tk to kathmandu

I added Kathmandu flights, as it is officially declared and timetables given at turkish airlines website, it can also be googled as some publications mentioned it. I also gave the reference. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Air Seychelles, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Registration (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Surinam Airways retired fleet

Hello Jetstream, you've removed the used airplanes of the Surinaamse Luchtvaart Maatschappij, Surinam Airways, which i had added because there was no reliable source added. The problem is I don't know how to add a book like: "Flying on trusted wings" ISBN10: 9460222153 / ISBN13: 9789460222153 to the article as a kind of reference or the site http://landewers.net/PZ.TXT with the Surinamese aircraft registrations of all time. Maybe you can help me out? Thank you Nardisoero 03:17, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

I've started a discussion on the article's talk page regarding your recent edits to the page. Please continue the discussion there so everyone interested in the article can participate. Thanks.--Jetstreamer Talk 12:10, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Uploading images

Hi Jetstreamer,

I need some help on how to upload images related to aviation. I want to know how you upload images like this to wikipedia from websites such as Airliners.net

Thanks — Ahnaaf (talk) 15:53, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Not all the images at www.airliners.net can be uploaded, just the ones the author has acknowledged for someone else to do so. Once you have identified them, you may proceed to the upload process at WP:COMMONS. Are you having any particular image in mind?--Jetstreamer Talk 22:10, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
It would be great if you uploaded this pictures: (Biman 777-300ER, another Biman 777-300ER, NovoAir Embraer). Thanks! — Ahnaaf (talk) 11:29, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Have you uploaded them? Ahnaaf (talk) 10:37, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
No, I haven't. The authors of those images have not acknowledged their images to be uploaded to Commons, i.e. there are not valid licenses to upload them.--Jetstreamer Talk 21:09, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, Jetstreamer. You have new messages at Nardisoero's talk page.
Message added 23:25, 21 May 2013 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Hello Jetstream, i'm not sure what exactly you are waiting for from me, but as a new contributor to Wikipedia I will first contact the helpdesk about these reference issues, I've already contacted the Surinam Airways people today to make sure about any copyright violation. For now I will stop contributing, despite the fact that I have loads of unpublished historical data about my country, of which you may have the right to question if there is not any "reliable" reference yet on the internet. All this data is from way before the digital time we now live in and for a country as Suriname likely to be lost forever...Sorry I'm not so familiar with how the Wikipedia talk page works. I can also always be contacted at nardi_sbb@hotmail.com. Yours sincerely. (22:20, 22 May 2013 (UTC))

Ok, I can now figure out that the problem here is not that you're adding unsourced info, but that you are introducing content that is backed up by sources published in paper (by contrast to online sources), and you are not including the proper references. Please let me know if I'm right about this. If I am, you must know that, as per WP:SOURCE, references published in paper are as valid as online ones, as long as you provide as much information about them as you can, so anyone can access them. Maybe we can finally cooperate to each other to expand Surinam Airways...--Jetstreamer Talk 22:49, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes you are right Jetstreamer. Sounds like a great plan, love to cooperate. Tomorrow I have scheduled phone calls to the editors, publisher and writer of some of these published books about copyrights etc. Already have had mailcontact. I can use any help on how to expand only truthful aviation info on Wikipedia based on facts. It might take me some time to gather all the freedoms on pictures, the valid info and to study what exactly the Wiki procedures are on new material. Thanks in advance for your moderator skills & patience. Talk 01:28, 23 May 2013 (UTC)(Nardisoero (talk) 04:39, 24 May 2013 (UTC))

