This is a list of Wikipedians who are no longer an integral part of our community.

Purpose of this list

The purpose of this list is to provide a reminder to us of those who have left and their reasons for doing so.

Please do not add people to this list who were never an integral part of the community. Don't add users with less than about 1,000 edits. Do not add people unless you are certain they have left, do not add anonymous users identified by their IP address (they could have created an account and still be contributing) and do not add yourself.

• People who leave a goodbye message on their talk page or elsewhere, and then actually refrain from editing for at least two weeks are likely to have left permanently and may be added to the list.
• Wait about a month before listing someone who has simply ceased editing, unless you have some other reason for being certain that they have left.
• In most cases, editors who have gradually adopted a pattern of occasional editing interspersed with long breaks should not be listed merely because they are on one of their long breaks.
• Editors who return are no longer "missing" and can be removed from the list.
• Missing Wikipedians should be added to this list by people who knew them well rather than by strangers.
• If you add your own user name to the list as one of your final edits, your addition might be reverted since it is theoretically impossible for a "missing" Wikipedian to make an edit. You are welcome to add your own name to the stress alerts page, but be warned that the community will accordingly try to encourage you to stay.
• Wikipedians who no longer edit due to confirmed death should instead be added to Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians.

• 0 (talk · contribs · count) - Originally active in 2002, he returned briefly on February 17, 2004. Recently, he has made a couple edits beginning on February 27, 2007 and the latest being February 28.

• Abigail-II (talk · contribs · count) - Left June 12, 2004. Blanked talk page and left message on Village Pump, explaining that too many people were deleting material without discussion on talk pages. "I've no interest in working on a system where people break down your work without discussing it on appropriate page."
• Abu badali (talk · contribs · count) - left September 11, 2007, due to disappointment "how things are going with non-free content usage."[1]
• Adamsan (talk · contribs · count). Blanked user page on May 1, 2006.
• ALoan (talk · contribs · count) - Request for de-adminship and left a goodbye message on 30 July, 2007.
• Alren (talk · contribs · count) - One edit on February 23, 2007, but hadn't edited since May 31, 2006 before that.
• Alteripse (talk · contribs · count) - An administrator, last edit September 14, 2007.
• Amgine (talk · contribs · count) - Wikibreak on September 3, 2006 and requested userpage deleted on September 23 after the Board of Trustees election, but was active again through to December 2006.
• Anger22 (talk · contribs · count) - Hasn't returned since anouncing Wikibreak on February 14, 2007, Despite promises that he would be back in a week or so.
• ANNAfoxlover (talk · contribs · count) - Explained that she had been having problems with her laptop for the last few months. Last edit on August 30, 2007.
• Anonymous anonymous (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit September 6, 2006, left a goodbye message on her talkpage.

• Ars_Scriptor (talk · contribs · count) - Before name change: User:Aguerriero (talk · contribs · count) Requested that all his pages deleted by admin. Reason unclear. November, 2006.
• Ark30inf (talk · contribs · count) - Left on October 24, 2003 saying "I have found that if you are not here to do battle then nobody will listen to you. Thats not what I am about." He requested de-adminship and the deletion of his user page on 22 February 2004. Read his comments on Wikipedia here.
• Arundhati_bakshi (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit on March 15, 2007.
• AstroNomer (talk · contribs · count) - One of the earliest Wikipedian editors, and an administrator. Editing sporatically for a long time, last edit on August 24, 2007.
• AugPi (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit November 30, 2006.
• Avriette (talk · contribs · count) - made last edit on March 10, 2007. (See explanation for departure on his page.) As of May 2007, he can only be reached through e-mail.

• Badlydrawnjeff (talk · contribs · count) - following a lengthy arbitration case, Jeff announced his departure from Wikipedia, and subsequently, his user page was deleted on request. He has since exercised his right to vanish.

• Account was moved to Bdj (talk · contribs · count), last edit was July 8, 2007.

