Hello Wgolf. Yesterday I updated the VII Photo Agency page with the most current information. While I understand that the member links I attempted to add were not acceptable, I was hoping you could replace the intro, history, and member list sections with the newly edited versions. Thank you!

Harry McDonald

Thanks for reviewing Harry McDonald. Just a brief note to explain the disambiguation thing. On creating the page, "what links here" produced a long list of American athletes. Searched the pages but no mention of a Harry McDonald. To be on the safe side I then moved the page to the disambiguated title, but the links still persisted. With the help of another user it was eventually discovered that all the athletes' articles had a template containing the name (early 20thC athlete; no wiki page). Template was fixed and I did not want to move the page back again until I felt it safe to do so. So thanks for doing that...and all is well. Eagleash (talk) 10:24, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

Dead easy way round the translation problem - a bit like the Gordian Knot solution. I've removed them as a copyvio - either they are the lyrics of the film, in which case they are copyright, or they are made up by whoever runs the blogspot site linked to, in which case they are copyright. Thought you might be interested in this SPI as two of the people I believe are linked were previously blocked as socks of TheDevNegi, an investigation you started (the 2nd investigation). This is my 3rd SPI for Richa101091, the obvious sock targets are Indian film related topics. What I have found is that many times these users have already been accused of socks of other users. During the 1st investigation I only listed about 4 accounts, and Check User ended up coming up with about 10 more. Armored Group

Just saw your edit to Armored group (military unit) which I created earlier today. Can un-orphan it with some help. I found that 5th Armored Group is an article in Wikipedia, but it is mislabelled as 5th Tank Group. As I said in a post to Buckshot06, "Armor" as opposed to "Tank" is the correct term as verifiable in numerous contemporaneous official documents. Help me rename that page—or more accurately, rename it for me (Pleez!)—and there is an opportunity for both articles to reference the other. Thanks for noticing. Hi @Wgolf:, I have edited and redirected a page for a South Indian Singer KAUSHIK MENON (Kaushik Menon (singer)) , which was previously created by someone else as User:Kaushikmenon.singer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Kaushikmenon.singer), since there should not be any duplicate pages as per Wikipedia norms.

I am writing this to inform you that I have added sources and citations in the article Kaushik Menon (singer). and hereby request you to not propose this article for deletion.

I have fixed the issues mentioned in the article page as far as I can, but the issue still exists. But, I don't know why it is considered for deletion. Please do help me in correcting it.

Fadl Shaker

Thanks for pointing this out about Kamalelsayedmohamed. Kamal seems to be a huge fan of Fadl Shaker who after having been a veritable pan-Arab mega mega superstar is now in serious legal problems because of his involvement with Sunni fundamentalist movement and after some alleged criminal actions against the Lebanese Army and other groups, Lebanese attorney general is asking for a death penalty for him. He is hiding in a refugee camp to avoid arrest by the Lebanese authorities. I was a great fan of this artist, and despite all this, I still remain a fan of his voice, and feel so much frustrated of what he put himself into. So in a way I do understand part of Kamal's mindset plus his dedication. It's just an obsession with his voice that I admit I have too. But Fadl actually denounced most of his musical past as haram and asked Rotana his label to withdraw all his albums from the market and asked radio stations not to air his songs at all. Many still do and fans just continue to follow his old materials like crazy. Now he is trying a comeback if he can solve his legal issues for a much milder, say symbolic sentence, and possible refuge in another Arab country after expressing regret and denying involvement in actual fighting or killing. His house was torched and all his assets frozen and he can't contact wife or kids that he loves. For Kamal, I see he has been suspended and deservedly so. But I don't see disruptive editing behaviour elsewhere. Only Fadl Shaker article. Regarding albums, and all Fadl Shaker albums are top charting with high sales figures and are notable, a midway solution can be found by putting the tracklists Kamal has created as collapsible displays within main artist page in discography section. werldwayd (talk) 00:29, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

How to spot paid spammers when doing New Pages Patrol

Hi! You marked the article "Planate Management Group" as reviewed. It appears to be a spam article. There are a few hints which have helped me to realize this. They're non-obvious, but once you know what to look for, you'll know.

• The article is about a company.
• The article was created by a new user who has only ever edited one article (the Planate Management Group article).

Those two hints, when they are both true about the same article, are usually enough. Spammers like to create a new throwaway account each time they start work on a new article; if it gets banned, they can just create another account the next day.

If you're still not sure whether or not an article is spam, check the references. Actually click through to each one and skim it. Good articles about corporations will cite good sources (e.g. major national or regional newspaper articles) with significant coverage (normally at least one lengthy paragraph -- maybe more) about the corporation. Poor articles about corporations will cite poor sources such as investing.businessweek.com (which I believe based on information provided by the corporations themselves) and press releases (which are sometimes republished on the websites of major national newspapers, unedited and verbatim). They'll sometimes even cite sources which include only a passing mention of the corporation, instead of real coverage of the corporation.

I have now tagged the Planate article as spam, using Twinkle.

If you're ever unsure, you can ask WP:COIN, or ask #wikipedia-en on the Freenode IRC chat system. If for some reason they don't help you, you can ask me, but I may be slow to respond.

This search [4] gives only 26 results, 13 of which are earthquake damage related. Apparently it is now part of Kobe city. Books by historian Stephen Turnbull may be a possibility, he specialises in Japanese battles and samurai etc. This here Mikagehama, Battle of seems to be the very sparse original source I think this battle is either bogus, or so minor it is not notable enough for Wikipedia. ≠ 220 of ^Borg 16:17, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

Wow! You are fast! I had only just created the user page and you were all over it. While editing/creation within Wikipedia is quite new to me, I thought that I was within the policies and guidelines to start my user page. I merely linked to content that I control/create. Use of BLPPROD

I've noticed you placing BLPPRODs on some articles that have external links. BLPPROD cannot be used when there is an external link that verifies any of the contents of the article, even if the external link is not a reliable source (note that this is a different standard than the one for removing a BLPPROD that was properly placed, which requires a reliable source to be added). Please don't add BLPPRODs to articles with external links (unless the external link doesn't even mention the subject of the article). If you see a BLP with no real sources but with an external link, please just tag it as having no sources, and consider using another deletion policy (regular PROD, AFD, speedy deletion) if any apply. I saw this going on and thought maybe you were objecting to the rapid placement of the BLPPROD. I think that's worth considering in this situation. The PROD was placed three minutes after the creation of the article and it might not be the best way to help an editor who could be struggling to add sources. About requesting the speedy deletion of my user page

I don't understand that, how do you consider my work "consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals." I wrote a very brief introduction to tell why I create those articles, what I create and you consider that some kind of web hosting? Read and think before you place tags.
