Caveolin-1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CAV1 gene.[5]

Template:PBB Summary

Interactions

Caveolin 1 has been shown to interact with heterotrimeric G proteins,[6] Src tyrosine kinases (Src, Lyn) and H-Ras,[7] cholesterol,[8] TGF beta receptor 1,[9] Endothelial NOS,[10] Androgen receptor,[11] Amyloid precursor protein,[12] Gap junction protein, alpha 1,[13] Nitric oxide synthase 2A,[14] Epidermal growth factor receptor,[15] Endothelin receptor type B,[16] PDGFRB,[17] PDGFRA,[17] PTGS2,[18] TRAF2,[19][20] Estrogen receptor alpha,[21] Caveolin 2,[22][23] PLD2,[24][25] Bruton's tyrosine kinase[26] and SCP2.[27] All these interactions are through a caveolin-scaffolding domain (CSD) within caveolin-1 molecule.[7] Molecules that interact with caveolin-1 contain caveolin-binding motifs (CBM).[28]
