About X-Men: Animated Series. Mistake?

I noticed that in the episode listing of Cold Comfort, the year for the airdate is "1997". Is this a mistake? If it is you are welcome to change it yourself. I also added a plot for Cold Comfort, so I also put "1997" in the infobox. You are also welcome to change that too. :] —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wengistein (talkcontribs) 01:02, 24 December 2006 (UTC).

Edit summaries

I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! --Ppntori 22:37, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Speedy deletion tagging of Justice league episodes

I see you have tagged many redirects from titles of Justice League episodes with the deletion reason "Just because it's the name of a Justice League episode should not mean that it should redirect there". This does not appear to reflect any of the speedy deletion criteria. Please don't use speedy deletion tags for things you simply think are bad. If you really think these should all be deleted, you may list them at WP:RFD, but I should mention it is common to keep redirects like these to help people find the closest-related article currently available. Template syntax

The {{no copyright holder}} template expects the "month" parameter to be the spelled-out name of the month, as in {{no copyright holder|month=April|day=10|year=2007}}. Wikilinks in NFL Drafts

Regarding players, teams, positions, colleges, within the table data I believe it has been discussed several times to link all table data not just the first instance. While remaining to the usual link only first instance within the written article. If im mistaken on this one I'll cease to edit them completely. Also note often times player positions while they may appear to be the same are not and piped to specific positions. Slysplace | talk 01:36, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

There are so many archives of the discussions on the NFL Project page related to the draft page series of lists, Who can keep up. I've fixed so many redirects and disambiqs while editing those pages that it is certainly much more than a simple revert, more likely I'll be re-editing the entire series if it comes up that they should be cleaned up. Also there are other group / project discussions related to "Lists" whih I may have miss interpreted that suggested the full linking in table data. This will take some time to sort out. Slysplace | talk 12:30, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
A quick review of what I've completed in the possibly unacceptable format 1936 - 1976 and some of 1978 using mostly an external editor with find and replace scripts, shows if the Article format is to be susatained I'll have to entirely un-wikilink every article and then manually find the first instance, could prove to be a whole lot of previously wasted effort and even more work to clean up ... I think I need a jury Slysplace | talk 15:08, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
I was thinking to do the same, I've added my self defense statement to your question but I think the obvious answer will be manually reverted (or worse revert entirely) to single instance wikilinks to continue the featured article hopes of the project and the hard core wikipedians. Thank's for yoru input, concern, and support no matter the outcome. Slysplace | talk 02:22, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
Finally got back to cleaning up some of the draft tables. The early era pages are the easiest with only 1 round in most of them. I must say though they just look incomplete in the link once article format. I suppose I could have just left them as I last edited but that's counter productive to the NFL Project goal. Slysplace | talk 01:18, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
I made several sortable at one time but reverted after I received e-mail that it was un-acceptable. I suppose I was just easily intimidated. I Like sortable, But then again I also felt full links were cleaner and more direct for the final user.

we (and others) will get the quality up to par no doubt. Keep up the good work Slysplace | talk 01:48, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Your comment on adding a link to the Division I-AA receiving TD awards has been added. can you please close the 'comment' and provide your view for the 2007 NFL Draft FLC. Thanks. Kalyan 17:36, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

sortable Draft

I think I got the 2 or 3 you missed (or beat you to it), now if we can get rid of the abbreviations and get some volunteers to work on rounds 2 + the series will be in good shape! Slysplace | talk 02:27, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

As tedious as this is cleaning up the draft articles, I happened to glance at some of the history and diffs of the articles were both working on. If memory serves me you pointed out I had "Over Wikilinked" the entire series, And called attention to it in the NFL Project discussion group. Imagine my concern, I cant help but notice in the areas of HOF & Noteable players specifically in regards to the AFL your doing the same thing. This does seem a little counter productive to me as I've been cleaning up those links repeatedly. Are we working towards the same goal? Linked only once per article,

to quote the discussion in Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Football League#NFL_Draft

