Notice you'd removed the (United States) from the end since there are no other 506th Infantry Regiments listed, so no disambiguation is required. I'm curious if consistency with the other regimental article titles (502nd Infantry Regiment (United States and 504th Infantry Regiment (United States), for example) is reason enough to leave the unneccesary disambiguation intact. I think it is, as we would otherwise need to go through every such regimental article and change the titles on those without another article of similar name. Interested in your thoughts. --Habap (talk) 13:59, 27 October 2010 (UTC) |

Battle of Phillora
I requested full protection for the page Battle of Phillora a few days ago as I did not wanted to get into edit war with another editor even after providing multiple references. After engaging into discussion with him however, I feel that he is just trying to idle my time. First he insists that all Indian sources should not be used knowing well that mainstream neutral media generally looks at the war as a whole and though the battle was important hardly any reliable neutral source would have covered it. I invited him to add Pakistani sources to make the article neutral, if he finds any, as my search was futile and Pakistani media does not talk about the battle. He does not come up with any Pakistani source but when I come up a highly reliable and neutral source The Cambridge history of India, Volume 6 he begins to argue the main historians whose work has been used lived in the 18th or 19th century and so publisher might have wrote the book it is unreliable. When I made him understand that S.Chand one of the largest publisher and cannot modify the book he still called the source hilarious and unreliable as some historians whose work has been used were dead long before the book was written which according to me would be an insult to the history. This was enough for me and I finally approached WP:RSN as I knew published materials from Cambridge University is reliable and just wanted to be sure. Editors and administrators there conformed that it was reliable. I think I can know proceed to make necessary changes based on the reference as I am not here to get into unimportant discussion to teach people what is a reliable source who do not want to accept and that a publisher is not an author of a book. --UplinkAnsh (talk) 07:59, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

RFC on vandalism sandboxes
As someone who previously participated in the discussion to adopt policy verbiage that is being used as a rationale to delete "vandalism sandboxes", your input would be appreciated on the matter: Wikipedia talk:User pages#Userspace Vandalism Sandboxes. Gigs (talk) 15:10, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Once I finish the article, what images can be added to the article. Jimmie Johnson won the pole position, led the most laps, and won the race. Since he accomplished it, I have no idea what images I can add to the article. Do you have any ideas? Nascar1996 21:46, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Why don't add pictures of drivers who finished in the top five? Wayne Olajuwon chat 22:19, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Removing wikify tags
But I'm a caveman and I'm frightened by your flying machine! Couldn't resist that. Last March I learned from some good advice you gave me about wikifying.
There's a new editor, Markiewp who's doing wikifying from eight in the morning to ten at night. Seems to be doing good work more or less. Some minor things like goes crazy with red links etc. The main problem is s/he removes the wikify tags every time even though the article is far from ready. Two thousand and counting.
People have asked him to stop removing the wikify tags, and I asked him again last night but he doesn't listen. Maybe s/he could use some guidance from a more experienced editor? Slightsmile (talk) 15:36, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
. I'm looking into it; I would be repeating suggestions that have already been given if I commented (this may be a good thing, though). Their contribs give me the sense that they're trying to clear a backlog and not doing everything they can to improve the article. Maybe I could clean up their cleanup and they can learn by example. That's how I gained clue around here. Airplaneman ✈ 23:06, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've been going into his contribs to see what I can do. I do the usual - wl, sections but it's not enough. Sometimes an article is in desperate need but I just can't get into it at the time. I've restored the the tags on six articles. Sometimes he doesn't even do anything and removes the tags. People went through a lot of work to tag these articles for attention. this file is also on commons and is cascaded due to it's high visibility, what is different about the featured article one; it's seen at the top of every featured article and is also is seen on tons of user boxes, and the awesome Wikipedian award and order of the mop awards. Plus is there any real reason for anyone to edit that page anyway? --Inka888 03:09, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- Umm... I'll ask HJ Mitchel for another opinion. Maybe I've misinterpreted the meaning of cascading protection. In any case, I'd be happy to reconsider indefinite full protection. Permalink to section is [1]. Airplaneman ✈ 22:46, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- Cascading protection is protecting any instances of page transclusion so if you protected "Bob" any transclusions of "Bob" are protected based on the protection level of "Bob". —Ғяіᴆaз'§Đøøм • Champagne? • 3:38pm • 05:38, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- If I wasn't clear it basically means that wherever "Bob" is transcluded the page containing the transclusion is protected as well. —Ғяіᴆaз'§Đøøм • Champagne? • 3:41pm • 05:41, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- I just checked WP:CASCADING, and it says, "Cascading protection fully protects a page, and extends that full protection automatically to any page that is transcluded onto the protected page, whether directly or indirectly. This includes templates, images and other media that are hosted on English Wikipedia. Files stored on Commons will not be protected by cascading protection, and need to be temporarily uploaded to English Wikipedia or protected at Commons." So hopefully this satisfies both of you :) Regards, —Ғяіᴆaз'§Đøøм • Champagne? • 3:48pm • 05:48, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- After re-reading the original question and the link you provided, the paragraph of quoted text would be most helpful in your situation. In order to protect a Commons file temp upload it to Wikipedia or protect it at Commons. —Ғяіᴆaз'§Đøøм • Champagne? • 4:01pm • 06:01, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- So as I understand it, full protecting the file with cascading prot. will full protect all pages containing the file, right? That's why I declined it in the first place. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and thanks for the help! Airplaneman ✈ 13:56, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- No, it's the other way around. For example, Template:In the news is cascade protected, which means that Template:ITN-Update, which is transcluded onto it, is automagically fully protected, as are the other templates and the image on there, the image protection being the purpose of the cascading protection. As for the image in question, it's been fully protected since 2009. Cascading protection wouldn't seem to be necessary. Is that what you wanted to know? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:08, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks HJ! That cleared a lot up. Inka actually requested for File:Cscr-featured with shadow.svg to be cascaded (see here); to put the definition of "cascading protection" in my own words, if I cascade-protect this file, will all pages transcluded on this file's page be full-protected as well? Airplaneman ✈ 20:25, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- Nope, anything that is transcluded onto Cscr-featured_with_shadow.svg will be protected but any transclusions of the file won't be, sorry about that I misread the phrase I quoted. Thank God for HJ :) Regards, —Ғяіᴆaз'§Đøøм • Champagne? • 9:50am • 23:50, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- FD seems to have the right idea. If you cascade protected it, the only effect it would have, aside from fully protecting the image (as it is already), would be to protect Template:PD-Open Clipart Library and Template:Pp-template, which are transcluded onto its description page. In other words, it would be more-or-less pointless and would have no effect on any page that happens to have the image transcluded onto it. Request to undelete Groove Distribution wiki page
- importance of Groove Distribution
I'd like to request you reconsider and undelete the Groove Distribution page. Groove Distribution is the largest dance music distributor/importer in North America. It has been around for 10+ years and has outlasted Watts Music, Nemesis, Studio Distribution and Syntax (the other large dance music distributors in the US). TRC still exists but no longer distributes physical music, only doing equipment. Groove Distribution was the first company to import and/or distribute in the US releases by Danger Mouse, Amy Winehouse, Corrine Bailey Rae, Zero 7, Lily Allen, Justice, and many many more. Groove Distribution manufactures and distributes worldwide a host of labels including Prescription, Mathematics, Ample Soul, the first Roots album ("Organix") on DLP and CD and the vinyl for Eighteenth Street Lounge (Thievery Corp's label) and Music For Dreams (Bliss, Banzai Republic, Kenneth Bager). Groove Distribution was the undisputed leading distributor for such dance sub-genres as acid jazz, mashups, broken beat (originally dubbed "house not house"), funky breaks, nujazz, and cosmic/space disco. In the past Groove Distribution distributed Tru Thoughts, Jazzman, G-Stoned, Far Out, Groove Distribution was one of the first (if not the first) major US distributor to sell direct to the public and open the warehouse to the general public. We decided to start a wiki page to give us a place to list all of the above information (and more) along with linking to our many labels and distributor partners worldwide. We ask you to kindly reconsider the deletion based on us not stating our importance. --Dirk <email redacted for cyber-safety purposes (to help deny spambots and the like) Airplaneman ✈ 20:40, 30 September 2010 (UTC)> 184.78.78.248 (talk) 22:42, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hello Dirk. It looks like you have a conflict of interest because you are affiliated with the company. I will be more than happy to restore this article to User:Chuckgrove/Groove Distribution (Chuckgrove (talk · contribs) is your account, correct?) given you can meet the following conditions:
- You give a claim of notability backed with multiple reliable sources (post them here and I'll give them a look if you'd like). Make sure it meets our guidelines for inclusion for companies. If it does not, I'm afraid further work would be a wasted effort, as the page will just be deleted again.
- You keep a neutral point of view
- You make sure the article doesn't come across as spam
- And lastly, that a Conflict of interest tag must be added to the article (see Template:COI). This is just to let people know that someone from your company is a major contributor to the article.
- How does that sound? Airplaneman ✈ 20:40, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
In The Dark (JoJo song)
Considering that you're the admin who handled the deletion request. It may interest you to know that the article was part of a WP:ANI case whereby the creating user had created several such articles before. No one has yet commented on the ANI thread... perhaps you could take a look here? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 23:51, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

