The page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valeri_Lilov was deleted in 2010 and protected from creation. Now, it has been updated/reviewed and exists under a different name (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Lilov). How is it possible unprotect the page, so it can be moved to it's original name?

    I typed "Juno" into the search, but id didn't come up with Juno (disambiguation) or the actual disambig page Juno. That makes it hard to get to the disambig page.     Are you referring to the drop-down autosuggestions below the search box before you perform the actual search by pressing Enter or clicking the search icon?     This has frustrated me in the past as well. As disambiguation pages are the "index" for a subject, can't the software be altered to put them at the top of the drop-down? or second if there is a page on the actual subject? Arjayay (talk) 08:23, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    Probably. This conversation may be better at WP:VPT since that's a better place for technical issues. That said, I normally get around such issues by typing the word I'm looking for followed by a left parenthesis, such as Juno (.     And in many articles they take out the link to the disambig page at the top of the article because "anyone that finds this is looking specifically for this".     Hello, Sarma. Your use of the word "profile", and the fact that your account was created today, makes me think you might not be quite familiar with how Wikipedia works. Forgive me if you already understand this, but Wikipedia doesn't have profiles: it has articles. The difference as I see it is that a profile will usually be written by, or with the approval of, the subject. Wikipedia articles do not require the approval of the subject, and sometimes contain things that the subject would not want included (for example, if they have been criticised in the press). On the other hand articles (and especially articles about living people) should be entirely based on reliable published sources and may not contain any promotional languages.     Hello. Some editors often fight off the vandal hordes, as I do repairing pages with citation errors. If I didn't - there would be a large backlog in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting and in Category:Pages with missing references list as in Category:Pages with broken reference names (more than 1500 yesterday). But it is impossible to work it alone. Do you know how to do a "Blitz" (excuse the comparision) to find willing editors to work on it. It is much more easier to repair references if you do it one hour, one day or one week ago after the errors were made instead of months and years after the error was done. Very, very difficult to find these errors.

    Only with WikiBlame Search it is possible to find and repair such errors.

    Chembox

    I have just created an article on a chemical compound, indolyl-3-acryloylglycine, and I can't get the chembox to appear, and I was hoping someone could tell me what I did wrong.     Hi, I've fixed it for you for now; the line | IUPACName = 2-[[(E)-3-(1H-indol-3-yl)prop-2-enoyl]amino]acetic acid has been corrupted, in that the link doesn't feature the required ]] to close it. As I'm not sure what it should say, I've commented it out, but it'll need fixing by someone who knows what it should say, like you.     How to add a title to my article

    Hi, I would like to add a title to my article, but I haven't found a way to do it.

    I tried this: {{PAGENAME TITLE}} but it just added this text to my article.

    No, you don't need to email anything to anyone. I can see from this username's contributions that the draft you are referring to is in the User sandbox - User:GROUP 2 TEAM TIGER/sandbox. You have in fact not submitted it to AFC at all, you merely wrote about doing it. To actually do the submission you need to write {{subst:submit}} on the page - at the top is preferred.     I also looked for User:Duncanmccloud and User:DuncanMcCloud, which are both empty. User:GROUP 2 TEAM TIGER does have something about a South African sweet called tameletjie. Is it one of these pages you are asking about, or the sandbox that Rodger found (the two are pretty much the same)? If not, it would be easier if you told us the URL of the page. If you really want to use the screenshot, upload it to an image hosting site and tell us the URL of that page.

    (after edit conflict)I think that User:DuncanMcCloud is trying to create an article using his user page as a sandbox. However, he didn't do it under that user account, or failed to save the edit. You can email me using the "email this user" function you like, Duncan, but as Roger (Dodger67) there is no need to. Here are some thoughts and info.
    Every page has a name, which is also the title for article pages. A page's name is changed with the Move function. there is no need to insert a template to indicate the name. I advise that you use the Articles for creation process to create a draft of an article and have it reviewed by an experienced editor. Failing that, create a page with a name like User:DuncanMcCloud/Article Name and work on your draft there, and ask an experienced editor to review it if you can, once you have the basic contents in place. So do I then submit my article for review and only after that can my article receive a title?     CS errors caused by ISBN's

    Just wondering if there is a preference or general agreement on fixing CS errors for ISBN... many pages have |isbn=3110134179, 9783110134179 or |isbn=3110134179 |isbn13=9783110134179, both of which cause an error. I am open to suggestions as to how to fix this, maybe with a template change.

    Also, is there a preference or general agreement on which ISBN to list if both 10- and 13-digit numbers are available?

    More accurately, works published prior to 2007 should use the 10-digit version, because that is what such works would have been originally assigned. But it doesn't greatly matter, because there is a one-for-one correspondance. Any ISBN-10 can be uniquely converted to an ISBN-13, and any ISBN-13 (until we run out of 978- numbers, at least) can be uniquely converted to an ISBN-10. But I agree, never list both. However when there are multiple editions of a book, multiple ISBNs might be listed, but surely not in a single citation template. DES (talk) 19:02, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Adding References

    I think that there is a genuine WP:BLP problem here - The article states, with sources, that Big Snake was charged in 2010. And just leaves the statement hanging there. This is far from satisfactory, and I'd suggest that unless a source can be found which tells us the outcome of these charges, we should seriously consider removing the relevant paragraph, per WP:BLPCRIME.     Wikiproject Japan?

