Hello, Sjones23. Since, judging by [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:MuZemike/Archive_9#Picker78_again.3F this], you have some experience with Picker78, would you mind commenting on this latest sockpuppet investigation concerning him? I'm certain that he has returned as a new incarnation, but, at this point, it looks like he'll likely get away with his latest sockpuppeting. I'm not sure who else to ask to weigh in on this since the others who regularly dealt with him are now inactive or are generally inactive on Wikipedia, except for [[User:Nigelj|Nigelj]]. But since Nigelj has avoided this latest matter, I can only assume that he either doesn't want to weigh in on this and/or thinks he has nothing to offer to the investigation. And then there is [[User:NeilN|NeilN]] and others, who have only briefly interacted with Picker78. NeilN has...if judging by [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Prostitution&diff=587206460&oldid=587196708#Definition_error this discussion] (note that like I stated in the latest Picker78 sockpuppet investigation, I'm certain that Picker78 is involved in that discussion by way of IP editing, not jut as Promiscuous man). Final Fantasy
Thank you for sharing your knowledge on music and games in quality articles, with a sense for team work, and for your goal to make Beethoven a featured article, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
A year ago, you were the 250th recipient of my PumpkinSky Prize, br'erly style, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:14, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, Gerda. Even though a certain arbitration case has ended, I admire you for your editing work and personality in general. You are truly a sweetheart. :-) Regards, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 03:49, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
WikiCup 2013 September newsletter
In 30 days, we will know the identity of our 2013 WikiCup champion. Cwmhiraeth (submissions) currently leads; if that lead is held, she will become the first person to have won the WikiCup twice. Sasata (submissions), Hawkeye7 (submissions)—who has never participated in the competition before—and Casliber (submissions) follow. The majority of points in this round have come from a mix of good articles and bonus points. This final round is seeing contributions to a number of highly important topics; recent submissions include Phoenix (constellation) (FA by Casliber), Ernest Lawrence (GA by Hawkeye7), Pinniped, and red fox (both GAs by Sasata).
The did you know (DYK) eligibility criteria have recently changed, meaning that newly passed good articles are accepted as "new" for did you know purposes. However, in the interests of not changing the WikiCup rules mid-competition, please note that only articles eligible for DYK under the old system (that is, newly created articles or 5x expansions) will be eligible for points in this year's WikiCup. We do, however, have time to discuss how this new system will work for next year's competition; a discussion will be opened in due course. On that note, thoughts are welcome on changes you'd like to see for next year. What worked? What didn't work? What would you like to see more of? What would you like to see less of? All Wikipedians, new or old, are also warmly invited to sign up for the 2014 WikiCup.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to reduce the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Barnstar move request
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Hi. Can a user or administrator please move the above barnstar award to my barnstars subpage? I am currently indef-blocked by Salvidrim! (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) to enforce my own Wikibreak, which I have been on since August 15 and I am using my talk page at the moment, but would need some assistance here. Thank you very much in advance, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 23:12, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
- Done Huon (talk) 23:52, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you very much once again, Huon. I appreciate it very much. Best wishes, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 23:58, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
Unblock request
Sjones23 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I would like to request an unblock on my account. Looking back on my history up until now, I feel that I am about ready to come back and serve the Wikipedia community once more as a valuable contributor and will not let past issues or stress get to me anymore after being off-wiki for 2 months. I think that's plenty, as I am fully energized now. Also, can my talk page be unprotected and can my user page semi-protection be restored? Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:08, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
Accept reason:
- Should be all done; check to see if it's how you want it. --jpgordon::==( o ) 00:19, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
- It's all set! :) By the way, if you encounter any personal attacks or abusive users on my page, can you help remove them? Thanks. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:48, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
Welcome back
Hey, welcome back. I would taker you up for a collaboration but you come as I'm going (I may leave wiki for some months to dedicate to some real-life endeavours), but I'm haply anyways that you are back. Happy editing! — ΛΧΣ21 02:47, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the welcome back, Hahc21. Best wishes, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 06:40, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
- Nice to see you back. Good luck.Tintor2 (talk) 16:47, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
- Chiming on with the other in saying how good it is to have you back. Isn't it nice that we can go directly o Bishonen to deal with the B-o-T vandal? Cheers and happy editing whenever possible! MarnetteD | Talk 19:13, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
- It wasn't with pleasure that I blocked the account at your request to enforce the wikibreak, but I at least hope it helped and I'm very glad you're able to come back and keep improving the project. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 04:04, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
- I think that block helped out a lot, since I have decided not to let past issues, such as dealing with long-term abusive users get to me after all (I can't stand those turkeys), as I am making this clear that I will personally not tolerate editing in an environment that permits any violation of our WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA policies, nor vandalism. Thanks, Salvidrim, and everyone else for the welcome back. Best wishes, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 17:09, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Prizes will be handed out in the coming weeks. Please be patient!
