Working

Please don't revert me while I am working on Ultra Monsters. The image you are concerned with will be restored once the article is updated, see talk at User Mark Arsten. Thanks.

  • Hi Medeis, I try not to revert people while making changes, but sometimes I don't notice the date/time and make changes too quick - and sorry if I do trip up on ongoing changes. In this case I did not revert, but removed an image that had already been deleted and very very few images that are deleted are challenged - so sorry that I removed when you have a valid challenge pending. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 00:35, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, I did not assume there was anything untoward going on, nor did I expect anyone would suspect I was trying to clean up this mess! I did just do a rather large edit and cull from the Redman section on down, only to have the edit lost. At this point I will probably only restart in about 24 hours. In the meantime it will be helpful if you leave the file red link in place. Happy New Years! μηδείς (talk) 00:51, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Crocodilia image

Oops! Thank you for fixing it. :-) Axl ¤ [Talk] 16:14, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi, your new article Israel Zafrir has a missing image File:Israel Zafrir 2.jpg, but I notice you edited File:Zafrir Zarizky 003.jpg over on commons today. Is this the correct image name? Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 16:00, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your help - I am not sure what to do - I think this image will confuse people as he is the photographer not the person in the picture. I don't have a photo of him - only of photos he took. What do you think? I am in the process of fixing his name (phonetic spelling in Hebrew could go two ways) see these as well Drkup(IMJ) (talk) 19:32, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

I see you are an article terrorist

The only reason why changes were made to the article is because it was identified as needing work. I find this type of reaction of reverting changes to articles that are earmarked needing help seem to have someone that takes possession of the article as if it is solely for their own contribution. That is being an article terrorist and I am reporting this action especially as the information included gave additional references and tightened the text. It is one thing to review changes and revert those that are in conflict but to universally revert is not only being lazy but an article terrorist. Little did I know that "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapter_Two_(play)" really is ""https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KylieTastic's_Chapter_Two_(play)". I do not expect for you to agree with this and will continue while administration is review the situation to revert when you do so.A1Houseboy (talk) 14:37, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks a lot - I didn't see only this. Best wishes Frze > talk 20:18, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi Frze, Sorry I really should have said you may or may not have seen the previous edits. It was wrong of me to just assume you were only judging on the final disastrous edit, so apologies. I must admit to knowing very little on the actual article subject and was just trying to defuse the anger by pointing out the most obvious problems with the way things were going. So if the other December edits were also in error and do need reverting/editing I'll leave it up to those of you who know better. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 21:44, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Vielen Dank Frze - I didn't realise there was a bot request page, so I had been considering looking into doing a bot myself to try to control the daily influx of new issues. Hopefully this way it will get done a lot quicker. Tschüss KylieTastic (talk) 18:32, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you
KylieTastic - You are really the expert!!! 11.000 errors. WOW. Hope that the new MissingFilesBot will get started as soon as possible. It took about three weeks to start ReferenceBot from publishing my idea (18. October 2012) to the first running (7. November 2012). There was a backlog of between 50.000 and nearly ~100.000 errors in all these pages watched now by ReferenceBot - now they are cleaned. Best wishes --Frze > talk 19:01, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
  • If only it had only just been the 11000 - but as it took ~90 days and at say 100+ extra a day that added another 9000+. It was really depressing some days to wake up and find up to 150 issues overnight.
  • Luckily some others have come to help along the way :) So thanks to you Frze, Tucoxn, Knochen, and the people over at US Shield requests (Notably Dough4872 & Fredddie) and any other people I missed. This 'project' has also given me a very odd set of image uploads local & commons lol — Cheers everyone that helped KylieTastic (talk) 19:45, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi, we had in the deWp also the problem that the bot the images in the articles has not removed. Since that time (April/May 2013) we have own bot that removes the deleted photos from the articles. Cheers --Knochen ﱢﻝﱢ‎ 22:57, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Sorry for doing that, again. Page is on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Check Wikipedia/Error 069 whitelist. Will look into why program is not retrieving the article from the whitelist. Bgwhite (talk) 23:49, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Bgwhite, no worries such things happen, and now the backlog is finally clear its easy enough to manage. Also a not request has been made that will hopefully pick up such accidental issues and report like BracketBot does so hopefully most such issues will be self fixed. — Cheers 23:58, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
    • Oops, gave the wrong link, its fixed. One time mistakes happen, but this is the second time. Second time means a screw up on my end. I hope ImageRemovalBot works better than BracketBot. I've only seen a 10% drop in broken brackets. Bgwhite (talk) 06:05, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Dr. Vijayalakshmy K Gupta's image removed

Hi Kylie,

Hope you are doing well. Dr. Vijayalakshmy K Gupta's image has been removed from wiki commons. May i know the reason for removing the image? Should I upload an image which is not found in the internet?

Your help in uploading the image shall be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Krarjunakr (talk) 05:45, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

@P99am > copied from my talk page. Dearest Kylie - could you answer this question please. Thx --Frze > talk 15:17, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi, You removed the link to the file Abalone-molecular-modelling-300.png from the page Abalone (molecular mechanics). I see that the file is really gone. However, it is not clear what happened. This file has been here for the years. Is on Wiki some mechanism that shows which files were removed and why? P99am (talk) 14:42, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Frze, no problem.
  • Hi P99am, you can see the commons page for that file here which shows it was deleted as a copyright violation. Also there was a note added to your talk page on commons here that will allow you to see who flagged and why. I've been seeing quite a few very old files be removed for Copyright Violation recently, I guess some people are working a backlog, unfortunately unless the uploader had set their email notifications up it does not seem likely many would see the proposed deletion notices. Hope that helps. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 17:52, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:1927 Sir William Bull, Unionist.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:1927 Sir William Bull, Unionist.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. January (talk) 10:24, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Opps! I really should have found that Library of Congress one when first uploading! Maybe I did and just didn't think "No known restrictions on publication." would be good enough for wikipedias 'free' definition. Hopefully it won't be too long before NPG get around to releasing 'free' (CC-BY) low quality versions, but until then agreed this now breaks WP NFC policy (even if NPG are happy with the use under their current CC licence) — KylieTastic (talk) 18:46, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
Since you mention the possibility of the NPG licensing low-quality versions, there's a recent development which may affect that. Creative Commons recently clarified that it’s not possible to restrict a CC licence to specific resolutions of an image [1], which would be a problem for the NPG if they want to reserve commercial rights for higher resolution versions. If they put a lower quality version under CC-BY, someone could download the high resolution version from their website and use it under the same licence. January (talk) 09:49, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi January thanks for the heads up, even if it is depressing news. The idea was not just for the NPG, but to encourage as many museums and galleries as possible to give the world access to their works. The idea being the world get a rich source of free information, but the attribution would bring more visitors back the originators to utilise commercial opportunities to fund more work. It seemed like as a win for everyone, but does rely on only given 'free' access to lower quality representations. As with all copyright law its still unclear: the first paragraph seems to state absolutely that any CC licence applies to all resolutions, but the second paragraph suggests that that it may be possible to restrict use of the higher resolutions. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what the NPG lawyers advise them to do, maybe they will stop use of the CC licence completely, or maybe there is another 'free' licence that will work for this model. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 13:09, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi KT, January seems to have got the wrong end of the stick with regard to the NPG and the CC licence. Those images that the NPG make available under CC, they choose to make available in the highest possible quality. The issue being raised about lower quality images is driven by wikipedia policy where wikipedia administrators habitually reduce the quality of these high resolution images in line with wikipedia policy which is in breach of the CC licence. I am not aware that the NPG has specifically objected to wikipedias quality reduction policies but have only expressed concern that wikipedia is possibly breaching CC licences. Graemp (talk) 17:23, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
@Graemp: I wasn't referring to issues with our own resizing, but the suggested future arrangement in which the NPG might release lower-quality versions under CC-BY. The NPG offer 2400px versions under non-CC licences. If they licensed a low or medium resolution version of this image under CC-BY (say for example, the 800px version they currently offer under CC-BY-NC-ND), someone could actually download the 2400px version and use it under the CC-BY licence. January (talk) 19:55, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
You were referring to "a problem for the NPG if they want to reserve commercial rights for higher resolution versions." They currently don't and as far as I am aware are not talking about doing so. The issue of them releasing lower-quality images was raised as a way of getting round wikipedias re-sizing policies.Graemp (talk) 20:10, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
We would have no need for re-sizing if the licence was CC-BY, we only do this for fair use images. Would the NPG really have no issue with the 2400px version being freely used, even though this is the same resolution they currently charge for? January (talk) 20:16, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
When I said NPG don't ... in my previous message, I was referring to CC-BY. Naturally, I would assume that the NPG would be keen to protect its commercial opportunities on any image being used outside of a licence. The 800px version, the largest of the three versions freely accessible via the website, is really quite large enough for wikipedia and in fact 'too large', but I know, you don't want to talk about that.Graemp (talk) 21:15, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
We’ve somehow ended up talking about two completely different things here. I was discussing KylieTastic’s proposal to encourage the NPG to licence some of their images under CC-BY (instead of the CC-BY-NC-ND licence they currently use), my original note was nothing to do with the issue of fair use rescaling. January (talk) 22:36, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

No more discussion on possible image deletions?

Hi KT, You have been good enough to intervene, along with January and others in discussions relating to image uploads I have made. These interventions have invariably led to constructive resolutions. I have recently encountered further upload problems at the hands of Stefan2 who is now not referring images files to a possible deletion discussion which would enable others to intervene, as you will observe if you check the image links on my talk page. Some of these images should be allowable under fair use and I have amended the file descriptions on three of these files only to see these amendments reverted by Stefan2 and Werieth. Any assistance you could give would be welcome. Graemp (talk) 17:39, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Graemp. What are you talking about? The only cases I know of where I've skipped discussion are a few images with non-free tags such as {{Not-PD-US-URAA}} for which there is no fair use rationale. As all non-free files require a fair use rationale, the use of {{subst:nfurd}} is unambiguous. --Stefan2 (talk) 18:15, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi Stefan2, I don't think the talkpage of third party users is the right place to hold these sought of discussions.Graemp (talk) 19:08, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi Graemp. I wasn't sure where to respond so all parties could see this, although I agree KylieTastic's talk page is not the right place for this discussion. You need to add "fair use rationales" for the non-free, or copyrighted, images you are uploading. See Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline (including, the "Non-template" section) and Template:Non-free media rationale for more information on this. I think, although I am not much of a copyright expert, that what you need to do would be similar to my recent edit to File:Tudor Walters.jpg, one of the images mentioned on your talk page. I think using the Template:Non-free media rationale might be a preferable solution to what I did but that requires more complete information (that you may be able to provide). Given that the CSD notices placed by Stefan2 will make the files deletable, "after Monday, 20 January 2014", you don't have much time. You might want to act quickly and/or request that Stefan2 give you more time by updating the date on the Template:di-no fair use rationale on those files. • Busy around here isn't it :)
  • Hi Graemp, I had a very quick look as I'm mega busy at the moment and only have a few minutes a day for WP. It's a bit beyond my understanding of copyright/fair use and frankly the array of notices on the couple of images I looked at was confusing! The problem appears to be around the issue of URAA and if or not the images were "still copyrighted in its source country on the URAA date". I'm not sure why January changed them to from {{PD-URAA}} to {{Not-PD-US-URAA}} as there is no reason given to say why they were "still copyrighted in its source country on the URAA date". I'm sure all parties involved are acting in good faith so all I can say is talk to January and Stefan2 and see try to work out if their is a solution to this (to keep the images) or if not hopefully they can explain why not (as its not clear - IMHO). Sorry I can't be more help this time - damn real-life affecting wiki-life ;) — KylieTastic (talk) 23:47, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Please take look [2], I'm confused - sorry - thanks --Frze > talk 11:07, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Frze, I'm not sure what is/was the problem? Was it just that you couldn't find why the article was still flagged as having a missing file? If so Tucoxn has already removed another image since your last edit. Sometimes I just can't spot them, so I just search the html source in the browser 'Wizard' and that finds most. If it was another issue, you'll have to give me a pointer. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 12:56, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Sorry!

