London Buses route 339 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Shadwell and Leytonstone stations, it is operated by Tower Transit.

History

Route 339 commenced operating on 28 October 2000 between Shadwell station and Fish Island via Stepney, Mile End and Old Ford. It was initially operated by First London with Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Darts.

Upon being re-tendered, the route was retained by First London with new contracts commencing in October 2005[1] and October 2010.[2]

On 10 September 2011, the route was extended from Fish Island to Stratford City bus station to coincide with the opening of Westfield Stratford City.[3]

On 22 June 2013, route 339 was included in the sale of First London's Lea Interchange garage to Tower Transit.[4][5] On 31 August 2013, the route was extended to Leytonstone station via Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park becoming one of the few bus routes to serve Stratford International station and East Village developments.[6]
