* I'm deleting sections that I posted myself, that you added rude comments to. Wikipedia isn't a place to harass or stalk others. It IS, however, a place to maturely work out your differences. It is also not a place to call others gay/whatever (sexual orientation is irrelevant; if you think it's relevant, you need to get more educated - a comment on my sexual orientation means nothing to me, it's shallow and immature. I know what mine is, I'm comfortable with what it is and what it is is none of your business).

I don't care what you think about me. Talk to me like an adult. All these harassing actions are being logged. You are already blocked for 24 hours, don't make things worse for yourself by making the block longer.

Or as the template says: Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by admins or banned by the arbitration committee. Welcome!

Hello, 0waldo, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place helpme on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

If you are math-inclined, you are welcome to join the Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics. Oleg Alexandrov 20:54, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Don't put yourself in the mainspace. Such behaviour is not acceptable, SqueakBox 18:24, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

Whether you doante or not is beside the point. It doesn't give you the right to self-reference in our encyclopedia. Whether I donate or not is none of your business but I am a major contributor, SqueakBox 18:49, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

If you think I amk vandalising report me to Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress, but do also take a look at 3RR and Wikipedia:Most vandalized pages#Frequent vandalism from many people, SqueakBox 19:01, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

See Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress#User:Owaldo. By all means contact whoever you want. This is a clear case of you beiong in the wrong and your donation to wikipedia does not give you special privileges, SqueakBox 19:15, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

Regarding the external link on IP address, please take it to the talk page. If you do, I'll happily look at the site, and if it seems worthwhile to me, *I'll* add it to the article, and, if necessary, help reverting people who remove it. JesseW 19:22, 27 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, SqueakBox 19:25, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

0waldo, there are several problems here. First refer to the three revert rule about not reverting any edit more than 3 times in 24 hours. Second, your site though useful seems to be essentially unknown on the internet. Wikipedia is not a form of advertising. If it were a popular site we would add it, but since it seems brand new, I do not believe it is appropriate to do so. Third, pages in article space should never link to User space, period. People who mirror our content assume that there is nothing in User space they need to copy and we do not wish to create dead links by having links between the two. In very rare cases, links to article space are provided as an external link (i.e. bottom of Jimbo Wales), but I do not believe such a reference as your deserves that treatment.
If you want to argue that a link to your site is appropriate, please address your comments to Talk:IP address. If you continue to add the link without achieving consensus that it is appropriate, I will block you from editting for a short time. Dragons flight 19:49, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

OK all you guys here is the link and I challenge all of you to go look at it and tell me that it's way better then the -advertising laden- spam external links on the IP_address page!

Blocked

I have blocked you for 2 hours for edit warring and being uncivil. I have also told SqueakBox that I am not satisfied with his/her behavior either. There are always going to be edit disputes on Wikipedia. It is a result of having an open system, but it is necessary that we discussion our differences and engage in civilized discussion. Please refer to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution and Wikipedia:Civility. If you have additional questions, I will try to answer them. Dragons flight 01:10, August 28, 2005 (UTC)

Make that 24 hours for intentionally evading the initial block. Dragons flight 01:25, August 28, 2005 (UTC)
48 hours for making a legal threat. We do not tolerate those in the least here. 48 hours is merely time enough to see if you should be banned longer. --Golbez 17:47, August 31, 2005 (UTC)
Dropped to two hours on good faith. --Golbez 18:06, August 31, 2005 (UTC)
Remove Jesse and SqueakBox's names from the site, and I will put the link back on the page, and hopefully we can end this. --Golbez 18:31, August 31, 2005 (UTC)
Done! thanks my friend :) (I even left my name off) 0waldo 18:35, 31 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Petrol

Not sure as I don't have a vehicle but they have declared an emergency because the price is going up, but a littlew over $2 a gallon, which of course is cheap by English standards wqhere people get stung by the tax, and where you won't get much more than a litre from $2, SqueakBox 22:45, September 2, 2005 (UTC)

It was $2.53 a gal until Katrina, now it it $2.99 here. In Atlanta it's 5.00 - 6.00 per gallon !! I don't care too much because I drive a 1991 honda that gets 45MPG. But it's pretty sick because before I could fill it up for $11.00 and now it's over $30.00 to fill!

It went up almost another dollar last night. You don't have to drive a car to be worried, SqueakBox 15:10, September 3, 2005 (UTC)

another dollar where you are? That is unreal. The whole situation is really bad here (I was in L.A. a month ago-way worse there): there are all these people that drive SUV's that get 12-15 MPG and they are just wasting gas - most of them are a single person driving them - totally wasteful. It was frightful to see all the cars 24X7 driving on the freeways.

