Indian record label T-Series is the most viewed channel on YouTube, receiving over 91 billion views.

This article lists the fifty most-viewed channels on the video platform YouTube.[1][2][3] The most-viewed YouTube channel is T-Series, an Indian record label known for Bollywood music.[1][3][4][5][6] T-Series became the most-viewed YouTube channel on February 16, 2017 and has over 91 billion views as of December 2019. The top 50 most viewed channels have all surpassed 10 billion views. Seventeen channels have surpassed 20 billion views, eight have surpassed 30 billion views, and only three have surpassed 40 billion views. The majority of the most viewed channels primarily upload content in English.[1]

Historical progression of most-viewed channels

The first-created and first-viewed YouTube channel was "Jawed" created on April 23, 2005 by YouTube co-founder Jawed Karim.[59][60] The first YouTube channel to exceed 10 billion views was PewDiePie in September 2015. Since then, 93 channels have exceeded 10 billion views as of November 2019.[61]

T-Series became the most-viewed YouTube channel of 2016,[62][63][64] and exceeded 14 billion views by January 2017.[65] It eventually surpassed PewDiePie to become the most-viewed YouTube channel of all time by February 16, 2017,[66] and currently maintains the lead with over 86 billion views overall. T-Series has also had the most monthly views since 2016,[67][68] and currently receives over 2.8 billion views per month as of May 2019.[69]

Music is the most-viewed program genre on YouTube, across the globe.[62] By 2016, the most-viewed YouTube channels were record labels (e.g. T-Series), YouTubers (e.g. Ryan ToysReview), music stars (e.g. Justin Bieber), and nursery videos (e.g. Little Baby Bum).[70][71]
