Please refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Nationality_of_people_from_the_United_Kingdom for the definition of what makes someone English. Birthplace doesn't matter, if he was born in England I have a feeling there wouldn't be controversy about how "English" he is. He grew up in England and therefore knows nothing but England as it's the environment and culture he grew up in and has a connection to enough to make him English. Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:04, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello can You please update The page of Vinicius Freitas Lazio. He won the swiss cup 2015/2016 on May this year but It is Not updated. Thanks here is The link for reference:

Please don't talk to me like that. From what I can see, he's commonly known as Shaq. Admittedly, he is also commonly known by his full name, but Shaq is used by a significant number of sources. Furthermore, your example about Shaquille O'Neal is spurious, since he is never known as "Shaq O'Neal", whereas McDonald is commonly known as "Shaq McDonald". – PeeJay 19:27, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't, I was simply cleaning up the information added by another user and now I am going to place a citation tag or add the ref myself. I know it isn't unsourced because I've just been reading it on Roma's official website. Kő Cloch (talk) 19:13, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Qed237 I'm not fixing that, as you crudely dismissed my edits as unsourced and stupidly reverted all three, I hope Wikipedia can count on you to fix the mess you have created by reverting some material before I could even add the ref backing everything that has already been mentioned with reference to Edin joining Roma.

Sorry but I accidentally reverted User:Vaselineeeeeeee's edit and made it known to them that I was sorry and didn't purposely do it. As for User:Qed237's reverting and another user stating that it 'lacked citation', all I've been doing is adding to the article and doing my very best to make sure that the information reads correctly. Meanwhile here you are issuing me warnings for absolutely no idea whatsover. Qed only reverted because there was no citation tag at the time, but as soon as I went to add the ref from Roma's website Qed237 had already reverted all three of my edits at once.

Fond greetings

@Eni.Sukthi.Durres: Happy to help! ;) Kő Cloch (talk) 14:56, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Struway2:, why did you remove the WP:PROD tag? You claimed that it was because I'd issued no reason, but I was referring to this old revision of the same page. Then again, I do see that AlanS (the user responsible for attaching the first WP:PROD also failed to provide a reason for the removal of the article from Wikipedia). Fair enough! :)

Player articles in desperate need of 2015–16 career statistics charts

On 22 August 2015, the player above scored a hat-trick for Bournemouth against West Ham in a 3–4 away win. However, the article about this player is missing a 2015–16 season for Bournemouth in the Premier League. Wilson now has three appearances and three goals in the Premier League.

My article

@Undead warrior:

Can I use the opening line from the Thames Ironworks F.C. article, obviously by putting St. Mary's Church Young Men's Association in place of Thames Ironworks F.C., and Southampton in place of West Ham? Just the template.

Thames Ironworks Football Club, the club that later became West Ham United, was founded by Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Co. Ltd owner Arnold Hills and foreman Dave Taylor in 1895.

The template would look something like this!

St. Mary's Young Men's Association Football Club, the club that later became Southampton, was founded by members of St. Mary's Church, Southampton in St Mary's, Southampton in 1885.

2015–16 Calcio Catania season

Hi,

I have moved your recently created article about the 2015–16 Calcio Catania season to User:Kő Cloch/2015–16 Calcio Catania season in order to develop it a bit more, for three reasons. First of all, the chances of survival of an unsourced one-liner "in the wild" are pretty scarce no matter whether notability guidelines like WP:NSEASONS are technically met or not. Then, WP:FOOTY has a bit of a minimum standard for club season articles; see also Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Club seasons. Finally, it seems as if Italian club season articles have only been created for Serie A clubs in the past, and not even for all teams for some of the past seasons. No idea if there is a reason for this, though, this should be checked with other users working in that field.

So, it would be cool if 2015–16 Calcio Catania season would at least fulfil the minimum standard before being moved back to mainspace (via a page move, not via copy&paste). This would ideally also include some prose on noteworthy events, as table-and-stats-only articles are not received well and might also get deleted on terms of WP:NOT#STATS. – Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 11:42, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Nikica Jelavić. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 21:43, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

St. Mary's Y.M.A. F.C. listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect St. Mary's Y.M.A. F.C.. Since you had some involvement with the St. Mary's Y.M.A. F.C. redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Cancelling out our own edits on the West Ham United article

@Egghead, I am tiring of this repeated reverting of our own revisions.

Full squad listed above - both Hendrie and Henry are in it.--Egghead06 (talk) 16:36, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I am not joking here, the link to the full squad you sent me opened with 'This page can’t be displayed', don't know why. Also we are both at risk of being temporarily blocked from editing and I don't believe you want this, lord knows I don't. The only reason I am reverting your edits is because of this (http://www.whufc.com/Teams/First-Team/Squad). --Kő Cloch (talk) 17:44, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I see Doneil Henry, but Stephen Hendrie has been named in the under-21 side in that link you sent me.--Kő Cloch (talk) 17:46, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@GiantSnowman

Well then, alright. There's just one thing I don't understand ... why did you wait so long before reverting? --Kő Cloch (talk) 14:05, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean the massive gap of 26 (!!!) minutes in between our edits? Facepalm Facepalm GiantSnowman 13:13, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Affirmative sir! --Kő Cloch (talk) 14:17, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The LA Galaxy, also known as the Los Angeles Galaxy, is an American professional soccer club, based in the Los Angeles suburb of Carson, California, that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), in the Western Conference of the league.