Surinam Airways

Hello everyone. This time I'm contacting you regarding an issue that has been around at Surinam Airways for some time, where an IP editor keeps modifying the fleet table disregarding the supporting reference, and not providing edit summaries. S(he) hasn't replied to my comments as well. The matter is bordering warring the way I see it. I've recently requested protection for the page and did not revert their last edit until the outcome at WP:RPP. As you might guess, it was denied. The admin that denied the request suggested to report the IP editor at WP:AIV, but I feel that that won't work since their edits come from a dynamic IP, and s(he) will rapidly switch from one IP to another. Let me add that all the edits in question made by IP editors seem to have been done on behalf of Nardisoero (talk · contribs) —actually, I've tagged one of these IPs as a possible sockpuppetry case— with whom I have communicated many times in the lats days, yet I barely got comments/answers from. For the time being, the only way I see to solve the issues in the article is fully-protecting it again. Nevertheless, all this stuff is not restricted to the aforementioned article: you may take a look at Oelemari Airport's talk page. Hope I've been clear enough to put in words the situation. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:26, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello Jetstreamer, you are completely wrong in all of your accusations. I might not be a whizzkid like yourself, but when i submit anything on wikipedia I do this on a 100 percent trustworthy and honest way. I may not be aware of all the rules you want to enforce on me, but my edits are to expand articles about the aviation of my country, where I'm an expert in and I have enough proof of matters of the past. So I hope you stop your personal campaign against me. Yours sincerely.(Nardisoero (talk) 23:45, 28 May 2013 (UTC))
Hello again, I'm glad to read this from you. This is not a campaign against nobody, please do not misinterpret me. If I offended you in any way, please accept my apologies. It's just that you did not respond. I've withdrawn the help request. Can we have a more cooperative relationship regarding Surinam Airways?--Jetstreamer Talk 23:51, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello everyone. Regarding the above, I see no other choice than asking for protection again. The discussion with this user has stalled, and no actions have been taken on their part other than keeping reverting without explanations. Thanks.--Jetstreamer Talk 13:38, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

New Turkish Airlines destination to Mazar-i-Sharif

Hello, My change to the Turkish Airlines destinations site adding Mazar-i-Sharif was removed with the explanation that the source that I gave was not reliable, but it's the same source that there is on the Mazar-i-Sharif Airport site stating that Istanbul is going to be a destination from there. I added it again, since I think it's a reliable source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.129.59.220 (talk) 15:44, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

It is not what you think, but what the community says about reliable sources. The reliability of airlineroute.net has been been thoroughly discussed at WT:AIRLINES, and at least is in doubt. I've removed your addition again. You've been warned twice. Another reinstation of the same content with the same source will make your behaviour disruptive.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:48, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
FYI, at the bottom of the airlineroute.net frontpage you can read

All material is copyright of UBM Aviation Routes. Although the best efforts have been taken in collecting and checking the material we can not and do not warrant that the information contained in this product is complete or accurate and does not assume and hereby disclaims liability to any person for any loss of damage caused by errors or omissions.

Clearly, the material hosted there cannot be considered accurate. Wait for an official Turkish Airlines press release for confirmation.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:59, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
Given the fact that the search phrase "airlineroute.net" gives 155 results in Wikipedia, one can argue that this website is indeed considered a reliable source, per WP:EDITCONSENSUS. Besides, the Mazar-i Sharif flights of Turkish Airlines have already been loaded into various flight booking engines. The service will be launched on 15 June 2013, flights depart Istanbul on Wednesdays and Sundays at 00:10, and arrive at Mazar i-Sharif at 06:15, with the return flight hours being 08:00-11:55.--FoxyOrange (talk) 17:04, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure those additions you refer to were made by IPs in most of the cases. Actually, there was no consensus regarding the use of airlineroute.net as a reliable source in the last discussion, so its reliability is still in doubt. The rest of the information you provide me with is great, but we need a reliable source to verify this. Turkish Airlines has not released an official statement regarding the commencement of such flights. Don't you think it's time to raise the matter of reliability for this source again?--Jetstreamer Talk 17:27, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
Feel free to re-open the discussion; I guess it would be best to post your concerns at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard (as it was suggested upon closure of the last discussion). But personally, I do not really care, as I have largely retired from editing airlines&destinations lists (I have issues with WP:NTEMP, because discontinued destinations are just removed, but that's a totally different matter).--FoxyOrange (talk) 18:07, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry if my behaviour was perceived as disruptive, but I'm quite new here in editing in Wikipedia and I still don't know well those precise rules. But besides the source I gave, I consulted other sources as well and I even confirmed that in another site I would have been able to buy a ticket from Istanbul to Mazar-i-Sharif, in a direct flight of Turkish Airlines. Anyway, I'll confirm better the rules about sources reliability in a next time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.129.59.220 (talk) 02:59, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Not to worry. I'll try to find a reliable source for the entry. In the meantime, I'll be at the article's talk page the removal of this entry unless a reliable source is provided. Verifiability is a policy that is tied to a reliable source. I'm sure we'll have a press release from the airline soon.--Jetstreamer Talk 00:27, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Hello Wikifellas! I intended to AfD the article, but I made up my mind and decided to gather some comments regarding the matter. It's clear that the page cannot stay here in its current version. Any thoughts? Thanks.--Jetstreamer Talk 11:58, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Looks like Jim had some thoughts; he's deleted the page. I guess that renders the question above somewhat moot... Yunshui  12:10, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Indeed. Anyway, thanks for your response.--Jetstreamer Talk 12:32, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Aeroflot video