There are many ways to promote the project. One of them is to add the project's ad to your userpage. To do this, simply add the code Todo List:

America's Sexiest Girls movie starring Ron Jeremy pg you deleted
Hello, You deleted this page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America's_Sexiest_Girls
as something promotional, but its not. Perhaps it was my mistake just notating all the promo data written about the movie onto th page and I can correct it to what will meet the criteria. But it was all relevant factual data about this movie, and pertinent to the filmography and works for the director (Jennifer abbott)and actors (ron jeremy, too short, g money) involved in the project found dated in 2006. How can I correct this to have it undeleted? Thank you very much, nobelone
- If you think it meets the films notability criteria, and can find multiple reliable references to back up the film's notability, I can restore this page to User:Nobelone/America's Sexiest Girls so you can work on it with less chances of it being tagged for deletion (this is called "userfication"). Notating promo data could be possible copyright infringement if you're copying directly and looks spammy; I'll help in formatting and such if you want to work on this article further. Regards, Airplaneman ✈ 02:21, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- How anyone can see that article as not promotional is beyond me. It started off "RAW!UNCENSORED!AMATEURS!WILD!", which is about as promotional as anything I've ever seen in Wikipedia. I would personally not be willing to userfy it, as I think it falls under the heading of "Material that should not be posted on user pages or subpages in the first place" (quoted from Wikipedia:Userfication#What cannot be userfied) since promotional material is not acceptable anywhere, including userspace. JamesBWatson (talk) 13:59, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hm... so I should not even post the revision and remove the content afterwards? BTW, I'm not seeing much reliable coverage through Google. Maybe this topic isn't fit for Wikipedia. Airplaneman ✈ 21:33, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

