Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Shareitnow (talk | contribs) at 17:02, 14 February 2012 (→‎Mawashi Protective Clothing: new section). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions nor to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions), or in "articles for deletion" debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions on the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

The band is notable. It released six albums (all favorably reviewed on AllMusic), had a number of hit singles on the US College radio and Alternative charts in the 1980's and was involved in a seven-year lawsuit with its label that was profiled in (to name two outlets) The Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune. There was no discussion before the deltion and the guy who deleted it never responded to my contact -Swarles Barkley (talk) 03:35, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not done The page only read "Dumptruck, an influential indie band known for their work in the 1980s, was fronted by Seth Tiven and Kirk Swan. Often compared to The Replacements and other early indie bands who never gained a mass audience, but inspired other musicians." Stuff like that is regularily deleted without discussion (CSD#A7) and isn't restorable. The article you have in mind still needs to be written. --Tikiwont (talk) 14:30, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jungle Ultra Marathon

This page has been on Wiki and reviewed with no problem at all, we simply do not understand why the page has been deleted. We ensured we stuck by the rules of Wiki and added plenty of internal and external links, even asking for SERNANP and PROMPERU to add additional information on the tribes and areas we are helping in the Amazon. There are lots of pages on Ultra Races on Wiki with far less information or references than ours - it would seem to me that we have been sabotaged in some way by another user. Thanks for your time, I'm sure you're busy. -Worldwide Happy Media (talk) 14:55, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - this page has been deleted via a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jungle Ultra Marathon. If you believe that the consensus of the discussion was found in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, please contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Max Semenik (talk · contribs). If you have already done so, your concerns can be taken to deletion review. Best regards, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 16:13, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

photo of ajmal shahzad

The photo was downloaded from a free web content site. It is therefore irrelevant and unneessary to fdelete the file. He is a sports personality and his photographs as redundantly abvailable all around the web.

I therefore request the undeletion of the file as the wiki rules.

With what licensing did this site release the photo? Do you have the URL? Arbitrarily0 (talk) 16:19, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. Copyright in a photo belongs to the photographer unless he assigns it. Just being on a website does not make it free. That image comes from here and is clearly labelled © SWpix.com. If other sites have published it, maybe they paid, maybe they violated copyright, but either way they cannot make it available to us. JohnCD (talk) 16:37, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please check www.imdb.com and search "cassidi hoag" You will find her acting credits here. Thank you Rhonda Hoag...also if you google "Cassidi Hoag" you will also find information verified on who she is

Not done IMDB is not a valid reliable source as it is user-editable. Please see the biography of living persons policy for the importance of having multiple third party sources as backup for bios. Please also see WP:ACTOR for the definition of "notable" when it comes to actors. It is your responsibility to ensure the article meets Wikipedia requirements before creating a live article. I believe the article was deleted because notability standards were not met. I'd like the opporunity to establish that the academic scholar is notable and worthy of a wikipedia entry -Masriyya (talk) 01:13, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Arab Families Working Group

I believe the article was deleted either because it was scene as promoting an organization or it didn't meet notability requirements. I'd like the chance to improve the article because I believe the subject is important and wikipedia-worthy -Masriyya (talk) 01:16, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I've found this one - the title had a "The" on the front - and "userfied" it for you to User:Masriyya/Arab Families Working Group where you can work on it. You need to establish notability by means of references that show significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. JohnCD (talk) 15:12, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. That article will not be restored because it was a copyright violation, copied from http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/heather5. You must not copy material into Wikipedia: please read Wikipedia:Copy-paste. Also, it was far too promotional in tone for an encyclopedia article - fluff like "a shift in paradigm where the feminine power is now also focused on leadership role for women... powerful, beautiful, purposeful, dignified, and meaningful" is not for Wikipedia. Write a draft article in your user space, plain facts of what she has achieved, neutrally written and backed up by reliable sources, and submit it at WP:Articles for creation. More advice on your talk page soon. JohnCD (talk) 14:40, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NBC.com is not a real source; I don't know why someone linked to a bare URL. Nevertheless, was deleting it unreasonable, although I tagged it for deletion? To be honest, I don't know if the source was the DVD or YouTube. -George Ho (talk) 05:30, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This page was deleted because he was not notable. (College team only. No awards. No Sources.) Champion City Comics

Champion City Comics is an active webcomic company updated daily and with two printed books. It was deleted, if I understand correctly as not being important. I work 8 hours a day on this company and have put my lifeblood into it. So has Tony and other Champion City staff. Webcomics are important as feeders to the big companies like Marvel. Champion City Comics, founded by TonyDoug Wright in October of 2009, is a webcomics community fueled by a do-it-yourself philosophy. It has been our goal to provide excellent webcomics to a worldwide community while supporting and developing up-and-coming writers and artists. Currently, we have nine titles that cover various genres from science-fiction to crime noir to teen humor. Our dedicated staff of writers and artists hail from the United States -24.10.69.55 (talk) 22:14, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

one million moms

The cached article seems fine and the group is extremely newsworthy, especially at the moment due to their campaign against Ellen Degeneres. It was speedily deleted because too many people were supposedly vandalising it, which hardly seems like a reason to speedily delete such a newsworthy group. -209.128.29.254 (talk) 15:26, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You mean One Million Moms? That wasn't deleted because it was being vandalized, it was deleted because it was a shameless advertisement thinly disguised as an article. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:34, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

An advertisement for what? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.162.211.16 (talk) 17:04, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

... for an organization that is actually merely a branch of yet another organization with the same goals and methods, and therefore requries no separate article of its own. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 17:19, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is apparently a mistaken belief in some circles that an advertisement for anything other than a commercial product is not "really" an advertisement; and that spamming Wikipedia (or anybody else) is "not really spamming" because the spam isn't selling a product or service. We make no such distinction here, nor do most folks when their website is abused with promotional vandalism. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:31, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
