Dynamic Airways is a charter airline founded in 2010 which operates many regular flights on behalf of other operators. The airline operates several used Boeing 767-200 and formerly McDonnell Douglas MD-88.

History

Dynamic Airways was established by Dynamic Aviation in 2010, it's first aircraft being a McDonnell Douglas MD-88 registered N880DA formerly in service with Midwest Airlines, delivered a year before operations started in 2009. This was quickly followed by the acquisition of another MD-80 a year later, just before the airline officially started operations in early October, 2010 after receiving its Air Operator's Certificate.[1]

On November 2010, the airline started to operate for Direct Air. The company's first aircraft, N880DA, was re-painted in Direct Air livery and leased to Direct Air.[2]

As the airline approached its second year of operations, the first Boeing 767-200 was delivered to the airline, followed by the approval for the second MD-88 to take to the skies. The 767 was formerly owned by Japan Airlines and was 26 years old upon delivery. [citation needed]

Not long after the purchase of the second McDonnell Douglas aircraft, Dynamic Airways announced a three-year partnership flying for Hoda Air Services in South Korea. The deal, which included a McDonnell Douglas MD-88 supported by a full crew was the airline's first in Asia. The airline continued to expand when its first 767 came into service and the second one delivered, which was according to the airline available for 'ACMI wet lease, full charter and corporate shuttle programs for private and government organisations.' On March 2012, Direct Air temporarily suspended its operations and cancelled all charter flights, subsequently filing for bankruptcy. It ceased operations completely shortly after, having founds to have racked up millions of debts. The MD-88 was returned to Dynamic Airways as a result. The third Boeing 767 was delivered to Dynamic Airways on March 6.[4] This 767 entered operations in early 2013.[citation needed]

More 767s were ordered in 2013, bringing the fleet up to 5. after Dynamic Airways announced that its first 767 'would never fly again.'[5]

In May 2013, the airline has started operating more regular flights. It started operating the route Wuhan to Saipan in a contract with Century Travel Company. The flight used a Boeing 767,[6] and a second Boeing 767 was used for a Saipan-Incheon route which would launch in October 2013. The airline has been operating primarily with Boeing 767s, after retiring its fleet of MD-88s.[citation needed]

In the future, the airline is slated to operate within the Japan and China markets.[7]
