A multi-sport athlete is an athlete who competes at a high level in two or more different sports. Most athletes play two or more sports from a young age – especially in high school – before deciding to concentrate on just one sport.

  • Eddie Lubanski – a USBC Hall of Fame member, pitched for three seasons for farm clubs of the St. Louis Browns. He compiled an enviable 50–18 win-loss record, winning 20 games in his second season, but quit baseball entirely after a dispute with the owner of the Muskogee Reds.[35] He returned to Detroit to become a full-time pro bowler, an occupation he had started at age fifteen.
  • Walter Ray Williams, Jr. – Seven-time PBA Player of the Year, Walter Ray has also won six Men's World Horseshoe Pitching titles.

  • Monty Betham - son of Monty Betham Sr. Former Rugby League player who switched to professional boxing post retirement, he also came second in Dancing With the Stars in 2008.
  • Benji Marshall - Represented Australia in touch football, played for West Tigers for 11 season and will be switching to rugby union in 2014.
  • John Hopoate – After multiple suspensions forced him to retire from rugby league, he pursued a career in boxing, eventually becoming the Australian heavyweight champion.[54]
  • Anthony Mundine – Has had a career as a boxer, from 2000 to the present.
  • Darren Edward Clark – Has had a career as a runner running 4th at both the 1984 and 1988 Olympics and finished his career with the Balmain Tigers
  • Michael O'Connor – represented Australia in Rugby League and Rugby Union, He played for the Wallabies in 13 Tests from 1979 to 1982 and then the Kangaroos in 17 Tests from 1985 to 1990. O'Connor played club football in the NSWRL Premiership for the St. George Dragons and later the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, becoming captain of the latter and winning the 1987 Winfield Cup with them

  • Rob Waddell - a retired rower, 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist in single sculls rowing who is a current Team New Zealand crewman as a grinder, he also played rugby union as a lock. He still holds world indoor rowing machine record time over 2000m and 5000m.

All slamball players have a background in either track and field, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey or American Football, some are even gymnasts or wrestlers.

  • Shaun Palmer - (born November 14, 1968) is an American professional snowboarder, skier, mountain biker, and motocross rider. "Palm Daddy" is known as one of the forefathers of extreme sports.