This [|video] was showing either Aeorflot subject that showing their planes standing, running and maintenance facts. But also this video was taken place at major international airport so this video can fit as many as pages as its factual value fits. This video is factual recording of events and real objects in the life so any factual recording must be used as wider as possible to educate people. Orgio89 (talk) 04:02, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Let's put things the way they actually are: you include the video in the article because you are the author of it, not because it has any encyclopedic value. If you want such media to stay in the article, check at least its caption. It's "Aeroflot", and not "Aerflot". This in an encyclopedia, not a blog.--Jetstreamer Talk 10:25, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Airbus Industrie Flight 129

Hello

The qualification "pilot error" is not correct nor acceptable. There was a trial during which Airbus was condemned : http://tempsreel.nouvelobs.com/societe/20010226.OBS1882/proces-du-crash-de-l-a330-de-blagnac.html; This other report clearly states that there was an autopilot error http://www.rvs.uni-bielefeld.de/publications/Incidents/DOCS/ComAndRep/A330-Toulouse/Rapport.html#3.2 . It is always easy for Airbus to say the pilots are at fault to cover the malfunctions of their aircrafts. I hope you can take my comment into account.

I've just noticed that the second reference was already in the article, in the ″External links″ section. IMHO, I don't think the first one adds much.--Jetstreamer Talk 17:55, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Looking for an Airport

Hi - I was trying to find an aviation enthusiast and I stumbled across you. I was discussing the topic of Airports with some other Wikipedians on IRC and it reminded me that my grandfather used to own an Airport in California, USA. I googled it by the name I remembered it being, and couldn't find it. Would you happen to know of any resources I could go to, to find this airport that may have been demolished or renamed?--v/r - TP 02:29, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

I believe the IP range who edited the South African Airways destinations page is a sockpuppet of Jonathan Yip. Surinam Airways again

Hello. We've been through this countless times. I've left messages at the article's talk page regarding the unexplained modifications of the fleet table, with changes not in agreement with the supporting reference. Nobody responded to them. The article has been semi- and fully-protected, and pending changes have also been applied. Nothing worked. I still suspect the author of the IP changes is linked to Nardisoero (talk · contribs), so I even started a sockpuppet investigation. I'm now requiring assistance again as the article is once again vulnerable to this unexplained change. I'm really out of options to prevent these things to keep on happening. What else has to be done to prevent the violation of a basic policy? Thanks in advance.--Jetstreamer Talk 00:36, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

I have semi-protected the article for one month and will watch-list. We can continue to escalate the semi-protection until the unhelpful edits stop. This actually works, so please be patient. -- Dianna (talk) 01:29, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Yes, sorry for not being clear enough. The note 1 in SkyTeam is excatly same as 2, 5 and 7. Is there any way to make note 1 to appear as 1 again rather than 2, as 1 again rather than 5, and as 1 again rather than 7?--Jetstreamer Talk 21:57, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
It's monstrously complicated, but replace {{#tag:ref|Founding member<ref name="SkyTeam history at a glance"/>|group="nb"}} with {{refn|name=first|group=nb|Founding member<ref name="SkyTeam history at a glance" />}} and then you can use {{refn|group=nb|name=first}} to repeat the reference giving you 1. ^ a b Founding member[86]

