Ranghar (Template:Lang-ur) are a community of land owner Changar tribe who claim to be Muslim Rajputs found in the Sindh and Punjab provinces of Pakistan and the Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh states of India.[citation needed]
History and origin
The Ranghar were classified as an "agricultural tribe" by the British Raj administration. This was often taken to be synonymous with the classification of martial race, and some Ranghars were recruited to the British Indian Army.[1]
