Welcome to the 2014 WikiCup!
[edit]Hello Cloudz679, and welcome to the 2014 WikiCup! Your submission page can be found here. The competition began on 1 January. There have been a few small changes from last year; the rules can be read in full at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring, and the page also includes a summary of changes. One important rule to remember is that only content on which you have completed significant work, and nominated, in 2014 is eligible for points in the competition- the judges will be checking! As ever, this year's competition includes some younger editors. If you are a younger editor, you are certainly welcome, but we have written an advice page at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Advice for younger editors for you. Please do take a look. Any questions should be directed to one of the judges, or left on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will make it to round 2. Good luck! Hi Cloudz; I'm afraid I've had to remove Patrik Berger, as this seems to be last year's article. That's not to say it's not a very good article, just to say it's not one that's eligible for WikiCup points. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on my talk page. DYK dates
[edit]Hello. I have indeed noticed, and if I were just adding my latest, I'd put its date as per my talk page notification just as you did (and sorry I overwrote your accurate date). Please feel free to correct any other discrepancies, but when doing a large backlog, as was the case today, it really would take me significantly longer to check which batch each item was in and if necessary adjust the date, than it does to just take them all from the archive as is. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:22, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
Hit 'em Up review
[edit]Hey I had a question on the Talk:Hit 'Em Up/GA1 page about what you mean by prose. I'm close to being finished fixing the issues, just started class though so I've been less active. Anyways, thanks a bunch, CrowzRSA 05:08, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- I think everything is fixed now. CrowzRSA 00:18, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
- Okay I read through the article and fixed a lot of stuff, and did quite a bit of rearranging. But nonetheless, I do believe the article looks a lot better now. Anyways, no rushes, just lettin' you know. Thanks for your cooperation! CrowzRSA 02:16, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
WikiCup 2014 January newsletter
[edit]The 2014 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with, at time of writing, 138 participants. The is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2010. If you are yet to join the competition, don't worry- the judges have agreed to keep the signups open for a few more days. By a wide margin, our current leader is newcomer Godot13 (submissions), whose set of 14 featured pictures, the first FPs of the competition, was worth 490 points. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:
- 12george1 (submissions) and TropicalAnalystwx13 (submissions) were the first people to score, for the good article Tropical Storm Bret (1981) and its good article review respectively. 12george1 was also the first person to score in 2012 and 2013.
- Sven Manguard (submissions) scored the first ITN points for 2014 North American polar vortex.
- WonderBoy1998 (submissions) scored points for an early good topic, finishing off Wikipedia:Featured topics/She Wolf.
- TheAustinMan (submissions) scored the first bonus points of the competition, for his work on Typhoon Vera.
- Igordebraga (submissions) has scored the highest number of bonus points for a single article, for the high-importance Jurassic Park (film).
Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.
Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Reduta Jazz Club
[edit]Hi Clouds - I'm sure that Louis Armstrong played in a jam session at Reduta, it was in 1965, when he came to Prague to play nine (sold out) concerts in Lucerna. After one of the concerts, in the night, they continued in the club. It's somewhere in the books, but I can't find it now so it's probably better not to mention that without sources :) Thanks for your help, btw, and congrats on the GA mentioned above, about a pretty football girl. That's really an impressive article. --Vejvančický (talk / contribs) 07:43, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
- No problem about Reduta, I just removed the Armstrong and Charles part because I thought they are significant enough to require sources, if you can find an appropriate source there is no time limit! As for the GA, I was just the reviewer but I am glad you enjoyed reading the article! Thanks, C679 10:40, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
I see you've swung by the talk page of this article, do you think it merits a sockpuppetry investigation? I'm not sure how one goes about this.TheLongTone (talk) 18:00, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

On GA review of A Whole Nother Story
[edit]Thanx for taking your time off and reviewing the article - A Whole Nother Story. I am really sorry to have wasted your time. I know it is not close to Good Article status. But it was my first article and I was pretty new to wikipedia at the time of its nomination. Since then i have got much more acquainted with wikipedia's ways and rules. I have read a number of wikipedia policies and style pages, criterion for different statuses. I have also been assessing a lot of articles for Wiki Projects and am much more familiar with the different processes in wikipedia now. So i have improved now ad am really sorry for doing this mistake. I kind of flowed in the excitement of making my first article ad thought it was pretty much better than the other new articles. Sorry :), should have withdrawn the nomination after realizing it was not GA class but i wanted to see the views of a reviewer on it. Consider it a mistake of a younger and lesser inexperienced editor. Please, forgive this as a first mistake.