Please check the Biman talk page immediately. There is a very big mistake in the article. Thanks! -- Ahnaaf (talk) 09:23, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

I'll be checking this soon. Please note that I've reverted ([1], [2]) some of the edits you made to the article, basically the ones to the ″Subsidiaries″ section, as it's highly convenient to have every piece of information written in prose, rather than having bulleted items. I also removed a blog you introduced as a reference ([3]), as the use of this type of sources is discouraged. Separately, do you think it's convenient to have a red link for ″Biman Ground Handling″ in the infobox? Please let me know what you think. Regards.--Jetstreamer Talk 20:16, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi. I think the ground handling link should be in blue. The subsidiaries section should have some information about all the subsidiaries. Please see the Malaysia Airlines subsidiary section. It has a brief overview of all the subsidiaries, and a table. I think we should make a table like that in the Biman page. Biman Flight Catering Service and its ground handling division generates huge profits annually. But first please the Biman talk page, there is a very big error in the article. -- Ahnaaf (talk) 07:20, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for correcting the article! -- Ahnaaf (talk) 11:08, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
Thank you, for pointing out the error.--Jetstreamer Talk 11:17, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

The Original Barnstar
Thank you for your great work on a number of airline articles like Libyan Airlines, Air Algérie and Air Zimbabwe, among others. It's great to see someone who puts such a huge effort in truly improving the overall quality Wikipedia content. I especially like your idea of archiving unused links on the respective talk pages. About the notability of hijackings

Hi Jetstreamer, again thank you for your great contributions. I've noted that you removed several hijacking incidents from the Libyan Airlines article, with the reasoning that as there were neither any fatalities nor aircraft damage (so you have seemed to follow WP:AIRCRASH). But I don't think that an aircrash guideline is applicable to hijackings, because often there is also a political background. Look, I'm currently working on Lufthansa Flight 615. This article does not meet WP:AIRCRASH, either, but I'm pretty sure it's notable (and therefore the incident should also be included in the List of accidents and incidents of Lufthansa). Or would you rather remove it? Here on Wikipedia, a List of aircraft hijackings exists (as well as some related stuff, like List of Cuba–United States aircraft hijackings), but there is nothing like List of minor aviation occurrences. Therefore, consensus seems to be to treat hijackings differently, for example by applying the WP:EVENT guideline to determine their notability. I've just put "better sourcing of the Libyan Airlines hijackings" on my Wikipedia agenda (along with some other ones, especially at LOT Polish Airlines). Would you agree that it's okay to mention such occurrences at the respective airline article once there are better, comprehensive references (even if WP:AIRCRASH is not met)?--FoxyOrange (talk) 16:26, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Mmmm, I see that you're not in agreement with the removal, so I've reinstated the content. You're right, I've followed WP:AIRCRASH, and we need to discuss whether the application of these guidelines are suitable in this context. Clearly, there's no consensus for those entries at Libyan Airlines to be removed, and honestly, it's better to have those entries visible if we raise the matter of hijackings at WT:AIRLINE for future feedback from other editors.--Jetstreamer Talk 17:17, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Sorry for that, but you deleted tons of valuable information, even references that (fortunately) a bot recovered. The article is in bad need of cleanup, but deleting entire sections is not the way of proceeding.--Jetstreamer Talk 11:05, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
The main issue that was raised on the talk page was the repetition of information and the extremely long intro. The info I took out of the opening was all stuff that was repeated in the rest of the article. Jay-W (talk) 13:59, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I understand what you say an appreciate your effort, but having a lead including just a one-line sentence is not appropriate, not to mention, as I said above, the references that you removed. As a sidenote, nothing is said at WP:LEDE that the info included in it should not be repeated in the sections below; actually, the matter is completely the converse. Anyway, thanks for your interest in the article. I've been wathcing it for a long time, but will start to edit it myself in order to carry out the necessary cleanup. If you're interested, just drop me a line here or at the article's talk page.--Jetstreamer Talk 19:35, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Flag carrier

In tables of national flag carrier you put Etihad and Emirates to be flag carriers of UAE[United arab Emirates] and that is not true and correct because Etihad is Flag carrier, Emirates is not!