Images

If the war over IP address has subsided, there is another issue that needs your attention. As you probably know, everything on Wikipedia is intended to be freely copyable and redistributable. This includes the images and artwork here-in. Whenever you submit text, the disclaimer at the bottom say you agree to license it under the GNU Free Document License (the GFDL), but with images you are asked to tell us under what terms the image may be used. This is a process known as image tagging.

Each image description page should include both information on the source of the image (which most or all of yours do), and a tag of the form like GFDL,

,

to explain what rights reusers of these images have.

When you place something like PD-self on the description page it will render as:

Public domain
I, the creator of this image, hereby release it into the public domain. This applies worldwide.

The most common tags for image and artwork provided by their creator are:

 1. PD-self: Give up all rights and place into public domain.
 2. GFDL-self: Give it the same rights as any text contribution, i.e. the GFDL.
 3. : Creative commons license requiring that attribution always be given and that any derivative works have the same license.

A complete list is available at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags.

Please note that the minimum standards of Wikipedia require that an image be freely copyable and redistributable (and even usable in commercial contexts), so we can not accept images under any terms that would limit their reuse. See Wikipedia:Image use policy for more discussion. If you did not intend for your images to be made free in this way, tell me and I will delete any images that you did not intend to make free.

Thanks for your attention to this. My apologies if it is a little overwhleming. Dealing correctly with images is one of the most complicated things to learn in Wikipedia.

As one other footnote, while contributors are encouraged and expected to document the source of an image on the image description page, we don't put that information into image captions unless it is relevant to the understanding of the article. So, I am going to remove your name from the captions on Porsche 930. Nice cars though. Dragons flight 18:47, September 3, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks my friend; all this policy has my head spinning :) So put the credits on the photo caption on when uploading the photo? P.S. The cars are incredibly fast - you need to drive a turbo some day! Thanks for your help on the IP_address issue too :) 0waldo 19:09, 3 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Or you can edit it later at the image description page, which can be reached by clicking on the image anywhere it occurs, or following links in your own contribution list, like here. Dragons flight 01:57, September 4, 2005 (UTC)

IP

That was before Golbez removed the link himself, as it was to him I made the promise, SqueakBox 22:46, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

It had nothing to do with you. I'm in a bad mood. --Golbez 23:03, September 9, 2005 (UTC)

I would have deleted any new IP locator links after Golbez got rid of most of them, and I deleted the final one. Lets at least give the new option a chance, SqueakBox 00:18, September 10, 2005 (UTC)

Well if you had put back in the IP2 locator I was defending I would have removed that too once we got down to none. Having found some articles by pumping IP address article into Google I think we should go with just having articles about IP addresses for a while and see if it helps the situation of endless infighting, as Jesse suggested, SqueakBox 00:28, September 10, 2005 (UTC)

Of course I looked at the page, SqueakBox 02:35, September 13, 2005 (UTC)

Re: screensaver. You are welcome. I would encourage you too do more of what you did on Screensaver, with adding a description of the architecture of screensavers. Addition of technical text to the articles are much more likely to not get you into an edit war than adding external links. JesseW, the juggling janitor 23:21, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

Hi, 0waldo. The notice you posted on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism was not vandalism; that looks like a content dispute, the anonymous user is even using the talk page to describe what he's doing. Please work it out in the usual content-dispute channels instead of accusing the user of vandalism. Thanks. —Cleared as filed. 15:12, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

(copied from my usertalk)

I am not an admin, but even if I were this doesn't need protection IMHO. You ARE currently in an Wikipedia:Edit war with someone else over the article, and that can certainly be frustrating. You may want to get a third party involved by going to Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution, and if you do want to try to get the article locked please see Wikipedia:Requests_for_page_protection. If your edit war is still going on, the page version HERE looks like a good compromise, there's no reason you can't have both pictures IMHO. (Please reply on MY usertalk if needed, THANKS!) IP address lookup

0waldo, I don't understand this obsession with using your website to look up one's IP address. There are a million ways of doing it! I just don't think the link is necessary. - Ta bu shi da yu 05:54, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem RE: Image:0waldo.3dt359.jpg

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:0waldo.3dt359.jpg. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law. We need you to specify two things on the image description page:

 • The copyright holder, and
 • The copyright status

The copyright holder is usually the creator. If the creator was paid to make this image, then their employer may be the copyright holder. If several people collaborated, then there may be more than one copyright holder. If you created this image, then you are the copyright holder.

Because of the large number of images on Wikipedia, we've sorted them using image copyright tags. Just find the right tag corresponding to the copyright status of this image, and paste it onto the image description page like this: TAGHERE.

