth coverage in independent reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 06:06, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to participate in the 50,000 Challenge, aiming for 50,000 article improvements and creations for articles relating to the United States. This effort began on November 1, 2016 and to reach our goal, we will need editors like you to participate, expand, and create. See more here!

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Vivendi old logo.gif

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Vivendi old logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