• Banes (talk · contribs · count) - On August 29, 2006 he left a retirement message on his userpage, saying he would be busy for the next few months, though he continued editing sporadically. Last edit November 17, 2006.
• Bagpuss (talk · contribs · count) - One of the oldest Wikipedians. First edit was January 5, 2003. Last edit was May 7, 2003. Came back once in 2005, and again in April 2006.
• Basara-kun (talk · contribs · count) - Left on 19/07/2007 after uploading 50+ unsourced images. "Enough. My contribuitions are ignored, my images are removed from the articles and in general, my editions aren't "encyclopedic"."
• Bcrowell (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit 13 March 2006. "Wikipedia was fun for a few years, but at this point I think it's entered a stage where it's just not fun anymore.... I've intentionally munged my password, so I can no longer log in." Apparently reappeared briefly as Bcrowell2 (talk · contribs · count).
• Benc (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit 23 December 2004.
• Ben (talk · contribs · count) - Highly experienced with templates, improving several of them. Last edit was on May 18, 2007.
• Bhouston (talk · contribs · count), later Deodar (talk · contribs · count) - last edit November 13, 2006.
• Big Adamsky (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit April 27, 2006.
• BlankVerse (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit April 5, 2007
• Bluemoose (talk · contribs · count) (aka Martin) - Left a departure message on December 1, 2006. Has not edited since.

• BoojiBoy (talk · contribs · count) - Almost 9000 edits, stopped prolific editing in August 2006, then returned in May of 2007 before retiring for good on June 11, 2007. Left a message on his talk page, "I gave it another chance, nothing has changed here and it's not worth my time. I won't be back this time."
• Bookofjude (talk · contribs · count) - An administrator. Previously missing from the project for about six months, returned for about a week. Last edit February 28, 2007.
• Bornintheguz (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit October 3, 2005. A very prolific contributor to articles about soccer.
• BostonMA (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit July 17, 2007, a month after a failed RfA. 6000+ edits. No reason given.
• Brat32 (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit August 24, 2006; blanked their userpage and replaced it with the message "I'm gone."
• Britney Spears (talk · contribs · count), stopped editing in July 2005, made two edits in January 2006.
• Brossow (talk · contribs · count) Posted WikiBreak message on user and user talk pages on June 6, 2006, and has been editing sporadically since. Last edit August 15, 2007.
• BuickCenturyDriver (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit July 9, 2007, returning from a hiatus to support an RfA.

C

• Cantus (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit April 23, 2006. Had over 21000 edits until being blocked for a month on that date due to violating a previous ArbCom decision.
• Captain Zyrain (talk · contribs · count) - Resigned his commission.
• Carbonite (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit February 11, 2006, user page says they've "lost interest in editing here" due to unimportant arguements.
• Catamorphism (talk · contribs · count) - Taking an indefinite break from Wikipedia, according to user's userpage.
• Chacor (talk · contribs · count) - A former admin, originally User:NSLE, then User:Chacor. Originally taking a long wikibreak, left a retirement message September 20, 2007. Made well over 10,000 edits on the English Wikipedia as Chacor alone.
• CharlotteWebb (talk · contribs · count) - During her RFA, Jayjg revealed that she edited using Tor. This revelation and her reaction led to the failure of her RFA. She left after another checkuser blocked all her IPs. Last edit 1 August 2007. See Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/CharlotteWebb. She responded to a comment on her talk page on October 1 2007.
• ChrisGriswold (talk · contribs · count) - Former administrator. Last edit on August 27, 2007.
• Chronographos (talk · contribs · count) - Missing since October 14, 2005. Made one edit to his user page September 6.
• Coelacan (talk · contribs · count) - administrator, last edit June 10, 2007, no warning of departure. Contact attempts by adoptee has been unsuccessful.
• Colin Kimbrell (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit May 5, 2006. Left over concerns about the Wikipedia:Reward board, saying, "I'm going on Wikibreak, maybe forever, due to WP:RB. I no longer wish to contribute my labor to the project under these conditions, as I feel that this tremendously misguided proposal deals a critical blow to the credibility of the project...If it dies, I might come back. Otherwise, best of luck, y'all"[2].
• Corax (talk · contribs · count) - Missing since May 22, 2006 following controversy and a block surrounding his posting of another Wikipedian's personal information.
• Cortonin (talk · contribs · count) - Missing since shortly after June 26, 2005 six-month ban from certain articles by ArbComm. [3]
• CovenantD (talk · contribs · count) - Hasn't returned since being blocked for 3RR violation on March 23, 2007.
  • He made a couple of edits on July 23rd, but has not edited since.H^t/c 17:48, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
• CrazyTalk (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit on 5 November, 2005. Left a departure note on his user page. "Closed up shop. The three months I was a Wikiholic have sucessfully served their purpose (postponing my career change) and have now run their course. I have also arrived at this conclusion: [4]."
• Conti (talk · contribs · count) - previously known as ContiE. He last edited April 2007 and has not returned since.
• Curps (talk · contribs · count) - declared a semi-Wikivacation on May 13, 2006 and made some bot edits, blocks, and deletions up until June 26, 2006, and then declared a long-term Wikivacation on August 1, 2006 and has not edited since.
• CryptoDerk (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit January 30, 2006 - the user modified his userpage to "I'm not really active on Wikipedia anymore," with the edit summary of (lalala what's up it's derk :P) on July 14, 2006. On March 24, 2007, the user made another edit to his page, adjusting his age in historical context.