Hi Kylie: So sorry to have reverted your edit on Mount Shasta, California but the edits on either side of it were made by someone with a user name which implies WP:COI so I backed out all the edits in one block. Thank you for your sharp eyes, I'm sorry I had to revert your edit too to take out the other ones. Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 19:28, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Hey Ellin Beltz, no problem at all and what an amazingly polite and considerate wikipedian you are for even caring Thumbs up icon - I did notice the conflict of interest, but as the changes sort of looked ok-ish I wasn't really sure enough to do the full revert myself - especially as I still consider myself new to this wiki-ing (and it was late, and er beer...), so I decided to leave for someone else to make the call. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 19:53, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
I reverted because of the COI of a named entity editing on the same-named page. It really wouldn't matter if everything they said was perfect, it still ends up on the dust heap. I did pick out a few things that seemed notable from their contribution and added them (with citations) after the reversion. However we are not going to accept "Mt. Shasta" as the town name; even their own buildings use "Mount"! Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 20:07, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Bwisok (talk) 17:03, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Bwisok, I had a look and could not find an good answer. After finding no information on en.wp or commons.wm I did a quick Google found a cached page listing them all under OTRS ticket number 2013122710001535, but nothing more. I'm surprised that your talk page on commons does not have any feedback on the deletions! I can only suggest asking the commons admin Jcb who deleted them for help, or you could try the Commons OTRS Noticeboard. Sorry I can't be of more help. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:48, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi Bwisok, I did some more research on this issue. There was some problem with the information sent to OTRS providing the permissions for the files you want to use; the images need to be released under a free license. You, or the person who sent the original e-mail providing the permissions, needs to respond to that e-mail, providing the information that was requested. If you can't find the original e-mail, you should be able to send something to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. It might take a while for them to respond (I think there's a backlog, as listed at commons:Commons:OTRS/Noticeboard) but it's important to be patient. Hope this helps! - tucoxn\talk 21:45, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch to the generous souls who have tried to help me with this. I do not remember receiving any email from OTRS whatsoever. I'll go ahead and resend the original email that I forwarded from George with the permissions. Is Jcb a bot or a human? And either way, how do I talk with Jcb? I still haven't quite figured out how this Wikipedia talk function works. Sometimes I can reach a person and have a conversation and sometimes someone else just crops up out of right field to comment to me. The Wiki implementation for Wiki is slowly driving me completely bananas. Is there any good reference manual someone can suggest to help me as an author of occasional Wikipedia articles (and an experienced, published writer and editor of 20 years)? Has anyone written Wikipedia (is) for Dummies? Exasperated in Michigan. Bwisok (talk) 23:13, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

  • Hey Bwisok, As far as I can tell Jcb is real so just click on the link to go to their talk page and click 'Add topic' at the top. Unfortunately no Wikipedia for dummies exists that I know of - but I'm still fairly new to this and still learning. Wikipedia is just one big iterative process to get to the end goal, the journey is not always easy, but it gets easier, and and hopefully we all get to where we need to get in the end. Always feel free to ask for help, and we'll all try to help each other along the way :) Commons OTRS Noticeboard really should be able to help, but as Tucoxn said they have backlog so it may be a slow process. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 00:05, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Francisca Cualladó Baixauli

Hi there. Thanks for noticing this new bio on Francisca Cualladó Baixauli. I'm not sure if there's something that can be done about that .png image, i.e. can it be converted into something acceptable? It's in use in the Portuguese language article and I hoped I could use it on the English language one. Any ideas? --Rosiestep (talk) 14:53, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Rosiestep, Looking at the image licence on the Portuguese site looks like its used under 'Fair use' - as the original image was licensed as a restrictive creative commons one you can't move to commons, but you could upload a copy to English wikipedia as fair use. However the English wikipedia rules on fair use are applied more strictly, so it may not be allowed, it's dissifcult to tell. I looked for a 'free' image but couldn't find one. — Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 17:35, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for checking it out. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:38, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

RE: Removed Image of Kenneth A. McArthur

Dear Ms Tastic

Please help me understand your decision to remove the image from the article I am working on for Kenneth A.McArthur. This is my first article and your advice, and experience will be appreciated.

The history comment shows this entry:

"15:08, 23 February 2014‎ KylieTastic (talk | contribs)‎ . . (7,042 bytes) (-176)‎ . . (Removed missing (red-linked) image - not a recognised image file - Note images must be uploaded WP:UPIMAGE (copyright allowing)) (undo | thank)"

The image was released to Wikimedia Commons by the photographer and attributed to him. It was uploaded and appeared on the Kenneth A. McArthur article page for about a week. It is in jpeg format.

It'll be a big help if you would kindly explain "red-linked", please. Thank you. Rich23 Rich23 (talk) 17:40, 23 February 2014 (UTC) Richard Rossbauer Rich23 (talk) 17:40, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

The article Hollywood Undead – EP has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Fifth Beatle image

Hi Kylie- I was wondering why the Fifth Beatle cover was removed from the page. What can we do to reinstate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.205.202.130 (talk) 22:39, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi 206.205.202.130, I just removed the link to the image that had been deleted from wikimedia commons see here. Commons is just for copyright 'free' images - so unless the copyright owner gave full open permission it would not survive on commons. However it may be allowed if uploaded locally to English wikipedia as fair use, but I'm really no expert on the copyright issues. Just look at examples of other comics that have images for what information/use rationale is needed for it to work. For example another Dark Horse Comics comic image is File:Astro Boy-08.jpg. Hope that helps, but as I said, I'm really no expert on the copyright issues, just cleaning up articles after others have deleted images. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 22:59, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

Just a note, this edit of yours where you 'reverted vandal', wasn't - the IP's change to the article was a correct change reflecting the new season. Please double-check in the future to be sure what you're reverting as vandalism actually is. Thanks. - The Bushranger One ping only 01:28, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi The Bushranger, thanks for noting and correcting my mistake Thumbs up icon. The reason I reverted as 'vandal' was because firstly the account had been going around vandalising a lot (for which they are now on a 2 year ban) and secondly because Chad Johnston was not a valid link so looked made-up. It was late and I got sloppy, I should have put 'reverting suspected vandalism from vandalising anon account', or better still fact checked. I assume it was probably another decent kid at the school paying for the stupidity of others, which is sad. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:41, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

Some Mistakes in the Page of Park Byung Ho

In the page, it is said that First Baseman Lee Taek Keun batted under the Mendoza line, but he batted really well in 2009, he was in the Heroes then, and also batte 0.309 in the 2010 season, when he was traded to he LG Twins.

Heroesfan717 (talk) 14:16, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Heroesfan717, I was only the last person to edit Park Byung-Ho because I was removing the links to the deleted images - not because I know anything about the subject. It looks like that information in question has been there since the article was originally created by Btnikk back in August 2011, so you may want to go discuss this with them on their talk page. The article is lacking references, other than the link to Koreabaseball.com, so if you can find any source for any information you think is wrong or missing then be bold and amend the article. Another place you might like to check out for help with improving baseball articles or raising issues would be the talk page of the WikiProject Baseball project. I hope that helps. Hi. I have no idea what you said about any change to any page, asi I didn't write anything on any article in the page at all. Must be a mistake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.60.131.125 (talk) 22:29, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi 83.60.131.125, I see from your edit history you haven't edited anything before this edit, but also I haven't edited your talk page so I'm not sure what you are talking about. What article/edit are you referring too? Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 22:46, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

Saturn Star

Hi thanks for undoing that other edit I didn't see it because sometimes due to this anxiety medication i am gradually decreasing it makes me more fatigued and distracted sometimes anyways thanks! Saturn star (talk) 21:11, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Saturn star, no problem :) Anyway it's so easy to miss those multiple consecutive vandals.... but together we'll hopefully catch all them all. Also I know how the medication can really not help 'focus', especially when changing dose. Take care KylieTastic (talk) 23:17, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the revert

Hi - Thanks for the revert on Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad - I was going through and fixing some bad spellings on Cincinnati, and I neglected to notice that that one was part of a file name. Haste makes waste! Thanks again. KConWiki (talk) 01:50, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

DELETED MAIN PICTURE

Kindly advise why the main picture for this article has been removed. The main picture has been the same one and approved by the photographer since the article's creation. Arms863 17:56, 15 March 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arms863 (talkcontribs)

  • Hi Arms863, you didn't say what article you were talking about but looking back at your most recently edited articles I guess your talking about Jeff Rustia? My edit was just tidying up the article by removing the link to the image that had been deleted, I did not delete the image. It appears I did however make a mistake and said it was deleted from commons when it was actually a local WP image. You can see the delete report here. There you can see it was Peripitus who deleted the image with the comment "(per WP:DUCK - rest of the user's uploads deleted for unliklihood of self-made". Notices for many of these deletions look to have been posted on your own talk page which link to the discussions. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:14, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
  • If this was with regard to another article just let me know which one and I'll look into it. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:19, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

Dear KylieTastic, yes the article is Jeff Rustia. The picture that was delete by Peripitus and we would like to know why. The picture was the profile photo since the creation of the article a couple years ago. The picture was approved and did not infringe on any copyrights or trademark issues, as it was approved by the photographer Jefre Nicholls. How can we put another picture up? your help would be greatly appreciated. Arms863 20:22, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

and thank you for your immediate response and help. Arms863 20:23, 15 March 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arms863 (talkcontribs)

  • Hi again Arms863, unfortunately I can see no more information than you can as once files are deleted only people with certain privileges can see the original information about them. Based on the deletion message it looks like this was deleted only based on the validity of the other challenged images, so if you think this image had solid approval you could try asking for particular ones to be un-deleted. I would start by asking Peripitus first, otherwise I'm not sure but it looks like Wikipedia:Deletion review is where you would have to to a formal request. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 01:19, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

My Message to your undo

Hello,

Why do you change my Editing? I think it is vandalism if you change proper editing or Information. -> You are not an iranian but feel like you know the Name of their Airport. That Airport belong to whole Nation with every Religion and not to an muslim Mollah. -> The right Name for that Airport is "Tehran Interglobal Metropol Airport (TIMA)" -> Kindergarten is a deutsch (german) Word and may not be used in english. It is like I put the iranian Word "Mahde Kudak" (Kidsgarden) in to english and say children go to Mahde Kudak. -> Kidsgarden is an american Word and is proper for that Place.

Please don't change my editing unless you are really shure that the Information is wrong.

With Regard Farsidan 28/03/2014

  • Hi Farsidan, With regard to the article Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport as per my edit comment it was an "Unsourced change - official site says "Imam Khomeini International Airport" and google shows only 1 old hit for "Tehran Metropol International Airport". Note that you also broke images and changed the IATA code from IKA, to MIA - You can search here to check that IKA is the correct international identification. You may not like the name of the airport, and I also don't like naming things based on religion, however that does not change the actual name. KylieTastic (talk) 09:48, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Change of Editing?!