Still, i think you were a little too harsh on the article. I mean, it was definitely passing criteria 3a, 3b and 4. At the least 3a and 3b. Also I think it passes or at least is close to passing 2a and 2c and 1b. I know it needs improving in prose and was certain that it will fail in references but i presumed that it will at least pass the other criterion. I might be wrong and if I am, please tell me so and also how i might improve upon my mistakes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by King Of The Wise (talk • contribs) 16:48, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Everything is covered at the review, I am happy you are keen on improving it, I suggest you involve related WikiProjects if you want editors to collaborate with you, perhaps leave a message at the relevant talk pages. Nobody writes GA-class articles on their own, don't worry about it. C679 17:35, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
Transfermarkt
[edit]Done though you could have removed them yourself as the link was present on the template doc pages (Template:FIFA player/doc, Template:NFT player/doc) etc. and not the templates themselves. These doc pages are not protected. GiantSnowman 19:45, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

You have been removing Transfermarkt from articles citing that it's "not a reliable source". Why do you feel that it's not reliable? Raul17 (talk) 18:16, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
- See here and in particular here. I would advise you add alternative sources to enable verification of player articles which may have relied on Transfermarkt. C679 18:44, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. I use Transfermarkt basicly for the ending of contracts and transfer fees for academy players since the other source list those unless the Madrid site reports it. Bummer! Is Futbolme a reliable source since I have found errors in some players' transfers/clubs played for list? Thanks again Raul17 (talk) 21:41, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- It's not listed at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard and there doesn't appear to have been any significant discussion at the WikiProject page, so it's up to you, but if there is evidence that it uses user-generated content, it wont withstand scrutiny. C679 10:17, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
- If I'm not mistaken, they would ask for help with their transfer list. Because of my ignorance, I did not think that was a red flag for reliability. Thanks. Raul17 (talk) 07:47, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Byron Webster
[edit]Hi, thanks for adding his 2007/08 stats. Do you have any idea if his 2008/09 might be available? I've had no luck in finding them, no doubt due to Most playing in the second tier that season. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 20:13, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- As you alluded to, the second tier is not very well covered in terms of player stats. Sites like Transfermarkt and playerhistory.com cover it, but the first is unreliable and the second has been down for quite some time. I suppose his club Baník Most may have the stats somewhere, but they are not on the website. It's a shame because other clubs, e.g. Baník Sokolov, actually record the stats of their own accord, which although a primary source, is at least reliable. Thanks, C679 20:32, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- A couple of additional things: First I found his club profile page, [1], without any playing stats. Second, a different games/goals total on the Czech Wikipedia article, but it is unsourced and the contributor has been inactive since 2010, so it looks like for now at least it is going to continue to be an unsolved mystery! Thanks, C679 20:39, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
DYK for Sydney Leroux
[edit]On 16 February 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Sydney Leroux, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that Sydney Leroux (pictured) represented Canada before deciding to play for the United States women's national soccer team? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sydney Leroux. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. WikiCup 2014 February newsletter
[edit]And so ends the most competitive first round we have ever seen, with 38 points required to qualify for round 2. Last year, 19 points secured a place; before that, 11 (2012) or 8 (2011) were enough. This is both a blessing and a curse. While it shows the vigourous good health of the competition, it also means that we have already lost many worthy competitors. Our top three scorers were:
- Godot13 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer whose high-quality scans of rare banknotes represent an unusual, interesting and valuable contribution to Wikipedia. Most of Godot's points this round have come from a large set of pictures used in Treasury Note (1890–91).
- Adam Cuerden (submissions), a WikiCup veteran and a finalist last year, Adam is also a featured picture specialist, focusing on the restoration of historical images. This month's promotions have included a carefully restored set of artist William Russell Flint's work.