How is this any different to the Manchester United article? That plays, that competes. LA Galaxy are a soccer club and Man Utd are a professional football club.

Having lunch now!

Reporting?

Why would you report me for having a "disruptive username"? Are you just unhappy that I'm reverting your unnecessary edits? – PeeJay 15:45, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No that's not my reason, this is my reason - "so say "competes", but don't fuck about with the wording in a negative way". This was your response to one of my recents edits to the (Manchester United) article. --Kő Cloch (talk) 17:02, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Then why would you report me for having a disruptive username? That has nothing to do with my username, smart guy... – PeeJay 19:29, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I am aware of that, but Wikipedia provides a user with limited options ... there is no option that reads "report a user for inappropriate language", just vandalism and username violation filed complaints. In any case I explained what the real reason was, even if my written report had no relevance to the "disruptive username" quota. --Kő Cloch (talk) 16:11, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Michele Rocca (footballer)

The article Michele Rocca (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article concerns a young footballer who is registered with a club from a fully professional league but has not yet played senior football at any level, so fails the football-specific notability guideline. No evidence of his receiving enough significant independent coverage to pass the general notability guideline.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Struway2 (talk) 11:56, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I knew this was coming, but since I am the sole creator of the Michele Rocca (footballer) article could I be afforded a designated article creation space / area (i.e., Creating User:Kő Cloch/Michele Rocca (footballer)), so that I may continue to keep the article and if and when the player does make a competitive debut for Sampdoria I can resubmit the article into the mainspace at a later date. Would this be possible? Kő Cloch (talk) 13:16, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I only just saw this. I'd suggest moving it to a user subpage called User:Kő Cloch/Michele Rocca (footballer). Put something like "userfying article about non-notable subject" in your edit summary, and then whatever's left beind in mainspace can be speedily deleted. See WP:USERFY for details. Or I can do it for you, if you'd prefer. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:46, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry and yes thank you, I would be grateful if you will help me move the article on Michele Rocca. Kő Cloch (talk) 16:46, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved it to the suggested subpage title, and tagged the mainspace redirect for speedy deletion. Hopefully that'll work. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 22:08, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Transfermarkt

Since most of its content is user-generated, Transfermarkt is not a reliable source. Please do not cite the website in articles, as you did with Michele Rocca (footballer). Thank you. Sir Sputnik (talk) 17:22, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion all round!

Inter naming discussions What about Heart of Midlothian? Like Inter, they too identify using their full club name, albeit the unlikely usage of Football Club Internazionale Milano. I refuse to believe anyone that doesn't think to themselves ... wait hang on a minute, shouldn't the heading of an article list a shortened version of the club's full name. Of course Football Club Internazionale Milano takes on a more corporate image and that's why this will likely only be using in written documents. I can't understand one user that believes because it is the English Language Wikipedia that F.C. Internazionale should be simplified to'Inter Milan'. Frankly I don't see why we have to even do this as everyone on the planet is of mixed roots and origins - plenty of a British people will have links to the Anglo-Saxons, Americans etc. Besides Juventus is not an English word in any case, it is derived from Latin and translates as "youths", so why are they not named Youths F.C.? To whom ever said that it should be written in a certain way for the English Lang Wiki would be mistaken if they believe that English is not a foreign language - ahem English is a West Germanic language. --Kő Cloch (talk) 23:55, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Austria U16 national side

@GiantSnowman: I can't quite understand why you have reverted my edit to the original redirect that you authorised? I can see why some might believe the Sweden and Portugal article must become a redirect as the Swedish U16 side became defunct and was replaced by the U17 squad, but like the U16 England + France articles, among others the Austrian national under-16 team is still very much a part of their youth setup is it not? I didn't do it out of malice for the revert you initially placed there. --Kő Cloch (talk) 12:38, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
These kind of articles are not automatically notable, there is no indication on the Austria under-16 article (given that it is unreferenced and has no content beyond a list of non-notable children) as to its achievements and merits. Expand and improve the article, don't just restore what has previously been removed with good reason. GiantSnowman 11:40, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@GiantSnowman: Sorry, I should have instead indicated my intentions to help improve the article to you straightway, rather than revert and ask why you then reverted my restored revision. Hmm ... it's just the article is sort of easier to edit once it has been restored, otherwise all I have or anyone else for that matter is an empty article space and I suppose I was thinking along the lines of a makeshift article template, using the original article as a guideline. Again, my apologies! --Kő Cloch (talk) 12:51, 13 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

F.C. Internazionale Milano

Confused about the redirect from F.C. InternazionaleInter Milan ... can't F.C. Internazionale be merged with Inter Milan, because the redirect from the shorthand version is officially part of the name and it is how they are usually identified in Italy and across the world. --Kő Cloch (talk) 18:17, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Michele Rocca (footballer)

