    The Spam-whitelist page is used in conjunction with the Mediawiki SpamBlacklist extension, and lists strings of text that override Meta's blacklist and the local spam-blacklist. Any administrator can edit the spam whitelist. Please post comments to the appropriate section below: Proposed additions (web pages to unblock), Proposed removals (sites to reblock), or Troubleshooting and problems; read the messageboxes at the top of each section for an explanation. See also MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist.

    Please enter your requests at the bottom of the Proposed additions to Whitelist section and not at the very bottom of the page. Sign your requests with four tildes: ~~~~

    Also in your request, please include the following:

    1. The link that you want whitelisted in the section title, like === example.com/help/index.php === .
    2. The Wikipedia page on which you want to use the link
    3. An explanation why it would be useful to the encyclopedia article proper
    4. If the site you're requesting is listed at /Common requests, please include confirmation that you have read the reason why requests regarding the site are commonly denied and that you still desire to proceed with your request

    Important: You must provide a full link to the specific web page you want to be whitelisted (leave out the http:// from the front; otherwise you will not be able to save your edit to this page). Requests quoting only a domain (i.e. ending in .com or similar with nothing after the / character) are likely to be denied. If you wish to have a site fully unblocked please visit the relevant section of MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist.

    Note: Do not request links to be whitelisted where you can reasonably suspect that the material you want to link to is in violation of copyright (see WP:LINKVIO). Such requests will likely be summarily rejected.

    There is no automated notification system in place for the results of requests, and you will not be notified when your request has a response. You should therefore add this page to your personal watch list, to your notifications through the subscribe feature, or check back here every few days to see if there is any progress on it; in particular, you should check whether administrators have raised any additional queries or expressed any concerns about the request, as failure to reply to these promptly will generally result in the request being denied.

    Completed requests are archived, additions and removal are logged. →snippet for logging: {{/request|826993625#section_name}}

    Note that requests from new or unregistered users are not usually considered.

    Admins: Use seth's tool to search the spamlists.

    Notice to everyone about our Reliable sources and External links noticeboards

    If you have a source that you would like to add to the spam-whitelist, but you are uncertain that it meets Wikipedia's guideline on reliability, please ask for opinions on the Reliable sources noticeboard, to confirm that it does meet that guideline, before submitting your whitelisting request here. In your request, link to the confirming discussion on that noticeboard.

    Likewise, if you have an external link that you are uncertain meets Wikipedia's guideline on external links, please get confirmation on the External links noticeboard before submitting your whitelisting request here.

    If your whitelist request falls under one of these two categories, the admins will be more willing to have the source whitelisted if you can achieve consensus at one of the above noticeboards.

    Proposed additions to Whitelist (web pages to unblock)

    yourstory.com

    Contains a useful interview with the team-lead of a notable game, which can be used in the development section of the game's article. Thanks, King Prithviraj II (talk) 12:09, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    • Link requested to be whitelisted: yourstory.com/2017/03/yuwa-jharkhand/

    A useful source for Yuwa-India. Spells the founding funder's names correctly. The original Wiki article spelled Stephen's name as Sephen. Other info in YourStory corroborates development and history, to be used later. LarryLACa (talk) 21:34, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Beetstra: Would you like to review this request? Its been more than one month since the original request. King Prithviraj II (talk) 19:25, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    @King Prithviraj II: Can you link me the article for the top request? --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:19, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    europaforumblog.files.wordpress.com

    Used at Europa-Forum Wachau; specific linked file [1] appears to be a legitimate policy document. Can't find the implicated entry "\bfiles\.wordpress\.com\b" on the global blacklist so I don't know what that's about. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 08:59, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Elmidae: This is not blacklisted (anymore):  Not done. --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:13, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    Ah, all right. Removed tag. Cheers. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 09:24, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    defence-industries.com

    Was trying to add the full link: defence-industries.com/projects/general-dynamics-received-advance-procurement-contract-for-us-navy to a list of links in an RfC at Talk:Military Sealift Command. Page wouldn't save with this url, instead giving me a blacklist notice (couldn't save it either). I couldn't find the url on either the global or local blacklists, and so I have posted this on the blacklist talk page under 'trouble-shooting'. That said, this appears to be a legitimate site, so I don't see why it would be blacklisted. If it actually is, I suspect it's an error. Either way, if I could at least have this particular link exempted for use in the RfC, it would be appreciated. Thanks - theWOLFchild 00:24, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Thewolfchild: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist per suggestions in the original blacklisting request. (I did not see that you had already posted here). --Dirk Beetstra T C 06:03, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    mixcloud.com

    I am not completely certain if this is suitable for Wikipedia, but I thought it was worth bringing up at discussion until I realized I couldn't even do that because it slapped me with a blacklist. Oh, perfect. I imagine SoundCloud is too? (though that probably has good reasons too) The point is, I wanted to use this for an interview on Radiohead's album Kid A, which is currently a good article nominee, but I can't without permission here to begin with. I can't see any reason why this wouldn't be reliable, but maybe someone else might disagree with me. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 15:18, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @DannyMusicEditor: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist. The issue was not reliability, the issue was abuse. Though SoundCloud may have similar problems with reliability or suitability (WP:RS & WP:EL), to the best of my knowledge spamming/abuse is not a problem there. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:05, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    • Link requested to be whitelisted: rwsnforum7.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/full_paper_0044_submitter_0121_olschewski_andre.pdf

