Re: 3D Mol Request

Sorry it's been forever since I've logged in. Sorry sorry. OK, so you want some Bromo-DragonFLY?

I've been real busy. It's not hard for me to model one, the hard part is uploading a pic to wikipedia. Ironic isnt it? If you think it needs a better 3d pick than the current one I can come up with one. I'm busy this week, so it may have to wait till the weekend. What say you?

License tagging for Image:Vomitingtoiletman.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Vomitingtoiletman.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Re LSD Molecule

Hey Rick, thanks for the email. Actually, I can make rotating images for that stuff. LOL, it's kinda of a process but don't let that scare you. Basically I use two programs. The first is Accelery's chemical software (free) to input SMILE formulas, then I save that file to a .png so Qutemol (the second program, also free) can render it with it's rendering functions (such as a rotating molecule).

Hope this helps, let me know if I can get you started. Im one person working on chemistry articles constantly. If we get more people on board we can really clean house and make those articles shine!

Microswitch

Thanks for such a quick edit to mdma, i copy/pasted the image code and discovered it - what must have been a moment after you. Ashame that gif doesn't render perfectly in firefox (it kinda overlaps a bit of text), W3 non-standard CSS support, meh. Hum, I might wanna try what Microswitch has done. I'll fire up my desktop - it has a card supported by qutemole. --x1987x(talk) 01:29, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My laptop wont render qutemol either. --x1987x(talk) 04:05, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Personally I love chemsketch, 1 it's free for personal use (you can register by filling out the form with fake info, then they give you a link, doesn't matter). I save the chemical as a MOL, and use OpenBabel 2 to convert it into a PDB for QuteMol. Three step process, but I just couldn't download Accelerys whichever program. --x1987x(talk) 05:04, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MDMA precursors in saffron

Hi there, I'm just wondering if you have any other sources for a precursor of MDMA being in saffron (safrole I presume?). The reference you used in the saffron page is unreliable, is there any scientific evidence that safrole is in saffron? I can't find any at the moment. --Mark PEA 12:17, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Skyballaghostridesthebenz.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Fair use rationale for Image:Octooo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Octooo.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

DMT structure

Hi Miserlou,

thanks for your contribution Image:Dmt3dd.png. Omitting the hydrogens for such a small molecule does not really make sense and might be confusing. The convention is to add the hydrogen to at least the heteroatoms (the indole-NH). You might also want to use aromatic bonds instead of alternating single / double bonds. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemistry/Structure drawing for uploading such images to the Commons. Cacycle 13:18, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The same goes for the Image:Lsdballstick.png which is also broken (The one H atom is transparent instead of white). Cacycle 14:15, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ybor.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ybor.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 18:27, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Copowi

A tag has been placed on Copowi, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WebHamster 23:50, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Miserlou, the essential part of that edit says "it can be theorized that". This is an obvious indicator of speculation and WP:OR and the whole addition should be removed. Hi

Ketamine and Ron Paul...... They are both truth tellers  :) Yeah, I uploaded a picture of K from Mexico they are still using for this section: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketamine#Recreational_use

I know you're not supposed to promote your own stuff but I like my http://www.ronpaulvideos.net site I made. I've been trying to add it as an external link on the Ron Paul page. It was up for a while but now they pull it.... whatever. It doesn't matter though, with my SEO skills I've gotten it up to #3 on Google for the search "Ron Paul videos".

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Image:Yuremamine22ud.jpg. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. The image was taken from the academic paper [3] and modified slightly, though is still copyright of the original author. Freeware programs exist that allow you to create such images easily. If you'd like, I could recreate the image and upload it for you. Cheers, Rkitko (talk) 16:06, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Pennsylvania System of School Assessment, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Pennsylvania System of School Assessment is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Pennsylvania System of School Assessment, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Unspecified source for Image:Abu-ghraib-map.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Abu-ghraib-map.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:12, 19 February 2008 (UTC). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chuggo and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:00, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Teddyboy1959.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Teddyboy1959.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [4], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

 • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
 • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Survey request

Hi, Miserlou I need your help. I am working on a research project at Boston College, studying creation of medical information on Wikipedia. You are being contacted because you have been identified as an important contributor to one or more articles.