Hello Kő Cloch. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Michele Rocca (footballer), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: I couldn't find an AFD discussion for the article. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 19:13, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I created the original article Michele Rocca (footballer) on 21 September 2015 - see linked section (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:K%C5%91_Cloch/Michele_Rocca_(footballer)&oldid=682153034) and due to the article failing the Wikipedia:Notability (people) as the player had not played a match at senior level. As a result, the next day Struway2 tagged the article with WP:Notability and contacted me to explain that the article was to be deleted within a week. I queried Struway on whether there was a way I could continue to work on the article but without it being prone to deletion. Struway replied with this - see link to whole discussion on my talk page (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:K%C5%91_Cloch&action=edit&section=19) I accepted Struway's help in moving the article to my user space, allowing for its deletion in the main space. On 29 September, the page Michele Rocca (footballer) was deleted and I have been since managing it under "User:Kő Cloch/Michele Rocca (footballer)". Now on 14 October, I discover that Eden10Hazard has recreated the article using the remnants of my original and tried to pass it off as theirs, neglecting my draft which I am about to reinstate after the player played his first senior league game for the club! The only sentence that was not written by myself, was "He made his Serie A debut at 28 September 2015 against Atalanta B.C.". --Kő Cloch (talk) 23:27, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Xherdan Shaqiri, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Do not remove the pp-pc tags when article is currently protected. Qed237 (talk) 19:44, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The punctuation was constructive (commas) and this could be worded better - "On 10 July 2012 Shaqiri made his debut in a friendly match against the German club SpVgg Unterhaching, which Bayern won 1–0 thanks to a goal by teammate David Alaba." --Kő Cloch (talk) 23:38, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As I said, why did you remove the protection tag from a protected article? Qed237 (talk) 22:41, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What are you talking about Qed237? I am Kő Cloch the creator of the Michele Rocca (footballer) article and I've already explained the situation to you. Please can I ask that you refrain from posting nonsensical warnings on my talk page as you have clearly not checked not examined this at all - so once again here is the link to my draft User:Kő Cloch/Michele Rocca (footballer). --Kő Cloch (talk) 16:31, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have to say you really amaze me! (Not a valid reason for prod) - yes it is absolutely a valid reason ... PLAGIARISM / WP:PLAGIARISM, Eden10Hazard used my original article's contents to create a new article, that is STEALING!! --Kő Cloch (talk) 16:36, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

First of all the warnings are completely correct, I have already explained the warning for Xherdan_Shaqiri and your removal of protection tag while article was still protected. Regarding the Michele Rocca (footballer) you can not have both PROD and AfD, and when a PROD has been contested you should not add it again, it is only for when there is no other editor opposing. Now the article is at AfD for proper discussion, and this is where it should be. Regarding your reason about WP:PLAGIARISM, I can understand you and it is not fun (and User:Eden10Hazard should not have done it). However, I can see some things that makes it a little bit easier to understand why Eden10Hazard created the article, because it has been notable since 28 September, and you have had more than two weeks to create it yourself, but since you had not done it we cant go around and wait for you so he did it. Also the infobox and lead is standard, so the only thing that was really copied is the section "Club Career", the other parts would have looked the same if I had created it from scratch on my own.
What User:Eden10Hazard could have done is to give you a message "Hi, I think your article about Michele Rocca (footballer) is now notable since he played on 28 September, if you want to create it". If he had not gotten any response, he then could have created it, and given you credit in edit summary. At least that is what I should have done. Qed237 (talk) 16:25, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Mathieu Flamini. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Mathieu Flamini shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. Paulo Gazzaniga and alleged Italian descent

Just because he has a name which is the same as the name of a town in Italy doesn't mean he is of Italian descent. In response to your comment about disruptive editing. No sir I would not misconstrue my edits to be as you put it "disruptive editing" as I've not done anything to tarnish the article's reputation. Instead of reverting harmless edits, why not revert to punishing renegade editors (vandalism only accounts). I may not have been a registered Wiki user for long but I have contributed a lot to the association football side of this online encyclopedia. I believe in order to move forward, Wikipedia must put new measures in place to help combat vandalism and as the Time magazine article stated above the current issues with out-of-date articles they have otherwise been left to rot. Unless you really do plan to overturn every edit on any article that relates to Internazionale then I don't see how we are to move past this issue. João Miranda plays for Internazionale, Geoffrey Kondogbia plays for Internazionale etc. I simply cannot understand why the Shaqiri article means that much to you. I would expect you to make better choices before reverting edits that do not even impact on the article negatively, after all you are a Pending Changes Reviewer - it's not as though I am changing his place of birth from Yugoslavia to Kosovo or whatever the territory is known as now. Might I just add that I wouldn't dream of editing his birthplace because when he was born his country was ruled by the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and if he had been born afterwards (in present times) Shaqiri would be Kosovan-born so I am fully aware about the issue of users trying to change his nation of birth. --Kő Cloch (talk) 21:11, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@PeeJay: My apologies for the persistent edits I have made to the Manchester United article recently. Unfortunately sometimes stubborness takes over and I was adamant that "who" was the appropriate terminology for use in an association football club article, when in fact I was wrong about this. I believe I felt that "that plays in " wasn't appropriate but sadly I could not really find an alternative to "who" and that is why I behaved in the way that I did. My apologies also for reporting you over swearing in an edit summary. --Kő Cloch (talk) 12:40, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Struway2: It's BBC Sport mate − to date the only mistake I've seen them make is that the accidentally stated that Dybala had joined Man City from Palermo instead of Juventus − besides how is this gossip it is from the BBC. Also Newcastle have mentioned this on Twitter ... and I'm not saying that a social network is now a completely reliable source but if the BBC have already reported this then it is highly likely that it will be true. Anyway, the source stated that "Newcastle had signed Doumbia, subject to a medical". Now I understand that the player could fail the medical which would see the deal fall through, however I did give reference to this and that is why I hid Newcastle from view instead of just publicly declaring it on here. It is hardly gossip. --Kő Cloch (talk) 13:15, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I didn't see this until now... The ping thingy doesn't work unless it's added at the same time as the signature at the end of the post it's included in.
The main point is that we're not a news service. Obviously a player signing for a club is a news item, but what we don't (or shouldn't) do is to report the ongoing progress of a transfer: the policy What Wikipedia is not, specifically the section Wikipedia is not a newspaper, reminds us that we're not a breaking-news service. As to sourcing the completion of a transfer, project consensus was pretty clearly demonstrated (and the reason for it accepted by those outside the project) at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 58#Official club websites as sources, such that the only reliable source for the completion of a transfer is the club concerned. The BBC are no different from Sky/ESPN/any other reputable media when it comes to breaking news; their remit is to keep readers informed of how a news story is progressing.
Whoever designed the {{current sports transaction}} template got it right with the display wording "Information regarding the transaction may be based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. Initial news reports may be unreliable", and the usage guideline that "unofficial reports from reliable sources, if mentioned, must be attributed to the news source".
Must say I didn't see any mention on NUFC's Twitter before their official announcement that the deal was done subject to work visa. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:14, 1 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That is standard wording for one people who were born in one country but played for another. Please follow WP:BRD (you were bold, I reverted, now discuss). If you disagree then raise it at WT:FOOTY as that is where the consensus comes from. GiantSnowman 18:30, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article talk page guidelines