• Danakil (talk · contribs · count) - This extraordinary user edited for only one and a half months, from August 1 to September 13, 2004, yet during that time he amassed 3,009 edits. Many of these were controversial, although he was responsible for the systematic and correct categorization of hundreds of programming languages and other software related articles.
  • An anonymous user, User:201.135.18.50 claimed on December 26, 2005 that, as Danakil, he had returned. However Danakil has not made any edits since September 13, 2004.
• Darkfred (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit September 27, 2006
• David91 (talk · contribs · count) - last edit April 12, 2006.
• Dawud (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit was on January 28, 2006, trying to add himself to this page. He attempted to leave a fairwell message here saying he did not believe Wikipedia could ever be made reliable.
  • Pops in and out of Wikipedia. 12 edits in 2006; editing more in 2007.
• DennyColt (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit April 13, 2007.
• Descendall (talk · contribs · count), Placed a retirement tag on his talk page but continued to edit sporadically until his last edit on April 24, 2007.
• DESiegel (talk · contribs · count) - Administrator, last edit August 13, 2007.
• Discordance (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit June 14, 2006.
• DJ Clayworth (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit December 6, 2006.
• Djinn112 (talk · contribs · count) - Only a handful of edits after June 12, 2005; the last was on April 19, 2006.

• Efghij (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit November 18, 2003.
• Elaragirl (talk · contribs · count) - Placed a retirement template on her user page on March 28, 2007, and made her last edit May 1, 2007.
• ElBenevolente (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit January 08, 2006, arbitrary departure occured after acknowledging a user with the {{welcome}} tag. As of April 21 2006, all attempts to contact user in question have been unsuccessful.
• Emax (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit 18 February, 2005. Disappeared without any notice or indication of reason.
• Essexmutant (talk · contribs · count) - Surrendered his adminship and left a departure message on his userpage on September 12, 2006 and made his final four edits 12 days later.
• Essjay (talk · contribs · count) - Missing since March 4, 2007. He retired because of the New Yorker mess. He has surrendered his various flags on every wikimedia project. See Essjay controversy.
• Evilphoenix (talk · contribs · count) - Missing since April 25, 2006, left good-bye message on talk page on 28 November 2006.
• Eyrian (talk · contribs · count) - Has not edited since August, 2007 and last edits were to salt his user and talk pages.

• Faedra (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit January 1, 2005. "This contributor is currently under the impression that Wikipeia is a complete waist of time. (except for a spelling lesson)."
• Fan-1967 (talk · contribs · count) - Left a day after withdrawing RfA early on January 28, 2007.
• Fastifex (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit December 4, 2006.
• FateClub (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit July 13, 2007.
• Fenice (talk · contribs · count) - Left January 18, 2006 after an editwar.
• Filiocht (talk · contribs · count) - After falling ill earlier in the year, he declared himself "away indefinitely" on June 6, 2006.
• Firebug (talk · contribs · count) - Left on January 1, 2006, due to the Userbox controversy. There is a rather, um, explicit goodbye message on his user page.
• Flcelloguy (talk · contribs · count) - ArbCom member, hasn't edited since May 28, 2007, when he left a note at his talk page explaining he's been busy.
• Fonzy (talk · contribs · count) - Retired May 2004: "I don't like change much (which some will probably know or guess why). I prefered Wikipedia more when it was smaller and I felt part of a small community, now Wikipedia has got bigger (which is great) but I dont feel as useful, or as important, I just feel like part of a mob." Made last edit on the 26th of that month.