I am in the copryright field this and many items do indeed exist. As I explained I simply posted the info found on amazon for the dvd, not intended for promo, but simply posted exactly in order to be accurate. This was my mistake as I did not know not to do this. I was trying to be accurate an unbiased and post the complete accurate details of the dvd, that is notabe for the up and coming directors prior works, also the rappers and ron jeremy notbles who worked on it. Its not my taste or liking but simply posting accurate data found. How can I correct and update movie details, as the other films are listed under ron jeremys filmography right on his wiki page. Thank you for your guidance in posting correctly. (ps i happen to agree on the matter of ew, but the film does exist and should be posted accurately for the involved parties of he projct as its part of their career credits) Thanks Nobelone (talk) 05:53, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- "It's part of their career credits" is not a good reason for having the article. Wikipedia does not exist to give "credits" or to serve the careers of people. To suggest that the article should be there for that reason is to suggest that the article is wanted in order to promote their careers. Wikipedia is not a medium for promotion of anything, including people's careers. A Wikipedia article does not exist in order to serve the interests of the people mentioned in it. Also, the fact that something really does exist is not sufficient to justify an article. Does the subject satisfy Wikipedia's [{WP:NOTE|notability]] criteria? Simply existing does not guarantee that it does. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:17, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Im sorry isnt the point of wikipedia to add correct data? This was added to ron jeremy's filmography list of recent works from 2006 & now its been deleted. Then I just thought I needed to complete the page it linked to this dvd. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Jeremy Now your saying this is not allowed? Im sorry I find this confusing when you see something is missing you add it, then you guys say no? All of this started becuase I put too much info about the dvd not knowing putting exact data I found written was considered propmotional but now even though its legitiate works and data its not permitted I do not understand why? Also why its been removed from ron jeremys page when he did work on it, and hes all over the cover of the dvd? Please help me understand this doesnt make sense to me. Thank you Nobelone (talk) 18:32, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- No, the goal of Wikipedia is to add reliably sourced data, not necessarily the truth or "correct data". It must also be notable. Copying the exact words from another website is considered copyright infringement anyways. Does this help? Airplaneman ✈ 00:17, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
Hi Airplane man, yes I realized I made that mistake and commented back directly to mr watson. Thank you, you are very gracious and helpful in explaining things. Also, I found this link that was going to be tied into this page for the dvd, is it not possible to keep to page still and insure it does not contain copyright material this time? As I have found other third party info that sources it at well as others works I am working to add. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/ce/America'sSexiestGirls.jpg Thank you & ps, thank you for the warm welcome cookies! Triz - request for semi-protect.
Hi Airplaneman. You recently fully protected TRIZ. I'm asking if you would bring that down to semi-protection. You describe in your block message that it was a content dispute. What was actually happening was the reinsertion of large amounts of clearly unsourced, POV material by IPs (two of whom look like the same person, and it's a little suspicious that three Canadian IPs suddenly take an interest all at once, and one after the other...) who appear to have a POV themselves, and who have shown contempt for anyone pointing them to the policies which make the reinsertions bad ones. One of the IPs was blocked after 6RR. There are at least three established editors who agree that the material is highly problematic and we have tried to engage the IPs on the talk page, with little progress, although I had another go a few hours ago. I'm interested in adding at least a few RS, which is what the article singularly lacks. If proper sourcing can be shown, then perhaps the IPs will understand what the problem is with the article (it's not content, but basic principles of wikipedia sourcing). All the best, VsevolodKrolikov (talk) 03:05, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, sounds good. I'll do it now. Regards, Airplaneman ✈ 23:04, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks - I'll start adding stuff later today. The IP editor (using a range of IPs) appears to be a very odd fish. He seems to think citing policy is anti-Semitic. He may also have a COI. I hope a week of semi-protection will be enough. VsevolodKrolikov (talk) 02:29, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- No problem! If vandalism starts up again, warn the user(s) and feel free to re-request protection. Airplaneman ✈ 02:52, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Congratulation
Dear Airplanman, I congratulate you on becoming an administrator. I am not so familiar with the procedures so I apologize for not congratulating you before. I found out about it through some of your archives and users’ comments. Not only that you are diligent, you are a good person and I was so happy to see all the stars you have received; you deserved them all. I don’t write often, but I would like you to know that you cross my mind often and that I appreciate your help in the past very much. Please remember that even if I don’t express it in words I will always remember the good work you did and still are doing. It is obvious that other users admire you and appreciate your work, which fills me with joy. Best regards, Mountlovcen8 (talk) 02:57, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- This has certainly made my day. You didn't have to do this (it isn't procedure!) but it was über-nice of you to do so! Thank you so much for dropping by. Best, Airplaneman ✈ 03:10, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Classical composition guidelines
Hi there Airplaneman! Firstly, well done in your relatively recent RfA. You're seem to be doing a great job as an admin so far! I noticed that you were down as a participant at Compositions task force and knowing how active and knowledgeable you are on the project I wanted to ask you a question. If something in a composition just an obvious fact (for example: it starts in E flat major and modulates to the dominant where the cellos come in etc) which is evident by just looking at a copy of a score, does a reference still need to be cited? Would a score reference/ bar number suffice or would one have to reference it to an analysis done by a musicologist or the like? I was thinking about improving and possibly getting the article on Beethoven's 6th to at least GA status, and in fact was also wondering whether you would be interested in helping - or perhaps you know of someone who might or where I could mention it on the project? Thanks very much for you help in advance. Jay-Sebastos (talk) 17:04, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hello! I actually do not know exactly what to do, so I will have to do further research on the topic when I have a good chunk of time. Off the top of my head, I would think you'd cite a musical score the same as you would a book. I would certainly be interested in helping a bit with the article. I'll try answering this in more detail when I get the time. Best, Airplaneman ✈ 17:26, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hm... I really am not sure. I think your best bet would be to post at the task force's talk page or the help desk. I'll keep an eye out so I may learn something as well :) Airplaneman ✈ 02:40, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Italic titles
I noticed that Forest of Secrets has an italic title, but cannot find how they did it. I searched the wiki-code and couldn't find the italictitle template or the displaytitle. If you could figure out where it is, that'd be great. I think we need to italicise all the book titles. ( I believe it would be Moonrise (Warriors) since we probably don't italicize disambiguators). Brambleclawx 01:53, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- It is italicized by way of Template:Infobox Book (go in there and take a look at the code; the italictitle should be on the first line!). Very clever way of doing it, IMHO. And yes, I remember reading somewhere that there has been consensus to italicize articles that are titles of books. A good link for guidelines would be MOS:TITLE. Airplaneman ✈ 17:10, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- Also just discovered
Infobox book series
. Maybe we need to switch Warriors (novel series) to use that one instead? Brambleclawx 17:52, 3 October 2010 (UTC)- Never mind. We're already using that template. My bad. Brambleclawx 20:04, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)It already does; Template:Infobox Novel series redirects to Infobox book series :). Airplaneman ✈ 20:07, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Airplaneman.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I think you need to calm down and realize that this is a encyclopedia, written by individuals that have what it takes to contribute (which is just about everyone, even you). We're glad to help you out, but you need to take a deep breath and perhaps get a feel for how things are done. My advice: accept help from everyone, not just Airplaneman, stop adding random fragments in talkpage discussions, and stuff. Once again, welcome; this is not meant to discourage you. Finally, please sign your posts with ~~~~ to produce your "signature". Happy editing, THENEWMONO 01:32, 5 October 2010 (UTC) |