Hello. You may want to have a look at Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. The How to use section tells us that's it's standard practice to use the article talk page to explain the reasons for our edits when reverting another editor or if the edit has been queried. What's different between our own user talk page and other talk pages, is that we're allowed to remove other people's posts from our user talk once we've read them, so long as we don't refactor the post or the discussion in so doing, but we aren't supposed to remove other people's posts from any other talk page other than in very specific circumstances. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:22, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Toni Martínez

The article Toni Martínez has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NFOOTY. No appearances in fully pro league. A youth team player with only routine coverage.

Egghead06 (talk) 12:13, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Toni Martínez for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Toni Martínez is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Toni Martínez until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Egghead06 (talk) 14:36, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Southampton FC current squad

Southampton FC Squad

Furthermore to our discussion, I thought I'd explain a few details:

- Since the start of the season, Stephens, Turnbull & Isgrove were considered first team players. I have provided a link to show Stephens & Isgrove included on 29 July 2015. It must be noted that Turnbull had just departed on loan to Swindon for the season, which explains his absence. The official website has a record of taking players that have left on loan out of the first team squad listing. - Also, Dominic Gape has recently become "over-aged" for U21 football. He was included in the U21's for this season however has been promoted onto the OS first team. He has had the number 46 shirt this season just gone so it makes sense to keep that squad number for him until official squad numbers are confirmed for the new season to come.

Please contact me if you need anymore help. Cheers 86.186.16.224 (talk) 00:33, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Juan Mata was 23 when he played in a tournament for the Spanish U21 team. He was eligible to play for the U21 squad due to his inclusion in qualifying games leading up to the tournament he took part in. I do not understand why do you consider Dominic Gape to be "over-aged". Both Stephens, Turnbull and Gape are still eligible except for Lloyd Isgrove. Hi there KC, from Portugal,

Not trying to be disrespectful or anything, but is there anything more technical you can show me other than a pet peeve list on your userpage to show me why we can't mention countries immediately after the leagues? In my opinion, it serves as additional info the unsuspecting reader that, as such, does not to click the competition link to find in which country it takes place anymore.

However, reading Mr. Stuani's display better, in his case it is indeed not needed, as the section is aptly called "Spain". Also, please do notice I have not touched anything in article anymore after you reverted, out of respect for you.

Happy editing, best wishes --Be Quiet AL (talk) 00:02, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Graphic imagery on Wikipedia

@Jimbo Wales: - Do you think it is right that Facebook users have to see this appalling imagery on Facebook ... all because many people have shown an interest in this subject (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Anal-bleaching/233420636837398?fref=ts)

I have reported this image to Facebook on multiple occasions and they always have this to say "We removed the Page that you reported"

"We've reviewed the Page you reported for displaying nudity. As it violated our Community Standards, we’ve removed it. Thanks for your report. We’ve let Anal bleaching know that their Page has been removed, but not who reported it."

So if this is generally the case, why is it that the page and the image still shows up in my searches even though that image was apparently removed. This is the fault of Wikipedia for displaying such graphic images. Please help sir.

Pre-season player debuts

@GiantSnowman: - I understand that you twice reverted my edits to the Ashley Fletcher article (when I added West Ham's 2–0 pre-season defeat away to Chelmsford City), but what of Henrikh Mkhitaryan → (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Henrikh_Mkhitaryan&action=edit&section=13&editintro=Template:BLP_editintro)? Why exactly did you remove the information, was this because it was with their development squad and not with WHU's first team? --Kő Cloch (talk) 9:43, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

Why did you block me?

