Speedy deletion nomination of AXiomatic
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on AXiomatic, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. reddogsix (talk) 00:59, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of British independence
The article British independence has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Dubious recreation as dab page of a recently deleted article: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/British independence. None of these supposed usages has the term notably applied to them.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mutt Lunker (talk) 01:45, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

Taiwan Region
Hi, friendly reminder that you placed an RfD tag on Taiwan Region, however, it was not listed at RfD, I have retargeted it to Taiwan (disambiguation) per the outcome of Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2016_September_3#Taiwan_region. However, if you feel that this one needed to be handled differently, please let me know. - Champion (talk) (contribs) (Formerly TheChampionMan1234) 07:34, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
- That's probably the best target for the redirect. Honestly I wasn't expecting other editors to vote for deletion but this is a reasonale solution.--Prisencolin (talk) 16:05, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

Damn you, I had three good goes at trying to !vote a delete that at RfD, every time an edit conflict. Glad that it has gone, been away for a few days and hadn't checked the discussions etc. This was my last. I don't quite do justice to Alf Garnett but I thought was quite good.
- Delete (edit conflict) with extreme prejudice. I have not read any of the AfDs or RfDs above, and do not want to: because I can guess the point made above cover the gamut of the arguments at the various, far more succinctly.
- (edit conflict) I cross out "British" and write "English" constantly on any form I get from the UK government that insists that I am British, even though some of my best friends know Scots, Welsh and Irish people. On my passport form I wrote "English Citiyen" and it was crossed out and put as "British Citizen". It was not refused though, Her Majesty still affords me the let and hindrance. This does not help our readers to search. I am speaking as one who had the vote at the referndum but couldn't exercise it (at least I applied for it, and paid the postage stamps, as a UK expatriate: if you can vote you must, people died trying to get the vote, all you have to do is make up your mind and put a cross in a box).
- As far as WP:RECENTISM, yes I should like Wikipedia to last a thousand years, like the Thousand Year Reich only perhaps not quite so dictatorial, but we also must record present use. "Brexit", the target, is the present use and only use for this term. "British independence" is WP:VAGUE, WP:WEASEL could mean anything.
- I'll give you I think a good example. Indian independence does not mean the Indian's independence from the British Empire in 1947 (but Indian Independence does, nor does British independence mean independence from India in 2016 from all their cheap products and billion population and railways (edit conflict) that we built back in the day and all their bangalorean software engineers ruining my living, and films that you can sing to and the little.... sorry where was I. It is a form of invert racism. Were I to suggest that India has now colonised Britain, the facts would be mostly on my side, but I doubt many Indians, nay even British Indians coming over here invading our co... sorry integrating well into our society and so on, would think of "Indian Independence" and "Indian indepence" going to different places. Where does British Independence go, if anywhere> (edit conflict) so I will tidy this up later or get some ga-wallah from Mumbai to do it for me. Was Bombay in the good old days, do they not know their own language, i.e. English? Si Trew (talk) 21:54, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
- Indeed. At any rate, it was interesting that some of the comments at RfD implied turning it back to a dab page. However now is not the time or place for this.--Prisencolin (talk) 07:50, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Speedying your own sub-pages
The tag to use when you want one of your own sub-pages deleted is {{db-user}} or {{db-u1}} - more specific than {{delete}}, and saves the admin a little work as he can see at once what's going on and does not need to check the history. JohnCD (talk) 21:57, 23 October 2016 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles's 2016-2017 GA Cup
Greetings, all! We would like to announce the start of the 4th GA Cup, a competition that seeks to encourage the reviewing of Good article nominations! Thus far, there have been three GA Cups, which were successful in reaching our goals of significantly reducing the traditionally long queue at GAN, so we're doing it again. Currently, there are over 400 nominations listed. We hope that we can again make an impact this time. The 4th GA Cup will begin on November 1, 2016. Four rounds are currently scheduled (which will bring the competition to a close on February 28, 2017), but this may change based on participant numbers. We may take a break in December for the holidays, depending on the results of a poll of our participants taken shortly after the competition begins. The sign-up and submissions process will remain the same, as will the scoring. Sign-ups for the upcoming competition are currently open and will close on November 14, 2016. Everyone is welcome to join; new and old editors, so sign-up now! If you have any questions, take a look at the FAQ page and/or contact one of the judges. Cheers from 3family6, Figureskatingfan, Jaguar, MrWooHoo, and Zwerg Nase. We apologize for the delay in sending out this message until after the competition has started. Thank you to Krishna Chaitanya Velaga for aiding in getting this message out. To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletters, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. If you are a participant, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.