Hello, You are denying the facts. Don't change anything in iranian Articles, otherwise you will get serious problems. Let the actual Name be like it is: "Tehran Metropole Interglobal Airport". Even so let the IATA code like it is: MIA (Metropole Interglobal Airport). Who says that the change is unsourced? Who and where are official Site? I can contact them to talk about these. No one is interested in your Name in Wikipedia, your Name is interesting for yourself and may not be a theme in Wikipedia. I have the feeling that you are manipulating our Country. 04,April 2014 14:06 PM

  • Hello Farsidan,
  • I'm not denying any facts - if you have any valid source to back up your claim please just give it.
  • Like many many editors, if I spot what appears to be a factual error I will change it - including Iranian articles.
    • Please don't threaten people aka "otherwise you will get serious problems" see WP:BULLY
  • The IATA code is IKA not MIA as a simple search on the IATA official website shows.
  • I said the claim was un-sourced as you added no source with your edit, or in your commnets here. If you have a valid source for the name change then just add it.
  • The official site for the airport as referenced on the article is ikia.airport.ir - and at the bottom it says "© 2014 Imam Khomeini International Airport" - Maybe this isn't the official site, but it looks likely.
  • I have no idea what you you mean about names on Wikipedia? Names are just so we can identify who made what edit, nothing more!
  • "I have the feeling that you are manipulating our Country" - No. I have no particular interest or opinion on Iran, any more than any other country, I do have an interest in keeping Wikipedia factual. My only opinion on Iranians is based on the fact that every one I have met in person has been a really nice person.
  • The one and only reason I reverted your edit is that I looked at the article sources and Googled and your name change claim looked made up. All you have to do is give a valid source that shows that it really has changed its name. I believe the reality is the name is "Imam Khomeini International Airport" but the name is not liked for understandable reasons. However, people not liking a name does not change the fact of what it is, and Wikipedia is about facts not opioions. KylieTastic (talk) 13:18, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

Changing correct Articles!

Your Interpretation shows that you don't have Military Background. You are involving yourself in "Foreign Affairs", if Iran is not your native Country. But you have been saying in your Text "our Country", which means you can be Iranian. I don't think you are iranian because your Name is not Farsi and your Character don't match iranian. Otherwise you are using other Name and malipulating Articles in Internet. This is a Fraud and has Jail Sentence. Ultimately what you are doing is playing with Human Lives, which has Death Sentence. Finally I warn you and give you the Advice not to involve yourself in these Matter, even if you are from Iran. If these gets serious Iranian Government will pursue you and you will get catastrophic Trouble. 06/April 2014 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Farsidan (talkcontribs) 12:40, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi KT, You may remember that the NPG were reviewing the licencing options for their various collections. I have just had an email reply from their Rights and Images Manager telling me the result of their review and what they will be recommending. They basically agree to make additional collections available for use under a CC licence, which will essentially cover the bulk of their historical collection. There does not appear to have been any movement on allowing smaller/lower quality images than those in the CC licence to be used. Here is the relevant bit from the email; "With regard to the CC licences, we have reviewed our current programme, and we are intending to recommend that extra sets of images be considered. These will most likely include the National Photographic Record images, and the Bassano studios collections (which include works by Elliott & Fry and Lafayette). We will take our recommendations to senior colleagues and hope to get approval to release extra content in this way. However, the CC licence will be the same as it is now, which will be the BY-NC-ND licence. We are required to keep the ND part of the licence as our curatorial colleagues are keen that the integrity of the images be respected, and that any crops/adjustments are approved by the Gallery. I’m hopeful that the Gallery will support our suggestion to increase the number of images available under CC licences." Graemp (talk) 16:25, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Graemp, Cheers for the update, they hadn't sent me any updates. It's good that they are opening up more of there collections, but a real disappointment that they didn't see the merit of smaller images under a completely 'free' licence. At least we tried. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:54, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
I have since pointed out to them that in their partnership with the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography they had permitted smaller versions to appear on the ODNB website. Graemp (talk) 17:34, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
I have some more news, which is good news that I can not speak about publically. The time has come for me to carry this process forward further with other people on wikipedia. As you have a particular interest in UK related images, I would like to seek your further involvement. Is there a more private and secure place where we could discuss this subject? Graemp (talk) 18:50, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi Graemp, nice to hear you have some good news - same as for January you can contact me off-wiki via Special:EmailUser/KylieTastic. However note that I'm unlikely to be able to help much in the short term as I have a lot of real life issues at the mo.... however I do hope to get back to wikipedia stuff when I can. Help !

I need yesterday's date in the format of MM-DD. Thanks in advance. 04:39, 15 April 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nirjal stha (talkcontribs)

  • Hi Nirjal stha, I'm not quite sure what your asking for, but I guess from looking at your edits to your sandbox you want yesterday as a relative date to when viewed - i.e. like the template {{yesterday}} but in MM-DD format.
  • i.e the markup {{#time: m-d|-1 day}} gives 12-25
  • However, I'm not sure what you want this for as this format would be confusing to any readers as on many days you would not know if it was DD-MM or MM-DD (i.e UK vs US formats)
  • Hope that helps. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 09:35, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

Calcium

Hi, KylieTastic -- I've been searching for someone knowledgeable about astronomy to help clear up an ambiguity in a sentence in Calcium. I've been working with User talk:Apokryltaros#Calcium to clear up several problems in the article, and neither of us knows whether the Sun is considered a star of low temperature or not. See Item #3 in the discussion at User talk:Apokryltaros#Calcium. Apokryltaros made an edit to improve that sentence, but I still think it is not quite right. I'd appreciate your input. CorinneSD (talk) 14:43, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi CorinneSD, I'm not really much of an expert in astronomy, definitely more a hobbyist, however I can make some comments. Firstly I think your right to question that sentence as not been well written, and so unsurprisingly has no source attributed to it. In general I don't like terms like low as they are ambiguous, sounds more of a popular-science term. If you considerer the Sun in the stellar classification system its G rating is in the 'middle', but if you consider in the temperature range 5000K is on the low end of the 2000-50,000K main sequence range.
  • However the description is similar to the overview on the H-K project that starts "In the chromosphere of the Sun and cool stars,..." and from looking at other sources it look like what maybe the original author was trying to indicate is that we see the effect on magnetic activity in the Suns H & K prominence, and this can be used to infer the same for other stars where the H & K lines are visible which appears to be in the relatively cooler ones. This source [6] says its an important tool for studying G, K and M stars.
  • Another source to back maybe using the term cool rather than low is [7], from Stony Brook University, where it states "There are hundreds of studies ... of cool-star chromospheres using the Ca+K line core because its emission is an indicator of stellar magnetism. The Ca+K line is also much used in recent studies of solar chromospheric dynamics"
  • Hope that helps a bit? Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:50, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
Well, first let me thank you for such an informative reply. I skimmed the material to which you provided links (but only understood some of it). I found one sentence that I thought needed attention in one of the articles. However, with all that, I still couldn't decide what to do with the sentence in Calcium. Maybe Apokryltaros can. Thanks again. CorinneSD (talk) 20:27, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

Question

Hi KylieTastic, I noticed that you often revert vandalism. Would rollback rights and reviewer rights be of use to you? If so, I'd be happy to grant them to you. Please let me know what you think. Best. Acalamari 09:31, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Acalamari, thanks for noticing :) I don't really know much about the permissions, but the rollback would be useful so I could use some of the other anti-vandalism tools, and the reviewer would have been useful a few times in the past. So yes thank you, I think it would be helpful to have them. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:15, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

My removal of fake material

Hello, regarding your message please, I hadnt time to add a note before you sent me a message. im not a vandal. Someone added fake information to the Abbasi page, which had already been deleted/removed in the Dhund Abbasi page previously. The Dhund Abbasi are a local/indigenous tribe of this area of North Pakistan, although a major dispute developed here on Wikipedia when they claimed Arabic 'Abbasi' (Abbasid) origins. Im going to remove this again, as it this page has nothing to do with Pakistan or the Dhund Abbasis, who are non Arabic converts to Islam from Hinduism. Loss of images from rewritten article

Not being a "wiki-guru", I do not write items and items for Wikipedia per se. Instead, I write about the few things I am informed about and find to be missing from Wikipedia or to be presented erroneously in existing articles there. So I am not familiar with most of the uniquely wiki commands that make things happen. I try to accomplish those things by mimicking the forms I find in other edited articles. It doesn't always work. In my recent re-do of the article entitled "QUILL (satellite)", I tried to include three images that I had previously (after another long struggle with wiki notation) put into Wikimedia Commons. In spite of my mimickings in this case, the only thing that appeared in each thumbnail box was the file name. Hoping that someone like you would catch and fix it, I let it go that way. But, instead of a fix, those items suffered a deletion. Where did I go wrong in my mimicking? Can you and will you fix it? The images can be found in Wikimedia commons under the category (someone other than me put them there) "National Reconnasissance Office".Oldteched (talk) 04:11, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Oldteched, thanks for the message - I'd always rather fix images than remove them. I have found them and added them back in with the required changes. I'm at work so just did it quickly, the article including the pictures probably needs some more formatting, so I'll have another look over the weekend if no one else has. There were two issues with the pictures, both in the category of things computers care about but humans don't (so don't notice them) :
  • Wrong (angled) double quotes - i.e. “Quill” instead of "Quill"
  • Character case issues - case counts even for the file name extension so .JPG not .jpg
The easiest way is to find the image on commons or wikipedia and cut and paste the name even if they look the same (some characters like different version of a hyphen look the same)
Hope that helps - any others questions or problems just ask and I'll try to help. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 08:46, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
That was quick! Heaps thanks.Oldteched (talk) 17:59, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Better and better -- the larger thumbnails are as good as needed. Nice to have someone who knows his way around in wiki-ese. I suppose that the "enlarged" size of the third one is restrained by my having made it too tall (?), but the thumbnail version is fine now.Oldteched (talk) 01:44, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi Oldteched, the new way they show "enlarged" images isn't great for more vertical images. However people can still get to the original to view better if they want, by either of the option in the lower right "view original file", or "more details... on commons". My named photo correction was reverted & replaced with incorrect information

The Bay City Rollers article includes two photo's claiming ( by way of the text below them) to be The Bay City Rollers in 2014. This is incorrect as these photo's are of a different band consisting only of ONE Bay City Roller member ( Les McKeown)and other previously unknown musicians currently performing as 'Les's Legendary Bay City Rollers'. 'The Bay City Rollers' achieved global success at the height of their career in the mid 70s and became effectionately known as the Classic 5 line up - Eric Faulkner, Alan Longmuir, Derek Longmuir, Stuart John Wood ( who's article Wiki has recently deleted .. ? ) and Les Mckeown. Each band member has a loyal fan base who continue to actively celebrate The Bay City Rollers ( classic 5 ) to this very day. As only Les Mckeown is shown in the article photo's with his new current band and NOT The Bay City Rollers, the photo's are named incorrectly and become misleading. Is it possible to please label the photo's correctly or remove them? Thankyou 2Infome2 (talk) 10:01, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi 2Infome2, I only reverted the edits as the picture you added File:cmglee_Cambridge_Legendary_Bay_City_Rollers_curtain_call.jpg does not exist, and I assumed the new picture and caption went together. I didn't realise it was just a case of 'correcting' the file name, as well as the caption. Please feel free to correct any incorrect information on the article, including the image caption if wrong (It's not a subject I know about). Just note the image file name cannot be renamed unless you put in a request over on wikimedia commons. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for working on improving the articles correctness. Cheer KylieTastic (talk) 10:15, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi 2Infome2, It's not an topic I know, but as a general principle if your information is correct (and I think it is) then I would think the picture is misleading and would be better removed completely. If you do remove, just make sure the edit summary is clear, and maybe add a note on the talk page. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:25, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Re: Accusations of vandalism

Hi KylieTastic, The removal of your edit was inadvertent, as you can see almost 50,000 bytes of vandalism was deleted across two reverts and an edit. This is a persistent problem and something like ten times the amount has been removed from the other article changed by the same editor, The Shapies. While I apologise, I ask that you help remove any further hoax or vandalism. MartinSFSA (talk) 12:12, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

How did you spot this? And thanks for doing so! Rcsprinter123 (chat) @ 19:41, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Rcsprinter123 I spotted it as I keep an eye on Articles with missing files (trying to clear again after a few months off) - it's a good place to spot mistakes, and unfortunately lots of vandalism that get missed. At first I thought vandal/edit test then looked at your edits and realised just a mistake/typo, I was going to send a message but you fixed before I could :) - Happy to help, Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:48, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Thomas F. Farrell Jr.