Emirates is an airline based in Dubai. Etihad Airways is the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates.[2] Established by Royal decree in July 2003 and based in Abu Dhabi, Etihad commenced operations in November 2003.[3] The name derives from the Arabic word for "union" (الإتّحاد al-ittiḥād).[4]

Re: Argentine economic crisis (1999–2002)

The issue is that a depression is much worse than a simple crisis and statistics show that what ocurred in Argentina wasn’t a mere crisis, but a severe downturn, namely a depression. The fact that it was a depression doesn’t exclude it of having been a crisis to some extent, however, the term crisis is very loose and generic so it is necessary to specify, as a deceleration could be tagged as a crisis without not even having occurred a recession.

Definition of a depression is as follows:
  • A decline in real GDP exceeding 10%.
  • A recession lasting 2 or more years.
Argentine economic performance:
  • Only in 2002 it shrank 11%. Overall decline was greater than 20%.
  • The economy’s contraction lasted for 4 years.

Many economists and eminent organizations have called it a "depression", and some even as a "great depression", and it is indisputable that it met the criteria for being a depression:

Argentina Since Default: The IMF and the Depression, Center for Economic and Policy Research

But this approach has failed for more than four years, as the economy remains mired in a depression, with a loss of more than 20 percent of GDP since the last business cycle peak in 1998.

Argentina’s collapse: Scraping through the great depression, The Economist

Argentina: Depression, Revolt and Recovery, James Petras

Between 1998 – 2002, Argentina experienced the worse socio-economic crises in its history. The economy nose-dived from recession to full scale depression, culminating in double digit negative growth in 2001 – 2002.

Ignorance and Influence: U.S. Economists on Argentina’s Depression of 1998-2002, Kurt Schuler

What Can We Learn from the 1998–2002 Depression in Argentina?, United States Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis

Page-1

The economy of Argentina finds itself submerged in a great depression that, even if it began four years ago, deepened after mid 2001 with average quarterly falls of deseasonalized GDP with respect to the previous quarter of 5 percent for the last two quarters of 2001 and the first of 2002. This violent deepening of the recession occurred just at the moment that economic agents, almost universally, became convinced of the impossibility of sustaining the Convertibility Plan. (...) Argentina was the poster child for “Washington consensus” economists and policymakers. Less than three years later, Argentina found itself in an economic depression as severe as any in a moderately industrialized country over the past century. It could secure emergency funding from the IMF only after seemingly endless negotiations.

Page-5

Although it started more slowly than the U.S. Great Depression, the 1974–90 great depression in Argentina lasted longer and resulted in a larger deviation in output from potential as measured by the 2 percent growth path. Figure 2 shows that between 1974 and 1990, real output per working-age person fell by almost 44 percent compared to the 2 percent growth path, with a decline of almost 25 percent in the first decade. Notice that this economic performance was horrible even ignoring the trend—real output per working-age person fell 23 percent, making the period 1974–90 in Argentina a great depression by any reasonable definition. Over the period 1990–98, except for a brief downturn in 1995 associated with the Tequila Crisis, Argentina boomed, with cumulative growth almost 17 percent more than the 2 percent growth path (37 percent ignoring the trend). Starting in 1998, however, Argentina entered yet another great depression, with real output per working-age person falling by more than 29 percent by 2002, compared to the 2 percent growth path (23 percent ignoring the trend). As noted by the Argentine government in the earlier quotation, the decline was particularly severe in 2001 and 2002.

