- Sticking to the facts that are universally agreed upon tends to help :) That's why I left out, e.g., the famous decimation in August 1918 and most of Kronstadt-1921, since both could be disputed by partisans. On the other hand, I included the fact that Trotsky ordered to hold former officers' families as hostages since he quoted a December 1918 letter that mentioned this policy in Stalin. Which reminds me... I didn't include his original first name (Leiba) even though I have seen it mentioned in police reports. I think it was quoted in, um, Proletarskaia Revoliutsuiia No. 1-2, 1921. Anybody have a copy handy? Ahasuerus 14:59, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

- It's a shame that until today there was no category for Russian bridges, while there were separate cats for bridges in Zimbabwe, Panama, Bahrein, &c. I initiated Category:Bridges in Moscow and Category:Bridges in Saint Petersburg and started to populate them. The first Russian bridges that made their way into WP are Bolshoi Kamennyi Bridge and Palace Bridge, more to follow soon. --Ghirlandajo 22:33, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

- Yes, the term is used in Russia, too, although it's very rare. The only places officially called "mestechko" I am aware of are Znamenka and Opytnoye Pole in Kirov Oblast and mestechko Svoboda in Kursk Oblast.—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 16:43, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