Would you will be willing to answer a few questions about your experience? We've done considerable background research, but we would also like to gather the insight of the actual editors. Details about the project can be found at the user page of the project leader, geraldckane. Survey questions can be found at geraldckane/medsurvey. Your privacy and confidentiality will be strictly protected!

The questions should only take a few minutes. I hope you will be willing to complete the survey, as we do value your insight. Please do not hesitate to contact me or Professor Kane if you have any questions. Thank You, BCproject (talk) 18:18, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of OpenBiomind, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://code.google.com/p/openbiomind. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of OpenBiomind

A tag has been placed on OpenBiomind requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

-- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 19:55, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

I am sorry that you were offended by my warning, however inserting the word "supposedly" into an referenced fact shows clear POV, namely that you don't believe the fact to be true. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add hangon on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -Zeus- 03:22, 6 February 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by -Zeus- (talkcontribs)

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:2cepills.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MBisanz talk 23:26, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Q Group, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Q Group. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Office Tmbox

Hey, Miserlou. Just so you know, I've undone your edit where you added the OFFICE tmbox to the TI keys article; while I do appreciate it and understand why you did so, it doesn't seem necessary to me on the article itself. Anyone editing the article will see the edit notice informing them of the same thing, and anyone reading the article doesn't need to know why we don't have the keys; if they are curious, they'd go to the talk page or try to edit the page themselves anyway. Generally OFFICE actions aren't announced on the article itself unless the entire article has to be locked down for some reason. I'm open to discussion on this, but I just wanted to let you know. File permission problem with File:Daviddeutschted.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Daviddeutschted.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

 • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
 • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add OTRS pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 06:14, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Operation Anti-Security. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Open Source Routing Machine, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://project-osrm.org.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 19:42, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Open Source Routing Machine has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of third-party coverage by reliable sources, fails WP:GNG.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  Sandstein  19:53, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Open Source Routing Machine for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Open Source Routing Machine is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Open Source Routing Machine until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article.  Sandstein  20:03, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AfD and assume good faith

I think you'd find AfD a lot more accommodating if you answered objections on the merits, rather than ranting at the nominator. You're not winning any friends with this and frankly its probably going to raise some eyebrows. I know it's frustrating when an article's nominated, but your first draft apparently took a lot of the webpage verbatim, enough that the bot caught it. Also, there are lots of open source projects that are deleted every week because they don't have widespread notability. Nominations have nothing to do with you: it's not personal. So don't respond to the nominator as though it were. Shadowjams (talk) 21:34, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attack on your user page

I see that you have already been warned about your ad hominem arguments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Open Source Routing Machine, so I won't beat that dead horse any further. However, this statement is a violation of the user page policy and I ask that you remove it.

You are generally allowed a great deal of leeway regarding your user space; however, it is not a personal webspace and it may not be used for personal attacks. I see that you have been warned several times in the past regarding personal attacks and/or the civility policy; I suggest you heed them. I see that you have made some significant, good contributions in the past, and I would hate to see a good editor get blocked over something like this. —KuyaBriBriTalk 15:46, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

 • I was wondering what would happen about that statement. It is not a personal attack on the man, nor is it particularly uncivil; it is a fact. I despise him. I consider him to be a cancer upon Wikipedia. Deleitionism is a disease which I believe should be diagnosed and treated. Where else besides my own userpage can I address this fact? And how would you have me rephrase my statement in a politically-correct way? Miserlou (talk) 23:28, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:Shahmac.jpg

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 02:43, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia Library now offering accounts from Cochrane Collaboration (sign up!)

Cochrane Collaboration is an independent medical nonprofit organization consisting of over 28,000 volunteers in more than 100 countries. The collaboration was formed to organize medical scholarship in a systematic way in the interests of evidence-based research: the group conducts systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials of health-care interventions, which it then publishes in the Cochrane Library.

Cochrane has generously agreed to give free, full-access accounts to 100 medical editors. Individual access would otherwise cost between $300 and $800 per account. Thank you Cochrane!

If you are stil active as a medical editor, come and sign up :)