@Adalingio=TestaDiCazzo:

What do you mean, look I have already said I am Britalian! This is my article, except I was copying and pasting my own words over to the Italian article I created yesterday. Here is the original, which was initially removed as it failed the article guidlines (at the time Rocca had not made a single senior appearance for Sampdoria in Serie A, and so they on the en.wikipedia.org were right to request deletion of the article ... however with the help of another user we made it clear to the deletionists that the article would continue to exist and that it would be moved to my user area) → [2] Somebody then created a Dutch version → [3] and a German version [4]. First of all, I would very much like to know why the Dutch and German articles exist but the Italian article is not allowed to be published. Regardless of which ever language wiki this concerns, shouldn't a player with an official Serie A appearance warrant an article? Shame on you sir for not attempting to reason with me, no you go straight for the 1 week block ... totally unfair I was in the midst of answering your question, which to be honest seemed pointless and had no actual meaning? --Kő Cloch Discussioni utente:Kő Cloch 14:24, 31 lug 2016 (CEST)

This is not the right way to go about creating articles → Fbgpwns5277 this user has created 13 articles in just 4 days of being on Wikipedia ... articles take to time to edit and perfect, which is why I am always looking to amend my grammar and punctuation. This is lazy work.

Proposed deletions

I suggest you read and try to understand the section Wikipedia:Deletion policy#Reasons for deletion before PRODding anything else. I'd also advise you to remove the section currently immediately above this one that criticises a new editor for doing exactly what they're supposed to do: trying to improve Wikipedia. Constructive new editors are always welcome. Thank you for listening. Struway2 (talk) 09:51, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you've read anything I've posted on here, take for instance this article
Why Wikipedia Is in Trouble - this is evident with the Sampdoria article as recently I've been carrying out most of the edits to the current squad - and yet administrators soon block you for absolutely ridiculous reasons it's abuse of power. These guys should stop blocking users and devote more time to proofreading articles and making edits where necessary. Never mind that let's concentrate on the 13 articles this editor created in the space of 4 days (THEIR FIRST FOUR DAYS ON WIKIPEDIA) - writing articles takes time and devotion and should not be rushed because when work is rushed it can lead to inaccuracies and poorly written encyclopedia articles.
Some people pick up how to contribute positively to Wikipedia rather quicker than others. And you do realise that if everyone waited until the article they were writing was absolutely perfect, there wouldn't be any articles on here at all? Everyone has a different approach, but we are all expected to behave in a collegial manner. I do strongly advise restricting your talk page use to its proper function, which is to reply to messages left for you. It isn't a webhost for your personal views. Thank you for listening. Hello Kő Cloch. Please don't move articles into userspace like you did with Lucas Torreira. This is only done in exceptional circumstances, such as when an article is about to be deleted and the user wants more time to work on it. Torreira also clearly passes WP:NFOOTY as he made 29 appearances in Serie B last season (I note your comment that the Pescara appearances are unsourced, but if you had looked at the first reference provided (Soccerway) his appearances are easy to see.

My article

@Undead warrior:

How is this any different to the Manchester United article? That plays, that competes. LA Galaxy are a soccer club and Man Utd are a professional football club.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Ashley Cole. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article.

He is heading for an indef block (has been warned by other users) and did this removal while logged out. Qed237 (talk) 13:20, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks for clearing that up ... oh and sorry for having bothering you. --Kő Cloch (talk) 13:26, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Diamé‎

Also displayed in the bottom right-hand corner is the following message:

@Adalingio=TestaDiCazzo:

What do you mean, look I have already said I am Britalian! This is my article, except I was copying and pasting my own words over to the Italian article I created yesterday. Here is the original, which was initially removed as it failed the article guidlines (at the time Rocca had not made a single senior appearance for Sampdoria in Serie A, and so they on the en.wikipedia.org were right to request deletion of the article ... however with the help of another user we made it clear to the deletionists that the article would continue to exist and that it would be moved to my user area) → [6] Somebody then created a Dutch version → [7] and a German version [8].

My article

@Undead warrior:

@GiantSnowman

Davefelmer who is a well known editor that supports Manchester United adding honours to their article, editing Alex Ferguson to say he is the greatest of all time, and also removes content and honours from other clubs.

Can you explain your reasons for reverting my edits earlier? This edit in particular re-introduced complete nonsense. Can I suggest that you learn to control your knee and stop it jerking. 92.26.161.184 (talk) 13:45, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also displayed in the bottom right-hand corner is the following message:

@Adalingio=TestaDiCazzo:

What do you mean, look I have already said I am Britalian! This is my article, except I was copying and pasting my own words over to the Italian article I created yesterday. Here is the original, which was initially removed as it failed the article guidlines (at the time Rocca had not made a single senior appearance for Sampdoria in Serie A, and so they on the en.wikipedia.org were right to request deletion of the article ... however with the help of another user we made it clear to the deletionists that the article would continue to exist and that it would be moved to my user area) → [10] Somebody then created a Dutch version → [11] and a German version [12].

