The Spam-whitelist page is used in conjunction with the Mediawiki SpamBlacklist extension, and lists strings of text that override Meta's blacklist and the local spam-blacklist. Any administrator can edit the spam whitelist. Please post comments to the appropriate section below: Proposed additions (web pages to unblock), Proposed removals (sites to reblock), or Troubleshooting and problems; read the messageboxes at the top of each section for an explanation. See also MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist.

Please enter your requests at the bottom of the Proposed additions to Whitelist section and not at the very bottom of the page. Sign your requests with four tildes: ~~~~

Also in your request, please include the following:

    1. The link that you want whitelisted in the section title, like === example.com/help/index.php === .
    2. The Wikipedia page on which you want to use the link
    3. An explanation why it would be useful to the encyclopedia article proper
    4. If the site you're requesting is listed at /Common requests, please include confirmation that you have read the reason why requests regarding the site are commonly denied and that you still desire to proceed with your request

Important: You must provide a full link to the specific web page you want to be whitelisted (leave out the http:// from the front; otherwise you will not be able to save your edit to this page). Requests quoting only a domain (i.e. ending in .com or similar with nothing after the / character) are likely to be denied. If you wish to have a site fully unblocked please visit the relevant section of MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist.

Note: Do not request links to be whitelisted where you can reasonably suspect that the material you want to link to is in violation of copyright (see WP:LINKVIO). Such requests will likely be summarily rejected.

There is no automated notification system in place for the results of requests, and you will not be notified when your request has a response. You should therefore add this page to your personal watch list, to your notifications through the subscribe feature, or check back here every few days to see if there is any progress on it; in particular, you should check whether administrators have raised any additional queries or expressed any concerns about the request, as failure to reply to these promptly will generally result in the request being denied.

    Completed requests are archived, additions and removal are logged. →snippet for logging: {{/request|1159560200#section_name}}

Note that requests from new or unregistered users are not usually considered.

Notice to everyone about our Reliable sources and External links noticeboards

If you have a source that you would like to add to the spam-whitelist, but you are uncertain that it meets Wikipedia's guideline on reliability, please ask for opinions on the Reliable sources noticeboard, to confirm that it does meet that guideline, before submitting your whitelisting request here. In your request, link to the confirming discussion on that noticeboard.

Likewise, if you have an external link that you are uncertain meets Wikipedia's guideline on external links, please get confirmation on the External links noticeboard before submitting your whitelisting request here.

If your whitelist request falls under one of these two categories, the admins will be more willing to have the source whitelisted if you can achieve consensus at one of the above noticeboards.

Proposed additions to Whitelist (web pages to unblock)

    topwar.ru

Links requested to be whitelisted: Link requested to be whitelisted: https://topwar.ru/8071-opytnyy-sredniy-tank-obekt-907.html

    The entire domain name if possible: topwar.ru: Linksearch en (insource) - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:frSpamcheckMER-C X-wikigs • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced - RSN • COIBot-Link, Local, & XWiki Reports - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: searchmeta • Domain: domaintoolsAboutUs.com

Topwar is a reliable source for all soviet military vehicles projects including tanks, this unblocking is necessary for a lot of Wikipedia pages that speak about soviet tanks. This site is more reliable than several English sites. Cordially

Not done Whitelisting the entire domain is the same as removing from the blacklist, and that's [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Spam-blacklist/archives/January_2020#State_sponsored_fake_news unlikely to be supported. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:27, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    kickstarter.com

Link requested to be whitelisted: www.kickstarter.com/projects/dwarvenforge/wildlands-by-dwarven-forge-handcrafted-modular-game-terrain {{LinkSummary|kickstarter.com}} Understandably, links to Kickstarter are usually inappropriate attempts to promote fundraising. There are some exceptions already in the whitelist. In this case, I would like to link to a completed campaign to document how Kickstarter is used as a key element of a long-term business model developed by the subject of my article for a particular company that he co-founded. Their use of Kickstarter over the course of many years has been notably successful without any links from Wikipedia and I don't intend this link to have any particular effect on future fundraising. The only purpose is as a citation to a statement of fact. The article I'm working on is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Stefan_Pokorny_(designer) and the link would be referenced following the statement "continues to fund operations as of 2023." Thank you for your consideration. Kstern999 (talk) 16:18, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    famousbirthdays.com

Link requested to be whitelisted: https://www.famousbirthdays.com/people/bryant-moreland.html Nothing on this particular page seems to be false, unreliable, or libelistic.— Preceding unsigned comment added by AugustusAudax (talkcontribs)

Not done You're trying to re-create an article that has been deleted eight times at three different places, including a formal discussion here. If you're going to step in to that, you will need to focus on rock-solid reliable sources, and 'FamousBirthdays' is in no way that. Several prior disucssions at WP:RSN have noted the site is clearly not reliable; I would suggest starting a new discussion there that outlines the basis for your feelings that the site is now an accurate source with editorial oversight suitable for use on controversial [[WP:BLP]s of marginally notable youtube personalities. payravi.xyz

Link requested to be whitelisted: payravi.xyz

This is a personal request. The RealMe extension was recently added to Wikipedia, allowing users to verify external profile links on their user page (namely Mastodon). My personal Mastodon server and profile is located at payravi.xyz, and I'd like to link it from my userpage. The entire .xyz TLD is (very reasonably) currently blacklisted on Wikipedia. Thank you! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 14:56, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    @SuperHamster: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist. --Legoktm (talk) 03:39, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    mara.xyz

