Kanom piakpoon

Khanom piakpun (Black Coconut Sweet Pudding) is a traditional dessert of Thailand. The original color is a black, because people use coconut coir (Coconut fiber). Baking Kanom Piakpoon takes a long time and requires care.

History

Traditionally, Thai people bake desserts for religious ceremonies. People usually use the fruit of each season to make desserts and the most popular fruit is coconut. One dessert made from coconut is a Kanom Piakpoon[1]

Ingredients

The taste of Kanom Piakpoon will be different due to the amount of ingredients you add. Herre are the ingredients you need.

  • Rice Flour 500 grams
  • Arrowroot starch 150 grams
  • Palm sugar 1-1.5 kilograams
  • Lamewate
  • Shredded coconut

Kanom Piakpoon has many colors that are determinded by the addition of special ingredients. For example, black Kanom Piakpoon consists of coconut coir.The green Kanom Piakpoon consists of pandanus leaves[2]