Made 3 edits on November 9, 2006 to confirm he was the anonymous editor who was instrumental in starting Wikinews. And admitting he had made some anonymous edits to Wikinews during his absence.

• Formeruser-81 (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit July 14, 2005.
• Francs2000 (talk · contribs · count) - Admin and Bureaucrat, left on July 15, 2006 following over 38,000 edits, and has not edited since. Is believed though to have made this anonymous edit in December 2006 after being emailed by another user.
• FuelWagon (talk · contribs · count) - Had over 6000 edits from April 2 to December 23, 2005 before receiving a six-month ban from the ArbCom, and has not edited since, even after the expiration of his ban.
• Func (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit 10 October 2005. "My apologies, I am away from Wikipedia for an extended period of time." Made two edits on April 11, 2006.
• Funnybunny (talk · contribs · count)- Left August 13th, 2006. He has told me by email he had officially quit. He will be missed by many.

• Gadykozma (talk · contribs · count) - Stated he was "taking wikivacation, probably permanent" on November 22, 2004. Last edit 21 December 2004.
• Gaimhreadhan (talk · contribs · count) - Irish Wikipedian, last edit August 8, 2007.
• Ganymead (talk · contribs · count) - Left a retirement notice on his page on August 24, 2007
• Gator1 (talk · contribs · count) - Left April 8, 2006 after harrassment and cyberstalking by a user he indefinitely blocked.
  • He restored a page on July 6, 2006, but has not appeared since.
• Gay Cdn (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit July 6, 2007, posted retirement notice
• GK (talk · contribs · count) - Left on January 14, 2005 with a note: "It took me way too long to realize the underlying facts about the way the Wikipedia works. In this libertarian anarchy, any process is only as functional as it's most dysfunctional participant. What that means is that in too many areas the inmates are in charge of the asylum." GK engaged in approximately a dozen edits through 2005, then updated his "Goodbye" message in September 2005 [5]. He was then absent until December 7, 2006, when he participated in several ArbCom election votes, but has had no other activity.

• Gorrister (talk · contribs · count) Last edit October 5, 2005. Made one edit over a year later on February 27, 2007.
• Grace Note (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit on June 9, 2007. Blanked the user and user talk page with the message: Done with it.
• GRAHAMUK (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit on March 1, 2007. Message on user page since June 2006 that he's on wikibreak.
• Greyengine5 (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit September 4, 2004.

H

• H (talk · contribs · count), formerly HighInBC - Left after threats were made against the well-being of his family. His final words were "it's just a website for fuck's sake." Last edit June 21, 2007.
• Hagerman (talk · contribs · count)- Created a useful bot; he disappeared on 29 April 2007, and his bot on May 25, 2007, and has not replied to emails sent to him.
• Hajor (talk · contribs · count) - An admin, he stated "It stopped being fun... but it was fun while it lasted. Thanks for the ride" in his last edit on November 22, 2005.
• Hapsiainen (talk · contribs · count) has been absent from Wikipedia since December 12, 2005. No further explanation. Has made some edits on the Finnish Wikipedia during 2006.
• Harry_Potter (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit April 10, 2004. Had over 1000 edits, just disappeared.
• Havok (talk · contribs · count) - See User:Havok/Liars for details.
• Hermione1980 (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit May 7, 2006 due to being grounded. Her userpage claimed she might be back at the end of August '06, but she has yet to return.
• HighwayCello (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit 7 November 2006.
• HResearcher (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit September 10, 2006.
• Humansdorpie (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit June 8, 2006. Mature, good-humoured editor with special interest in Africa articles. Left in response to legal threats from User: Lightoftheworld.

I do not see it as acceptable to have advertisements, whether they be for brand identity or for a product, on Wikipedia." - with a link to a foundation-l reference [6]. Edited his userspace 2 March 2007.
• Interiot (talk · contribs · count) Missing since 11 July 2007
• Imran (talk · contribs · count) - last edit 13 February 2005. Left a note on 3 November 2004 to say "Note: I am (as of Sept 04) currently inactive on Wikipedia".
• IP Address (talk · contribs · count) - blanked his user page on August 5, 2006 and made his last contribution later that day.
• Izehar (talk · contribs · count) - last edit January 16, 2006. Made a few user and talk page edits on February 24 of that year and a single edit in January 2007.