Boyz After Money Always
I'm sorry to see that after your derailing the speedy deletion nomination of the Boyz After Money Always article, you could not be arsed to get involved in the AfD, one way or another. It's really not very helpful of you, a sort of sociopathic and inconsiderate making of work for other people whilst you wander away. I'd be grateful if you'd put a little more thought into your actions before repeating this sort of trick: and on this article, I think you owe it to the community to get off the fence on whichever side your research suggests to you. --Tagishsimon (talk) 14:48, 9 November 2016 (UTC)

Chinese surnames

I'd like all the Chinese surnames consistent but I don't really know how to establish a consistent pattern throughout Wikipedia Opacitatic (talk) 23:32, 9 November 2016 (UTC)

- Sounds good. If more people hop on board we can expand it to East Asian surnames. If you could create it (I don't really know how) that'd be greatly appreciated. Opacitatic (talk) 05:15, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

Adding categories without citations
Hi Prisencolin. When categories are added, citations are always required in the text to show the same. For example, in the case of Carmit Bachar, where you added Category:American people of Hoklo descent, there are no citations to show that the subject is of Hoklo descent. We also cannot assume it simply because many Indonesian Chinese are of Hokkien descent - that would be WP:OR. The essential thing is that Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia and we hold stuff to an academic standard here. Before adding a category, try finding a citation. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 07:41, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
- I do think there is encyclopedic value in "speculative" information, although others may disagree. First, many readers already have their own prior knowledge and preconceived notions when reading the wiki, so in many instances there is a need to provide some additional context to those without this knowledge. For these kinds of dynamic lists to be complete, items which are unknown whether they be, included along with a notice that it may possibly be untrue. This is not a kind of false correlation WP:OR, which are more open ended; the relation between sets and subsets is more clear. In other words if we have verifiably information that what applies to a category a person or thing belongs to can verifiably apply to the person or thing as well. At the very least there should be some capacity to have a Category:American people of probable Hoklo descent. Hopefully all of this made sense.--Prisencolin (talk) 04:50, 12 November 2016 (UTC)

Chinese people
Hello, Prisencolin. I have used the 'undo' function to revert your recent edit redirecting Chinese people to Han Chinese. If you think the article is unnecessary or harmful, deletion via AfD would be a more appropriate course of action, I think. From my point of view, the meaning of "Chinese people" only partially overlaps the meaning of Han, as the former term is used variously to refer to the ethnic group, citizens of China (PRC or ROC), or various other meanings. Happy editing, Cnilep (talk) 23:54, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Emoey
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Emoey, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
For the WC2017 the prizes will be as follows (amounts are based in US$ and will be awarded in the form of an online Amazon gift certificate):
- First place – $200
- Second & Third place – $50 each
- Category prizes – $25 per category (which will be limited to FA, FL, FP, GA, and DYK for 2017). Winning a category prize does not require making it to the final round.
Note: Monetary prizes are a one-year experiment for 2017 and may or may not be continued in the future. In order to be eligible to receive any of the prizes above, the competing Wikipedia account must have a valid/active email address.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Smashing...Live! cover.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Smashing...Live! cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 07:27, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Flusha
The article Flusha has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. This was also the suggestion of another editor at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jw (Counter-Strike player). If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:Teemo lantern.jpeg
Thanks for uploading File:Teemo lantern.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 00:19, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