Thank you for the action you took on Sierra Club. I was trying my best to welcome and communicate with this new user/IP editor (I think it is one person). However I was having no success. Thanks again. If you have any suggestions about how I could have done better, that would be great. Is there a procedure to get quick help from an admin in a situation like this? Cullen328 (talk) 03:43, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yea, looks like they weren't listening. I see you'd attempted discussion here; maybe you could provide a link to the talk page next time? Also, good response here! As far as I can tell, you the right thing, and I would not have done anything hugely different. As for requesting quick admin help, try an IRC channel such as this and this (the latter I would guess has more people). Noticeboards such as RFPP where you posted usually have responses within a few hours or as quick as a minute; it really depends. Another option would be to contact an admin on their talk page (check their contributions to see if they're online). That's all I can think of right now. Nice to meet you, by the way, and happy editing :) Airplaneman ✈ 22:11, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Suggestions?
Hi Airplaneman, since you've not made any edits on the Simple English Wikipedia recently, I suppose that you've not received my message on your page. I've started editing on the Simple English Wikipedia, but as far as I know, new articles are rare on that wiki, so I need some suggestions on what to do there.
- P.S. Is Huggle or Igloo better? I'm considering to revert vandalism that Cluebot misses, such as this one that I found by chance.
- P.P.S. Is there any way to create links to historic articles like the one above without using the external link markup? Sorry if I've asked too much. I am a violinist ♫ talk to me here! 11:51, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
If you use Windows and feel comfortable installing something on your computer, go for Huggle. Igloo is great as well, but is still under development; I use it, but tried HG and it's more powerful as of right now. If you want to get rid of that arrow in the external link markup, use . As for suggestions, I suggest researching a topic you like and making sure you write in Simple English. Just make sure there isn't complicated grammar and there are no big words, and you should be fine. Oh, and yea, I haven't checked in there for a while. Thanks for the note, and no, you didn't ask too much :). Nice sig, BTW! Happy editing, Airplaneman ✈ 21:49, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, but the Huggle download page says that I need rollback rights to use it, but Twinkle automatically creates a rollback button next to pages, so does that mean I have rollback rights?
- P.S. I thought that Fresh2dethsts was blocked indefinitely for being a vandal-only account, but why doesn't his page or talk page have a 'blocked' template? I am a violinist ♫ talk to me here! 11:01, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, I forgot you needed rollback for HG and GLOO! For Twinkle, the three buttons are just named "revert" - it doesn't actually utilize the rollback feature as far as I know. Since I believe you can be trusted with the revert tool, I will grant it. Please read this message (the first post in the thread) for more rollback info. Template:Rollbackgiven and Template:Rollbackgiven2 also contain good tips. Remember, when in doubt, don't use the rollback button. Undo or discuss instead! And of course, ask questions. Happy vandal-whacking, Airplaneman ✈ 23:21, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
aeroplane (djs band)
Excuse me, please can you re-instate the http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aeroplane_(djs_band)&action=edit&redlink=1
wiki link i wrote for the band aeroplane. Despite your claims they are of ambiguous notoriety, they are in fact a relatively well know band in the dance music community. Their recently released debut album will be notable in many of the end of year round ups.
Once you re-instate this i will be able to reference the claims in the article.

SOCKS!
I've been rollbacking a lot today, and I think I've made someone really mad, so he and most likely, his socks, are vandalizing my pages. I'm not sure how to report socks, so can you help me to do it? - Hmm... all have been blocked now (I finished it up by indefinitely blocking 9 and 10). I've also semi-protected your userpage indefinitely; if you're going to be fighting vandals, you will get hate. If you want it unlocked, just ask. To request page protections, go to Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. I happen to frequent that noticeboard, so if you have any questions about it, I should be able to answer them. For socks, you report them to WP:SPI. Airplaneman ✈ 22:32, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Article that was deleted
I have reworked the article on Widen Enterprises in an effort to remove anything that might come across as advertising and promotion. Is it okay with you if I post the new article so that you can look it over and let me know if it is okay? If there is a better way to get it to you, just let me know. - Hello! I think the best thing to do would be to repost on a subpage of yours in your own userspace: User:Michael Leeman/Widen Enterprises. It can be moved into the main article space later. - A few things: you need a lead (see WP:LEDE) for the article to summarize its content before the sections. See Microsoft for a featured-status (the highest quality on Wikipedia) example of an article on a corporation. Right now, the article goes a bit heavy on the products. You could also say it goes a bit light on the history. So either expand on its history or trim the product sections. Maybe you could even put them together. Defending America for Knowledge and Action
This article is about the 501c3 nonprofit DAFKA, Defending America for KNowledge and Action. While Lee Kaplan is the Executive Director of DAFKA and he did sue (and won a judgment) against Yaman Salahi, a student at UC Berkeley in a case of defamation and tortious business interference, Salahi or a friend has turned the Corporation's Wiki into a whine about how he should not have lost the law suit that has nothing to do with the corporation DAFKA, only his personal dispute with Kaplan. There are two references to articles by Salahi after the lawsuit in which he whines his free speech rights were abridged (they were not as the judge saw no free speech violations and the Lee Kaplan Watch blog was turned over to Kaplan so today it is Lee Kaplan's Blog (see City Media Law Project Kaplan vs. Salahi). There is as much written about Salahi as there is about DAFKA, recent changes to the Wiki page and as mentioned DAFKA is a non-profit corporation. Salahi did not sue DAFKA and entries referring to him do not belong there. In addition, rather than providing information, the site has become a diatribe for Yaman Salahi. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.210.8.116 (talk) 03:44, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