Lucas Torreira

My article

@Undead warrior:

Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. JMHamo (talk) 00:54, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Paulo Gazzaniga and alleged Italian descent

Just because he has a name which is the same as the name of a town in Italy doesn't mean he is of Italian descent. Unless you can provide a reliable source that specifically states that he is of Italian descent, please don't add the category. Thanks, ChrisTheDude (talk) 20:13, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I restored content that had been removed by IP 136.167.9.178 a.k.a. Davefelmer who is a well known editor that supports Manchester United adding honours to their article, editing Alex Ferguson to say he is the greatest of all time, and also removes content and honours from other clubs. He is heading for an indef block (has been warned by other users) and did this removal while logged out. Qed237 (talk) 13:20, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also displayed in the bottom right-hand corner is the following message:

Pre-season player debuts

@GiantSnowman: - I understand that you twice reverted my edits to the Ashley Fletcher article (when I added West Ham's 2–0 pre-season defeat away to Chelmsford City), but what of Henrikh Mkhitaryan → (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Henrikh_Mkhitaryan&action=edit&section=13&editintro=Template:BLP_editintro)? Why did you block me?

@Adalingio=TestaDiCazzo:

What do you mean, look I have already said I am Britalian! This is my article, except I was copying and pasting my own words over to the Italian article I created yesterday. Here is the original, which was initially removed as it failed the article guidlines (at the time Rocca had not made a single senior appearance for Sampdoria in Serie A, and so they on the en.wikipedia.org were right to request deletion of the article ... however with the help of another user we made it clear to the deletionists that the article would continue to exist and that it would be moved to my user area) → [14] Somebody then created a Dutch version → [15] and a German version [16].

Hi.[18] and [19] are both evidence of the consensus to write this article in British English, given they're a British football club. If you are determined to rewrite it in American English (in direct contradiction of WP:ENGVAR), you should first gain consensus on the article talk page. - Chrism would like to hear from you 12:11, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is becoming ridiculous now, I don't think having consensuses are the right way to go about business on Wikipedia ... a consensus usually means and this is the case for the silly debate about the style of language used in the lead section of the Everton F.C. article. Look I'm always trying to do my best to not only correct others' grammar but also my own, but to be honest what's the point in debating about whether are or is should be used in an association football article's lead section. How can there be a consensus for an individual article, that isn't carried over to next several hundred thousand that open with is an English or is an association football club. Also if we are to examine the the BrE vs AmE - we will see that for example; the New York City article opens with are an American soccer club rather than is an American soccer club. --Kő Cloch (talk) 14:00, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ko Cloch, I came here to warn you not to get involved in an edit war, especially over something so trivial, whether you are right or wrong. I will also however point out though that the links noted above do not in anyway count as "consensus", especially given that most of the talking done in them is by Chrism some seven years ago. Furthermore, ENGVAR is not a binary guideline. MOS:PLURALS is deliberately vague. Regarding names for things like teams, it says: are sometimes treated as singular, but more often treated as plural. This does not mean they are treated as plural. A quick look at Premier league teams indicates the consensus is to use "is", though this is by no means universal across all english clubs. As I have asked Chris, if this really needs to be changed to "are" a decision should be taken with wider input and applied to all English football teams, not through an edit war (and good luck with gaining consensus to push that minor change through hundreds of articles!). Thanks. Fenix down (talk) 13:07, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"I don't think having consensuses are the right way to go about business on Wikipedia" - Alas, WP:CONSENSUS is one of our primary policies and is how decisions made on Wikipedia are made. If you have a problem with that, you should probably consider whether a collegial encyclopedia is the best project to involve yourself in. Re: The New York City article, while is sounds odd to me, I accept it should be used in that article as that's the common usage in American English. - Chrism would like to hear from you 13:46, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just discovered some potentially valuable information on this website and even more so from this comment by Tommy McKay who claims that "Mackay" comes from the highlands, and "McKay" comes from the Lowlands of Scotland. If this is true then it could mean that McKay is the correct spelling for the above player, if not then Mckay should stay quite simply!

Spector/grammar

Hello. Firstly, I'm sorry about the "normal English" thing in the edit summary. I could and should have put that better.

The point is that we're describing the club that Mr Spector plays for. It's English, and it's currently a member of the Championship. "Plays for English club Birmingham City of the Championship and for the US national team" means what we want it to mean, but reads quite awkwardly. Standard usage is to put both adjectives before the noun: an English Championship club. The adjectives are still grammatically independent: it's an English club and it's a Championship club.

The sentence can't be structured "plays for English club Birmingham City in the Championship", because that moves the Championship from an adjective describing the club – which is what we mean – to a second adverbial phrase modifying Mr Spector's playing. He actually plays for Birmingham City in whatever competition they tell him to play in. Similarly, "plays in England for Championship club Birmingham": he plays wherever they tell him to play, including Cardiff away.

Anyway, I'm going to restore the other version. It's concise, while still including enough detail to inform the general reader, and it does mean what's intended. But if you can think of a clearer structure that isn't long-winded and still retains the meaning, please suggest it.