Link requested to be whitelisted: https://www.mara.xyz/

For Mara_(technology_company). This is the legitimate site of the company. xyz domains are increasingly in use by legitimate crypto companies, so the entire TLD should not be blacklisted. Thank you. Gr33nshorts (talk) 22:11, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    change.org

Link requested to be whitelisted: www.change.org/p/woollahra-municipal-council-save-gaden-house-neville-gruzman-s-modernist-masterpiece-in-sydney-s-east The petition above was an important social instrument that successfully saved the Gaden House building in Sydney, Australia from significant changes. The petition is an important part of the history of the building. The link will help the Gaden House section on wiki page Neville Gruzman. moz.com

The page has valid information about Google Tag Manager which I think should be included in the article. It should be a reliable source because moz appears to be providing SEO services, which include the use of Google Tag Manager.

    lulu.com

For WP:Media copyright questions, to work out the copyright status of different versions of a notable book's cover. Obviously not reliable for any articles, but not going to be used in any articles either -- it's purely as part of a projectspace discussion. Vaticidalprophet 12:13, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed removals from Whitelist (web pages or link patterns to re-block)

    safehome.org

Link requested to be whitelisted: safehome\.org

We were the culprit of blackhat SEO spam. Before being notified that we were blocked, we had many mentions from Wikipedia, and our competitors knew how to get us on the blacklist. We are one of the top sites in the home security review space. Were do extensive research for the industry (see safehome.org/resources/crime-statistics-by-state/: Linksearch en (insource) - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:frSpamcheckMER-C X-wikigs • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced - RSN • COIBot-Link, Local, & XWiki Reports - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: searchmeta • Domain: domaintoolsAboutUs.com and were even covered in the NY Times a couple of days ago at nytimes.com/2023/05/24/us/politics/ron-desantis-fact-check.html: Linksearch en (insource) - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:frSpamcheckMER-C X-wikigs • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced - RSN • COIBot-Link, Local, & XWiki Reports - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: searchmeta • Domain: domaintoolsAboutUs.com .      Not done If you're asking for this link to be removed from the blacklist, we don't do that on behalf of site owners. OhNoitsJamie Talk 19:11, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply but can you tell me how I can request our domain to be taken off of the blacklist then? 76.176.74.233 (talk) 13:12, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can't, Wikipedia doesn't take requests for removals from site owners. MrOllie (talk) 13:16, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
well that's unfortunate that someone can spam a competitor's site, get them blacklisted, and then they win. 76.176.74.233 (talk) 14:24, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So nothing can be done here? I can have my site sabotaged by a competitor and I remain on the blacklist forever? 76.176.74.233 (talk) 13:52, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can move on on find some other venue to advertise your site. These links aren't of any use to Wikipedia. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:29, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

    language.metaproject.frl

Link requested to be whitelisted: language.metaproject.frl

Yesterday, I added the Meta programming language to a few lists of programming languages that other languages influenced. I saw that several entries were removed, so I had the following discussion about it with the editor:

    https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer_Diskussion:מקף#Your_removal_of_the_Meta_programming_language_as_influenced_by_the_Logo_programming_language

Today, following those directions, I wanted to add the entries as references with a footnote, but found that the referenced link is blacklisted.

This is unfortunate, because the link is to the official project of a legitimate programming language that descends from those other programming languages, as described on its site:

Further, the same site hosts other projects that have had lemmas and links on Wikipedia for many years:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syllable_Desktop

    https://syllable.metaproject.frl

    https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/AtheOS

    https://atheos.metaproject.frl

This is English Wikipedia; we don't handle anything having to do with German Wikipedia here. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:58, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    It's on the global blacklist. 2A02:A420:67:84E3:B4DD:9FFF:FE0F:9CB5 (talk) 15:04, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We don't handle that either here. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:15, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was referred here by the instructions in the info. Could you please tell me where I should make a whitelisting request regarding the global blacklist? 2A02:A420:67:84E3:B4DD:9FFF:FE0F:9CB5 (talk) 15:19, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you're trying to add the link to German Wikipedia, you'd make the whitelist request on German Wikipedia. I see no reason to whitelist the link to English Wikipedia as there's no indication it's a notable lanaguage. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:25, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would assume they wouldn't handle the global blacklist, like you. Contributing to Wikipedia is like a maze, I could really use a pointer here. 2A02:A420:67:84E3:B4DD:9FFF:FE0F:9CB5 (talk) 15:28, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Could somebody please advise me where I should discuss the global blacklist? 2A02:A420:67:84E3:B4DD:9FFF:FE0F:9CB5 (talk) 15:48, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
[1], but that's only for removals, which is not likely to happen given your campaign which led to the blacklisting. I have no idea how German or other language Wikipedia handle whitelistings. I suggest finding some other way to promote your project besides Wikipedias. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:51, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I'm just an occasional contributor to Wikipedia for many years, usually just fixing typos. I've never had problems before, including updating links for projects I follow. I'm not adding lemmas with high notability requirements, so I'm not versed in larger Wikipedia editing. 2A02:A420:67:84E3:B4DD:9FFF:FE0F:9CB5 (talk) 16:08, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