deleted "Jin Zhuo"
Dear Airplaneman, you speedily deleted "Jin Zhuo" article (A7: Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject). Please advise me on what I should have done differently to do it right on the first attempt.
Background: Jin Zhuo was a 3rd c. AD scholar and commentator to whom researchers frequently turn to when they need to find out what the Chinese annals are talking about specifically. We do have on WP an article on 24 Chinese annals [4] which explains the Chinese annalitic system, a number of them recorded the events of the 3rd-4th cc., and Jin Zhuo is one of the ancient historians whose works complement the respective annals. About his prominence testifues that Googling "Jin Zhuo 晉灼" gives 10,400 returns as of right now. Without a WP article, the WP links to Jin Zhuo remain redlinks, and that was my primary motive on creating the article. I also listed two works that contain further scientific bibliography. As I understand, not much is known of him personnaly, but his works are cited by ancient and modern scholars, and in many cases we have his citations only from the works of the Chinese classical historians. I think and hope that retaining a skeleton article on him in WP would allow Chinese editors to enrich the article with additional essential information. Please give them a chance, this is important part of their heritage.
If my explanations does not satisfy you, please advise me on what needs to be done, and move it into my user's userspace. Regards, Barefact (talk) 15:09, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hello. I deleted the article because it did not claim notability. In this post here, you have established his notability (e.g. "his works are cited by ancient and modern scholars, and in many cases we have his citations only from the works of the Chinese classical historians") I am willing to restore the article if you expand it a bit with at least some of the info you have given above (with refs of course). Why have you rejected this deletion?
I have been told on numerous occasions that unless a player within Scotland has played a league or cup game whilst contracted to a club in the SPL or First Division that they cannot be included in Wikipedia.

(copied from User talk:Cunard)
Hello Cunard, I've declined your G6 nomination of User:Power Slave/STITHP because the deletion discussion you linked as a G6 qualifier did not mention this page. The discussion this page is listed at is still ongoing (see here). If I've missed something, please let me know. Otherwise, I think we can wait a week longer before taking action on this page. Regards, Airplaneman ✈ 05:16, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
I tagged this page for deletion per the consensus at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Power Slave/Hidden Barnstar. I initiated an MfD for this page when I didn't know that I had already created one that was closed as delete. I believe that deletion would be uncontroversial per the consensus at the previous MfD. What is your opinion about this? Cunard (talk) 05:17, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm... I don't have a strong opinion on whether it should be deleted. Since the page wasn't explicitly mentioned in the above linked discussion, I'm inclined to just wait another week, just to be safe. I can see where you are coming from with the G6 tagging, though. Airplaneman ✈ 05:21, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I don't mind letting the discussion run for another week. Cunard (talk) 05:23, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

An update from adopt a user
Hi there Airplaneman! You may be wondering, what have I done to sound the alarm this time? Nothing. I'm messaging you in regards to the adopt-a-user program, which currently has a backlog of users wishing to be adopted. This doesn't make much sense, as we have a considerable list of users offer adoption, so there shouldn't be any backlog. I've begun to eliminate this backlog myself through a matching program, but I need your help to make it work. Of course, adoptees and adopters don't have to go through there, but I believe it helps eliminate the backlog because someone is actively matching pairs.
On the list of adopters, I have modified the middle column to say "Interests." It's easier working with other users that have similar interests, so if it's not too much to ask, could you add your interests in the middle column? For example, if I was interested in hurricanes, computers, business, and ... reptiles? I would place those in the middle column. Counter-vandalism and the like can also be included (maintenance should be used as the general term). The more interests, the better, since adoptees can learn more about you and choose the one they feel most comfortable working with. The information about when you're most active and other stuff can go into the "Notes" section to the right.
Finally, I've gone around and asked adoptees (and will in the future) to fill in a short survey so adopters can take the initiative and contact users they feel comfortable working with. We all know that most adoptees just place the adopt me template on their user page and leave it - so it's up to us to approach them and offer adoption. So, please take a look at the survey, adopt those that fit your interests, and maybe watchlist it so you can see the interests of adoptees and adopt one that fits your interests in the future.
Once again, thank you for participating in the adopt-a-user program! If you wish to respond to this post, please message me on my talk page.

Escalante Petrified Forest State Park
Hello, My name is Brad Adkins and I work for Utah State Parks. Escalante Petrified Forest State Park is one of the parks we manage. You have deleted the page I created for this park because of a copyright infringement. Copyright infringement is impossible for two reasons: 1) Utah State Parks does not copyright it's information. 2) The page you are citing, the one we're supposedly infringing upon, is in fact, getting it's information directly from our official website. (refer back to reason #1)
Please respond back to me and let me know that you've re-instated the page I created. Thank you. Brad Adkins Utah State Parks bradadkins@utah.gov bradadkins274@gmail.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bradadkins274 (talk • contribs) 15:33, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

About Jan Šebek
Some months ago, someone created an article about Conor Clifford, and then someone deleted it because he hasn't made his official debut. So, why Jan Šebek, Sam Walker, Jacopo Sala, Aliu Djaló and Jhon Pírez have to have their own articles if they haven't made their official debut in any team? Now, another thing happens, the four first articles that I said violate the copyright rules, as you can see in this links: Jan Sebek, Sam Walker, Jacopo Sala, Aliu Djaló. I'll be waiting for your answer. Archibald Leitch (talk) 19:50, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know why. Airplaneman ✈ 23:23, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- Jan Šebek's article in its current state (the most recent revision as of the timestamp at the end of this post) does not seem to violate copyright rules. (see here for the removal). Remember that WP:G11 applies only if there is no content worth saving. Also, this edit summary was not a good one. I think you know why.
- Same with Sam Walker (removal)
- Same with Aliu Djaló (removal)
- I have deleted Jacopo Sala under WP:G4.