And thanks for doing this. I could have sworn I'd done it myself... cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:18, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Transfermarkt again

Since most its content is user-generated, Transfermarkt is not a reliable source. Please do not cite the website in articles, as you did with ACF Fiorentina Primavera. Thank you. Sir Sputnik (talk) 17:42, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, please see the following discussion as to why it is not a reliable source. I also draw your attention to this comment: Dieser Content wird vor Platzierung auf den oder einer der Websites nicht von Transfermarkt geprüft und stellt nicht die Meinung von Transfermarkt dar], which confirms that the site does not perform any checking of supplied content. Fenix down (talk) 17:54, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, while I do appreciate your concern and understand your feelings towards Transfermarkt, sometimes drastic times, call for drastic measures! It is very difficult to document information on youth teams and while like Wiki it may not be 100% reliable it certainly does provide some insight into the transfer dealings, appearances, stats etc. of Fiorentina's Primavera side. At first I thought I tried Soccerway but they actually have less information on Fiorentina Primavera than Transfermarkt. Kő Cloch (talk) 17:58, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't mean that you use unreliable sources though. It is not surprising that a website that openly admits to not doing any fact checking contains more information that one that does not make this statement because anyone can add information. Please do not cite this source again. If you cannot find reliable sourcing for content, you simply should not add it at all. Fenix down (talk) 18:04, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Harry Lewis (goalkeeper)

Shawn in Montreal

Yesterday during the hours of 3 & 4pm, I created an article titled Harry Lewis (footballer, born 1997). When I checked some time later I found that a speedy deletion tag had been placed on my article, because I save it in a rush. I was not given a chance to contest the deletion and the article vanish and somehow there appear to be no records of it? Harriesss then made a second article that should not have been accepted until my article had been deleted after first allowing me to contest its deletion. Also the user in question doesn't actually exist.

This is what I did

Edit summary

Please may you explain this edit summary? GiantSnowman 17:58, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Danieletorino2:
  • Okay, here is an excerpt from the page Midfielder;

"In modern football, the terms winger or wide player refer to a non-defender who plays on the left or right sides of the pitch. These terms can apply to left or right midfielders, left or right attacking midfielders, or left or right forwards. Left or right-sided defenders such as wing-backs or full-backs are generally not called wingers".

  • Now here's another excerpt from the page Forward;

"A winger is an attacking player who is stationed in a wide position near the touchlines. They can be classified as forwards, considering their origin as the old "outside-forward" position, and continue to be termed as such in most parts of the world, especially in Latin and Dutch footballing cultures. However, in the British game (in which the 4–4–2 formation and its variants are most commonly used) they are usually counted as part of the midfield. First of all my apologies for assuming that a winger cannot be considered both a forward and midfielder. "However, in the British game (in which the 4–4–2 formation and its variants are most commonly used) they are usually counted as part of the midfield".

Hi Kő,

The policy in the Manual of Style, which I cited in my edit, is:

"The opening paragraph should usually provide context. In most modern-day cases this will mean the country of which the person is a citizen, national or permanent resident, or if the person is notable mainly for past events, the country where the person was a citizen, national or permanent resident when the person became notable.
Ethnicity, religion, or sexuality should generally not be in the lead unless it is relevant to the subject's notability. Similarly, previous nationalities or the country of birth should not be mentioned in the lead unless they are relevant to the subject's notability." - MOS:BIO#Context

The Wikipedia policy above says that the subject's current nationality should be in the opening paragraph, but his country of birth should generally not be.

I have provided a citation for Allam's British citizenship. If you have a reliable source stating that he still holds Egyptian citizenship, please do add that to the article. If not, please leave the sourced information in place (or go to Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Biographies and argue for a change in Wikipedia policy).

(Also, your edits do not seem to be minor edits - please don't tag them as such.) TSP (talk) 10:38, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free image use

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically F.C. Internazionale Milano Primavera, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:42, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kő Cloch. The use of non-free images is not automatic on Wikipedia and each use is required to satisfy all 10 of the non-free content criteria listed at WP:NFCCP. The fact that File:Inter Milan.png is being used in Inter Milan does not automatically mean it is OK to use in other articles (see WP:OTHERIMAGE). What you need to do is to provide a specific separate non-free use rationale (as required by WP:NFCC#10c) which justifies the file's non-free use in F.C. Internazionale Milano Primavera. The rationale should clearly explain how the file's non-free use in the article satisfies all 10 of the aforementioned non-free content criteria. The problem you are going to have is that the Primavera team is likely going to be considered a "child entity" of the parent Milan club, and using the logos of parent entities in other related article is generally not considered OK per WP:NFC#UII17. I'm not saying it's impossible, but you're going to have to provide a strong justification for non-free use. Finally, trying to argue WP:DELETEALL is not really helpful when it comes to non-free use. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:51, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bursledon Brickworks Museum COI

You mentioned in this edit sum that you are a volunteer at the museum. If that's the case, then you may have a conflcit of interest (COI) regarding the museum when it comes to Wikipedia. You don't need to be financially compenstated to have a COI and even the apparent existence of a COI can create problems with other editors. Although COI editing is not something which Wikipedia expressly prohibits, it is something which is highly discouraged because it often leads to more serious policy/guideline related problems. So if you are connected to the museum in any way (even if you're only a volunteer), then I think it might be a good idea for you to take a look at Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide for future reference. Knowing the kinds of edits that Wikipedia community considers acceptable for COI editors to make will help avoid any misunderstandings or problems with other editors. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:10, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Norwich U23