Britain is following Argentina on the road to ruin, The Telegraph

In 1998, Argentina entered what was to become a savage depression.

By the way, the title is not even correct, since the depression began in 1998, not in 1999, as one can see when quarterly data are evaluated, so the title must be changed. Nacho Mailbox18:49, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Flight International

Peace be with you Jetstreamer, how are you doing? I just wanna pop by to inform you on how you could improve your referencing skills, particularly with the magazine Flight International since I can see that you use this resource quite extensively. If you haven't already, I recommend you treat this resource as a journal from now on, and so this would mean that it should be listed under the "Bibliography" section of any article. I suggest you use this referencing format within the article:

Author Year, page number(s). If there is no author, use Flight International.

And use this template, filled out with the relevant details, at the end of the article:

{{Cite journal |title= |url= |magazine=Flight International |date= |issue= |volume= |page= (page range if the article spans multiple pages) |location=London, UK |publisher=Reed Business Information |archiveurl= |archivedate= |issn=0015-3710}}

The issue and volume numbers can be found on the first or second page of that particular edition. For example, this is the first page of the 13 October 1999 edition, and at the top left it says "Number 4698 Volume 156". These are the issue and volume numbers. --Sp33dyphil ©hatontributions 05:45, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Béchar

hi Jetstreamer

about Air Algérie, i know the city Béchar and it called "Béchar" not Béjar in spain . --Houcinovic (talk) 17:38, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Yes, you are right. It's been fixed.--Jetstreamer Talk 00:13, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

Lao Airlines Flight 301

Why is a ref needed in the lede for the flight number? Per WP:LEDE, there shouldn't be refs in the lede, which should be a summary of the article. If you want to use the ref in the article, feel free to extract facts from the source and reference them in the usual way. Will you please revert your edit? Mjroots (talk) 10:29, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

I concur, but there's no need to wipe the source out. You can simply move it to other sections of the article. Flight International is one of the most reliable sources in the aviation industry. Don't you think the reference should stay? If not, you're free to remove it.--Jetstreamer Talk 10:34, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
Agree that Flight International is an excellent source, which I checked when forming the article, but at the time they had nothing to contribute that wasn't already references. Will check the source and see if there's anything new which can be used now. Mjroots (talk) 10:40, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
Managed to find something new from Flight Global . Mjroots (talk) 10:50, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

Uploading Images

Hello, I successfully uploaded the image File:US Airways E175 at MHT.jpg. However, the image has been rotated. Is this because the original image's dimensions were not appropriate? How can I fix this problem? Thanks. Sunnya343 (talk) 23:47, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Have you uploaded it to Commons? If so, you can request a rotation.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:48, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
No, I have not. I can't upload the same file, at least with the same name, onto Commons. So should I still upload the same image, with a different file name, and then request rotation? Sorry, I'm quite new to Wikipedia. Sunnya343 (talk) 23:53, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
No problem, you may ask all the questions you want. I'll be posting a question here on how to rotate your image, as I don't know the way to do that.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:58, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Hello there Wikipedians! Does anyone know how to rotate the image above? The author uploaded it landscape. Thanks in advance.--Jetstreamer Talk 23:58, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi there. I have rotated the image and have also created a version that's not so blue. If the original colours are preferred, the file can be reverted back to there. Cheers, -- Diannaa (talk) 00:18, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, Diannaa. Will notify the uploader.--Jetstreamer Talk 00:34, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

Can you keep an eye on this page? Someone keeps un-disambiguating Tehran, Istanbul, and Moscow (since those cities have more than one airport with passenger service). I have left a message at the IP's talk page. Thanks! Snoozlepet (talk) 02:07, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

PLUNAs CRJ

Hey there, I did some research again and it was my mistake. Cosmo indeed bought them so the information is correct. They just never flew them and tried to lease them out as soon as they got them at the auction. Sorry for any confusion! --84.156.5.176 (talk) 14:32, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