Basically first time only for each link. Every single one was linked originally in pretty much every draft,
but there's really no reason for that. The other 60-odd drafts are gonna have to have that fixed.--Wizardman 02:44, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Slysplace | talk 02:14, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

It does appear we were both editing some articles at the same time, and it is monotonous, but there were a few with the AFL links repeatedly linked during and after the sortable update. I've triple checked everything from 1936 through 1969 for dupe links, disamibqs, and redirects and compacted some data and white space. 1936 - 1969 should be complete (with exception of needing expansion and opening paragraphs). I'll continue through the 70's & 80's next, an extra set of eyes would not hurt the process. Slysplace | talk 11:48, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

SIlver Surfer

Regarding the Marvel animated universe article, are you really so sure that Silver Surfer is part of that continuity? We're not just talking about a plot hole here and there, like Red Skull having inconsistent combat abilities - every single time something on that series happens that could be related to another one, it goes a different way, so the only reasonable conclusion seems to be that they're separate universes. Caswin 20:05, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

yes, I believe that Silver Surfer (TV series) is a part of the Marvel animated universe. Gman124 01:34, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

FL Main page proposal

You either nominated a WP:FLC or closed such a nomination recently. As such, you are the type of editor whose opinion I am soliciting. We now have over 400 featured lists and seem to be promoting in excess of 30 per month of late (41 in August and 42 in September). When Today's featured article (TFA) started (2004-02-22), they only had about 200 featured articles and were barely promoting 20 new ones per month. I think the quality of featured lists is at least as good as the quality of featured articles was when they started appearing on the main page. Thus, I am ready to open debate on a proposal to institute a List of the Day on the main page with nominations starting November 1 2007, voting starting December 1 2007 and main page appearances starting January 1 2008. For brevity, the proposal page does not discuss the details of eventual main page content, but since the work has already been done, you should consider this proposal assuming the eventual content will resemble the current content at the featured content page. Such output would probably start at the bottom of the main page. The proposal page does not debate whether starting with weekly list main page entries would be better than daily entries. However, I suspect persons in favor of weekly lists are really voicing opinions against lists on the main page since neither TFA nor Picture of the day started as weekly endeavors, to the best of my knowledge. Right now debate seems to be among support for the current selective democratic/consensus based proposal, a selective dictatorial approach like that used at WP:TFA or a non-selective first in line/calendar approach like that used at WP:POTD. See the List of the Day proposal and comment at WP:LOTDP and its talk page.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 19:29, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Featured List of the Day Experiment

There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 02:47, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Incredible Hulk is a reboot.

If you read through the article, what you'll find is that the new movie will not directly contradict the entirty of Hulk, and will rely upon the audience now being familiar with the basics of the Hulk's origins and so on. The new movie will tweak and alter those things it needs to to fit the new story, and will not create a brand new origin tale. This makes it at best a 'passive' sequel. However, it's an entirely new cast and production crew with a new vision and direction and new goals, with a different hulk (one that doesn't grow, for one). As such, it was decided that passive reliance upon audience knowledge based on premises given in the first film is not enough to call it a sequel. Further, Ed Norton's quotes in the article make it clear that the older Penn quote is out of date, as Norton said he rewrote sections specifically to distance the new film from the older film. That intent to differentiate is also clear support that it's a reboot. ThuranX (talk) 17:08, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

NFL draft pages

I noticed you put several of them up for FLR. Generally, you should mention concerns on the talk page and then go to FLR if they are not addressed, and your concerns seem easily addressable to me. -- Scorpion0422 01:35, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

The Alien Costume

Just to let you know, I'll be redirecting that soon. Pretty much all of the information is original research (you cannot use circular logic or user edited sources to cite something), and anything left over doesn't warrant an article. TTN (talk) 16:33, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

