Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Paoli Dam, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bindi (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

User:AJona1992, I see no hope at this moment. I have hands full with List of Professor Shonku adventures and one more article. You can tell me your need now. But, if you are looking for a GA review, I absolutely don't have time in hand! --Tito Dutta (contact) 15:49, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a GA review but a PR review (which is kinda the same) so no worries. Best, jonatalk to me 15:50, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Article Review

Hi Tito! Thank you for reviewing the article Mapping Bangladesh, I've made changes from your suggestions and deleted primary sources as advised. I am new at this, requesting you to have a look at it now. Thank you for your time! --Arman Khossain (talk) 11:22, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Arman Khossain, show me at least 3 news articles (no problem if it is Bengali or some other language) where the online based community has been discussed in details! --Tito Dutta (contact) 11:28, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Tito Dutta, unfortunately I do not have any English news for you; there was this one detailed article in English, but it seems it was archived and is not accessible. These would be the articles you're looking for: 1 (most detailed), 2 and 3, all in Bengali. There were also news reports on several TV channels, unfortunately I don't have the links bookmarked. Hoping this would suffice. Thank you.--Arman Khossain (talk) 13:17, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for all of your help.--Arman Khossain (talk) 14:42, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There are some minor error which I have ben correcting, for example see WP:OVERLINK, WP:BARE, WP:ALSO. How do you own copyright of the logo? --Tito Dutta (contact) 14:46, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for making the corrections, if there's anything I can correct, do let me know. About the image, it isn't exactly copyrighted; I do not possess knowledge of how this works on Wikipedia, so I chose the best option I thought would fit. If possible, may be you can make changes, if required, from the following information - the logo was designed by owners of the community; being the manager of the community, I asked the creator to mail me a digital copy for Wikipedia, and he did. This logo represents the community, but is not copyrighted. I reviewed Wikipedia's policies for image uploads and thought it is completely okay to be with the article. Please advise. Thank you.--Arman Khossain (talk) 15:01, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Is not copyrighted does not make proper sense. Did they release it in public domain? If so, did they make any announcement in their website or somewhere? You can do multiple things! a) send an e-mail to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with as much information as possible, such as who you are and where the document was published previously. Don't forget to include the URL of the uploaded image. b) somewhere in your website mention that you are allowing Wikipedia to use the image (under CC SA 3.0 unported license) c) in the image description page you can write that you are manager etc etc. BTW, do you have domain for your website? If you have, send email to permission team from your admin@mapping-bangladesh.com email! --Tito Dutta (contact) 15:08, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your time and help. It is good to be able to learn for future contributions to Wikipedia. No, the community doesn't have a custom domain, in this case in your opinion, who should be the mail to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org be sent from? I'll get on to points 'b' and 'c' now. If there's anything else that should be done, please do let me know. Appreciate your time! Thank you.--Arman Khossain (talk) 15:21, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you have printed pad, you can write on it and scan the paper too! --Tito Dutta (contact) 15:27, 9 May 2013 (UTC) The problem of not using a custom domain is anyone can send an email from gmail.com or yahoo.com id. If your site is mapping-bangladesh.com and you send email from admin@mapping-bangladesh.com, that looks persuasive! BTW, since you are from Bangladesh, do you know what is the status of the film Camp? Afsana Mimi was making a film on Muhammed_Zafar_Iqbal's story! I want to start an article, but not getting information on film's status! --Tito Dutta (contact) 15:30, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the info. Re: Film Camp, it should be a good one, from what I've last heard, they started shooting it, but that's the only thing I know. :)--Arman Khossain (talk) 16:02, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

re: AFC/Dharma Realm Buddhist University

Dear Titodutta,

I appreciate your efforts in maintaining the both the relevance and neutrality/accuracy of Wikipedia, and know that it is quite a formidable job to play a part in the community.

However, despite these good intentions, the editors of Wikipedia come from largely a similar perspective with at least regard to one thing: internet usage, for obvious reasons. Thus, the perspective of Wikipedia can be skewed towards those entities covered by web-based media. There may be several forms of bias, such as supposedly valid references often including blogs or poorly-researched local news briefs; or a selection bias against sources (oral and written) not located on the internet.

As an example, the Dharma Realm Buddhist University is not a typical school from the viewpoint of college stereotypes. The students' days begin with the first activities at 4 am; there are no wild parties or Facebook pokes, as internet usage is not as ubiquitous as at other schools. (Indeed, some other organizations prefer a total or large lack of web presence.) The goal of the school does not include creating websites or inviting the press to cover its activities; rather it does not seek fame, but its activities are evident in the quality and dedication of the monastics who train at the school, the hundreds of books and articles written by alumni of the school, and the relatively high renown of the school among Chinese Buddhists in this country and in others (Malaysia, Taiwan, etc). Something does not necessarily need random online links to make it valid or real in existence. Thus, despite its humble nature, it would seem odd for the DRBU article to be rejected from Wikipedia.

As I am neither an employee at, nor student of, nor consultant for, nor paid by, any of the previously aforementioned entities, I have no deeply vested interest in this matter, and will conclude the conversation here regardless of any editorial decision on this matter. Thank you for your time.

You can use local newspaper, offline sources too! Has any government data mentioned about this institution? The article is too large to get passed without at least 1—2 secondary sources. --Tito Dutta (contact) 07:11, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I don't usually work in that section. I did nominate Gulfton, Houston for an FA once (I worked on that article) but it failed. Is there something you need in that section? WhisperToMe (talk) 23:58, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've just used your customised search in an attempt to expand Vinod Jose. I got nowhere in terms of expansion but, hey, the search itself worked like a dream and produced many more hits than the standard Google job. Thanks very much for this. - Sitush (talk) 08:49, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you please allow me and in case if you didn't know it already, just a tip. You can use all advanced Google's search operators like "Queryyyy" for exact query or - to remove something (eg. Sonia Gandhi -UPA) or my favorite one "Sonia Gandhi The Hindu" or "Sonia Gandhi site:thehindu.com" fo mainly The Hindu results. --Tito Dutta (contact) 09:06, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure about the first, which looks weird, but I know of the latter two. There is a somewhat bizarre saying here in the UK that probably originated from the football (soccer) grounds: "We eat all the pies so you don't have to". It is far too complex for me to try to explain the likely origins etc - the Brit psyche is very weird, and the football subcategory even more so! - but just take it from me, you've eaten all the pies and saved me a lot of effort working out the recipe and wasting time eating them myself. Simple, well-considered tools such as this are an absolute boon and deserve a barnstar. I am not a big donor of barnstars but, hey, please have one ...
What a Brilliant Idea Barnstar
This is for a lot of stuff, not just your recent efforts to give us better access to the awkward Google results for Indian news sources, although that alone deserves it. Keep on doing what you do. It is much appreciated. Sitush (talk) 23:48, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
