Kasthuri or Kasturi is a major Kannada monthly family-interest magazine[5][6] published in Karnataka, India, which has its headquarters in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is also published from Mangaluru, Gulbarga, Davangere, and Hubli.[7][8][9][10][11][12][13]

Kasthuri covers topics like society, Kannada poetry, science fiction, spirituality, health, travel, technology, cookery, book review, beauty. It publishes a large number of editorial cartoon, on politics and society.[14][15][16][17]

The magazine is subscribed in educational institutions like Tumkur University,[18] JSS College of Arts, Commerce & Science,[19] Kuvempu University,[20] Mysore University,[21][22] Mangalore University,[23] and Gulbarga University[24] etc.

History

Kasthuri (RNI:Reg.No.3633/1957)[25] was first published in 1921.[4] Ranganath Ramchandra Diwakar, an ex-president of the KPCC,[26] established the ′Loka Shikshana Trust′ (meaning: World Education Trust) [27] on 27 April 1933, which publishes Kasthuri and Karmaveera (a weekly Kannada magazine).[28][29][30]

Kannada writer and poet, P.V. Acharya,[31] was one among the many editors of Kasthuri,[27] including Radhakrishna Bhadti[32] and writer, journalist Nagesh Hegde[33]
