First Ladies of Colombia

Hello Alex, thank you for creating articles on First Ladies of Colombia. However, it is important that you include references for the articles that you create – you cannot just write an article without any sources that verify the statements in the article. if you do not add reliable sources it is possible that another editor may nominate the articles for deletion as it does not demonstrate that the subject is notable. Thank you. Richard3120 (talk) 20:08, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cecilia de la Fuente Cortés moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Cecilia de la Fuente Cortés, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Information icon Hi AlexExpensive! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Manuel II of Portugal, you may be blocked from editing. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Order of the Liberator, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages President of China and Prince Henry of Prussia. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Catherine Daza requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — Manticore 01:31, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, AlexExpensive,
It is best to create and develop articles in Draft space or User space like your Sandbox. Articles put directly into the main space of the project are subject to review and can be deleted if they don't meet Wikipedia's standards for completeness and adequate sourcing.
If you have questions about article creation or Wikipedia's deletion policies, please bring them to the Teahouse. Liz Read! Talk! 01:35, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Álvaro Rincón

Hello, AlexExpensive,

Thank you for creating Álvaro Rincón.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references to satisfy notability for biography of living persons. What is needed are references giving significant coverage about this person, and independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are reliable - WP:RS; that is your guide.

You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources.
Pages of photographs, mentions of this person on pages about other topics do not garner notability. Material written by this person does not garner notability.

A more comprehensive guide is WP:BASIC ... People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. Lack of attention to the above is likely to mean that the article may not be suitable for inclusion.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

The article Carolina Cruz has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails the requirements of WP: ANYBIO.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I have converted this back to a redirect- the refs are mostly routine news and discuss the incumbent instead of the actual position. I don't think WP:GNG is met, however, if you could provide more refs that would be great! VickKiang (talk) 04:38, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Colombian Presidential Line of Succession has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the entry on the Templates for discussion page. Richard3120 (talk) 14:35, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi as I said in my message about Pascual Bravo, when you translate material from another wiki, it is a requirement of Wikipedia that you properly credit the source. Please see WP:TFOLWP Mccapra (talk) 05:21, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And I will add to this, please CHECK the translation and your articles afterwards. The articles you create are full of errors, and I don't mean just translation errors... I can accept these errors, as English is not your first language. But this article repeatedly referred to Mr. Luna as "she/her" throughout... I'm sure you know enough English to be able to correct these errors. You even stated in the article Presidency of Gustavo Petro that he beat María Fernanda Cabal in the presidential election... that's not a error due to imperfect English, that's just a plain incorrect fact, added due to lack of care. Richard3120 (talk) 22:38, 30 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Translation errors

Please, PLEASE check your translations from the Spanish Wikipedia. Look at the references sections for Edwin Besaile and Alejandro Lyons - they are an unreadable mess and full of red text, because they are still using parameters with Spanish words which the English Wikipedia doesn't understand. You have to change every one of these references to the correct parameters in English.

Also, please don't make up your own titles for the sources - use the exact titles that the source uses in its headline, even if it is in Spanish. Thank you. Richard3120 (talk) 02:14, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello AlexExpensive! Your additions to First 100 days of Gustavo Petro's presidency have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:51, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Flag of the President of Colombia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:HOAX: Article with false and speculative information, the references given do not mention anything said in the body of the article

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Information icon Hello, I'm JalenFolf. I noticed that you recently removed all content from Total peace. Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from President of Colombia into List of vice presidents of Colombia. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 23:53, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Vice presidents and Designates are not part of the cabinet. Coups d'etat are not sucessions

Do NOT confuse "Cabinet Members" with Vice Presidents and / or Designates. In many cases, Vice Presidents and Designates were not part of the presidential cabinet (ministers). For example, during governments of Carlos Lleras Restrepo, Misael Pastrana and Alfonso López Michelsen, the designate was Julio César Turbay, who was not in the cabinet (he was Ambassador to UN, USA and UK, but he was not minister). Same case of Álvaro Gómez, designate under Belisario Betancur. Gómez had neither office in Betancur's cabinet nor any embassy.

On the other hand, you include some cases of coup d'etat as "successions", e.g. Marroquin vs Sanclemente and Rojas Pinilla vs Laureano Gómez. These cases are not legal successions and are not ruled by Constitution or law as to be considered as "successions". Marroquin and Rojas were presidents de facto.Rafa XIII (talk) 04:36, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

They could be considered successions, "Marroquin" was the vice president of San Clemente, while "Rojas Pinilla" was General of the Military Forces appointed by Laureano Gómez AlexExpensive (talk) 04:58, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And if you have said it yourself, they were presidents unconstitutionally but at the end of the day they were successions that brought the respective vice president and general of the military forces to the presidency. AlexExpensive (talk) 05:00, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
These cases were NOT successions, because there are not any Constitutions nor laws that rule the procedure of succession by performig a coup d'etat. Following your ridiculous position, the assassination of a rulling president could be regarded as a "succession".Rafa XIII (talk) 00:10, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because you insist on adding the interim presidents to the succession list, when they only served as president temporarily and not definitively. AlexExpensive (talk) 05:15, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That is essence of the succession procedure: To ensure that in any condition there is someone carrying out the duties andf responsibilities of the presidential office. An interin president, for all legal and constitutional effects DO SUCCEEDS a death/ill/resigned/remove/absent president to avoid that the government is without a visible head and commander in chieff. During the time, no matter if it's one day, one month or one year, that someone remains as interin president, that person IS the president.Rafa XIII (talk) 00:22, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jorge Holguín and Ramón González Valencia, acting Presidents

You insist in deleting the names of Ramón González Valencia and Jorge Holguín as acting Presidents, when they replaced the resigning Presidents Rafael Reyes and Marco Fidel Suárez. Of course they were acting Presidents, because they were not elected to run a full term in office for each one, but to COMPLETE the terms of the resigning Presidents.

In the case of Reyes, the term established by Constitution was six years (1904-1910), but he resigned in 1909, with one year remaning to rule. The position of Vice President had been eliminated. Holguín was in charge of the office until the Congress elected a designate (Ramón González Valencia) TO COMPLETE the term of Reyes, not to run a full term as President. So that, by definition, González was an acting President, NOT a full term President.

In the case of Marco Fidel Suárez, the situation is even clearer. Suárez resigned in 1921, remaining one year to finish his four-year term (the Constitucion reform of 1910 had shortened the presidential term from six to four years), and the designated, elected by the Congress was Jorge Holguín, who COMPLETED the Suarez's term. Newly, going to the definition, Holguín was an acting President for nearly one year, NOT a full term President.Rafa XIII (talk) 01:17, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I respect the fact that you consider my edit disruptive. My contribution to Wikipedia is not applauding from indifference. Some of the errors I have seen. In the case of the article by "María Cristina Arango Vega", I agree that her name must be the same in all the languages in which the article is available. Your blocking is not only indifferent but also disproportionate, I am not a person who seeks to destroy Wikipedia. It is a great contribution from my generation to this community to which I have joined because it agrees with my values and with the great interest that we both have in history, culture, art and we both conclude that information must be universal. . I agree that the blockade that is carried out against me on your part.
