Stepping Stone Model School (SSMS) is an English medium co-education school following the academic programme of ICSE(Indian Council For Secondary Education) and ISC (Indian Secondary Council). It is placed in the heart of Alipurduar(Jalpaiguri). It is one of the most famous school in the north eastern region of India and has got students from almost all the states.


Within a short span of time the school has distinguished itself in the field of education because of grand success of its students in board examinations, competitive examinations as well as in the various cultural and sports activities.It has produced great students who got into prestigious engineering and medical institutions like the IITs, NITs, BESU, JU, AIIMS etc.The head of the institution is Chandan Ghosh and Mita Ghosh.Both are highly qualified professionals and famous personalities in this field.Some famous students of the school are Aritra Sen and Manish Agarwal.

Subjects Offered

The basic subjects that are offered are English, Hindi/Bengali, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Geography, and History for ICSE.

In ISC, students can choose among the different streams. i.e, Science, Commerce and Arts. The Science stream consists of Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Computer Science, Maths.The Commerce stream consists of Economics, Commerce, Accounts, Environmental Studies, Organizational behavior etc. Arts consists of History, Geography, Sociology, Environmental science etc.English and Hindi/Bengali are compulsory for students.

The teachers strictly follow the course and preparation for common entrance tests has to be done separately.
