WRVQ is a Contemporary Hit Radio formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Richmond, Virginia, serving Central Virginia. WRVQ is owned and operated by Entercom Communications.[2]
Ownership Change
On November 1, 2017, iHeartMedia announced that WRVQ, along with all of their sister stations in Richmond and Chattanooga, will be sold to Entercom due to that company's merger with CBS Radio.[3] The sale was completed on December 19, 2017.[4]
WRVQ-HD2
WRVQ-HD2 airs a classic rock format branded as "96.1 The Planet", also heard on FM translator W241AP 96.1 FM Midlothian, Virginia.[5]
