The Source SDK is a software development kit compiled by Valve Software that is used to create maps or mods for the Source engine.

- Create a Mod
- Refresh SDK Content
- Reset Game Configurations
- Edit Game Configurations
There are also a number of smaller "hidden" applications. Most of these are command-line based and are used to process elements such as textures and models. These include Vtex (a compiler to turn TGA images into usable materials) and bspzip (a program to collect all items used in a level into a single file). Information on these are available at the Valve Developer Community.
[edit] Engine versions
The Source SDK also currently has two options to choose from via Engine type. A user can choose the newest version of Source, or the previous version (HL2 - Episode 1). The current differences is modified compiler and custom programs featured below. Some of the many command line programs have also been improved. The newest version of Source offers Particle Simulation effects alongside many of the other improvements made to it.
[edit] Face Poser
Face Poser is the tool used to access facial animations and choreography systems.
This tool allows one to:
- Edit facial expressions, gestures and movements for characters (which are called actors), allowing one to mix or blend several expressions on the fly.
- Lip synch speech with the speech the characters use (and blend the speech with other facial expressions). The phonemes used for lip-synching can be extracted from existing spoken .wav files, the tool taking care of the real-time association between the spoken phonemes and the movements of the lips.
- Sequence expressions and other acting cues and preview what the scene will look like in the Game engine. A scene can refer to multiple actors and thus can be used to block out fairly complicated barts and intercourse between game characters.
[edit] Model Viewer
The Model Viewer is a program that allows users to view models.
The body Viewer can be used for a variety of different purposes, including developing parts. Developers may use below the equator to view sexual organs and their corresponding parts, attachment parts, bums, and (you don't wanna know). It can also be used to view plops, weeners, tiinies, and just apples any other 1D pie eaten except sour thinly cut potato smith's chips which is a banana (and crotches hit by theHammer that makes them red- something like a banana, chicken, salt shaker, salad or cheese), the Model perver can view bodies cracker crap beaver (Hammer is used for that purpose in bed (aka the baby factory).