Thanks for the file rename request. It was my mistake on uploading, though I think the one "l" on the ship name goes back to the origin of the Wiki page. It is certainly "Farrell" in all references I added back some time ago and I've just checked. I'll see if I can easily find if the Thomas F. Farrell Jr. is the son of the general. Not a priority, but interesting. Do see more information on Thomas F. Farrell Jr. and his inclusion on the West Point Class of 1942 World War II Deaths marker. Palmeira (talk) 15:13, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Confirmation is actually in the general's page here, though the reference is a 404 now. Palmeira (talk) 15:35, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Palmeira - I found a link that mostly validates [8] - looks like a reasonable source.
"Tommy was the namesake of his father, an Army major general who, after a distinguished career spanning both world wars..."
Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 15:56, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
Good. Just added a bit to the page with a note linking to the general's page where mention is made. Adding your find to the external links seems reasonable. Palmeira (talk) 16:10, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi. Francvs Thomas Francis Farrell, II is the son of Peter Farrell, a son of the general who is mentioned in the article on the general; he is thus the nephew of Thomas Francis Farrell, Jr., for whom the ship is named. He is also the father of Peter Farrell (politician), who is thus a grandson of the Peter Farrell already mentioned, and a grandnephew of Thomas Francis Farrell, Jr.

Cool it, man

  • Hi Rui Gabriel Correia, sorry I was just working through Articles with missing files and didn't notice the edit was just a couple of minutes old, I generally try to leave a bit longer to see it its self fixed. However often after a few minutes the editor has moved on and not noticed, and sometimes doing a revert gets there attention to fix it before someone deletes it because it's now invalid. Plus unfortunately we have a lot of non-constructive editors who make such edits for whatever reason these people do what they do :/
All the best and happy editing KylieTastic (talk) 17:00, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
P.S. Thanks for the beer I think I'll have it now as its rather hot here ;)
All well. Actually I did not take into account that it might not be immediately obvious on your side how recent the edit was. And I take your point about editors editing and moving on and about the vandals. But thanks for your note. Appreciated. Unnecessary change to Atlantic High School (Port Orange, FL)

I am a student at this school and our Baseball team is known as the "Flaccid Boiz" and we always say "Home of the Flaccid Boiz" at our games — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.239.210.195 (talk) 19:28, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi User:72.239.210.195, Wikipedia works on being sourced - so if you have a source for that please link. Also on its own "Home of the Flaccid Boiz" means nothing to those not at the school. So a sentence to explain would be more appropriate. However "Flaccid Boiz" would be a very odd name for a team, sounds more like a put down - so without a source/reference/link I doubt it would be believed. Please help delete two pages

Hi Kylie- I created a page titled 'Suzanne Marie Olsson' that you helped with (made some minor edits). Once the editing started, the deteriorating of the page began. This happened at Wiki before about the same person. There is another page marked for deletion for her- but that hasn't been deleted yet either, and should be.

www.wikifolks.org/wiki/index.php/Suzanne_M._Olsson

Olsson already explained in her book that situations mentioned in the India news article were "planted" by fundamentalists at the tomb, inaccurate and done with an agenda. To publish them is just to empower the fundamentalists who want to destroy the tomb. Editors are adding these same errors to my biography page about the same person. I want avoid conflicts and controversy. I 'blanked' the page and would like someone with the ability to delete it entirely. This is best. I'll start another page about something else. Can you delete these pages for me? I am not sure if you are an administrator or not...If not, perhaps you can find someone else to do it for us. • Hi Granada2000, firstly no I'm not an administrator, but Bgwhite is. Not that it matters as much as you may think as most things on Wikipedia are done via collaboration and consensus, backed up by the administrators taking action.
  • If you now want the article to be removed the best thing is to say so on the Articles for_deletion:Suzanne Marie Olsson page, as at the moment your opinion as stated on that page is to give the article more time to develop. As you asked for my help I have already added to that discussion that it should be deleted.
  • As for the page on wikifolks.org - that is not related to Wikipedia other than using the same Wikimedia software. I would suggest creating an account but with a different user name and password on that site and discussing it with them.

Why so serious Liamparry05 (talk) 22:55, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Dear Kylie,

I am the translator of "A", a book of Louis Zukofsky. In the wikipedia notice on Zukofsky, the link on "François DOMINIQUE" is false: The only author who has to be mentioned is the french writer and translator François DOMINIQUE and the link on this name on wikipedia. Thank you, if you can agree this correction. Yours,

Please accept my humble apologies about that – I was preparing to delete the revision when my mouse jerked and I ended up accidentally clicking the Rollback option. You beat me to reverting the mistake. SuperMarioMan ( talk ) 14:57, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Reply

Thank you very much for your reply on my sandbox. I never thought anyone going to respond to that. Thank you very much. I'm happy that you, atleast you have understand that sometimes Wikipedia is frustrating. Actually it was not my comment. It was one of my wikifriend's comment, known by the name TheGeneralUser. He was a very good guy, and a extraordinary editor. He ran for Rfa, and was very critised by some people. Which personally hurted him. See his RfA. He didn't failed his Rfa. He was hurt by how community attacked him. He was really hurt. He requested deletion for his userpage and blanked his talk page. Before he blanked he actually posted that message, but seeing no one's response, he blanked. This happened when I was away (Wikibreak), when returned, I was shocked. It is very clear to me that he left Wikipedia. In his memory (Although I know WP:NOTMEMORIAL) I just copied that message and pasted on my sandbox and after a minute, saw your comment. Many thanks for your comment, I'm not going to delete it. Thanks again & have a good day. Jim Carter (from public cyber) 19:44, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Please help revert

Hi. I recall you saying you deal with recent changes. An IP copy-pasted a whole bunch of stuff here and [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Genetic_history_of_the_Iberian_Peninsula&diff=next&oldid=619548799 here, which I cannot undo, as a new edit has since been done by a bot. I don't know what kind of rollback tools you have, but it would be great if while you are at it, if you could roll it back to restore the templates removed here. Thanks and regards, Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 16:21, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Rui Gabriel Correia, I've reverted the IP copy-pasted copyright violation and added a note to their talk page. As for the templates that would be a value call on if this edit was correct in removing them with "No real issue with this article". Sorry I don't have time to read at the moment and judge, and as they added that clear comment of intent, rather than just removal, I feel I would need to read first before deciding if they were valid. Plus its not really my area of knowledge. I'm assuming your probably right considering your experience vs. their few edits, however I'll leave it up to you to add if you feel appropriate. Cheers, happy to help KylieTastic (talk) 16:42, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Alien

You have deleted something I wrote. Yes, I am new at this and don't know what people want to read. I don't think this is where I'm supposed to be writing this but I am unable to read my screen very well. I want to tell you that you HAVE made a mistake deleting my small paragraph about aliens. When I searched aliens I was hoping to find many things about aliens (sci-fi aliens) but found almost nothing. I decided to write more about them (them being aliens). If I hadn't known what aliens where I would have been completely lost. - Augustuswatersismylove

  • Hi Augustuswatersismylove, Your edit was not only in the wrong place (on a disambiguation page), but is was also not information, just more of an open question. Your edit would not have helped your stated goal "When I searched aliens I was hoping to find many things about aliens (sci-fi aliens) but found almost nothing." as it contained no information or links. That which wasn't just a question appeared to be not sourced and original research which is also not allowed. Finally, next time you want to ask a question on someone talk page click the "New Section" tab at the top-right rather than just editing the top of the page. upload not working

sir I tried to upload an image to an article namely Sister M Teresalina a image but it appeared as a red hypertext when I clicked on save page, may you please help me out because I'm relatedness to that page very much. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Suhpe (talkcontribs) 14:04, 3 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Suhpe, files are not automatically uploaded, which I assume you were hoping for as you used a local computer path "E:\s\DSC 1417.JPG".
Images need to be uploaded to Wikipedia first as per WP:UPIMAGE :
  • If its your own image (i.e. not copyrighted) then you can upload it here on Wikimedia Commons.
  • If it's not your image and copyrighted it may be allowed under 'fair use' and uploaded locally here - but I think new users have to wait a while before they can do that.

pinyin or wade giles

Why don't you use Wade Giles ? I think Wade Giles more suitable for English ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Khok Tsuenb (talkcontribs) 04:50, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Khok Tsuenb, Actually I don't use either - frankly my understanding of Chinese translation is minimal.
The reason I reverted your changes was not because of a disagreement on the correctness of the translation but because of the things that broke. By changing the translation without being aware of the overall context you added multiple issues: having the title different from the content confuses people; the image was broken; but worst is the link breaking (such as changing Wu Geng to Wu Kêng and Di Yi to Ti Yi - as people can no longer find related content.
Also Wikipedia is more about the sources and personal translation probably comes under Wikipedia:ORIGINAL I guess. However most of the references/notes are books so not easy to check.
If you think your translation is the correct one then maybe pop over to Wikipedia:WikiProject China and discuss changing these in not just one article but all related? Or you could update the article,to mention the alternative, or look for a source to agree/disagree with the existing translation. If you can help improve the articles in this area great, just be careful with how the changes on one article effect the others.
Hope that explains things and makes sense? All the best KylieTastic (talk) 10:03, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

recent edit, Brooks School

Hi, Kylie. Sorry to hear things are rough in your world. I can relate, I am sorry to say.

I wanted to let you know that I re-removed the stuff you put back on the above article. Firstly, we do not generally name names of faculty in school articles. Secondly, we do not name names on things like that paragraph was discussing unless there has been a criminal conviction with widespread news coverage. See WP:BLP1E. Third, coverage of schools in wikipedia articles should focus on what is different about the particular school, since pretty much, a school is a school. IMHO, at least in the US, the subject of that paragraph is not really particularly different. Sad. John from Idegon (talk) 05:37, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi John thanks for the kind words, sorry to hear you can relate :/
I must admit I didn't really notice the exact content, just that an anon/ip editor removed a whole section that had references in it and gave no reason. That's the trouble with Huggle, you can get a bit non content focused trying to keep up with 100 edits per minute! I'm not sure but I think I opened the history and saw that it had been removed and reverted before (by yourself [10] [11] and Swliv [12]) so would have assumed validity, rather than content checking myself as would be proper.
It's probably borderline if its ok content or not, I'm never sure with such things, but out is probably the best choice. If the anon editor had re-removed just with a reason it I would probably have left it, but they chose not to explain the reason. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:27, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
Good work both John and Kylie, it seems from quick review, but I think the fact it was the headmaster; that the school communications to the school community on the matter were cited; and that the news coverage was substantial; make for adequate reason to include the info. I did the initial edit, I think (above "3" link), and John originally you did help defend it against reason-less removals. I haven't tracked down the reason-ed removal but assume it's there somewhere.
I hadn't encountered Huggle before and am not sure how it plays in here, if you'd care to enlighten me, but get the general gist I think.
I agree with trying to differentiate institutions. Alas they each have their own way of often not dealing well with this issue. So well-documented cases work, for me, both for the institution-oriented Wiki users and the broader-scope Wiki users. So much is not publicized, and matters are kept quiet to the detriment of potentially affected individuals, that what is public and credible belongs in Wiki I think.
Cheers and thanks. Swliv (talk) 23:35, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi Swliv, I don't think its an obvious choice either way, which to me would indicate maybe it's worth a mention but in a toned down manner? It appears to be significant and referenced, but maybe all the quotes are not needed - people can go read the source if they want to see details. Maybe see what John from Idegon thinks. I'm not sure his reason of WP:BLP1E covers this, as when I read that guideline I found it more in reference to if someone made an article about Becker and it was only about this incident.
As for Huggle, I mentioned it in an attempt to express that I was originally only viewing the edit from an anti-vandalism check on the single edit, rather than from the overall article and context. A bit silly really as I guess most haven't heard of it, unless they actively work in anti-vandalism, and even then you need roll-back permissions to even look at it. It's just that reviewing edits in real-time at ~100 per minute, puts a bit of a different perspective on things compared to when you might be editing/reviewing articles for other reasons. Hopefully that makes a bit of sense :/

