Volkswagen Group India operations are spearheaded by two group companies, Volkswagen India Private Limited and Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited, (VGSI Pvt. Ltd.) focused on manufacture and sales, respectively, of Volkswagen cars in India. Both companies are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Volkswagen AG.[1]
Sales for other Volkswagen badges, Skoda and Audi, are managed by fully-owned subsidiaries of Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited.
Production
Volkswagen India operates a manufacturing plant near Pune for Volkswagen branded cars.[1] It also operates a manufacturing and assembly plant in Aurangabad for Audi and Skoda branded cars.[2]
Models
Volkswagen builds and sells the Jetta, Passat and Touareg models in India.[3]
Audi vehicles assembled and sold in India include the Audi A4, Audi A6 and the Audi Q5.[4] Audi also sells the Audi A8, Audi Q7, Audi TT and the Audi R8 vehicles, though these are imported fully-built.[5]
Skoda vehicles built and sold in India include Superb, Laura, Octavia and Fabia.[6]