  • most of the stuff is from marvel toonzone and none of the stuff is original research. Gman124 (talk) 16:37, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
There are only two pages from that site in the production section, and I don't even know if they're relevant. For the rest of them, you're using the works you're claiming relate to this episode to cite your claims, which is OR, and user edited sites, which cannot be used. TTN (talk) 16:45, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
which stuff do you claim to be "OR", even though I think you are just picking on me for not have your way on redirecting all the episode pages. and i'm not making up false stuff if that's what you are trying to say. Gman124 (talk) 17:39, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
I suggest that you read over WP:OR. It doesn't necessarily mean that you made up the information. It means that it's your own personal interpretation without any reliable sources to back it. When you claim that X is based off of Y and cite Y as your source, you're just telling where you got your interpretation rather than showing that it is true. TTN (talk) 18:24, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
I removed that stuff now and the article still have alot of stuff. and also moved stuff to the top of the article. Gman124 (talk) 05:00, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

If you're going to keep bringing these episode articles back, can you please try to bring them to our notability standards? While what you're trying to do is fine, you're missing the target by quite a bit. Notability isn't established from a couple of fairly trivial creator notes and a review from a site that isn't really reliable in that area. You need information like in The Last Temptation of Krust, Zero Hour (Stargate SG-1), In Excelsis Deo, Last Exit to Springfield, and other good episode articles. TTN (talk) 19:20, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm putting in as much info as I can find, and you said that you don't consider tv.com amd imdb.com to be very relevant, yet the In Excelsis Deo episode, half the references are from tv.com and it's listed as a good article. seems to me like you are only opposing cartoon articles and leaving out the others. comic articles are the one that need to be fixed first, like Star Wars: Republic, it doesn't even have anything on the main page, you don't seem to be bothered by that. how can you consider one thing notable and not the other. Also when you merge something you are supposed to move some stuff from the articles to the main page, why don't you ever do that? Gman124 (talk) 17:13, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that one turns out not to be as great as an example. I was just trying not to overuse The Simpsons articles. Though, only one production reference is using it wrong, while the others deal with filler reception. It's not the best, but the other references sort of make up for it. My main focus is on episode and character articles, so I have no real interest in fixing other pages at the moment. There are two million articles to possibly work on, so "go fix everything else first" isn't a very workable argument. Merging comes when info needs to be salvaged. These episodes are just plot summaries, which are already covered. TTN (talk) 20:55, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
I didn't bring back that many episode pages anyway, only three or four, the for season two of Spider-Man, I just merged season two episodes on one page, since the etire season was a season long story. trying to make it like a season page. Gman124 (talk) 05:24, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
That's why I stated what you're trying to do is fine, but you're still missing the mark by quite a bit. You've added nothing that actually warrants an article. If you really want to work on something, you should work on the episode lists instead. If you have official sources stating important pieces of information (not fansites interpreting which comics they were based off of), add those to the summaries or something. TTN (talk) 19:29, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Some of the stuff is from people that worked on the shows and gave interview to toonzone, so are you saying that those interviews are not valid either? also toonzone has stuff about all cartoon shows not just a particular show and I don't think it's a fan site. Gman124 (talk) 19:48, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Interviews are fine, but they're not enough to hold an article. It's essentially trivia without some real context. If you want the notes to be mentioned, all you need to do is rework the main summaries to be like "After Peter puts on his costume, he does x, which is based off of comic y. *ref*" Toonzone is just an advanced fansite. Like some sites, some of it can be used, but not all of it is great. TTN (talk) 20:03, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Fine I will do do that, got anything else you want fixed on the episode pages? Gman124 (talk) 22:18, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Unnecessary season splits

Generally, we do not split episode lists into season articles without the seasons having information on them. While that page is large KB wise, a good chunk of that space comes from the tables anyways, which doesn't really count towards needing to be split. If you want to split them, you'll have to find production and reception information on the entire seasons, which doesn't seem likely. If you could merge that one back in, that would be good. TTN (talk) 00:05, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Fine but once I find stuff I will split them because the episode page is just too long know because there's around 150 episodes.Gman124 (talk) 00:11, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Splitting the page does make it smaller and half the page is made from summaries, so I think it's best if the pages are split and most of the info is in season pages. Gman124 (talk) 16:58, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