There are 3 basic ways to licence an image on Wikipedia:

 • The copyright holder can also release their work into the public domain. See here for examples.
 • Images from certain sources are automatically released into the public domain. This is true for the United States, where the Wikimedia servers are located. (See here for images from the government of the USA and here for other governments.) However, not all governments release their work into the public domain. One exception is the UK (see here for images from the UK government). Non-free licence governments are listed here.
 • Also, in some cases, an image is copyrighted but allowed on Wikipedia because of fair use. To see a) if this image qualifies, and b) if so, how to tag it, see Wikipedia:Fair use.

For more information, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Please remember that untagged images are likely to be deleted.

If you have uploaded other images without including copyright tags, please go back and tag them. Also, please tag all images that you upload in the future.

If you have any questions, just leave a message on my talk page. Thanks again. --localzuk 16:33, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please tag the images as yours. Visit Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and choose the most appropriate tag and place it on the images - else the images may be deleted. -localzuk 07:58, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I do not 'keep tagging your images for deletion'. I have tagged one as being unsourced. You must provide an appropriate tag from the list in the link above. If you don't then the system will delete it automatically as their copyright status in unconfirmed.-localzuk 14:42, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, please don't mark replies to talk messages as minor edits unless they are alterations (such as spelling/grammar). It makes it difficult to track messages correctly.-localzuk 14:54, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Note that the message you have put on the image in question is not enough - you must use one of the official tags available from Wikipedia:Image copyright tags else the system will see it as untagged and may delete it. -localzuk 14:54, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

-- The statement you have included with that tag is not compatible with the GFDL due to the disclaimer with that tag The following conditions may not include terms which restrict usage to educational or not-for-profit purposes. Please list this image for deletion if they do. Please either remove the restrictions, remove the image or re-classify using an appropriate tag that is allowed on wikipedia and follows the spirit of wikipedia.-localzuk 16:32, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really understand your response on my talk page so I am taking it as a sarcastic remark. The point I am trying to put across is not that I am going around trying to be annoying, more that the images may/will be deleted unless correctly tagged. It is currently incorrectly tagged as it imposes a condition that only education/non-profit organisations can use it. The license you have chosen does not allow this.
Also, please refer to Wikipedia:Civility when making comments (be they on talk pages, edit summaries or anywhere else). Stating 'for the weeners' (when I am the only person to have spoken to you about it) amounts to a personal attack and that can lead to being blocked.
Sorry to be a bore. -localzuk 16:58, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:0waldo.selfportrait.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use GFDL to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stan 05:57, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:0waldo-rolling.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:0waldo-rolling.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see User talk:Carnildo/images. 17:54, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

don't preach stupid dogmatic crap to me; I don't want to hear it! 0waldo 02:13, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not preaching "dogmatic crap", I'm telling you the guidelines of Wikipedia. Don't go to my talk page and attack me with some gibberish like attacking you with a shirt. There is no reason to make personal attacks on Wikipedia. Do not make them. Read WP:NPA and respect the rules of this site or you may face a block. Your nonsense edit of my talk page has been reverted. My talk page is for discussion not for nonsense. Use the Sandbox if you wish to post nonsense. - File:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (TCW) 03:18, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Being uncivil is not going to help you out here. I just asked you politely for an explanation regarding that link, and you reverted with a dismissive edit summary. That, and seeing how you respond to the warning here, is not going to make other editors open to listening to what you have to say. Hbackman 02:23, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your edit to my talk page:

May we remind you to be civil and to not form personal attacks or edit wars through your or others' comments; doing so will only cause tension and annoyance. (CJ)

Hbackman 02:24, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, You are in danger of violating the three-revert rule on an article. Please cease further reverts or you may be blocked from further editing. 24 hour block for WP:3RR violation

I blocked you for 24 hours for violating the WP:3RR. Having seen your comment on my talk page and your lack of civility elsewhere, it appears you need to read WP:CIVIL as well. Reverting is not an acceptable method of negotiation and it should be taken to the talk page. Having skimmed it just now, it appears the consensus is to not keep the link and you obviously have no desire to follow a consensus. Cburnett 02:58, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spam

Repeated e-mail spamming (so far 6 times) will be reported to your ISP where they take any action they see fit under their acceptable usage policy. Spamming will not be tolerated. Personal attacking (even outside Wikipedia) will not be tolerated. (Resorting to personal attacks just because I've given you warnings is childish). If you have an issue with me, you may politely & maturely take it up with me on my talk page instead of behaving like a child. - File:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (TCW) 05:34, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 • No, you cannot "send anything you like as long as it's not a threat". Read your ISP's AUP again.

"Harassment: Sending threatening or harassing email is prohibited. If after being requested to stop, a Knology user persists in emailing another Internet user, Knology may intervene. Extremely threatening or harassing e-mail is always prohibited."

