Bay State Conference

I thought I would let you know that some time back I created an article for the BSC. It was deleted, however, as it was deemed to fail WP:GNG. I'm not going to put that process in motion again, but know someone might. Nice effort on the local sports coverage, though! --Briancua (talk) 13:43, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

South Braintree Middle School

I've restored the redirect on this article. There is nothing remotely notable in the article. Per the norm for elementary and junior high schools it has been redirected to the school board. Please do not restore this article again. Meters (talk) 00:21, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

S. Braintree MS again

Aiden, please stop. If you revert the same edit 3 times in 24 hours you are subject to being immediately blocked. That's one more time. Two different editors told you at Teahouse that this article is a non-starter. Another editor told you above. Wikipedia is a collaberative projects. Things get decided by consensus. In some cases some general consensuses have been reached about certain catagories of articles. These are called guidelines and the one that applies to schools is at WP:SCH/AG. It states clearly that barring some extra-ordinary quality, middle and elementary school articles are to be redirected to the school district. The only clear cut thing I can think of is if the building is on the NRHP. It is unfortunate that noone caught up with you prior to your investment of much time on it, but as I pointed out at the Teahouse, you did learn some things. I am mainly a school article editor and I would love to help you. Drop me a note at my talk if that would be agreeable. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 02:01, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at South Braintree Middle School shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Enough already. You've had lots of polite messages about this. The redirect is the normal way to handle non-notable elementary and junior high school articles, and several editors have redirected it. If you don't understand, ask. If you continue to restore this article you will likely be blocked. Meters (talk) 02:49, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:South Shore Town Cup.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:South Shore Town Cup.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:05, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2014 South Shore Town Cup

I wanted to give you a heads up that I nominated 2014 South Shore Town Cup for deletion. Especially since the main article failed WP:N, I don't think this one will either. --Briancua (talk) 17:23, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop inserting spam links as you did (twice) at Braintree High School. Please familiarize yourself with WP:EL and WPP:SCH/AG. Thank you. John from Idegon (talk) 22:09, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The link that I added was not spam. It is the correct link to their schools athletic page. I happen to live in Braintree and know a lot about the school. The link is not spam, they recently got a new one and the one I added is correct. Aidan721 22:16, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
Links to school athletic sites are not allowed. When someone gives you advice and provides you with the policy to back it up, you really should pay attention. Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can edit. Nothing in that statement even implies that it is the encyclopedia you can add whatever you want to. You have continually ignored what experienced editors are telling you. Soon the fact that you are new will cease to matter and you will be called to task for what is basically obstructive editing. Perhaps you should consider WP:ADOPTION. Please try to understand what I am telling you and realize that the advice you are being given is being given with the goal of helping you become a successful editor here. Read some of the links you have been provided, and ask questions about what you do not understand, please. Best of luck to you. John from Idegon (talk) 17:40, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 10:32, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm John from Idegon. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Braintree High School without explaining why. The content that I removed, I believe might've been added in the first place by mistake. The reference is a link to the Belmont High School (Massachusetts) website. Also, the link is not useful as it may be a dead link. --Aidan721 (talk) 21:25, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

USPLACE

Please review WP:USPLACE and its long history of disruptive attempts to do something different. We understand your point about so-called "unnecessary disambiguation", but this compromise was designed to prevent wasting even more time on that argument. Since, as you can see, you can't win this, please just recognize that it's disruptive and withdraw your RMs. Dicklyon (talk) 18:11, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Then explain to me why the city, Boston, is not located at Boston, Massachusetts. This applies to many other pages. If WP:USPLACE is used then it should either be moved to Boston, Massachusetts or the disambiguation should not be used when it is not needed. I understand your reasoning it just seems too inconsistent to me. Thank you anyways. --Aidan721 (talk) 18:38, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Did you read WP:USPLACE? That's where you find the explanation that you request, about the 30 cities for which we do not add the state. Dicklyon (talk) 19:01, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've been doing a lot of moves, including my high school to Stephen F. Austin High School (El Paso, Texas). Why the long official name instead of the common name? Are you not familiar with our naming WP:CRITERIA such as recognizability, as supported by WP:COMMONNAME? Dicklyon (talk) 18:16, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I moved it back. I'll let someone else worry about the others. Don't do this. Dicklyon (talk) 19:05, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I see you're new here. Please slow down on the moves, take time to learn the conventions, ask when you're not sure, etc. Dicklyon (talk) 18:17, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Hollingsworth Park Braintree, MA new playground.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Hollingsworth Park Braintree, MA new playground.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 05:25, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Quincy page moves

Aidan, would you prefer to revert those page moves of yours or shall I do it myself? You asked for people's opinions on the move, you had unanimous Opposes, and now you've done it anyway. It's plain that consensus was NOT to move those articles. Ravenswing 00:16, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ravenswing, there are many neighborhoods or villages that use the [[Neighborhood, Massachusetts]] format.
  • So what? You asked for a discussion on moving those articles. Not a single editor agreed with you. You do not now get to defy the consensus because it produced a result you don't like. By tomorrow, if you haven't demonstrated good faith by reverting those articles, I'm doing so myself. Ravenswing 19:54, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon A tag has been placed on South Shore League requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Super Eight (hockey), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Central Catholic High School (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:13, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:High schools in the United States by athletic conference requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:List of Bay State Conference champions, from its old location at User:Aidan721/List of Bay State Conference champions. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. North America1000 23:18, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:2008 WJHC logo.gif

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:2008 WJHC logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:04, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on BC High Eagles requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
