The following is a list of artists that were involved with the New Wave movement of the late 1970s and the 1980s. Listed are artists that were described as "New Wave" at some point during this period. Unlike in the United States, in the United Kingdom "New Wave" is defined as a genre that is limited to acts that played a hybrid of punk rock and other styles during the late 1970s and early 1980s. In addition there are acts listed that are more commonly placed within other genres today.