Your input is requested
I have started an RfC on inappropriate userboxes, i.e. those that don't follow the introductory paragraph at WP:UBX:
"A userbox (commonly abbreviated as UBX) is a small colored box ... designed to appear only on a Wikipedian's user page as a communicative notice about the user, in order to directly (or even indirectly) help Wikipedians collaborate more effectively on articles."
How does a userbox about a user's own preferences in regards to what topics on Wikipedia they hate and what type of sexually explicit material they like and actively view help Wikipedians collaborate with one another? Which is the question I am raising.
This introductory paragraph over at WP:UBX contradicts WP:NOTCENSORED so I'd like you to weigh in at WT:UBX, it'll only take 5 minutes of your time. I've sent this message because the topic has not had much community input

User talk:Zbl I suggest you look at the section unblock and look at my suggestion for that VANDAL. Ian (talk) 00:14, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hm... note that the user was blocked over three and a half years ago, so they have probably moved on and won't see your post. Please don't condone socking; it's wrong. I see you're mostly dabbling around in talk pages; maybe try focusing on some article writing or vandal whacking (WP:TWINKLE is an awesome script for all kinds of things including vandal whacking that would be good to install if you haven't yet). Next, patrol recent changes for vandalism (WP:LUPIN helps you find the vandalistic edits) and if you find bad ones, either fix them by cleaning them up, or if it is obvious vandalism, undo them and use twinkle to give the appropriate warning (usually start at level one and then go to two, etc.) WP:RCP is a helpful page, and Mono is a knowledgable user with vandal-fighting experience; ask him if you have any questions. - So does that mean that he's now banned? Just wondering....Ian (talk) 04:52, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- Nope, just blocked. There is a difference (see WP:BLOCK and WP:BAN respectively). Block just means the editor's ability to edit has been taken away. A ban means that a user is not allowed to edit, and it is usually enforced with a block. Airplaneman ✈ 13:58, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Mac issues
Hi, I have two quick questions:
- Are you still using Hiuggle on Mac, and is it reliable and worth the hassle downloading and installing it? (I use 10.6.4 on a variety of new and not so new machines).
- Do you have any idea why New Page Patroller script has suddely stopped functioning 3 days ago?
I'm getting no response from talk or support pages. BTW, Magic Trakpad is an awesome piece of equipment. Wouldn't be wihout it. --Kudpung (talk) 01:22, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Kudpung! I did not have a good experience for Huggle on the Mac. I assume you've seen Wikipedia:Huggle/Wine. Installation was complicated; you have to download Wine and run some commands in the Terminal, but I was ultimately successful in installing Huggle (took a while). Based on my own experience, I would not recommend downloading it. It was slow and choppy and not worth the effort of installation. As of late, I have read on other talk pages that IRC, where Huggle retrieves the recent changes feed, is down a lot. I would recommend Igloo, the next best thing, which is still under development and improving with every update. A good thing about that program is that it is entirely web-based so you don't need to install anything (except a browser).
- As for the NPP script (User:TheJosh/Scripts/NewPagePatrol.js), I'm not sure. It's working for me in Vector. Did you clear your cache? I have no idea whether that will help or not, but it's worth a shot.
- Wish I had the Magic Trackpad, but I can't really justify the purchase, as I have a MacBook Pro with a smaller version of it built in. It is indeed a phenomenal touchpad which makes other computers' feel clunky; I would also struggle without it (or a decent optical mouse). Hope this helps, Airplaneman ✈ 04:07, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

GOCE copy edit drive
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!
The Wikipedia Guild of Copy-Editors invites you to participate in the November 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive, a month-long effort to reduce the backlog of articles that require copy-editing. The drive will begin on 1 November at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on 30 November at 23:59 (UTC). The goal for this drive is to reduce the backlog by 10% (approximately 500 articles). We hope to focus our efforts on the oldest three months (January, February, and March 2009) and the newest three months (September, October, and November 2010) of articles in the queue. Sign-up has already begun at the November drive page, and will be open throughout the drive. If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a message on the drive's talk page. Before you begin copy-editing, please carefully read the instructions on the main drive page. Please make sure that you know how to copy-edit, and be familiar with the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Awards and barnstars A range of barnstars will be awarded to active participants, some of which are exclusive to GOCE drives. More information on awards can be found on the main drive page. Thank you; we look forward to meeting you on the drive! |
ducret school deletion
hello, you've deleted the ducret school of art page. I'm sure your reasons are valid, but the the ducret school's long history, the fact that it's the only private art school left in NJ and the number of legitimate artists, some of whom have hung in the national gallery might- dont you think, give some value to having a ducret page on wikipedia? Please reconsider. if there is some language we should be using that's less self-serving, I'm all ears.
best regards, 98.221.227.19 (talk) 02:31, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hello. I assume you are Paulelwood (talk · contribs), correct? Yes, I deleted the page because it was, as you aptly put it, self-serving. The school does have some coverage so creating an article on it would be fine. What I suggest would be creating a reliably-sourced (numerous third-party sources) article in a user subpage of yours so you can nurture it before it is moved to the article space (sorry if I'm confusing you; see Wikipedia:Namespace for more information). The page's title could be User:Paulelwood/Ducret School. Write it as you would any article, and I can help you adjust it before it's published. How does that sound? Airplaneman ✈ 00:36, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- P.S.: You seem to be associated with the school, which is a possible conflict of interest (as noted on your talk page). Please be careful. Airplaneman ✈ 00:38, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
I find it odd that the creator claims that he has no connection to the company even though his username suggest he does. - I've seen the ads too, and I think I might actually know an executive in the company. Still, some editors want to write about a topic and choose the name of their article as their username, as usually it's a WP:SPA. THEMONO™ 04:28, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

