This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Ismailfazal (talk | contribs) at 15:01, 27 May 2013 ({{la|Qubool_Hai}}). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

    Current requests for protection

Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Temporary semi-protection: Vandalism from multiple IP addresses as they are adding inaccurate information, duplicate content from another wiki page and removing section of the page. Non-registered members are now and then changing the page content. Ismailfazal (talk) 20:31, 27 May 2013 (IST)

Temporary semi-protection: Vandalism from multiple IP addresses (adding obviously inaccurate information, as well as language links - no longer used on Wikipedia, as far as I know - that mostly point to non-existent pages). Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 14:11, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: edit warring over release date - Edit warring for the last few days - non-registered people using IP addresses are deliberately changing the release date of the game to unofficial/made-up dates. The date (as referenced, for example, by user 'Gaunt') is the only one that has so far been officially annount of the developer's web site.--Gaunt (talk) 14:10, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Edit warring for the last four or five hours. Dawnseeker2000 13:56, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Please protect for a while. Transfer speculation leading to many IP vandal edits, which need to be reverted. JMHamo (talk) 12:27, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Missing padlock template: This article is currently move protected but the padlock template does not show. Could someone please correct this? VGPHD (talk) 12:20, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Missing padlock template: This article is currently move protected but the padlock template does not show. Could someone please correct this? VGPHD (talk) 12:20, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Edit warring, with persistent attempts to add unsourced content and use the article for promotional purposes, and lack of WP:GOODFAITH. 99.149.85.229 (talk) 04:00, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Declined The page is at AfD and being worked on. Await the outcome of the discussion.Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:41, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – The article has been recently fully-protected, but prior to that it was semi. An IP editor keeps modifying the fleet table with changes that are not in accordance with the supporting reference. Besides, their edits are unexplained. Jetstreamer Talk 23:05, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

DeclinedWarn the user appropriately then report them to AIV or ANI if they continue. Lectonar (talk) 11:51, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – simply see the history, many semi protections didn't improved the situation... mabdul 20:28, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. I do not know waht you are seeing here, but we had a little spike of vandalism the last days...before that we have weeks with no edits at all, with some vandalism interspersed....Lectonar (talk) 09:30, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protection: High level of IP vandalism. Junebea1 (talk) 15:25, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Declined Frequency not very high, and far from all IP-edits are vandalism. Lectonar (talk) 09:28, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistant vandalism. Many users used false references. 9:36, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

    Star Wars Episode VII

Hi, can someone unprotect the page Star Wars Episode VII? This was protected by User:Jc37, but Jc37 appears to be currently having a period of Wikipedia inactivity.

There has been a discussion at Talk:Star Wars sequel trilogy#Episode VII page of its own - proposal where the proposal that the Star Wars Episode VII page should be reinstated, and material about Episode VII split out from Star Wars sequel trilogy material onto that page, has achieved consensus among those editors who responded to the proposal. To action this will require the unprotecting of the page Star Wars Episode VII.

    Thanks

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
