  • Participants: No Wikipedia editing experience necessary; as needed throughout the event, tutoring will be provided for Wikipedia newcomers. People of all gender identities and expressions welcomed and encouraged to attend.

  • 11:15am Introduction to editing Wikipedia

What should we work on?

  • If you have 1 hour or less, work with a Wikipedian and learn more about editing Wikipedia.
  • If you have 90 minutes, go to a training and add some citations to an article in your area of interest.
  • If you have 2 hours, go to a training and add a well cited paragraph to an article in your area of interest.
  • If you have 2-4 hours, consider creating a new article. Be sure to gather your reliable sources and check in with an experienced Wikipedian to ensure that your article meets Wikipedia’s notability guidelines.

The edit-a-thon is about women, therefore articles related to women and gender shall be created/improved. Participants are free to choose topic they want to contribute. Please feel free to write a new article or improve any existing articles. Be bold, don't get afraid. Even if you deleted important part of an existing article, that can be easily reverted. Community members and admins will do that work for you

  • Write about biographical articles on most influential or inspiring women of the world.
  • Burning issues related to women and their development.