NORTH
Hi you created a redirect from NORTH to FC Copenhagen which itself is a redirect page to F.C. Copenhagen but I could find nothing in the article that explains the connection between NORTH and this football club. Could you enlighten me? --Domdeparis (talk) 09:43, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
- A professional video gaming club recently started by FC Copenhagen.[2] I might create a new later, but for now I thought I'd just create and redirect.--Prisencolin (talk) 10:05, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
- Ah OK Maybe add that information into the article page otherwise it makes little sense? I'm not an expert on redirects but wouldn't it be better to redirect to the article page rather than another redirect? --Domdeparis (talk) 10:10, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thought I'd try my hand at adding it myself. I took the liberty to rename the page NORTH (eSports team) and I added it to the North (disambiguation) page feel free to correct it if you think it's necessary. --Domdeparis (talk) 15:29, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Atlas (June 1801)
Hi Prisencolin, as an inclusionist, I oppose deletion of articles on the grounds of "non-notability". Wikipedia has unlimited shelfspace and if you are not interested in an article, you won't find it. As far as ships in particular are concerned, Wikiproject Ships has taken the stance that it welcomes ALL articles about ships (scope). It does not impose a notability threshold. Regards, Acad Ronin (talk) 20:32, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
- All articles about ship? The way you're describing it makes it sound a bit too broad.--Prisencolin (talk) 06:35, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- It is broad. Some small vessels, much smaller than the one you wanted to delete, might not qualify, unless they have shipwrecked, or been involved in a historical event. However, the project scope statement is pretty clear. And that is completely apart from the inclusionist view that one only change Wikipedia when no knowledge would be lost as a result. I cannot comprehend people who wish to destroy knowledge just because they think it unimportant. Acad Ronin (talk) 00:48, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but why? Are you familiar with the notability guidelines for athletes? Drmies (talk) 01:11, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Same with Arthur Adel and Nial. Sorry, but I have no faith in your PRODs. How did you manage to read, assess, and tag fourteen such diverse articles in four minutes? Drmies (talk) 01:15, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yes it seems a bit brash but I'm just testing the waters and seeing if anyone cares enough about certain articles and de-PRODs them. The fact that you did means the system works, so no big deal. Also it's just proposed deletion, anyone can very easily revert the tagging edit or if it is deleted retrieve it from WP:REFUND.--Prisencolin (talk) 06:40, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- I just read this appallingly arrogant statement of yours. You threatened work that I spent hours on, forced me to spend time undoing some of your damage, and now force me to monitor you to check what other damage you are doing, all for an experiment? Acad Ronin (talk) 02:15, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
- Isn't that kind of pointy though? As the encyclopedia grows, the number of editors - who are, after all, volunteers with other claims on their time - available to watch a given article will be stretched thinner, and not everyone knows about WP:REFUND - or will know a vanished article once existed - or has the cheek to go ask. I don't think this was a good use of your own time, either, if that was why you did it. Yngvadottir (talk) 16:11, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you . No, this was not a good use of our time--yes big deal. An editor is concerned over your PRODs, they email me (I'm an administrator), I have to check them all individually because I can't see if you know what you're doing or not, then I have to dePROD them, come here, explain, etc., and then we find out you weren't tagging those articles on their merits, or with sufficient knowledge of our guidelines. If you had attempted to improve those articles you would have helped us forward. Instead, if that editor, and me, and Yngvadottir hadn't gotten involved, the decision might have been left for another admin who, assuming good faith, might have thought you did your homework. So, sorry, but no. We're an experiment, maybe, but this kind of experimenting is counterproductive. Drmies (talk) 18:58, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Perhaps the Proposed Deletion system is too lenient in allowing articles to be deleted, and as for people no knowing about WP:REFUND, there can easily just be an edit box message that appears if someone were to recreate this. Finally, I do in fact believe the articles should be deleted, never said I didn't.--Prisencolin (talk) 01:29, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
- OK--in that case I'm going to have to ask you to stay away from PROD since you clearly don't understand our guidelines very well. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 03:16, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

misguided RMs
Prisencolin, based on your RM proposals at Talk:Nice and Talk:Friendly, you have demonstrated a fundamental misunderstanding about how articles are titled on WP and I request you stop making RM proposals until your understanding is greatly improved. If you have any questions, please let me know, or inquire at WT:AT. --В²C ☎ 00:36, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice, but I still by the the RMs I made, at least the two you mentioned. As far the Nice discussion goes, the fact that three other attempts have already been made means that at least someone agrees.--Prisencolin (talk) 06:49, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, you are not completely alone in making these mistakes. But the near-unanimous opposition in the previous Nice RM proposals should have been indicative of what the prevailing views are. --В²C ☎ 21:27, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of List of dialects with official or recognized status
The article List of dialects with official or recognized status has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- It's impossible to have sane inclusion criteria for such a list. If "dialect" is taken to mean a language variety without social status or written tradition, then "dialects with official status" is a contradiction in terms. If on the other hand "dialect" is taken to refer to a language variety that is similar to another language variety, then this is purely relative and there's no criterion to delimit dialect from language – Canadian English is just as much a "dialect" as is for example Standard British English.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Nice guy into Kindness. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Greetings @Prisencolin:, I'm Exemplo347. Can I ask why you've declined the PROD for Molecular Significance of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus on Antibiotic Resistance Profiles? The article is clearly an Essay - meaning my PROD reason WP:NOTESSAY is valid. So why did you decline it? Exemplo347 (talk) 12:13, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Ah well, as there has been no reply I'm going to advise you that any similar disruption of deletion processes may lead to you being reported to the Administrator's Noticeboard. Exemplo347 (talk) 22:21, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Relax it was just a few hours ago. I thought it looks like it was salvageable, of course molecular biology is not my field at all, but nonetheless I figured someone would want it kept. That being said it looks. Also, "similar disruption of deletion process"? The WP:PROD page just says any editor "may object to the deletion by simply removing the tag". Anyways thanks for the follow up.--Prisencolin (talk) 22:25, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Well that's great. Maybe you should read the rest of WP:PROD sometime - don't just selectively quote bits that give you an excuse to be sloppy in your editing. For future reference, articles that are an essay are not suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, even if they "look salvageable" or you figure that "someone would want it kept". Try to edit to the same standard that most other experienced editors are at. Exemplo347 (talk) 22:36, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