• Jade Knight (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit September 4, 2007.
• JamesBurns (talk · contribs · count) - Very active AfD participant; last edit 19 August 2005. His user page and his talk page did not give any indication that he was intending to leave the project.
  • The user appeared on August 4, 2006, to post an indefinite wikibreak template on his space 1.
• Jaxl (talk · contribs · count) - An admin, has not edited since December 20, 2006, when he blanked his user pages after a period of inactivity.
• Jayjg (talk · contribs · count) - An administrator, he left on 04 August 2007 after a large amount of drama and the beginning of the Allegations of apartheid ArbCom case which named him as a party. Has stated in private communications that he's preoccupied with other issues in his life.
• Jazz77 (talk · contribs · count) - Stopped editing after August 28, 2004; made a change to his userpage on August 15, 2005, and announced he was coming back on March 26, 2006; however, he has not edited since.
• Jedi6 (talk · contribs · count) - Administrator, last edits on February 13, 2007. He is possibly busy with school matters.
• Jesster79 (talk · contribs · count) - Left a message on his userpage on July 2, 2006 saying he was leaving Wikipedia for the time being.
• JHCC (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit May 15, 2006. Left a farewell message on his userpage.
• Jimregan (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit 12 February 2005. No longer active around Wikipedia after all and now writes for Linux Gazette(.net)
• John_Fader (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit May 20, 2005 after nearly 5000 edits including regular responses at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical). Declined an offer to be nominated for admin. His user page and his talk page give no indication that he was intending to leave the project and email contact is not enabled.
• John Reid (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit November 30 2006, posted the lyrics to Crazy Rhythm, a sad song about lovers parting (about which he'd written of the mainspace article) presumably as an allusion to his leaving Wikipedia, the day after coming off a disputed block for alleged edit-warring on a policy page; his last edit under this username had a sardonic "null edit summary" in reference to the block log reason.
• JonGwynne (talk · contribs · count) - Left after 26 June 2005 three-month ban by ArbComm. [7] Came back 27 March 2007, but was blocked.
• Jorge Stolfi (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit March 21, 2006. Returned in April 2007, edits now and then.
• Jose_Ramos (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit 23 March 2004; not known why. Now back after a vacation under a new psuedonym, only being disclosed to selected Wikipedians, though.
• Joseph Dwayne (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit May 8, 2006. Known for his humorous vandalism.
• Justforasecond (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit January 19, 2007, left a retirement notice on his user page.

• Kangie (talk · contribs · count) - No edits since May 12, 2007.

• Katefan0 (talk · contribs · count) - A prolific administrator, she left after Daniel Brandt threatened to inform her employer regarding her work on Wikipedia. See Muddying Sandifer for more details. Last edit May 27, 2006.
• Kils (talk · contribs · count) - Former admin, no edits since December 4, 2006.
• KittySaturn (talk · contribs · count) - Left a goodbye message on her user page on July 31, 2006 and changed it to Japanese the next day. Her message roughly translated said,

You grew tired already. How it is good already. Bygone days, this Wikipedia which I have regularly used, Today, it was broken.

• Kokiri (talk · contribs · count) - First blanked user page and talk page on September 18, 2004, but returned sporadically in 2005. She eventually left a retirement notice on her userpage, and has not edited since January 14, 2006.
• Kotepho (talk · contribs · count) - Last edit July 19, 2007. Requested for user and talk pages to be blacked.
• KRS (talk · contribs · count) - Inactive since February 2005. Made a few sporadic edits since then, last one dating back to July 29, 2006.
• Kukkurovaca (talk · contribs · count) - last edit November 23, 2005

• Kirjtc2 (talk · contribs · count) - left a goodbye note on his/her userpage on November 21, 2006

• RickK (talk · contribs · count) - One of the most active administrators on recent changes patrol, blanked his talk page and left a rather bitter goodbye message on his user page. His exit came after a revert war where he was removing a copyright violation, in which he was blocked for violating the three revert rule by a fellow administrator. (see here). Appeared on Simple Wikipedia on July 21, 2005. He came back on December 23, 2005 to protect his user page and leave a message.