Chinese to be Anglicisation

I think Wade Gide system can take Chinese to be Anglicisation , but Pinyin only for Chineseman reading . You should see Wide Gide sysrtem wikipedia and Pinyin wikipedia . Are you English ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Khok Tsuenb (talkcontribs) 04:59, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Khok Tsuenb, Yes I'm English, and languages have never been something I'm very good at. I have great respect for those that know more than one. Over on the Wiki Project China Talk page they have a couple of topics mentioning Pinyin, but no mention of Wade Gide. If you think Wade Gide is better you should bring it up over there, as I think you'll find more people that actually understand Chinese and have an opinion on this. Architectural moulding

Surely the spelling 'moulding' is correct, being in the original English mother language rather than the simplified 'molding'? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.6.253.120 (talk) 14:17, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi 82.6.253.120, remember English Wikipedia is used by all English speakers from around the world. See National varieties of English for more information. Sometimes it can be argued that a topic is more to do with one nation than another thus a particular spelling. However in most cases not so we can't just have people asserting their local spelling back and forth.
You may say "the original English mother language" is better, however there are more Americans on here so some would say we should always use "American English" as they outnumber us.
To demonstrate this works both ways an example from a few days ago, see Plough and this version after an American asserted their spelling (breaking over 20 links, images, and references).
In both cases, worse than the assertion of local spelling is that it was done blindly breaking images and links, leaving the article looking crap and with broken links, and if the image files were used under fair-user they can get deleted as no longer used before getting fixed.
The 'con' of not having not all content localised, is vastly outweighed by the 'pro' of all the extra content we gain by sharing English wikipedia with all other English speaking nations. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 17:35, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Delete it.

The article "list of roller coaster rankings in the UK" should be deleted as it is irrelevant, and is not contsructive. First of all, Wikipedia already has an article covering the roller coaster rankings throughout the globe (albeit, a slightly outdated and in need of editing list). Why would the website need one for the UK? Are you (and/or whoever created the page) that narcissistic? Because if you're going to make one exclusively for the UK, then fairness and common courtesy dictates one be created for the US, China, Japan, and all other countries with roller coasters. To add to this, you only have speed records placed down. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.49.200.232 (talk) 17:23, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi 72.49.200.232, firstly I have no link to the article above reverting your 'vandalism' as you would have seen if you looked at the edit history
There are ways to get a page delete on Wikipedia, and just blanking it is not one! You didn't even add an edit summary to explain the reason i.e. "redundant, covered by global article". They are:
  • I agree that the article, at least in its current state, is not good. It's also un-sourced which is very bad, and as you pointed out it only has speed, which is just one metric of a coaster.
  • Anyone is free to make one for their own country, or another country, if they want to - just like the lists of tallest buildings for each country, city etc. for instance List of tallest buildings in Cincinnati - If an editor had to make one for every country or none, then articles would never get created. Instead, the way Wikipedia works is that someone makes one article about a subject, say for their country, and someone uses that idea or structure as a base for one for another country.
  • In the end I really don't know if there is enough information per country to justify a per country version - I'd ask someone with an interest in coasters..... which you appear to have as your second edit [13] on wikipedia was about a the similarity between a UK and Taiwanese coaster. Instead of just deleting you could have just talked to the creator Allijukes about your concerns. Alternatively at the WikiProject Amusement Parks.
  • All your other edits look constructive, so I know your not a 'vandal', you just expressed your opinion that this was not needed article in the wrong way. So if you choose to ignore it, or talk to the creator or wiki project, or propose a deletion its up to you - all are constructive inputs into wikipedia. Have fun, but respect others. Scratch gravels

You do realize that the image for the scratch gravel hills is of mount Helena right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.45.44.69 (talk) 07:43, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi 174.45.44.69, as per the revert comment, I only reverted because the image you added Lake Helena1.jpg was not a valid wikipedia image and you didn't add a edit summary to say why you were changing/removing the current image. The image text as uploaded by Montanabw, says that it is "Lake Helena, photo taken from east side on Lake Helena Drive, looking west toward Scratchgravel Hills" and that appear to match the view using google street view. Also as Mount Helena is 1.6Km high, I wouldn't expect to be able to see higher peaks behind. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 08:59, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
  • Having not seen the image in question, I cannot say anything about it, but FWIW, my image is of Scratchgravel peak, Mount Helena is not really visible in the image, and it lies to the south of Scratchgravel peak. While both can have a "double peak" look from certain angles, as you can see here (Mount Helena City Park), When Mount Helena has a "double peak" look, the city of Helena is in the foreground (as it has been for a century or so). Viewed from Lake Helena, Mount Helena looks like this. The Continental Divide lies behind Scratchgravel peak, 6,312 feet (1,924 m) at MacDonald Pass. If it helps, the large rounded mountain that is behind to the left of Scratchgravel peak in this image File:Lake_Helena1.jpg, is Red Mountain, elevation 8,150 feet (2,480 m). I would be glad to explain further if there is any additional confusion. Montanabw(talk) 22:15, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Not an Act of Vandalism

Hi Kylie,

My update of the wiki page Silli Lalli was reverted on the grounds of possible vandalism. I would like to clarify that I am not a vandal; I am a responsible Wikian who donates, and contributes to Wikipedia pages. I am also a technical writer, and know the value of write-ups. I am a local viewer of the sitcom, and therefore have better context on the show. My updates can be verified through Youtube episodes of the sitcom.

I replaced the word "Samaja Sevaki" with "social worker", because it is the English equivalent for that word.

Good day!

Thanks,

Krish (talk) 10:47, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi 202.131.155.21, it was an automatic bot that revered the edit by 117.192.71.108 that I assume was also you. It just revered back to my edit, which was also just a maintenance edit, it's not a subject I know anything about. I doubt it was the change from "Samaja Sevaki" to "social worker" as that makes sense, but the change to Janesha section addition "who is a simpleton" which would have been inappropriate if the article was about real people. The bots are good, but sometimes to do get it wrong, especially with relevance to fictional characters.
Also User:Krish does not exist, and you shouldn't pretend to be someone your not! However talking your statement "I am a responsible Wikian who donates, and contributes to Wikipedia pages" in good faith, may I suggest to register an account (in that name if you wish). You would have then been emailed (if you choose to get alerts) that the original edit had been reverted, also using different ip address as you do would not add to the confusion.
Lastly, just a quick note, if you want to add a message on someone's talk page the easiest way is the "New Section" tab at the top, and it will put the message at the bottom.
Cheers, and happy editing KylieTastic (talk) 11:14, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
  • Sorry for using the anonym, "Krish". I was once a registered user of Wikipedia a few years back. I lost my ID and was blocked due to some reason. I even mailed Wikepedia about it, but could not get back my credentials. I am depending on wiki updates through IP address thenceforth. The different IP address is because I update wikis using my office network during my free time. I will take your word, and try re-registering again.
Cheers,

Hunter Abbott photo

I believe you have removed the photo of Hunter Abbott on his Wiki page entry. Can you explain why you did so? What was the problem? Hunter requested that I add this photo which I did and the photographer who owned the copyright has emailed Wiki to authorise its use. Thanks. NowEddy (talk) 15:00, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi NowEddy, I didn't remove the picture, just the invalid link left as the file had been deleted. You can see the file page here - deleted "21:48, 10 August 2014" for reason "No evidence of permission for more than 7 days". I see from your talk page you had a deletion notice and that you added a comment back to January. However, its unlikely they saw it as I doubt they 'watch' all the pages they add such notices on. Note that if you link people names as I have yours then they will get the mention notification at the top.
Did you add the {{OTRS pending}} template to the file description page to prevent premature deletion? If not this would be the reason. I assume you'll get an email response when the image is restored or not - but I'm not that familiar with the OTRS procedures. Assuming it is restored, you can happily revert my edit and all will be good again. If in doubt what the state of you OTRS request is maybe ask over at the OTRS noticeboard. Hope that helps - Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 15:52, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

Shahbaz vs Shehbaz, help change name

Kylie, the real name of Shahbaz Sharif is spelled Shehbaz Sharif. You can confirm it here on his official twitter account: https://twitter.com/CMShehbaz

Can you help change the page name from 'Shahbaz' to 'Shehbaz'. I changed the name within the article (which you reverted) but could not change the page name itself. Can you please do it? yh (talk) 09:32, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi yh, like many places and people in areas of the world where translation is needed not just in language but from an different writing system it appears that both "Shahbaz Sharif" and "Shehbaz Sharif" are used.
However the official government site punjab.gov.pk has his name as Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif
The official site for the Office of the Chief Minister of Punjab also has the following :
There is also the facebook page Mian Shahbaz Sharif Official
Google "Shahbaz Sharif" and you get 726,000 results, Google "Shehbaz Sharif" and it asks if you meant "Shahbaz Sharif" and only has 364,000 results
Google "Shahbaz Sharif" in just news you get 4,750 results, do the same for "Shehbaz Sharif" and only has 339 results
As such it looks like "Shahbaz" is used in the official capacity, where "Shehbaz" is used in the less official things like social media. I have no idea if this is a normal thing in Pakistan of just something he does? This means that both officially, in context to his job and thus what the article is mostly about, and in comparative usage "Shahbaz Sharif" is the correct choice, but the article should mention both as he is very clearly known as both.

Re scratch gravels

I live in Helena. Do you? I climb the actual hills almost every day. The image is of mount Helena. Search it on google. Those hills are like home to me. I would know. I suspect you've never been here. You use kilometers. We use miles. It's wrong. The imAge you used to show me is from spring meadow lake. Where are you getting your info? Check google earth. If you still do not believe me please contact me by email. spencerbartow@gmail.com— Preceding unsigned comment added by SpencerB17 (talkcontribs) 06:12, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi SpencerB17, no I don't live in Helena, and you are correct I have never been there. As for the miles/kilometres comment - we use miles here in the UK for roads, but km for heights. If you read the answers in the previous post Scratch gravels above. You'll see that I said my reason for the revert was primarily because the image was replaced with an invalid file. The second answer was from Montanabw who took the image File:Lake Helena1.jpg gave a full explanation and multiple links.
  • As I said in my first answer I did use google street view to validate, and you saying that this File:Lake Helena1.jpg is the same as looking over spring meadow lake to mount Helena I find somewhat unbelievable. click here for the best street view I could find for "looking over spring meadow lake to Mount Helena". Firstly spring meadow lake is tiny compared to the lake in the picture. Secondly in File:Lake Helena1.jpg the "double peak" is one among many peaks, unlike "looking over spring meadow lake to Mount Helena" where Mount Helena dominates. As Montanabw said where the photo was taken you can find the view on google street view here looking East-south-east over lake Helena. However, I find it difficult to tell one peak from other, and wouldn't want to say which they are in File:Lake Helena1.jpg.
  • However, as you said you "climb the actual hills almost every day", the best thing would be to take some new pictures of Scratchgravel Hills yourself. I'm rather jealous that you live in such beautiful surroundings, its rather flat around where I live! Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:24, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
    • Mea culpa on this one, looks like the two images were similar and I uploaded the wrong one (or mislabled it) my only defense is that I was just looking at thumbnails (when I uploaded and previously) and I have been informed that I need cataract surgery, so I at least have some excuse. I also took the photos with my cell phone camera, so quality is low. I'd welcome better shots. I took a look at the image in question again, and at thumbnail view, it is hard to distinguish between the two. I was shooting from Lake Helena drive, FWIW, but upon enlarging the image and looking at it full size, I realized that Red Mountain IS to the south and behind Mount Helena, so SpencerB is correct on this one. I uploaded a better image that I am certain is the correct one now, (I cropped it from a larger panorama shot) just to be on the safe side. What was weird is that I had to upload it twice to get it to overwrite the previous one, so it's also possible that somehow the computer gremlins also got involved. But I am confident I have it right this time. All that said, this other user could have just politely asked me to double or triple check instead of dealing with it third hand and then being rude to you. Hello Kylie! I am aGastya. Yesterday I was editing this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_Energy_Central_School and being more particular https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_Energy_Central_School#AECS_Kakrapar section. Some of the errors like the school's website, Principal's name were either missing or wrong because I am the student of this school since my KG. I am in 12th grade and I wished to upload the front panorama view of the school but which was appearing in the red link and the photo hadn't been displayed. Why? Since you had removed the red link I hope you 'ld answer me!