- WikiRedactor (submissions), another WikiCup newcomer. WikiRedactor has claimed points for good article reviews and good articles relating to pop music, many of which were awarded bonus points. Articles include Sky Ferreira, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus and "Wrecking Ball" (Miley Cyrus song).
Other competitors of note include:
- Hahc21 (submissions), who helped take Thirty Flights of Loving through good article candidates and featured article candidates, claiming the first first featured article of the competition.
- Prism (submissions), who claimed the first featured list of the competition with Natalia Kills discography.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions), who takes the title of the contributor awarded the highest bonus point multiplier (resulting in the highest scoring article) of the competition so far. Her high-importance salamander, now a good article, scored 108 points.
After such a competitive first round, expect the second round to also be fiercely fought. Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 1 but before the start of round 2 can be claimed in round 2, but please do not update your submission page until March (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally.

Ha I wrote this. Looks good for GA actually.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:02, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
The problem was the lack of information about him biographically so the prose reads a bit like a list and contains some irrelevant information to pad it out. I disagree with a number of the reviewers comments. For a minor character actor it's pretty comprehensive, not that it really needs to be for GA. I'll give it a read shortly.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:08, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Klára Svatoňová
[edit]Hello, I meant to say that the curler in question falls under the notability guidelines set up in WP:CURLING. She meets three areas of the criteria:
- Has participated in a World Curling Tour sanctioned event. She has played in four WCT events in her career. [2]
- Has participated in a World Curling Federation sanctioned event. She has played in six WCF events in her career. [3]
- Has participated in an Olympic qualifying event for any country. Yes, she played in the Curling at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Qualification event
It should be noted she is currently also playing in the World Championships, which means she is clearly playing in the highest level of the sport, which means she falls under the criteria set in WP:SPORTS. Unfortunately, I do not speak Czech, so my only sources are in the English media, perhaps as a Czech speaker you could help out? -- Earl Andrew - talk 22:02, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Atletico Madrid GAR
[edit]Hi I'm not sure about the conventions for a GAR. When does the timeframe for a review end? Or is it that because you have supported it, it can be delisted right now? '''tAD''' (talk) 13:26, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- Per WP:GAR, you as the nominator for GAR are not allowed to close the review if it is a "community review". However it doesn't appear to be a community review. Did you notify the last GA reviewer, User:Mr.Kennedy1, per policy? I see he is listed as "retired", but you should still do it. Also the main contributors, which can be found using a link at the page I mentioned. Beyond this I would add a week, then close and delist it, in the absence of any disputes. WikiCup 2014 March newsletter
[edit]A quick update as we are half way through round two of this year's competition. WikiCup newcomer Godot13 (submissions) (Pool E) leads, having produced a massive set of featured pictures for Silver certificate (United States), an article also brought to featured list status. Former finalist Adam Cuerden (submissions) (Pool G) is in second, which he owes mostly to his work with historical images, including a number of images from Urania's Mirror, an article also brought to good status. 2010 champion (Pool C) is third overall, thanks to contributions relating to naval history, including the newly featured Japanese battleship Nagato. Cliftonian (submissions), who currently leads Pool A and is sixth overall, takes the title for the highest scoring individual article of the competition so far, with the top importance featured article Ian Smith.
With 26 people having already scored over 100 points, it is likely that well over 100 points will be needed to secure a place in round 3. Recent years have required 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) and 100 (2010). Remember that only 64 will progress to round 3 at the end of April. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page; if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally. WikiCup 2014 April newsletter
[edit]Round 3 of the 2014 WikiCup has just begun; 32 competitors remain. Pool G's Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Round 2's highest scorer, with a large number of featured picture credits. In March/April, he restored star charts from Urania's Mirror, lithographs of various warships (such as SMS Gefion) and assorted other historical media. Second overall was Pool E's Godot13 (submissions), whose featured list Silver certificate (United States) contains dozens of scans of banknotes recently promoted to featured picture status. Third was Pool G's ChrisGualtieri (submissions) who has produced a large number of good articles, many, including Falkner Island, on Connecticut-related topics. Other successful participants included Cliftonian (submissions), who saw three articles (including the top-importance Ian Smith) through featured article candidacies, and Caponer (submissions), who saw three lists (including the beautifully-illustrated list of plantations in West Virginia) through featured list candidacies. High-importance good articles promoted this round include narwhal from Reid, iain james (submissions), tiger from Cwmhiraeth (submissions) and The Lion King from Igordebraga (submissions). We also saw our first featured topic points of the competition, awarded to Czar (submissions) and Red Phoenix (submissions) for their work on the Sega Genesis topic. No points have been claimed so far for good topics or featured portals.