Hi, what would your thoughts be on renaming this article to Norwich City Under-23s and Academy or similar? That would give a wider range for the content so could include U18 squad, their current competitions, historical youth wins and also a list of Norwich youth graduates. Just to be clear, I'm not demanding that you add that additional information, if you would like to please go ahead but I have been collecting a bit anyway to improve the article since it got flagged for notability (at that point it had almost nothing in it, thank you for adding to it, did you forget you ever started the Norwich one? I noticed it wasn't on your list of creations, but I see your other reserves articles are good quality so you wouldn't normally create a page with basically just an infobox and a link then leave it!). I think slightly changing the article so it relates to the whole youth system would give it a better chance of surviving the notability review. Anyway, best regards. Proposed deletion of 2017 Southampton Cup

The article 2017 Southampton Cup has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Season article for a not-yet-happened youth football tournament. No independent notability, and fails WP:NSEASONS.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Sterling

Hi Ko Cloch. I have neither the time nor inclination to debate this with you at length. I will just say a person's place of birth isn't necessarily what determines his nationality/citizenship, either at birth or later in life, and that citizenship at birth isn't solely based on where one is born (in fact, for many—most?—countries it has very little, if anything, to do with the location and more to do with the parents' citizenships). I find your assertion that "Sterling is not English", based on his being born abroad, dubious and, to be frank, actually borderline offensive. This isn't an "obsession", this is taking note that WP:OPENPARA says to open biographies with the nationality the person became notable as, paying no regard to country of birth. But it appears WP:FOOTBALL has created a de facto exemption to that which I won't burden myself with challenging, it isn't worth the time or effort. The solution of no nationality indicator in the first line is preferable to the awful "X-born Y" construction we used to see all over Wikipedia. So thanks. Due to recent updates you have made, please see the discussion hatnote regarding these articles. There should be really only be one article for all sub-departments of each club. This has been agreed to in principle at WP:FOOTY. In the spirit of fairness, ideally the existing Academy article should be the one to stay as it is older, although the U23 article follows the display format better. Hi there KC, from Portugal,

back in the day, someone brought forth the suggestion that we should not write leagues in intros because of the constant promotions and relegation. Not that it was embraced by 100% of the editors (have never seen consensus regarding anything in 11 years, and never will I fear), but it was widely accepted and it made complete sense to me.

Now, I see that many have (re)taken to writing leagues again in intro. A bit confusing to say the least, but I apologize for any inconvenience. Attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 12:58, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Presidente

Presidente of a company and organization actually means chairman. Despite primary source, Juventus called the head of the BoD, Agnelli as chairman. Matthew_hk tc 00:50, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And look for source, the sun use chairman, ANSA the Italian news agency use chairman, UEFA use chairman. Yes there is some source use president, but compare to English football terminology. Such as Chelsea, the president (or honorary president) position is below the chairman position. But Italian: Presidente is the head of the board, so chairman should be used. Matthew_hk tc 00:54, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The Sun is not a reliable source for Wikipedia and in any case nobody calls Agnelli or anyone else for that matter the chairman. They're only using the term 'chairman' to convey information across to the British public.
Why are your English language skills so bad? I assume the 'hk' in your name represents Hong Kong. Also, for some reason you seem to prefer American English over British English...now given that Hong Kong was a British territory for a long time, I would expect your English linguistic skills to be much more advanced than they actually are. Kő Cloch (talk) 16:20, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Kő Cloch (talk) 00:55, 22 December 2017 (UTC) Kő Cloch (talk) 00:55, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your block log shows that you got a five-day block for using multiple accounts that was enacted about ten minutes after your last block expired. A series of anon editors attacked me over Inter Milan issues. I thought it might have been you and reported the behaviour. That page is linked in your block log. Administrators investigated and one applied a block. I'm not sure if that means you were the anon, if it simply passed the WP:DUCK test, or if enough uncivil behaviour was uncovered to merit the block, but the reason Vanjagenije supplied was, "abusing multiple accounts". To be clear, I didn't cause this to happen, I simply voiced my concerns. Vanjagenije didn't make this happen, the admin simply enacted policy to apply community standards.
If you have evidence that you are not associated with the anonymous editors, you should supply that with an unblock request. I'm surprised the template wasn't supplied here along with the block so I'll provide that here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
PS: the reason I wasn't blocked along with you for the disruptive editing—your first block—was that it was for edits like this not the insisting on using endonyms for Inter Milan.
PPS: I seem to recall that your repeatedly deleted all messages I left for you here, and a suggestion that I shouldn't comment here. I interpreted linking me as permission to comment. I'm sorry it took so long for me to investigate the issues and comment. I'm not an admin here, just an editor, not unlike you. Administrators have access to information that I don't so I'm sorry if I can't provide further details as well. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:42, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We use the WP:COMMONNAME. This has been discussed at multiple move discussions for the article itself. Bayern Munich is often called by the German name in media, but we don't pipe to that. There are other clubs where the endonym is used occasionally by media, but yet we use the exonym to avoid problems like need for italicization of foreign names. You've made an edit, you were reverted. Do not revert again - take to the talk page per WP:BRD. For what it's worth, we only remove nationality for people who were born & raised in one country and then played for another - so, for example, Mo Diame or Riyad Mahrez. If they had never been capped by the country of their parents they would still be French, but given their international allegiance it's wrong to describe them as such in the lede. Sterling is different - he moved to England as a small child, but if he never played for them he would still be English. Do you see the difference? GiantSnowman 08:11, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