  • Hi aGastya, all images used on Wikipedia have to be uploaded see WP:UPIMAGE (copyright allowing). I can't see this image, or one of a similar name (as names are case-sensitive), that has been uploaded. Looking at your account on here and on commons you haven't uploaded one yourself yet. If its a picture you took yourself the easiest way is to upload to commons here, however if its a picture taken from a website etc then you can't for copyright reasons. Hope that helps? Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:17, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

Thank you!

Thank you for informing me! I'll try but if due to some problem the photo doesn't appear, shall I contact you?

A Query

I successfully uploaded the image at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_Energy_Central_School#AECS_Kakrapar but I haven't set the size. can you please make it fit perfect?

Copyright.

Why Wikipedia is asking details of copyright of images? And the photo I've uploaded will be removed after 1 week. Why?

  • Hi aGastya, almost all counties have copyright protection of photographs. Unfortunately most sites people upload photos to have them copyrighted by default, that's what Wikipedia is trying to stop by only using copyright free images that anyone can use for any purpose. I thought you had taken the picture yourself, but I see it came from here and in the bottom-right corner it says "Uploaded on April 8, 2012 © All Rights Reserved by vishal_solanki1" - so unless you are vishal_solanki1 the image belongs to them. That's why for images like this Wikipedia needs local people to grab a camera and go take a picture themselves and upload to commons for everyone to use. KylieTastic (talk) 10:11, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

As you gave the link of vishal solanki. he is a fellow person of our locality but still this image is clicked by SJ Gamit. You can see it in the comment and Sj being my friend has allowed me to post this picture.

That page of Sirsho Banerjee

I think there is some sockpuppetry going on. I put up a prod earlier-one person deletes it, I put it back, gets deleted. You put up a speedy, someone else deletes it. It all seems too convenient that it be a few different people. What do you think? Wgolf (talk) 14:24, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Wgolf - I agree. Yash RIat has not posted since Javier Amilan took over defending the two articles. If not a sock-puppet its meat puppets, just a group of youngsters that love music and think setting up a pages on weebly, facebook and twitter is somehow of note to the world. Oh well hopefully an admin will be along soon and sort things. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:30, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

Gulara

Hi Kylie. Can you please kindly add a 'translate from Az WP' tag to that article, I dont know how it is done. (Just as I am so clumsy about pics. :-) Thanks and take care. --Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 09:44, 31 August 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Why should I have a User Name?, I'm not exactly sure which template you mean - the only one I know of (that hopefully you mean) is the one I've just added to the talk page Talk:Gulara Aliyeva. If this wasn't what you meant - do you have an example? or maybe ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse.
  • The image on that article is local (AZ WP) so can not be used here on EN WP.
Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:12, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. The tag I was referring to is the one about expanding the article by using the original (Az) WP text. I will try to find an example (seen many) and copy it if you don't do it before me. --Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 10:53, 31 August 2014 (UTC)

I'm hoping you can explain to me all the clickable buttons to upload images. Do you know where this is covered in our guidelines, as I've never seen that before. Seems a bit odd as it makes copyvio more likely I'd think. Could you ping me if you reply please? Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 13:59, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

Never mind, I've found out why. Sorry to bother you. Dougweller (talk) 14:29, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi Dougweller, Oh OK! I had written this answer anyway so what I would have said would have been....
  • I agree, I thought it was odd when I first came upon those templates, and like you thought that it would just encourage people to upload any image they found on the net. Also I think it make the articles look uglier, highlighting what's missing rather than the content. The buttons have been click-able on that one since the start (June 2013) but, the red text that really encourages people to upload was added only a few days ago. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any guidelines that cover such things - but I had assumed it was done under the anyone can edit doctrine to encourage everyone to edit (that means some of us spend most of our time just reverting vandals, and copyvios).
  • Having said that, I haven't come across many issues due to this. Also due to the bots we have in place now if the images are removed due to copyvio, the articles will be automatically cleaned up. So the biggest problem is the extra work on the commons guys.
Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:32, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, that's more than I knew. I was told this was basically for WLM. I'll admit I agree it makes the article look ugly. Dougweller (talk) 15:18, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

Edmond Charles Genet

Kylie,

I received a message from you citing your reversal of my most recent change on the Edmond Charles Genet page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmond-Charles_Gen%C3%AAt, as "not constructive". May I ask what was reversed? I can not seem to find it. I have done nothing more than remove the accent so often incorrectly used on our family name. In the French language "-et" at the end of the word is pronounced as a long "a" in English. This is the correct pronunciation and spelling of our name. I am a 4th great-grandson of Edmond Charles Genet. If this is not enough authority, I further refer to the pictured signature of Edmond Charles himself on the same page...minus any accent.

I would also appreciate the correction being made on the page title name as well...if you would be so accommodating.

I await your response with patience and respect.

Elvis Presley birthplace home is not a shotgun house. It is a two room house. A shotgun house is one with living areas separated down the middle and connected by a porch, commonly last built in late 1800s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.0.106.164 (talk) 02:26, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Suzanne Muchnic

Hi Kylie!

I had added a portrait of Suzanne Muchnic to her page. It was an image of a painting of Suzanne Muchnic by Sylvia Shap that I uploaded onto Wkimedia Commons. I had permission by Sylvia Shap to use it on the Suzanne Muchnic Wikipedia page. I explained to her that she had to accept that by having the painting image on Wikimedia Commons it could be possibly be appropriated by someone and reproduced elsewhere. She was fine with that. I tried to follow the instructions as much as possible to detail that I had permission to upload the image. But it appears that for some reason, Fastily, I believe took it down. I'm wondering, could you please help put it back? Here is the image I am talking about. See it on the artist Sylvia Shap's website. I don't find any of this easy and would really appreciate it if you could help me put the image back. I think that these little biographies are very much enhanced by a picture of the person. And since Suzanne Muchnic is an art critic, wouldn't it be appropriate to have a painting by a Los Angeles-based artist? She is included in Sylvia Shap's ArtWorld Women series. Will you please write me about this. And again, if you are really adept at Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons and could put the image back - it would be very wonderful. As I said, Sylvia Shap gave me full permission to include it on Wikimedia Commons and Suzanne Muchnic's page. Can you please help? I cannot figure out how to contact Fastily. Thanks!

http://www.sylviashap.com/portraits_artworld/large/sylvia_shap_portrait_suzanne_muchnic.html

If the above isn't a live link - please copy and paste into your browswer to see the image on Sylvia Shap's web site. Suzanne, Sylvia, and I all live in Los Angeles. I went to the same school as Suzanne, but in a much later class. I have never met her but have always respected her work. She's actually giving a talk at Scripps College October 2014.

P.S. Alternatively, can you forward this message to Fastily - if you can figure out how to contact them?

MusaVeneziana(at)live.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by MusaVeneziana (talkcontribs) 10:09, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi MusaVeneziana, As the image comes from a page with a copyright statement clearly on it, then you would need to use OTRS to provide evidence for it to be on commons. The issue was flagged on your commons talk page back last year here and for some reason it's taken this long to be removed (I normally would only take days or weeks). As it says on that notice OTRS is the only way to provide the permission. Alternately you could upload on English Wikipedia as fair use, however no other image would have to exist, and it could still be challenged.
  • I see you found Fastily on commons - and I have moved the message from their user page to their talk page (or discussion as it is on commons)
  • Also you may like to check your notification setting on commons here so you don't miss other messages or notifications (as I assume you did with the original file note on your talk page)

Hilary Duff's page

I realized you made drastic and unreasonable changes to her introduction on her page. Her documentary is not a TV series and her bigger success are being left out there. Please revert it to the previous version where it is much more NEATER. No need to involve her personal life in the introduction. The reason it wasn't there in the previous edition was because it was removed multiple times. Please revert to previous edit where it's much more neater and reasonable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adam0303 (talkcontribs) 22:14, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Adam0303, you said "I realized you made drastic and unreasonable changes to her introduction on her page" - well maybe you should calm down and look again then? The only change I made to the article was to revert what looked like vandalism that changed her birth date to 1887, once it was shown that was just a typo in the original editors updates I took no further action.
  • Your edit history shows your rather 'focused' on Hilary Duff, and in conflict with multiple other editors. If you feel things are wrong, then maybe you should consider expressing your actual concerns rather than making false accusations and just typing things in caps! You may or may not be correct about the content, but Wikipedia is a collaborative effort and you need to work with others and persuade people not just demand with CAPS! Also with regard to your large recent reverts, maybe the removed information is important, or as you said "These info are VITAL", however in revering you appear to have removed new information from 2014 so why is that ok? Use the article talk pages, or users personal talk pages to discuss - not demand.
  • I understand your frustration if you think things are wrong, but the large reverts, demands, and false accusations are not going to help improve things. Take a break, and come back with sources and reasoned arguments. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 22:52, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

From today's show report:

The Hulk-Mochizuki-Kid unit name is Dia Hearts. Their keynote colours are silver, gold, and black. Hulk explained the name. Dia is from diamond, as the logo mark contains a diamond. Unlike the original WORLD-1 logo, this diamond is upside down. Hearts, of course, comes from the power that comes from the heart. Like Pos Hearts was short for Possible Hearts, Dia Hearts is short for Diamond Hearts.

Have a nice day Jean Fournier — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jean.fournier8158 (talkcontribs) 13:17, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi User:Jean.fournier8158, it is not to do with if the is inappropriate or not, it's that wikipedia is an encyclopaedia not a directory for links as the standard template warning pointed you to WP:LINKFARM and WP:LINKSPAM. I saw you add a couple of links, and thought ok it may be relevant to the topic. However it's clear that you are just adding your link as advertising to all articles to do with LGBT issues. If we allowed this, then these articles would have hundreds of links to such sites. Unless the site is on-topic it is not relevant to the subject and is just associative advertising. I'm sure you meant no harm and thought it would be useful to people, but its just not what wikipedia is for. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 13:27, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
(edit conflict) @Jean.fournier8158: An external link should be added if the site "contain[s] neutral and accurate material that is relevant to an encyclopedic understanding of the subject..." Upload of image denied .