192 was our lowest qualifying score, again showing that this WikiCup is the most competitive ever. In previous years, 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) or 100 (2010) secured a place in Round 3. Pool H was the strongest performer, with all but one of its members advancing, while only the two highest scorers in Pools G and F advanced. At the end of June, 16 users will advance into the semi-finals. Good luck! Luka Modric review
[edit]Thank you for the fast response and an even faster review. I was in doubt myself about the article even being close to decently written. I am not nor was I ever involved with the article; never made a single edit. I was talked into nominating the article on behalf of another, newer Wikipedian who didn't know how to do it themselves (whom I also "tutored" in the beginning), without giving it a decent read myself beforehand, which I realize now, was a ridiculous thing to do. There is undoubtedly a lot to be done on the article, as you generously pointed out and I hereby apologize for the time wasted. Thanks and sorry once again; and keep doing what you're doing! Happy editing! -ProKro (talk) 13:07, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- I checked before and saw you had just the single edit to the page, updating the stats. No effort was wasted, hopefully the review enables improvements to be made to the article and we may see it at GA in the future. Thanks, C679 15:25, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 June newsletter
[edit]After an extremely close race, Round 3 is over. 244 points secured a place in Round 4, which is comparable to previous years- 321 was required in 2013, while 243 points were needed in 2012. Pool C's Godot13 (submissions) was the round's highest scorer, mostly due to a 32 featured pictures, including both scans and photographs. Also from Pool C, Casliber (submissions) finished second overall, claiming three featured articles, including the high-importance Grus (constellation). Third place was Pool B's , whose contributions included featured articles Russian battleship Poltava (1894) and Russian battleship Peresvet. Pool C saw the highest number of participants advance, with six out of eight making it to the next round.
The round saw this year's first featured portal, with Sven Manguard (submissions) taking Portal:Literature to featured status. The round also saw the first good topic points, thanks to 12george1 (submissions) and the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season. This means that all content types have been claimed this year. Other contributions of note this round include a featured topic on Maya Angelou's autobiographies from Figureskatingfan (submissions), a good article on the noted Czech footballer Tomáš Rosický from Cloudz679 (submissions) and a now-featured video game screenshot, freely released due to the efforts of Sven Manguard (submissions).
The judges would like to remind participants to update submission pages promptly. This means that content can be checked, and allows those following the competition (including those participating) to keep track of scores effectively. This round has seen discussion about various aspects of the WikiCup's rules and procedures. Those interested in the competition can be assured that formal discussions about how next year's competition will work will be opened shortly, and all are welcome to voice their views then. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Wikicup semifinalists interview request
[edit]As you may know, I write for the Signpost, basically Wikipedia's newsletter. I'd like to do a feature on the semifinalists, would you be willing to provide, say, 250 to 500 words saying: (1.) Why did you join the Wikicup? (2.) What you you hope to get out of it? and (3.) Which of your contributions to the Wikicup are your favourites?
Not quite sure how I'll order them - I'll probably make the ed17 decide, as, you know, Conflict of Interest: I am a semifinalist. I'd imagine point order or alphabetical or the like.
Can you please reply at Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2014-07-30/Wikicup#Cloudz679? Thanks! Adam Cuerden (talk) 00:22, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Saw this through Vejvančický's talk, the highest temperature one was out of date - 40.2 was surpassed by 40.4 degrees celsius in Dobřichovice on August 20 2012[4] (I remember it well as I was in nearby Černošice that day). I moved it to August but it messes up the 5 blurbs per month thing so you may want to just remove it altogether and put in something else for July, can't think of anything off the top of my head though, especially since Cyril and Meth day is not really an anniversary, just a nameday. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 20:24, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for picking up on this. I have re-worked the Portal material to balance five hooks per month and re-added a hook which was previously in July. I also added the temperature information to the Dobřichovice article. Thanks, C679 23:36, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 August newsletter
[edit]The final of the 2014 WikiCup begins in a few short minutes! Our eight finalists are listed below, along with their placement in Round 4:
- Godot13 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer, finished top of Pool A and was the round's highest scorer. Godot is a featured picture specialist, claiming large numbers of points due to high-quality scans of historical documents, especially banknotes.