Congratulations to everyone who has been successful in this year's WikiCup, whether you made it to the final rounds or not, and a particular congratulations to the newcomers to the WikiCup who have achieved this year. Thanks to all who have taken part and helped out with the competition. While it has been an excellent year, errors have opened up the judges' eyes to the need for a third judge, and it is with pleasure that we announce that experienced WikiCup participant Miyagawa will be acting as a judge from now on. We hope you will all join us in welcoming him to the team.
Next year's competition begins on 1 January. You are invited to sign up to participate; it is open to all Wikipedians, new and old. Brainstorming and discussion remains open for how next year's competition will work, and straw polls will be opened by the judges soon. Those interested in friendly competition may also like to keep an eye on the stub contest, being organised by Casliber. The WikiCup judges will be back in touch over the coming months, and we hope to see you all in the 2014 competition. Until then, it only remains to once again congratulate our worthy winners, and thank all participants for their involvement! Another note about User talk:Martinvl.

- I'll see what I can do, but I'll let you know that I am not an administrator. Thanks. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 17:53, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- Then you should not've closed the discussion at all. Please revert your closure, and allow an uninvolved administrator to do so. RGloucester — ☎ 17:55, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- And just to clarify, I have been here for 6 years and am an experienced editor here with over 50,000 edits to the project. Basically, I closed that discussion as a non-admin closure since an uninvolved editor was requested actually. I would rather let an administrator decline an unblock request. New section on the Anime and Manga RfC
Hello there. Since the Anime and Manga RfC seems to have developed a consensus for the "It depends on notability and uniqueness of each adaptation", I have started a thread to see if we can offer metrics or further guidance for such case by case... erm... cases. I have no idea if such a thing is even possible to draft up, but since having it might help, I figured I'd try. The thread is HERE, and as a previous participant in the RfC I wanted to let you know about it using this overly long, rambling message. Cheers, Sven Manguard Wha? 15:59, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

List of Fairy Tail episodes
After looking over the Funimation official website, it seems they have the lineup of Fairy Tail seasons on the List of Fairy Tail episodes page is different from the way it's lined up on Wikipedia, whereas the episodes in Japan seem to have no seasonal lineup at all. I've started a discussion on the talk page of the article to elaborate. I'd very much appreciate your input. User:Immblueversion (talk) 02:37, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
GAN December 2013 Backlog Drive
Hello! A GAN Backlog Drive will begin in less than 4 days! In past Backlog Drives, the goal was to reduce the backlog of Good article nominations. In the upcoming drive, another goal will be added - raising as much money as we can for the Wikimedia Foundation. How will this work? Well, its pretty simple. Any user interested in donating can submit a pledge at the Backlog Drive page (linked above). The pledge should mention the amount of money the user is willing to donate per review. For example, if a user pledges 5 cents per review and 100 nominations are reviewed, the total donation amount is $5.00. At the time this message was sent out, two users have submitted pledges for a total of 8 cents per review. All pledges, no matter how much money, are greatly appreciated. Also, in no way is this saying you must make a pledge. |
Tara Platt
Thank you for restoring the Tara Platt article. It was stressing me out. I'm just a user who just undo vandalism and I don't know if I was doing the right thing or not. FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 06:46, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hi. Your concerns over the article on Tara Platt have been acknowledged. As you know, all unsourced or poorly sourced material should be removed per the policy on WP:V, and I am adding sources as I go along. But just to let you know, Two kinds of pork (talk · contribs) is a newbie editor who has been editing since June 2013. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 06:48, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- Well, thank you for adding source to it. - FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 07:04, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- No problem. Before I get blamed for edit warring, I only made 1 revert to the article, the rest was adding sourced information. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 07:13, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- I also left a message over on Two kinds of pork's talk page and started a discussion on the talk page of the article in question so we can prevent further edit warring. Please join the discussion there. Best wishes, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 07:23, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- Probably not at the moment. I'm still trying to calm down after that incident. Right now, another user just wrote a comment on that talk page and he/she just made it worst. - FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 10:41, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Flow testing
Hey Sjones :). As mentioned on the Wikiproject Video Games talkpage, we've opened Flow up for community testing. I'd be really grateful if you could hammer on the system (if you haven't already!), let me know any bugs you find, and leave a note at the 'first release' page explaining what you, as a member of the VG wikiproject, would need to see to be okay with it being deployed on that wikiproject's talkpage.