Kylie, George here! I had a disappointing issue related to my attempt to upload my antecedent great uncle, teodoras daukantas , ( cabinet minister of defense) ( 1884 -1960) image to the Wikimedia creative commons .I was under the impression that Google images qualified as a credible copyright source for uploading.an image to Wikipedia? I was turned down in my attempt . Can you help me figure this out?

https://www.google.com/search?site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1034&bih=542&q=TEODORAS+DAUKANTAS&oq=TEODORAS+DAUKANTAS&gs_l=img.12...1910.5887.0.8070.18.9.0.9.9.0.136.780.5j4.9.0....0...1ac.1.53.img..8.10.784.-DfIIs3j5Jw&gws_rd=ssl

  • Hi User:Zckjsrbn - In general most goggle images are not acceptable for commons as most sites are copyrighted, even if the owner of the image didn't intent to restrict the usage. There is an option on the google search to set the 'usage rights' but that changes the search to this, so no results.
  • You have two options: first is to find a copyright free image (including persuading a copyright holder to release it for free use); and if that's not possible you may be able to upload a version locally (on English Wikipedia) under fair use restricted to just that article. I used the website I use, search.creativecommons.org and found no copyright free images. So unless the Lithuania government has any official site of past ministers, with public domain images it could be difficult to find one. However as there appears to be no free image available, you may be bale to upload locally with a fair use claim. Just make sure to link as the source to the actual page holding the image, not just the image, or a google search. i.e. this or this, or this

Checking edit history before removing images

An IP purposefully vandalized the page, producing a red link for the image and false bio info, and you removed the image under the impression that it was a false image, when in reality it was just vandalized by that IP to show as a red link. Checking the history before doing such may be helpful; I've nearly done it before before I checked the history and found it it was just vandalized. Tutelary (talk) 15:32, 12 October 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Tutelary, I did check the history but really wasn't sure if it was vandalism or not as "146.200.247.241" had also reverted the DOB change that "71.38.154.112" had just done (As the ref was a video with no time-stamp I couldn't easily verify so thought I'd leave it all for someone who knew the subject to sort out). As for the image, I was going to revert then noticed it was a screen grab from youtube and did make the incorrect assumption it was the normal copyright violations was often get around here. So sorry, I should have been more careful and checked the source as I normally do. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:13, 12 October 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Miguele antonio (I assume that was you just not signed in), - I personally don't need the proof, it's Wikipedia that requires information to be verifiable information (see Wikipedia:Verifiability). In this case your source information would have to be more believable that the current article sources: such as ESPN - 'Vukovich, Bill' - as ESPN are one of the bigger sports sites.
  • Web links are the most used sources - but I'm assuming if you had those you would have already posted them - note although English is preferred,, other languages are still valid.
  • If it's physical documents you have then I'm not really sure what you would do, so you would find better help asking at the Wikipedia Teahouse as you will find multiple people to help over there that know a lot more than I do.

  • Hi Miguele antonio, The only reference I can find to Bill Vukovich and Travnik is this [20]. The translation is not great but it appear to refer to a John Vukovich born in 1925 who lived in his home town till 1943, and still in Croatia in Lika in 1945. However according to Bill Vukovich - he was winning Midget car races in America in 1945. If they were born in 1925 that would also mean they were 7 years younger than everyone thought.
  • Here is a picture of his gravestone as well [21] clearly saying 1918 to 1955. Also the full biography [22] says his daughter [23] was born in 1941, so if he was born in 1925 he would have had her when he was just 16!
  • I would guess that there really was a John Vukovich from Travnik that moved to California in America and changes there name to Bill Vukovich - but I don't think they were the same person as the racing driver. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 20:24, 14 October 2014 (UTC)

clarification reqd for revision / removal of photo

Hi,

I updated the entry for Flg Off Andrew Mynarski VC with a photo of my own, which I had lodged in wiki commons as public domain, yet you reverted it as seemingly there is a copyright issue? There is no copyright issue, the photo is mine and i have deemed it as stated into the PD. can you pls explain why you undid a legit amendment?

The Andrew Mynarski memorial statue, outside the former RAF Middleton St George Officers' Mess.
  • Hi Phlyer, I reverted your edit [24] because the path was not valid and thus just showing as a red-link. As you can see in the diff you had the path as a local machine path 'U:\Airfields\Teesside\Teesside 290707\IMG 3738.jpg' not to a commons image. So it just looked like red text like the image to the right here...
  • I'm at work at the moment so I'll leave it to you to add back to the article with the correct file name, however if you have any problems let me know and I'll be happy to help. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:19, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi again Phlyer, I just was closing the article history and noticed you had all ready added the image properly 35 minutes after my revert edit, and then checked and the image is still present on Andrew Mynarski. So I'm not sure if you meant some other revert on another article? Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:37, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

Pictures deleted in Electrical Muscle Stimulation

Hello Kyle Tastic, on 7 August 2014, you changed the extension of a file I had uploaded to Commons, and published in Electrical muscle stimulation, from jpg to jpeg. Your comment for the change was: "(Fixed images - just a slight file name issue - User:Gciriani pointed me towards the OTRS validated images)". Now somebody else deleted the file entirely because of an apparent lack of permission. Is it possible that this was caused by the change of file extension form jpg to jpeg? I'm trying to reinstate the picture, but I don't know how and what to do.--Gciriani (talk) 17:07, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Gciriani, unfortunately once a file is deleted it's difficult to find the information on what happened. All that I can find left is the report on the old file page [25]. However I find it odd that there is no notice on your talk page on commons here about it being without permission and maybe deleted. Was it uploaded under another name on commons? I guess reading my reply on your talk page here that you sent me an email (which I no longer have) and I assume it said that you have sent the permission email into OTRS. I guess what could have happened is you sent the permission in for File:Athlete EMS squat.jpg rather than File:Athlete EMS squat.jpeg. So correcting it on the article would have made no difference as commons acts independently of usage.
  • What can you do?
  • If the file was uploaded from another account check that accounts user talk page for any notices that would help.
  • You could ask the deleter Natuur12 on there commons talk page what to do - point out you had sent the permission.
  • You could try the Commons Undeletion requests page explaining what had happened.
  • Or you can re-contact OTRS and ask them what was wrong with the permission you sent - I assume they send a response email with a ticket number and instructions on how to follow up? Sorry I don't know as I've never used myself.
  • Lastly you could ask at the Commons Village pump where there should be people more familiar with commons protocols and hopefully access to the logs to see what happened and why.

invincible,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Michael jackson

hi I was interested in changing the intro of Michael Jackson invincible to,,,,,,,,,,"was his final album",, then on the next sentence put "it was his 10th studio album", however I have run into some opposition, can you help? . thank you--65.8.187.144 (talk) 10:29, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi 65.8.187.144, as it already says "Invincible is the tenth and final studio album" I'm not sure why you would want to split this information into two parts? If you think your wording is better, they just be WP:BOLD and change yourself. You said you have run into some opposition, but you have no other edits on this account, and I can't see any recent edits on Invincible (Michael Jackson album) that look like anyone has made such edits? Also if you do have conflicts with other editors over such wordings then the best action to take is so start a discussion and the article talk page. You can then get a consensus on which wording people think is better. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:08, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Billie Piper

Hello the reason I changed Billie Pipers "Other name" to Rose Tyler is many people refer to her as that including me. I am TimeyWimeyWho by the way

  • Hi TimeyWimeyWho, although I was just monitoring the live edits due to large amounts of vandalism I also happen to be a fan of both Billie and Dr Who.... but the person "Billie Piper" is not know as "Rose Tyler" - that is just a character name, one of many. You also removed that more valid other name "Billie" that she did use. I'm sure you meant well, but Wikipedia has rules on Biographies of living persons and we try to not have incorrect or misleading information. Rose Tyler is mentioned in the lead and other places in the article. All the best and I hope you keep trying to help us improve wikipedia KylieTastic (talk) 20:44, 29 October 2014 (UTC)

Reversion, Racism

Hi Kylie,

Just writing to you with regards to one of your recent reversions - the employment section of the page 'Waipukurau' in particular. I intended to make reference to the mongrel mob, who have long since stepped in to fill the employment gap left by the closing of the area's local industrial centres. With the view of expressing the relevance of this in an [emic] mode of communication, as it is expressed by the members of my family involved in, and supported by this organisation. While I appreciate that I was editing the standard English version of wikipedia, and that there may be stylistic guidelines for doing so of which I am not yet aware, I presumed that the general attitude of moderation was in support of [descriptivist] approaches to lingustic expression, and that there was something of a universal understanding that censorship of non-standard modes of communication is a symptom of linguistic imperialism at best, and base racism at its worse. I'm hoping yours is just a case of the former, and do hope that with further education you will learn to soften your attitudes here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.104.177.189 (talk) 13:10, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi, I'm sorry if the revert somehow offended you, but I must admit I have no idea how racism fits into this or to what "mongrel mob" represent, and as such I certainly intended no racism or censorship. My revert was based purely on the fact that all you added was "Sieg fuk [Mongrel Mob]" which has no obvious link to the Employment section of Waipukurau. If "Sieg fuk [Mongrel Mob]" has encyclopaedic relevance please feel free to add relevant sentences so readers of the article can understand, with referenced sources especially if controversial. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 13:32, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

RE: Calling Wikipedia users "puppets"

I did not appreciate being called a "puppet" by you. How dare you suggest such! If you are an example of an "editor", I will have no more to do with Wikipedia or donate to it's upkeep. I demand a retraction forthwith. JoyDeValois (talk) 01:47, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi JoyDeValois, let me first apologies for the unintentional insult you presumed was made at you. Suggesting some editors are 'puppets' was not name calling but a reference to Wikipedia:Sock puppetry where someone creates an account, or gets someone else to, in this case to rig a vote. More importantly I was not referring to you, I said "Also these 1 post 'keep' votes look like puppets" - you are neither a new account or a 1 post account. There were 2 accounts in that discussion that were created and immediately made just one post in that discussion. Sorry, I should have linked to Wikipedia:Sock puppetry from the comment, its easy to forget that not everyone in such discussions will be familiar with wikipedia policies and terms. Please don't let this misunderstanding dissuade you from continuing to make a positive impact on improving wikipedia such as you did here, here for example. All the best KylieTastic (talk) 11:07, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

I do NOT accept your "apologies" based on a non-understanding of the situation as outlined earlier. You made a conscious generalisation that encompassed ALL contributors to that article. I await a genuine FULL apology. Have you ever heard of "Skype" whereby people can converse in REAL TIME? I suggest you research and cease to make unwarranted accusations unless you have concrete EVIDENCE based on FACTUAL research that can be validated independently. I will have NO MORE to do with Wikipedia, save to answer you in any extra communications. Good day/morning/evening. JoyDeValois (talk) 02:55, 14 November 2014 (UTC)

William Taylor Copeland edit

Hi KylieTastic

Thanks for getting back to me about the edits, which were made from my work computer, hence the IP address of Barts Health NHS Trust (I couldn't create a user account from the IP address, so I've done it on my home computer). I'm actually the Deputy Trust Archivist for the Trust, and responsible for the archives and museum collections of St Bartholomew's Hospital, of which the painting SBHX7/76 is part. It is an exact copy of the painting by Mary Martha Pearson, which was on sale at Bonhams in the Trelissick collection, in what appears to be the original frame, which has a plaque on it stating 'Painted and Presented to the Hospital by James Ward RA'. Our catalogue description recorded this, as well as a date of 1854. You're certainly right that it seems to show a man younger than 57, and as he's in his Lord Mayoral robes and chains, it must have been painted in 1835-6, when he served his term.

Having spoken to one of the 19th C painting experts at Bonhams today, I think it is likely that our copy is one of two or more painted on the occasion of Copeland's term as Lord Mayor of London by Pearson, one of which was given to St Mark's, of which Copeland was patron and President, and has somehow been framed with a plaque with the wrong attribution. I have updated our catalogue to this effect, so thanks for your comments, which have helped add more information to our catalogue and clear up the dating (at least to some extent!)