- Casliber (submissions) is a WikiCup veteran, having been a finalist every year since 2010. In the semi-final, he was Pool B's highest scorer. Cas's points primarily come from articles on the natural sciences.
- Czar (submissions) was Pool A's runner-up. Czar's points come mostly from content related to independent video games, including both articles and topics.
- Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Pool B's runner-up. Another featured picture specialist, many of Adam's points come from the restoration of historical media. He has been a WikiCup finalist twice before.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) won the WikiCup in 2012 and 2013, and enters this final as the first wildcard. She focuses on biology-related articles, and has worked on several high-importance articles.
- 12george1 (submissions) is the second wildcard. George's points come primarily from meteorology-related articles. This year and last year, George was the first person in the competition to score.
- Sturmvogel 66 (submissions), the third wildcard, was the 2010 champion and a finalist last year. His writes mostly on military history, especially naval history.
- Bloom6132 (submissions), the fourth and final wildcard, has participated in previous WikiCups, but not reached any finals. Bloom's points are mostly thanks to did you knows, featured lists and good articles related to sport and national symbols.
We say goodbye to this year's semi-finalists. Matty.007 (submissions), ThaddeusB (submissions), WikiRedactor (submissions), Figureskatingfan (submissions), Yellow Evan (submissions), Prism (submissions) and Cloudz679 (submissions) have all performed well to reach this stage of the competition, and we hope they will all be joining us again next year.
There are two upcoming competitions unrelated to the WikiCup which may be of interest to those who receive this newsletter. The Stub Contest will run through September, and revolves around expanding stub articles, especially high-importance or old stubs. In addition, a proposal has been made for a new competition, the GA Cup, which the organisers plan to run next year. This competition is based on the WikiCup and aims to reduce the good article review backlog.
There is now a thread for brainstorming on how next year's WikiCup competition should work. Please come along and share your thoughts- What works? What doesn't work? What needs changing? Signups for next year's competition will be open soon; we will be in touch. If, at this stage of the competition, you are keen to help the with the WikiCup, please do what you can to participate in review processes. Our finalists will find things much easier if the backlogs at good article candidates, featured article candidates, featured picture candidates and the rest are kept at a minimum. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! WikiCup 2015 is just around the corner...
[edit]Hello everyone, and may we wish you all a happy holiday season. As you will probably already know, the 2015 WikiCup begins in the new year; there is still time to sign up. We have a few important announcements concerning the future of the WikiCup.
- We would like to announce that Josh (J Milburn) and Ed (The ed17), who have been WikiCup judges since 2009 and 2010 respectively, are stepping down. This decision has been made for a number of reasons, but the main one is time. Both Josh and Ed have found that, over the previous year, they have been unable to devote the time necessary to the WikiCup, and it is not likely that they will be able to do this in the near future. Furthermore, new people at the helm can only help to invigorate the WikiCup and keep it dynamic. Josh and Ed will still be around, and will likely be participating in the Cup this following year as competitors, which is where both started out.
- In a similar vein, we hope you will all join us in welcoming Jason (Sturmvogel 66) and Christine (Figureskatingfan), who are joining Brian (Miyagawa) to form the 2015 WikiCup judging team. Jason is a WikiCup veteran, having won in 2010 and finishing in fifth this year. Christine has participated in two WikiCups, reaching the semi-finals in both, and is responsible for the GA Cup, which she now co-runs.
- The discussions/polls concerning the next competition's rules will be closed soon, and rules changes will be made clear on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring and talk pages. While it may be impossible to please everyone, the judges will make every effort to ensure that the new rules are both fair and in the best interests of the competition, which is, first and foremost, about improving Wikipedia.