Sonic work
So, I know I can be flakey sometimes when it comes to collaborating on articles with others, since I kind of wander in and out of whatever takes my interest for the given moment...but I'm feeling some motivation to work on some Sonic related articles.
If you're interested, I was wondering if you wanted to work on an Sonic article together, and if so, you can even pick which one, if you like. If you're too busy, or not interested, I completely understand too, no problem. If you decline, I'll probably just pick one myself, and you can always join in later if you like. Let me know. Sergecross73 msg me 14:06, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- That's fair enough. I think we should go for Sonic Adventure 2 and the first three Sonic games. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:57, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
G-Zay
Thanks for removing that drivel from my talk page. I'm not sure if G-Zay really thinks that we're that dumb, or if he's that dumb, or what, to think that after 6 months of sockpuppetting, he can claim that he's not going to do so anymore, and then go right on doing the exact same thing and think that we won't know it's him. Doubly so when he admits the latest round was him. I really wish he'd just get a new hobby. --PresN 05:42, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
- No problem. At first, I thought G-Zay contributed useful information, but after participating in some discussions as well as that ban discussion, my opinion of him soon changed. Nowadays, I really can't stand what he did, especially with that mess of article sourcing that he did on the FF articles. I think we should create an edit filter to prevent G-Zay's edits. Updates have been made; you can make comment while the review lasts. --George Ho (talk) 20:44, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
GOCE December 2013 Blitz wrap-up and January Drive invitation
December Notes from the Guild of Copy Editors
The December blitz ran from December 8–14. The theme for this blitz was articles tied in some way to religion. Seven editors knocked out 20 articles over the course of the week. Our next blitz will be in February, with a theme to be determined. Feel free to make theme suggestions at the Guild talk page! The January 2014 Backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on January 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on January 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copy edit all articles tagged in October and November 2012 and complete all requests placed before the end of 2013. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in October and November 2012", and "Longest article". We hope to see you there! Coordinator election: Voting is open for candidates to serve as GOCE coordinators from 1 January through 30 June 2014. Voting will run until the end of December. For complete information, please have a look at the election page. – Your drive coordinators: Torchiest and Torchiest, Baffle gab1978 and Baffle gab1978, Jonesey95 and Jonesey95, and The Utahraptor and The Utahraptor To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list. Hello, Sjones23. Since, judging by this, you have some experience with Picker78, would you mind commenting on this latest sockpuppet investigation concerning him? I'm not sure who else to ask to weigh in on this since the others who regularly dealt with him are now inactive or are generally inactive on Wikipedia, except for Nigelj. But since Nigelj has avoided this latest matter, I can only assume that he either doesn't want to weigh in on this and/or thinks he has nothing to offer to the investigation. And then there is NeilN and others, who have only briefly interacted with Picker78. NeilN has...if judging by this discussion (note that like I stated in the latest Picker78 sockpuppet investigation, I'm certain that Picker78 is involved in that discussion by way of IP editing, not jut as Promiscuous man).
