Xbox 360 system software page

Hi, I just wanted to directly respond to your question in regards to the Closed Beta removal. There are some betas that are fully a "closed beta" that members of the Microsoft Connect service (such as myself) did not get a chance to really test. There are versions of the Xbox 360 system software that were made public, but only to those Microsoft Connect members. I don't have the exact version numbers all of the betas.

I started the beta additions because other editors of this article were improperly naming items for the system software list. Like I said, I had removed the version number for the new dashboard set to be released this fall. Mainly because the version number was not that much higher in regards to what I have been through since (approximately) 2008. With the "Preview Program" via Microsoft Connect, members of Xbox LIVE can experience a first hand look at the upcoming Xbox LIVE system software before the public. This service was started by Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson (Larry Hryb), and it also helps with testing the software on the majority of consoles that Xbox has released. The latest console being the Xbox 360 S, revealed at the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) 2010. I believe that the "S" console is the 5th generation.

Anyway, back to the point on hand, the version number that you may have on hand may just be a "private" beta version. If you kept the beta versions listed on the page, you would see how frequent that the dashboard is updated "behind closed doors". With every kind of software/firmware, there's always going to be a handful of bugs. That's mainly the reason why I would not provide a direct version of the next dashboard that will not be released until at least November 2011.

To make a long story short, the current build number of the dashboard is labeled 13146. The build number you listed was labeled 13150. Again, with how many internal betas, and Microsoft Connect betas there could be over the next 5 months, build number 13150 will most likely be outdated.

I apologize for any confusion I may have caused you.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Thefalcon2k (talkcontribs) 08:33, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I completely understand now, and I'm glad to be on the same page as you. If you wish to add me on Xbox LIVE, my Wikipedia name is the same as my Xbox LIVE Gamertag. As for the version numbers, we will see what happens, and I will be glad to inform you when public beta testing for the next dashboard is available! Shouldn't be hearing anything about that until (at least) the end of September. May be the first or 2nd week of October at the latest.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Thefalcon2k (talkcontribs) 08:54, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your edits on the Xbox 360 system software. From what I've seen all of your edits, even the small subtle ones, always improve the article. Just wanted to let you know they are noticed and appreciated. :) SudoGhost 05:34, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

re: "WebOS version history"

(as a reply to something that was already archived on my talk page) Copyrights aside, I don't think it could be its own article, as there is already stuff mentioned in webOS#Version history. My concern is that too much over-detailed information would be added and information which otherwise could be easily accessed on the relevant sites more conveniently. That's my opinion, though. –MuZemike 03:48, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I do appreciate vv much your concern + efforts, and many thanks. ;-)
I've been meaning to to something about the length of that page for a long time, but haven't found enough time to dedicate to that project, yet.
If I may, another way of splitting that page would have been by categories: (1) live-action; (2) animation, anime, puppetry + stop-motion: see details @ my sandbox page.
Also, I'm in the process of converting alphabetical listings to tables, which should have reduced the page size, because the table contains the genre information, thus making the list page by genre obsolete. Of course, this is a daunting + time consuming task, and I'll take probably a few months to complete it.
FYI, I did notice broken ref code [ref # 45] at this page. Do you have time to fix it by recovering the original refs? If not, I'll get to it in the next couple of days, I always keep a copy of the huge version.
Template:Sftvprog, Template:Sftvindex + Template:Sftvpr contents are also broken now, they need updating with new wiki URLs for all letters + the genre page chapters. Those templates also need to be copied over to the other pages, to point to the main page and the other letters.
Also, I noticed the double dash [–] has been lost in some places [i.e. 0-9 instead of 0–9], and replaced with simple dashes [-]. Those need to be fixed too.
Thanks again for all your hard work. ;-)
MDGx 22:02, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Very nice work indeed, thanks a million for all the time you're putting into this tedious task. ;-)
I haven't noticed other glitches, but if I do, I'll either fix them [when I have enough time] or let you know.
Tx again. ;-)
MDGx 08:01, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The table model I used as template is posted the 1 at my sandbox page. I manually put in each TV show/film. The before-the-last column [called Genre] is for adding in the genre(s), and requires searching the entire genres page, extracting that info [all genres that list respective show/film], and adding it in. Then the respective show/film itself can be deleted (of course) from the genres page.
It's even trickier when it comes to franchises, please see the list of SF TV progs 0-9 table as example of franchise ["20,000 Leagues Under the Sea"].
Tx bunches 4 doing this, it is tedious and time consuming, and I do *appreciate* your work. ;-)
HTH [hope this helps]
MDGx 20:12, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's ok, you can post them at my sandbox page if that's what you wish. May be some delay until I get tot it though.
About the splitting: it's probably ok (for now), the size of each letter section would have become larger over time, as I plan on adding new shows whenever I find out about them. The only thing [from my point of vue] is now it's hard to search for the right place(s) to add on/update/correct/etc, since there are 27 pages instead of 1. But for now I guess we can make it work. ;)

Raymond Burr

I though that I should let you know, though I imagine you would notice in any event, that I researched and did a lot of rewriting of Raymond Burr, who appears quite clearly to have been gay. I'd be happy to discuss the issue and how I've treated it. I find it helps to get a lot of facts on the table. I hate reading a squabble about whether Starr's book is reliable or not. Instead I've pulled out quotes from his book and others. The people are reliable, around to contest what Starr wrote when he published, and varied. I've put some interesting quotes in the citations. (I'm not going on to Rick Hudson. I don't usually work on Hollywood bios -- I'm going back to 1950's politics and stuff like that.) Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 18:07, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the changes you've made. Before, the article read like a tabloid, but now, it's looking very good. :) My concern at the time was that the sources looked questionable at the time, but after the work you put into it, I agree with you and of course inclusion of the LGBT categories. kiranerys(u,c) 19:45, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProjeck Arizona

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Arizona, to which you are a member, may be inactive or semiactive and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. After reviewing the project it appears that there haven't been much active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the projects talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. Another user has added the project to the WPUS template and I added it to the list of supported projects in the WPUS main project page but before I take any further action I wanted to contact each of the active members for their input. --Kumioko (talk) 13:31, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Arizona

Greetings. I noticed you removed yourself from the membership of WikiProject Arizona as an inactive project. I have added it to the list of Supported projects of WikiProject United States recently and over the next few months I am going to be trying to get these projects going again. I hope in the future you might consider rejoining the project. --Kumioko (talk) 01:30, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In all honesty, had WikiProject Arizona not been declared inactive, I probably would've removed myself anyway. I wasn't really contributing as much to it, and wouldn't've been a useful member.. Thanks though.. :) kiranerys(u,c) 02:28, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I was not able to immediately respond to you yesterday. I got distracted by a few improvements to the template structure. I added the ability to input date ranges for non-permanent members of the UN Security Council. Being worn down by this kind of work is normal so don't feel bad :p. -- とある白い猫 chi? 08:30, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
Hey, no problem! Thank you for the barnstar! :D Anyway, I got to all that I can, and it appears I've been caught up to on the start dates so I went reverse alphabetical, but skipping Luxembourg, and some others (I'll try and gather what I skipped here soon. Let me know if you need any more Wiki-adventuring! I'm so down! :D kiranerys(u,c) 17:55, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, redlinks on that page need to be created as well :) Also there is a need for UNSC ranges. -- とある白い猫 chi? 20:09, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
I should be on IRC around GMT 02:00 or later around GMT 04:00... We can discuss the redlink creation stuffy then, I can assist with that as well.. :) kiranerys(u,c) 21:40, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