- This is an interesting topic and overall a pretty good start. I have made some revisions (visible here) with edit summaries explaining why I made the changes. As always, please ask if you have questions about the edit summaries. One important aspect that is missing is that there is no mention on why this topic is notable and fit for inclusion on Wikipedia. You need to make a claim of notability that is backed up by a reliable reference. As this is a product, also make sure the content isn't inadvertently advert-like. I know this is a lot, but this will ensure that you have a solid article more than ready for publication into the mainspace. Airplaneman ✈ 22:38, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Ghana Empire
Dear Airplaneman,
Thank you for your message dated 8/9/2010, I only accessed it recently as I had a hiatus from Wikipedia. Re: Ghana Empire, you need to be aware that I'm am of the ancient royal tribes of both The Ancient Ghanaian empire (aka Ouagadougou (french spelling) Wagadugu (English British spelling) and Morocco. Hence my making contributions to the aforementioned page. All too often the Oral traditions of indigenous Africans are disregarded, in favor of international Academic or other verifiable sources.
I would like to thank you and take you up your invitation, to discuss this extensive subject in more detail.
Your quote: "There is very little evidence and that convoluted, that there is any real historical connection between the two".
I respectfully disagree. I added considerable Academic references to the page (see references), which substantiated the contributions made. Please bear in mind we are talking about a living breathing culture and history, of which many (myself included) are proud of.
Our King HM Mohammed VI of Morocco never speaks in public about Morocco's connection with the indigenous culture (Imazighen). Oficcially they are a minority in Morocco. In adition Article 3 of the 1956 edition of our constitution calls us Arabs and Arabophones. In fact 90% of the population are of Amazigh aka Saharan descent (and in certain cases of Mixed Amazigh and exo-African Heritage), whilst 10% are of pure Arab descent. see: Ennaji. M (2007) Multi-Lingualism, Cultural Identity and Education in Morocco, Springer, NY, USA.
Moreover this fact amongst others was suppressed by the former King (the reasons for this well known action (inside africa and diplomatic circles) I would also like to discuss indepth. This lack of knowledge, paved the way for a totalitarian regime to launched military attacks against the riff and Soussi and Western saharans (also of the Soussi and Gnaoua), whilst creating policies of discrimination against our North West and West African Neighbors.
Many Imazighen are fair in complexion because of the pillaging (on account of the Romans, vandals, phoenicians and arabs). Hence in chelha they are called Batoura (Mixed Amazigh and exo-African Heritage). see: Hart, D.M. (2000) Tribe and Society in Rural Morocco, Frank Cass Publishers, USA. The originally are darker in complexion because morocco's history (from tribal and moroccan academic accounts) began when they lived in the Sahara, migrated to the Souus valley and eventually settled in Marrakech (Chelha to mean land of God).

- Hello Abdel,
- I just wanted to clarify that I did not make the post you are responding to, hence my initial confusion upon receiving your message. I only posted the welcome message, and have figured out that the post was made by Beepsie (talk · contribs), as can be seen here. I have moved the section accordingly on your talk page to clarify. I have also formatted the list of references you gave into a bullet format so they can be read easier. Since I have no background knowledge on the subject you are editing, I can primarily offer general editing tips and not tips on specific content. Part of your post here that stood out to me was All too often the Oral traditions of indigenous Africans are disregarded, in favor of international Academic or other verifiable sources. I'm afraid that oral and indigenous traditions will continue to be underrepresented until verifiable sources are found; it looks like you are providing quite a few above, however (yay!) I know this most likely does not fully address your concerns, but I hope it scratches the surface. I have notified Beepsie about this conversation and we'll see what they have to add. Best, Airplaneman ✈ 00:29, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
hey can you fix the single
i noticed on the article "Move That Body" you made it where there can be no more edits. but the song has not internationaly charted. So it is now legit to make the single an official article! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.173.135.8 (talk) 00:59, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hm... so it hasn't internationally charted? Oh, and you're referring to Move That Body (Nelly song), correct? I am hesitant about unprotecting it until it clearly meets the notability standards at WP:NSONG. Airplaneman ✈ 01:07, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- The standard format we use for non-charting singles is extensive coverage from reliable sources. This doesn't really have that. It is not notable until critics and magazine start speaking about it and/or until the artist begins promoting it. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 17:14, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Having a cover or date alone is not notable. We can have that kind of info about dates on the album's page. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 17:15, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response, Lil-unique. I will hold off with unprotection for the time being. Airplaneman ✈ 14:23, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Kevin Bartlett Drummer page deletion
Hi there Airplaneman, I'm wondering if you could help me. I have been trying to write an article about Kevin Bartlett the English drummer, however it keeps getting deleted under the rule that the article does not signify the importance of the individual. My article clearly shows that Mr Bartlett is a recording artist and although may not be mainstream he is notable. His Band Eumeria will be releasing their debut album in the spring of 2011 backed by a major record label. We are trying to get things up and running before then for people who may want to find out a little bit more information.
If you could offer some guidance as to what to do I would really appreciate it.
Many thanks Bartldrum (talk) 01:58, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry to be blunt, but I don't think your (looks like you have a possible conflict of interest with Mr. Bartlett) article will survive for very long if you recreated it for the same reason it has been deleted in the past. If he achieves success once his album is released next year, you could try writing it again, but yea, I'm sorry to say that I don't think his article will last if it is recreated. Regards, Airplaneman ✈ 02:21, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- P.S. If you want to take the time, please list ten or more reliable sources that back up the claims of notability you have made. If you can't find any (or they're deemed unreliable) then I think you should definitely hold off with the article's creation. Airplaneman ✈ 02:23, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