The X-Men were animated under different house on their program than on Spider-Man's (even though they were meant to take place in the same universe). While you are indeed correct that the Spurs were previously know as the Chaparrals, see other featured lists like List of New England Patriots head coaches, List of San Diego Chargers head coaches, List of Washington Redskins head coaches, (and much more), who all previously were known as a different name. Furthermore, "San Antonio Spurs" is the current name of the franchise, and to people who are unfamiliar Dallas Chaparrals might confuse the list as two different teams. They were the same teams, just playing in different eras. I hope you understand, « Milk's Favorite Cøøkie 23:18, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Marvel Animated Universe

Just to clarify, the Marvel Animated Universe contains any animated TV show from Marvel to premiere in the time frame of X-Men (1992) to Avengers: United They Stand (1999). Therefore, also included is Spider-Man (1994), Iron Man (1994), Fantastic Four (1994), The Incredible Hulk (1996), and Silver Surfer (1998). Shows that came out before or after like Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends or X-Men: Evolution and The Spectacular Spider-Man don't count. Not every single Marvel cartoon falls under the MAU category. It's just like how Super Friends isn't seen as apart of the DC Animated Universe, under Bruce Timm. TMC1982 (talk) 5:14 p.m., 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Links in sortable tables

In sortable tables all words in one column should be linked because when you start sorting by different columns, the delinked word may appear first. It's very common especially at WP:FLC to require that all instances of the same word be linked in sortable tables.--Crzycheetah 06:50, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

FLCs

Hey. As one of WP:FLCs biggest contributors, I was hoping to ask you to revisit some (or all!) of the lists you've reviewed recently and see if any concerns you might have raised have subsequently been addressed. FLCs are gaining a lot of interest and plenty of comments but not many supports or opposes - while the "four supports" minimum has been removed, lists still need community consensus for them to be promoted. Deleted Articles

Hi there, I had a few attempts at an article deleted. I read up on it and it seems the main problem is that its not notable. Im trying to revise it and would appreciate any tips you might have. Heres my revised article: Thanks, Matt. Drkostan (talk) 16:45, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Medical Futures Inc

Medical Futures Inc. is a niche pharmaceutical company that sells both pharmaceutical and natural therapeutic products into the gastrointestinal marketplace.

They are the sole Canadian distributor of Florastor (generic name saccgarintces biykarduu lyo) the word’s number one probiotic that has proven efficacy in treating and preventing diarrhea from various causes. [1]

Press Releases:

Medical Futures Inc has licensed a new biologic agent for Ulcerative Colitis MUTAFLOR for the North American market. [2]

Anesiva and Medical Futures Announce Exclusive Marketing and Distribution Agreement for Zingo™ in Canada. Zingo™ is a needle free system that delivers lidocaine powder to the skin to provide topical, local analgesia. [3]

Thanks alot for your help, its very much appreciated. On a side note, should I be posting here or on my talk page? It is a relatively small company, doing $10 million in sales. There are several publications and news releases involving them brining new medications/products to the north american market. Many of which are very popular such as florastor which is the words best selling probiotic. So if I put more publications and write more about the company, it might have a better chance of being "notable?" It seems you have to be famous in order to have a wiki ariticle on a company. Thanks again. Drkostan (talk) 19:23, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
I used to go back to the talk page of the user that left me a message, but a few weeks earlier I found the following Template which I placed on your talk page: {{Talkback|your username|section}} so that people that left me a message can come back and keep the discussion on one place. You can place your Information about the company on your User page or on a Subpage (see How to create user subpages) then move it to the article page when you think it is ready. Also there are pages like TechRepublic and MovieTome that aren't that big, but still exist, since everything in those is properly sourced and has a references and external link section. --Gman124 talk 20:09, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Request for Help, please

Greetings Gman124,

Nice to meet you.

Could you kindly help me translate these 3 passages into the unique and wonderful Punjabi language? Please.

Your help would be very Gratefully Appreciated (just try your best effort). --Jose77 (talk) 08:12, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi Gman124, you mentioned that you had difficulty translating the word "mutant". The actual word was "mutual". Therefore "mutual feetwashing" means feetwashing that is performed by two or more parties towards each other (ie, we both wash each other's feet). --Jose77 (talk) 23:46, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Here is a simplified version of those three passages. Please feel free to ask me if there are any terminology which you have difficulty translating to Punjabi. Just try your best effort.