No problem. Glad to see this is solved. --Jetstreamer Talk 14:33, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

re: Air Centrafrique

http://books.google.com/books?id=kEPbRmivj7IC&pg=PA69 talks about a Caravelle plane having been donated by the Pompidou government to Bokassa (for his private use) in late 1970 as a political move to patch up relations. Would this plane have entered in the Air Centrafrique fleet? --Soman (talk) 15:47, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Maybe that's the aircraft that joined the fleet in the late 1970s, as mentioned in the article (four paragraph, last sentence).--Jetstreamer Talk 16:03, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Freixo vs. Freizo

Hi, thanks for the reply...I understand that there has to be a policy, a referencing procedure, but I thought (and that is the principle under I work on Wikipedia) that the truth was the ultimate goal. In this particular case, I assume (correct me please if I am wrong) that you have one source that says Freizo, but there are hundreds of other sources that says Freixo. Are these other sources not good enough for verifiability? Please look at the DETA map route of 1973 (http://macua.blogs.com/moambique_para_todos/2012/07/a-deta-linhas-a%C3%A9reas-de-mo%C3%A7ambique-em-1973.html), an official publication of DETA, and you will see Nova Freixo in there. In my opinion it does not get more official and verifiable than that. Anyway, just an opinion. Keep the good work! Teixant (talk) 08:52, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for bringing this up, Teixant. Yes, I have a book from which I've been extracting all the material used in the recent expansion of the article. I've added a note that I believe will settle the discussion. Nevertheless, I'll ask you to take a look at the first paragraph of the ″Renaming″ section. There appears Moz as a city served in 1995, for which I could not find an article to link to. Can you please take care of that? Cheers.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:10, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
Hi Jetstreamer, I looked at the 1985 publication and there Moz appears after Pemba (in the article you put it in alphabetic order). I believe that the Moz indicates that the destination they are listing is Pemba, Mozambique and not Pemba, Tanzania. They have that kind of disambiguation in the Wikipedia itself for Pemba Airport. Regards. Teixant (talk) 21:09, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Air Centrafrique

 — Crisco 1492 (talk) 08:45, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello there Wikifellas! I've tried to set the counter in my user page for the template above to provide a live count of my edits. Maybe (most likely!) I did something wrong, because neither this version nor this other one seems to be working. The number of edits stood at 28397. It is supposed to provide a live count, right? Thanks in advance for your time. Regards.--Jetstreamer Talk 19:34, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi, Jetstreamer – have you tried taking the userbox out of the boxboxtop template and letting it appear on its own? I did this on my user page and it works okay. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 04:40, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
I think maybe I see what you mean – there is a very different tally on X!'s Edit Counter page than in the user box on my user page. You may need to go directly to the creator of that user box to see what's up. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 05:09, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your response. For the record, I tried to put the template out of the boxboxtop and nothing changed. Will contact the creator.--Jetstreamer Talk 21:38, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
You're very welcome! In addition to X!'s page, which is found at the bottom of our contribution pages, is this global account manager. My edit counts don't jive from one to the other nor to the user box edit count. I wonder which is correct, if any of them? – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 00:54, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
Seems to be working now. At least, the number has increased from 28397 to 28768.--Jetstreamer Talk 17:05, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
I could not see a count; I brought up your user page, even purged it to get a fresh copy, and the userbox still just read "N+ edits". – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 08:05, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
I can see a number at my user page, but when I visit another user's one, it happens exactly the same you describe.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:02, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
Awhile back, when I kept track of my number of edits, I used {{User contrib}}. The count has to be entered manually, so I'd check the X! count and update the number on my user page. Then for some reason, I don't know why, I stopped doing it and rm'd the box from my user page. In case you haven't seen these yet, here are Wikipedia:List of Wikipedians by number of edits and Wikipedia:WikiProject edit counters, a couple of pages I found interesting. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 22:34, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip. I contacted the author of the template that originated the discussion. S(he) will answer soon. At least I hope so...--Jetstreamer Talk 22:47, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Best of good fortune to you, Jetstreamer! I'll close the help me banner for now; if you need it again, just turn it back into a {{Help me}} template. Joys! – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 16:04, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