If you have any questions or concerns, the judges can be reached on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, on their talk pages, or by email. We hope you will all join us in trying to make the 2015 WikiCup the most productive and enjoyable yet. You are receiving this message because you are listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. 23:59:19, 14 December 2014 review of submission by LindaCardiffnz
[edit]
Hi
The first draft I wrote was rejected and blocked. I had this response from Wikipedia when I queried this block:
Hello lindacardiff,
Yes, you might as well create a new account. However, you should use the Article Wizard and create it as a draft, since creating it directly as an article will probably lead to a re-deletion and re-block.
jackmcbarn English Wikipedia Administrator
I therefore created a new draft called Nature Connections, but was unable to locate it when I reentered my account last week. I had not completed the links etc so started a new one.
Could you please therefore review the article here? It has the correct links etc.
Thank you Linda
LindaCardiffnz (talk) 23:59, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
- @LindaCardiffnz: The first one, which is at Draft:Nature Connections is not blocked. You should make changes there and not at the second place, which is a duplicate. If the page is to be accepted, it should feel neutral, and describe what the company does, in a neutral way. Sentences like "We turn competitors into colleagues" sound as if they are coming from the organisation itself, and these should be re-written. If it's not factual, or third parties haven't discussed this part of the organisation, the sentence may not be appropriate. Looking at the references, #1 is a press release, #2 doesn't appear to mention the organisation directly, #3 is based on a press release from the same organisation that published #1, #4 doesn't discuss the organisation in detail, #5 is actually the same link as #1, #6 doesn't have a URL so I can't check it, and #7 is also the same link as #1. The article needs a minimum of two reliable sources discussing the organisation in detail, to meet the standards here. Press releases, and articles with a passing mention do not count towards these two. I will add this information to the draft page, and this should be addressed there if you want another reviewer to have another look. Let me know if you have any further questions. Hi, just added some national references which evidence notability (are bookmaker odds a secondary source?!) which were noted in several papers. Also discovered a quotation which was on page 2 of The Times in July. Note the Times link is behind a paywall - its the bottom of the article on Selina Scott - Link http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/politics/article4155143.ece

Czech zoos
[edit]Glad that you found the articles I started about Czech Zoos! Do you know if theres a Zoo Project in Czech, like Wikipedia:WikiProject Zoo? Dan Koehl (talk) 01:51, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Dan Koehl: There doesn't seem to be a project, however cs:Portál:Živočichové may be useful, depending on what you're looking for. Hope it helps. Keep up the good work, C679 07:17, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, I left a note at the discussion page for the cs:Diskuse k portálu:Živočichové. Dan Koehl (talk) 15:14, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
A cup of tea for you!
[edit]I think that Joseline Hernandez is a WELL KNOWN artist, and television personality. I'm not understanding why her wiki page was declined. She's been active on television and music since 2012! Can you explain to me why you declined it? ItsJasonRivera (talk) 22:42, 17 December 2014 (UTC) |
John Denver
[edit]I added a few references. Not much is known about the album, so there are only a few that I have found. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brycecordry (talk • contribs) 19:04, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Brycecordry:. Homestead is a self-publishing website and Amazon sells the stuff, neither is acceptable as a reliable source. How about reviews in music magazines, etc? C679 19:09, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
I added more! There is not much out there, as it is still not popular, so it may be NN. Thanks, Brycecordry (talk) 02:47, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hallo, there are lots of article https://www.google.de/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=z8qeVOCyNK3j8wfH8IHoDw#q=stuart+styron --2.243.192.195 (talk) 15:15, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- It's your responsibility to update the draft article to reflect that. The article is supposed to present the facts, we can't have an article just because there are lots of googlehits. Per WP:GHITS, "a large number of hits on a search engine is no guarantee that the subject is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia". C679 15:34, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
you want to delete? Why you not support the article? -- Flashfox7 (talk) 23:10, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

why is my article the client. Has more verifiable citation than a lot of other articles that have been published. It is more complete then many other music articles. What do I need to add to get it published?

Hi There, May I include Lighthouse Education Inc. (Lighthouse Montessori School and Lighthouse Afterschool Academy) into the following wikipage: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evergreen,_San_Jose,_California#Education Since my schools are located in this area.