    Reason: I want to cite this article, which has been published at an international conference and has been peer-reviewed. Citing the article adds valuable information and credibility to the article where I want to use it (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-supply_of_water_and_sanitation). @Dirk Beetstra:

    I am requesting for the domain rwsnforum7.files.wordpress.com to be whitelisted. It's full of usefull scientific papers, all of which have been peer-reviewed. Thanks --Matthias S (talk) 09:22, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Matthias S: This is not blacklisted (anymore)

    del.icio.us/iknovate/DesignThinking

    I was half-way through manually archiving part of a section of a talk page. Someone had top-posted recently in a very, very old thread, so I was going to leave that post in place with a link to the archive.

    Now I can't save the text I want to archive to Talk:Design thinking/Archive 1 because icio.us is blacklisted. This whitelisting can be temporary if necessary, but it would be nice to save the archive. I can't even undo the removal of the text from the talk page because that it putting the link back on the page.

    (BTW, I am an admin, but I thought it would be safer to post here, rather than attempt to edit the whitelist directly, since I am unfamiliar with the format.)

    Yaris678 (talk) 13:02, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Yaris678: no Declined, on talkpages it is fine to just rip of the 'http:// of any of the links and it will save just fine. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:45, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    • Link requested to be whitelisted: goo.gl/#home
    • Reason: I am not too certain if this is suitable for Wikipedia, but I would like to add this link to the article – Google URL Shortener (goo.gl). The link is a redirection link and URL shortener, but I believe it can be whitelisted for the article's infobox as it is the homepage of this service.

    • Reason: The site
    • Link requested to be whitelisted: econlib.org/library

    archives valuable articles and books by Irving_Fisher and other prominent economists. In my opinion a valuable source. Specifically

    • Link requested to be whitelisted: econlib.org/library/Essays/fshEnc1.html
    • Link requested to be whitelisted: econlib.org/library/YPDBooks/Fisher/fshPPM.html
    • Link requested to be whitelisted: econlib.org/library/YPDBooks/Fisher/fshToI.html

    are published works by Irving Fisher himself, one of the best known economists of his time. Malaiya (talk) 04:11, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Malaiya: no Declined. Yes, the works are valuable, but free sources. For example, it took me about 1 second to find s:1922 Encyclopædia Britannica/Dollar Stabilization, and other works of Fisher are available from independent libraries (it took me a bit longer to find the pdf in a university library). These works can all be uploaded to wikisource. There is no reason to use a partisan source for such information, especially not one where there was COI/paid editing spam involved. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:48, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    econlib.org specific article request

    Two specific articles requested for whitelisting. These articles both contain the best explanations of the change in marginal contribution curves under a minimum wage within an monopsonistic context. Specifically, I couldn't find a better open source explanation of the "kink" in the curve without citing a non-publically available text book or a site with an even more apparent agenda. I think there is limited risk in whitelisting both of these from the COI/Spam concerns since it is a limited request. Squatch347 (talk) 16:28, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Squatch347: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist. --Dirk Beetstra T C 06:27, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    petitions.obamawhitehouse.archives.gov

    • Reason: This link is relevant to the article Clint Lorance, as it contains the exact text of the WH response to a petition asking for clemency for the subject. No reliable sources contain this text.

    Preqin.com

    • Reason: The wiki page is a genuine company page and the referring url within points to a defensively registered domain (www.prequin.com) rather than the official company website domain. In terms of accuracy of data this needs to change. We deliberately do not redirect www.prequin.com

    Dbpreqin (talk) 12:18, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Dbpreqin: per /Common requests#About, we would need an about-page or a full url (including an index.htm) of the index page. Can you please provide a suitable link? Please, also include the currently used primary references used on Preqin in this request. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:53, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @Beetstra: Ok, I would request that the About page be whitelisted www.preqin.com/section/about-preqin/100 Dbpreqin (talk) 12:41, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    @Dbpreqin: plus Added to MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist, only for use on Preqin. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:09, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Examiner.com

    • Reason: Hi. Could this page be whitelisted - via web archive - to be used as citation on the Derrick Green page? The text is available on a Facebook page but that seems just as bad a link if not worse. Thanks for your time. Cheers.

    WattStreetWhiteStreet (talk) 14:48, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    @WattStreetWhiteStreet: no need for the web archive to be whitelisted, we need to whitelist the examiner directly:
    • Link requested to be whitelisted: examiner.com/metal-music-in-cleveland/interview-with-cleveland-s-own-derrick-green-of-sepultura
    can you confirm that part? —Dirk Beetstra T C 19:09, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Hi Dirk. That is the correct address. It is dead now, it only exists in the web archive as far as I can see, but the bot picked it up even though it's not a direct link.