deletion TRANSMEDIA ACTIVISM
Hi Just had a Google alert on transmedia and (as I'm an expert in the field) I was keen to see if I'd meet any new activists via the new Wiki page. But hey, presto! the page is gone. What's the competence criteria for deleting such a page? This is a burgeoning media field, with implications for readers keen to know more about social media strategy to narrative fractals. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.242.181.136 (talk) 15:33, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Transmedia Activism; after the deletion discussion began, the author requested deletion, so I speedily deleted it. I don't think the Wikipedia page is the best place to meet new activists; it's supposed to be an encyclopedic entry. Regards, Airplaneman ✈ 20:10, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Explanation to Latin Liagtures
Actually, I can explain vvhy there is a reason to redirect.
- 1) British spell the vvord "Negro" as "Negroe" (hence the oe is converted to a Latin ligature: "œ".) [1]
- 2) The vvord from "Novus ordo sæclorum" is genitive plural, vvhich is vvritten as seclorum on the dollar bill. SÆCLORUM (includes the Latin ligature "æ") is the etymological origin of seclorum. Is is almost the same as the simplifiation of the British English spelling of "mediæval" into American Englis spelling of "medieval".[2] via http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/saeclorum
序名三「Jyonasan」 TalkStalk 21:42, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- I still don't get how they'd be useful, though. For instance, "Negroe"≠"Negrœ". Airplaneman ✈ 01:48, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Identification Technology Partners, Inc.
Wondering about the reasoning behind the speedy deletion. I never noticed a nom for deletion or chance to defend the article. I was planning on contributing by adding verifiable sources. The company is a key player in the biometrics industry and has developed independent technology that benefits the government's PIV initiative. Thanks! Cmcginni (talk) 03:18, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- I deleted it under WP:A7 after someone tagged it. I've restored it to User:Cmcginni/Identification Technology Partners, Inc. for you to work on. If you have any questions, just ask. Happy editing, Airplaneman ✈ 03:20, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- I contacted some editors to add information so that the page meets the WP:A7 requirements. The logo also now has a Non-free use rationale. All changes were made at User:Cmcginni/Identification Technology Partners, Inc. Is the article able to be restored now? Thanks for your help! Cmcginni (talk) 15:55, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Done—unprotected. The "until "00:00, 28 October 2010 (UTC)"" is the full move-protection, not the level of semi-protection I added onto this. Sandy, I will keep this discussion in mind when handling future TFA protect requests. Thanks again, Airplaneman ✈ 04:14, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Nope, it was perfectly fine :). I think the template just adds it from the semi-protected pages hidden category, since the lock icon doesn't show up if the page isn't actually protected. DumbBOT would've gotten to it later if you hadn't. Airplaneman ✈ 04:21, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- OK, that's what I thought. Thanks! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:29, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
As an aside, WP:NOPRO was changed after a discussion a little while back. It now says that, when considering protection, it should be treated like any other article. Not that I think it's usually implemented that way, or should be, but that's what it says.
Airplaneman, I can understand why you protected it and I don't think it was a particularly rotten call - the article wasn't getting slaughtered, but there was a definite flurry of malicious edits just before you protected it, edits that resembled a lame 4chan attack. Also, I appreciate the restraint on your part (six hours). I cringe whenever I see the TFA being protected for a few days or longer, when a few hours will usually fix the problem. So thanks. --Bongwarrior (talk) 08:59, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Please reinstate The ZEN MULTIVERSE article
The Followers of the Understandable Truisms of the ZEN MULTIVERSE is a small religion looking for new members. We wish to have our basic doctrine returned to Wikipedia in hopes that more people can find out about us. We had planned many more articles to validate ourselves but were saddened to find that we were considered (G1: Patent nonsense, meaningless, or incomprehensible)
We are offended by this terminology.
The fact that the initial article contained references to airplanes was because the prophet Michael drew inspiration from the process of airline travel in planning the future of our religion.
Please re-consider your decision and reinstate the ZEN MULTIVERSE Wikipedia article.
ZENMULTIVERSE (talk) 18:34, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- At the very least, the article would be deleted under WP:A7 and WP:G11. Wikipedia isn't the place to advertise, and I have blocked your username as a violation of our username policy. Please don't be offended; I'm not here to troll. It's a hobby of mine, and it'd be a, extreme waste of my time if I came here to hurt others. I just don't think this subject is eligible for an article here yet. If you have any questions, just ask. Regards, Airplaneman ✈ 20:35, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Reversion on Ranger's Apprentice page
I noticed that an individual had made modifications to the article Ranger's_Apprentice and you reverted it to its previous condition, see link Diff between the versions at question . The individual not only added several notes of interest, but fixed several inaccuracies. I understand that you reverted it because it seemed to add fluff to the article. I am just giving you a heads up that I am going to not revert to the previous changes, but incorporate them into an addition and fixes to the article. I hope the changes that I will make are amiable to you. Jab843 (talk) 03:47, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, that is fine. Since I'm unfamiliar with the plot, I should refrain from reverting in the future. Thank you for letting me know. Airplaneman ✈ 03:49, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Article of the month – Alan Kulwicki, selected as a good article
Alan Dennis Kulwicki (December 14, 1954 – April 1, 1993), nicknamed "Special K" and the "Polish Prince", was an American NASCAR Winston Cup Series (now Sprint Cup Series) racecar driver. He started racing at local short tracks in Wisconsin before moving up to regional stock car touring series. Kulwicki arrived at NASCAR, the highest and most expensive level of stock car racing in the United States, with no sponsor, a limited budget, and only a racecar and a borrowed pickup truck. Despite starting with meager equipment and finances, he earned the 1986 NASCAR Rookie of the Year award over drivers racing for well-funded teams. After Kulwicki won his first race at Phoenix International Raceway, he debuted what would become his trademark "Polish Victory Lap". Kulwicki won the 1992 Winston Cup championship by what was then the closest margin in NASCAR history. He died early in 1993 in a light aircraft accident, and was unable to defend his championship. He has been inducted into numerous racing halls of fame and was named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers. Kulwicki was known for being a perfectionist and doing things his own way. An engineer by trade, his scientific approach to NASCAR racing inspires the way teams are now run. Despite lucrative offers from top car owners, he insisted on driving for his own race team, AK Racing, during most of his NASCAR career. Described by his publicist as "a real hard type of person to get to know", he remained a bachelor throughout his life. Page deleted - why?
You have deleted my page October2003 which I believe I was working on in my page space so that I could continue to improve the quality and content of this page before publishing to Wiki. I would like to know why you have deleted it. Was I building the page in the wrong work area?
You also deleted the page with the reasoning of ambiguous / promotional content. I would like to know how the content for the individual I was writing this page on is any different to the content found out the following http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Arno as I copied the same style of factual content.
Your comments on this would be appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by October2003 (talk • contribs) 14:39, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
506 Infantry Regiment
Notice you'd removed the (United States) from the end since there are no other 506th Infantry Regiments listed, so no disambiguation is required. I'm curious if consistency with the other regimental article titles (502nd Infantry Regiment (United States) and 504th Infantry Regiment (United States), for example) is reason enough to leave the unneccesary disambiguation intact. I think it is, as we would otherwise need to go through every such regimental article and change the titles on those without another article of similar name. Interested in your thoughts. --Habap (talk) 13:59, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