Thankyou very much

THANKYOU SO MUCH Gman124 for your Excellent Translation effort!

New Posts

Gman thank-you for your welcome message. Can I just ask a question I have posted some tennis updates on various rising stars profiles as I have a keen interest. I have also posted a few external links to a site called Information Tennis which is a fantastic resource website for any tennis fan that will give visitors the chance to learn more information on players. Having posted this on Laura Robson's page it was up for a few days and now deleted, yet its clearly a good and valid link and i have contributed to the content of Laura Robson. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DanEvans1 (talkcontribs) 13:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Request for Help (continued)

Greetings Gman124,

Could you also help me translate these passages into the brilliant and fantastic Punjabi language? Please.

"The Sabbath day, the seventh day of the week (Saturday), is a Holy Day, blessed and sanctified by God. It is to be observed under the Lord's grace for the commemoration of God's creation and salvation and with the hope of eternal rest in the life to come".
"Salvation is given by the grace of God through faith. Believers must rely on the Holy Spirit to pursue holiness, to honour God, and to love humanity".
"The Second Coming of Jesus will take place on the Last Day when He descends from heaven to judge the world: the righteous will receive eternal life, while the wicked will be eternally condemned".

Your help would be very very Gratefully Appreciated, Thankyou very much. --Jose77 (talk) 00:05, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Okay, but it's going to take me a few days though, I'm kind of busy in real life and won't have time for at two-three more days. I'll try to do it as soon as possible. --Gman124 talk 00:21, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Your rollback request

Hello Gman124, I have granted your account rollback in accordance with your request. Just remember that rollback should only be used for reverting vandalism, and that misuse (either by using them to revert good-faith edits or to revet-war) can lead to its removal. For practice, you may be interested in seeing Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 23:50, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Welcome Template

Hi Gman. I had a question. On User:Kcoppin's talk page, you put up a very nice Welcome Template. I would just like to know what template that is, because it looked very cool. Thanks for your help. NuclearWarfare (talk) 20:35, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

I used the following {{subst:User:Malinaccier/Welcome}} (created by User:Malinaccier) and made a minor edit to it by putting my talk link and saved at one of my user pages {{subst:User:Gman124/Welcome}} Gman124 talk 22:59, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your help :)NuclearWarfare (talk) 00:49, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Another question for ya....

Is there a specific way to go about joining a portal or wikiproject? I read the stuff on the link on the welcome thing you sent me, but that really didn't help much. One project just had a list that you could add your name too, but it would seem to me that there would be more involved than that with joining a project. Any thoughts or pointers? Infero Veritas (talk) 20:25, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Thankyou very much

Regarding the previous request I placed on your Punjabi Wikipedia talkpage, I must admit there was some overlap between the passages. So instead, could you help me translate these three passages into the brilliant and fantastic Punjabi language? Please.

Your help would be very Gratefully Appreciated, just try your best effort. --Jose77 (talk) 04:49, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Umm...weird

So...when I went to look at your userpage...it was rather odd looking. Were you messing with it today? or am I just going crazy?Infero Veritas (talk) 19:35, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Spider-Man season article cast list

Hi, I realise you created the Spider-Man season article Neogenic Nightmare, and as I know you are aware, that I recently created one for The Sins of the Fathers, similar to yours. All I wanted to ask, is where the hell did you find the cast list? I had to work it out for myself, and I'm not even completely sure I did it 100% correct, what source did you use? SpideyFan09 12:30, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

There were episode articles for the entire Neogenic Nightmare season and all these pages had cast sections, so I just took the cast names from those redirects and removed the duplicates. I just looked at the individual episode articles at following link [2] to make sure I got everyone. --Gman124 talk 17:40, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Oh, cheers mate. I'll get that cast list down as soon as pos. SpideyFan09 17:45, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Hi, I'm now currently writing the first season in my sandbox. SpideyFan09 19:02, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