Read it several times until it burns into your brain. Your ISP views harassment as an offense. This means: Do not do it.. Take your problems with me up on my talk page in a mature fashion and I will listen. Continue on this course of action and your ISP will certainly find some way of punishing you. All future e-mails will be reported to your ISP without any further comments on your talk page. (Translation into Simple English: If you're smart, you won't continue your childish behaviour. I think you're just looking for attention. Look somewhere else). - File:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (TCW) 05:50, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 • When you are swearing at me & making inappropriate comments via e-mail, I will certainly not "calm down" or "get myself in check". You are being childish and immature and I suggest that you grow up. It is not acceptable to send harassing e-mails through someone's webpage just because they warned you on Wikipedia. Smarten up. My 7th report has been sent to your ISP. Do you want more reports that will only go against you? Learn to be civil and we can talk about this like mature human beings. Further e-mails will be sent to your ISP unread, my talk page is open for mature discussions. - File:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (TCW) 05:55, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bold text

My answer to Nate is this: substitute your estrogen therapy with testosterone; it will align your actions into the proper polarity subsequently allowing for proper perception of reality. 0waldo 15:55, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Please quit reverting MY page. P.S.S. I cannot be civil because I am not a mature human being - they are typically and grossly defective sub-humanoid meat-machines that act as though they posses intellect when in reality they don't.

Civility

Throwing insults around is not going to get people to listen to you. Please try and keep a cool head, despite comments people may make against you. Personal attacks and disruptive comments will only escalate a situation; please keep calm and action can be taken against the other parties if necessary. Your involvement in attacking back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors, and lead to general bad feeling. Please try and be civil. Thanks! (CJ) Hbackman 23:18, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How can I be a sysop? 0waldo 01:09, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No one is going to make you a sysop if you continue to be rude to people. I have read the debates, and rudeness is a big factor in causing people to reject Requests for Adminship. Where (talk) 01:17, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if you are doing it intentionally, but you are being rude to a lot of people. Insulting people's intellect is not a way to get along. Where (talk) 01:20, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wait just a sec!!! Are you saying that i'm bing rude to people here or what? I'm just trying to get them to leave the link on ip address!!!!! A big fight all the time over there! You should have seen what I went through at the porsche page! I was there and then someone deleted it so I added it back, and then they just delete it over and over. I get tired of the same old problem! They are being rude by taking out my link and this nathandotcom guy is deleting my page here! 0waldo 01:24, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Even if you're frustrated, insulting people is not going to get anyone to listen to you. Bullying and throwing fits will not get you your way around here; respect for other editors will. Hbackman 01:39, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
look you're growing like a flower in my garden but I need some glasses to see you! 0waldo 01:42, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
...is that supposed to somehow be a sensical reply? Hbackman 01:45,

21 March 2006 (UTC) Well, I just wanted to see a picture of you, I guess that makes sense! 0waldo 01:48, 21 March 2006 (UTC) I have some pictures of me on my page, can you just post a picture of you on your page or email me a picture that I can see? 0waldo 01:54, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

get unblocked for some reason by the cockaroach! I get blocked too much for no good reason!!!!!!! contact oleg or jeff for me!!!!!!!

 • I'm deleting sections that I posted myself, that you added rude comments to.

Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you.

Wikipedia isn't the place for immature nonsense. It is not a place to vandalize other people's user/talk pages [1] [2], repeatedly adding spam links to articles, being abusive to others in article talk pages, being rude to people on their talk pages [3] [4], attacking people on this talk page, etc. If you want to constantly restore the Spam section, go ahead - it will only serve to damage you in the long run, because you don't seem to know how to maturely deal with people. You know nothing about me, so don't make attacks on someone you know nothing about. I'm actually a pretty nice guy to people who aren't attacking me. Smarten up or go to someplace like Encyclopedia Dramatica. Next thing that will happen will be a block on your talk page if you keep harassing others on it. You will not be unblocked and if you continue your behaviour, your block may be longer. I've alerted some other admins about your actions. — File:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (TCW) 01:47, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nathan go back to your side of the borderline!!!!!!

Nathan, please just you and your friends stay off of my page here - I'm tired of your trouble that you have caused me!!!!!!!! 0waldo 02:00, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Um, if Nathan's account of you harassing him via e-mail is correct, you have gotten into that bit of trouble yourself. Also, Nathan didn't make you insult and attack other editors. You typed those words. No one held a gun to your head and forced you to be incivil and disrespectful. Please don't try to blame your block on other people. Hbackman 02:02, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are in danger of violating the three-revert rule on an article. Please cease further reverts or you may be blocked from further editing.