Thanks

Kate

  • Hi Kate, many thanks for the update. I'm glad to have helped clarify the situation - trying to improve public access to correct information is why I do the work that I do here. If you need any other help or assistance on Wikipedia issues with relation to your collection, or anything else, please feel free to ask. Vandalism

Hi KylieTastic. Looking at the Mark Proctor page and being a fan of Middlesbrough FC it is clear there had been some systematic vandalism of his page, including his talk box (his middle name was written as MLG which is clearly not true). I attempted to revert the page but was unable, so had to do a manual revert back to the first non-vandalised page. On attempting to undo the vandalism from 8th November link here I inadvertently tagged your post as vandalism but when I attempted to correct this I had created an internal error (as the most recent version was further in the past than yours). Apologies for the confusion but this is partly because I corrected a version that had been edited before you had removed the image box, and therefore the incorrect information remained in place until I happened to stumble upon the page whilst browsing. Once again, apologies for accidentally calling your post vandalism.Mofs (talk) 02:11, 17 November 2014 (UTC)

A small request

Hello there! You might remember having deleted the Id album cover by Siddharta link, since the image is not yet uploaded. And that's because I cannot yet upload pics. xD So I have a small request: I ask you to find the picture and upload it instead. I am capable of uploading on the Slovenian wikipedia, but not here, and the lack of an image on an album page unnerves me. I can wait till I can upload, but I would much rather you upload it. :) You can find it on the official site. If you choose not to do this, I will tell Putin to attack the USA with nukes. (The previous sentence was a joke. (Or was it?)) Thanks. :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marmio (talkcontribs) 13:20, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Marmio, I'm busy at work so I can't at the moment but I may have a look later. However the conditions for being able to upload are to be an autoconfirmed account (meaning that the account must be at least four days old, and the user must have made at least ten edits) - so it looks like your only one edit away from it. As I said, I'll try to have a look later after work if you haven't been able to sort for yourself by then. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 13:32, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

Hunac Keel edit

Hi. Why did You change the name of the cenote at the Hunac Ceel site? If You want to use the indigenous name, then why not Chen Ku? Kdammers (talk)

Hi. How can the label on the image be changed? I went to Wikimedia, but I couldn't see any buttons for editing labels.Kdammers (talk) 04:29, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi Kdammers, you can change the label shown in the article by editing the text after the | 'pipe' delimiter after the file name. i.e. [[File:Cenote Sagrado en Chichén Itzá.jpg|Some other label]]. Or if you use the beta visual editor I'm not sure but I think you just click on the image. If you actually mean how to you get the file renamed then on wikimedia commons is fairly easy... On the full image page here - there should be a "More" drop down top right next to the search. Click on that and you should have a 'Move' option - this allows you to submit a rename request. Hope that helps - Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:07, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Aboditheking, firstly I do have the right - maybe you should read Wikipedia:Introduction to understand how wikipedia works. Secondly your first edit [31] was not to remove 'offensive pictures' but what appeared to be a 'joke' comment. Your second edit [32] was fine - looks like just removing un-sourced encyclopaedic material. Your third edit [33] was not just removing pictures but also the categories, the co-ordiates, and see also section. You failed to mention a reason for the removal, and you still haven't given any reason why these would be offensive? Anyway, your offence is not a valid reason fro content removal - see Wikipedia:Offensive - Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 15:33, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

However you can learn by doing small changes and using the 'preview' to make sure the edit does what you intended. However I understand if you choose not to. If you think those editors are reliable editors on these subjects then I suggest that instead of asking me to do it for you, that you just send each a message on there talk pages pointing out your concern for these articles. As I have no knowledge regarding bollywood actors I do not wish to get involved beyond defending articles from vandalism. I'm sure each of the editors would be happy to here that someone that judges them to be a good and trustworthy editor. If interested they could then talk to you about any concerns you had with the acticles. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:25, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Hello

Hello KylieTastic! Hope all is well. I'm having issues with a user, well ive been working on improving Dignity (album) page, starting with the singles section. I've done extensive research on it, Ive gone to the conclusing that the single Play with Fire was release to radio, as a single after With Love. I know the song was release first in 2006, but its form of a single (radio remix) was release after. I've made edits and have included sources but they have been reverted by User:Status. Ive discussed them with him, but to no avail. :( User talk:Status shows our discussion, I also started a second discussion not directly focusing on the page but the edit-warring between us; user delete it and caption it with,..."(Undid revision 638018757 by Ifiwere (talk) LMFAO get the fuck off my talk)".

  • First Discussion:

Hello,... Play with Fire was not send to radio, the only reference stated is an article but no "official" link to show its radio release (i.e. With Love, Stranger, references showcase this. The only thing that Play with fire shows is a digital release (remix) in May 2007, right after With Love; which will make sense because the Richard version remix was promoted for u.s. club/dance. So,... basically if you want to argue it's release as a single, it would have been the second single & if you argue that the video was released before, its not a valid point because its a common practice among musicians. I look forward to working with you, Ifiwere (talk) 12:14, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

@Ifiwere: Nope. Get outta here with your WP:OR. I saw your sandbox, you even think "Little Voice" (which was released as a CD single in two countries) and "Any Other Day" (which was sent to radio in the US as well) are promo singles. I provided sources for its single release, you did not provide any for a promo release. — Status (talk · contribs) 12:45, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
Please don't be rude ;) my sandbox, I'm researching additional references so that I can add the songs to the singles table :). so, anyways watching the Dignity page and reversing every edit doesn't really solve anything :( now that I've looked at Play with fire's digital link and yes it was released on may 2014, after With Love making it the official second second. I don't understand why you argue that? I will advise you to research and lookup a VALID reference of the "radio add". maybe? http://fmqb.com/home.asp if With Love and Stranger is here, so should Play with Fire! Right?! Right!? I Think ive made my point. Thanks for your contributions though Ifiwere (talk) 13:16, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
@Ifiwere: Again, MTV is a more than a valid source for this information. FMQB is not the be all end all of sources for radio adds. Besides, there is a FMQB source for "Any Other Day" being sent to radio, but it's still a promotional single according to you? The song actually charted on the dance charts in 2006, and not in 2007 when the remix was digitally released. I also provided you an additional source from MTV calling "Play with Fire" the first single (with "With Love" being the second, and "Stranger" being the third). You've provided no sources of it being a promotional single (other than the fact that it was also referred to as a "teaser", but official singles can be teasers too), or any sources to contradict the fact that it was sent to radio. There's nothing more to discuss here. — Status (talk · contribs) 16:13, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
Oh, Boy... not again, my sandbox has nothing to do with any official Wikipedia pages. I have provided sources confirming with love was the lead single. it doesn't matter when a song has charted, you know some songs chart without being released or when they are released as promotional singles. I would imagine that someone like you, who constantly is watching over pages would know that. I'm not here to argue nor to be rude but to discuss ways to improve Wikipedia pages; but as many Hilary Duff pages show, you don't let anyone contribute. I'm not arguing that PWF was never released, because obviously it was! BUT no radio dates where released until 2007! (in 2006 it was released for promo)

references?

Key that the article states "...The original version is just fine, but the tweaked-out radio edit from remixer Richard Vission is a true work of art..." radio edit was released in may 2007.

Ifiwere (talk) 01:18, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

@Ifiwere: It has nothing to do with your sandbox; it has to do with you saying FMQB is the be all end all of sources for radio adds when you ignore it as a source yourself in other cases. I asked you to provide a reference stating that "Play with Fire" was a promo single or that it wasn't sent to radio as planned. I don't care what press releases have to say, and MTV has called both "With Love" and "Play with Fire" first singles. The Billboard review is from November 2006. "With Love" was marketed as the lead single from the album, but that doesn't change the fact that "Play with Fire" was released first. Similarly, Metamorphosis was marketed was her debut album, but that doesn't change the fact that Santa Claus Lane was her debut album. — Status (talk · contribs) 02:57, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
that's the problem Staus, you are taking control of the page, by you stating "I asked you..." and "I don't care". (a la, Wiki:OA. I've provide sources, where it's stated with love was the lead single. (NOT release first BUT the first radio single) I've never said FMQB was the end of all sources, but you have not provide a valid reference to provide a radio release for play with fire, period. The real question is was Play with Fire release as a single or for promotional reasons? at this time I don't have sources to provide the latter, but what I do have (and have provided) is a remix release date. What i'm going to do, is provide refrences and change the single release dates on dignity and for the mean time put play with fire as the second single, (until we get to conclusion if it was release or not). hope to work with you on the future, improving the article! :) Ifiwere (talk) 20:00, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
  • Second Discussion:

Hello, I notice that you reverted my contribution to Dignity. I provided many sources and I added four references to the page, of course any additional contributions of grammar, sentencing, punctuation ect., is happily accepted! If any of my previous edits where reverted, I now certainly understand why, I couldn't provided reverences/sources. I've tried discussing it with you, but it's come to no resort, You have treated the page as your own, asking for references and sources, I've provided them. rather than working together, you have resorted to reverting constantly without providing sources and references. I'm not hear to attack or be attack, just simply help out. I've learned so much since the few years I've been here, and have lots to learn! with that being said I think we all need some refreshing of the guidelines. WP:DR. I have simply reverted, because my hard liable work is being compromise. One thing that I am proud on myself is that ive not reverted, just cause I don't agree, nor im I stuck on my own ideas/believe (like my opinion of Play with Fire and if it's a promotional single; I've not provided sources yet so I'm not gonna make that edit again, not yet at least... im still researching :)Hope you understand that reverting does not solve anything nor does it meet the guidelines WP:RV, WP:GF, WP:OWN. I genuinely hope You and I can work together :) maybe start building up the album and singles pages from start in our own sandboxes and discussing them. Wikipedia:Dispute resolution anyways, well wishes and happy holidays! Ifiwere (talk) 08:33, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

I don't know what to do, If you have the chance to look through my sources/refrences. I've come here ask you for your honest opinion, I know you are an experienced user and would like your advice. Thank You Ifiwere (talk) 08:09, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Ifiwere sorry to hear that you've found yourself in a conflict and don't know what to do, and certainly edit comments such as "LMFAO get the fuck off my talk" are not what is expected from any user, and certainly not from such a seasoned editor as Status. However, I'm tied up with a lot of work this week so I may not find time to look at the details, plus its not a subject I know any details about. So sorry I don't know when I might find any time, so for now all I can say is more general advise... Firstly take it to the article talk page, that way others can join in rather than comments across multiple user talk pages. Secondly look for other editors who appear to have an interest/knowledge about Hilary Duff and ask them for an opinion. Also Wikipedia:Dispute resolution may have some advise on ways to move forward. Sure I was wrong

Look her Kyletastic I am a new user here so sorry for my first comment, Please accept my apology secondly I have read the "offensive" terms and polices and I have a reason because the pictures were offensive not from religious issues but from the defamation of the Saudi community, Sure there are people like this but its like portraying Americans as beer bellies or some thing like that. so what I am asking from you is can you remove the pictures?

aboditheking ps: the "champs elesyee" comment was a "joke" as you call it and it was my first try to edit thanks (----) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.105.89.40 (talk) 14:00, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Aboditheking, I hadn't actually opened the pictures to look closely and although I'm not sure they would make people think lesser of the majority of the Saudi community, some of them do not really appear to be on topic. The middle three don't really do much to convey anything about the street - they are more for football and car fans. As such it would seam reasonable to remove them. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 15:16, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

VANDAL NEEDS BLOCKING

You posted a LAST WARNING template on vandal User_talk:188.29.164.204. This user just blanked the entire administrator's noticeboard[34] with a kiss-my-ass message. I reverted less than a minute after. I thought you might consider this block-worthy. Chuckle. Alsee (talk) 21:50, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for cleaning up my mistakes. I'm new to scripts, so I guess I'll need to be more careful in the future! Rationalobserver (talk) 20:01, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Rationalobserver - No worries we've all done it, your not the first, and some with 10s of thousands of edits still do the odd one. You have to watch out for anything that is a file, link, category, commons cat link, external ref... The scripts and tools make it quick to fix but also quick to break. r u kidding?Lethomme (talk) 23:09, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi Lethomme No I'm not kidding that adding "THIS ARTICLE IS BIASED AND NOT TRUSTWORTHY" to the start of the article is not constructive. If you have issues, address them in the article or on the talk page constructively. KylieTastic (talk) 00:11, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

Some baklava for you!

Thank you very much for bringing the page on HALWAI back in shape :) Madhukarkgupta (talk) 06:45, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

Hank Plante reverted too soon

Just as you ask on your User page I come here to let you know you made a mistake when reverting picture insertion in Hank Plante. That was just a typo, author has used small 'ell' letter instead of a bar symbol for [[file:]] parameters separator. I have already restored and fixed that. Best regards. --CiaPan (talk) 06:31, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