    Is there a Japanese wikiproject on English Wikipedia? I need to link EarthStar.jp to a film named "State of Emergency" to prove they are a distributor. I've tried Google Translate with no luck. The film may be called "Last 4" in Japan, according to the IMDB. I don't read Japanese so i'm looking for someone who can or can link the film and distributor above.     Uploading Images

    Hello, I still have a problem with inserting images. I'm doing an article and I have a photo that has been sent to me by the subject of the article, so I do not 'own' the photo but the sender of the photo does. But this person wants me to post his/her photo in the article about them and to put the photo in the public domain.     Strictly speaking, the copyright owner is the photographer, not the subject, unless it was a work-made-for-hire by a phototgrapher who is a regular employee, or the photographer had a contract specifically granting copyright to the subject or the person who commissioned the photo, or the photographer later sold the copyright. None of thse is common, the photographer owns the copyright in most cases. Charmlet is correct that the copyright owner must fill out and send in the consent form, or otherwise publish the photo under a free license (CC-BY-SA or otherwise compatible with Wikipedia).     To summarise the advice above: go to Wikipedia:Permissions#When_permission_is_confirmed. Follow the process in that paragraph to upload the picture, get the copyright holder to send the email confirming permission using the form of words Charmlet mentioned, then put the OTRS pending tag on the image's page, which alerts volunteers to the fact that the permission for this particular image is on its way and reduces the risk of deletion. When the permission has been received and checked, somebody will change the tag on the photo to confirm that it is properly licensed.     Please explain the edit filter

    I still haven't fully understood the exact use of the edit filter. All I do know is, we can use it while looking at recent changes to catch obvious vandalism and unconstructive edits. Besides this, is there anything else I'm not getting? what are its other uses? why are there false positve reports when all it does is tag edits?

    This may have been asked multiple times before, but I've spent considerable amount of time searching for this at the archives and at WP:Edit filter.     Crooklands

    Hi You have Crooklands as being South Lake district. I have been informed by someone who lives in the area that it is known as Crook and not Crooklands.

    There is also a Crooklands area near Clapham in Yorkshire. There is a guest house of the same name. I know this for a fact as a relative named William E Handby who lived 1743 to 1804 has a plaque on his grave stone stating he was the Yeoman of Crooklands. He lived in Ingleton, Bentham and Clapham during his life time.     Hello, Flyingpig. I guess you are referring to the article Crooklands. The references (one of which pointed to a page which has been moved, but I've corrected it to the current location of the page) clearly establish that the place is called "Crooklands". If you can find a reliable published source which says that it is also known as "Crook", you are very welcome to edit the article to add this; but unpublished personal information is not acceptable, because a reader has no way of checking whether or not it is accurate.
    On your second point, a Wikipedia article should be on only one topic. If there is another place called Crooklands, there could be a Wikipedia article on it (there are ways of getting the articles to cross-reference to each other, or to create a disambiguation page which points to each), but as far as I can see today that Crooklands is just a building, not a locality, so there should not be an article unless there is substantial coverage of it in reliable published sources. --ColinFine (talk) 13:05, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Virus on source website

    I am reviewing articles at the Afc, and when I clicked on this link (maybe don't do that now...) http://www.populationofindia.co.in/bihar/kishanganj/bahadurganj/.goabari, my virus checker reported that it had prevented a virus from entering my computer. Unfortunately, the message with the exact name of the virus disappeared before I could record it.     How can people be allowed to lie in Wikipedia? Article 'Charles Towns' belladonna cure

    The informaton in this article is extremely biased, INACCURATE and actually slanderous! Wikipedia, please sort it out - because like it or not, it does reflect back on you, when you allow people to spread lies and misleading articles to be displayed on your pages.     I don't see any information about Belladonna at the article titled Charles Hard Townes, which is the only article about a person named Charles Townes at Wikipedia.     I think the IP could also benefit from a reminder that not everything is a conspiracy or a deliberate agenda. Wikipedia content is provided by regular human volunteers from around the world, and sometimes bad information, promotional language, schizophrenic ramblings, and the words "booger butt" get injected into articles.     Where to find the boxes in a simple biography

    Hi, I'm looking for a simple template that will help me write a simple biography of a living person. I find in most biographies there are standard headings and sub-headings as well as a box on the right-hand side for the photo of the person and his date/place of birth etc. Where do I find or include such a box in the page?     Take a look at Category:People infobox templates, there are many options to choses from depending on what the person concerned is notable for, for example there are infoboxes for actors, politicians, athletes, academics, etc. For the basic layout of a biographical article look to WP:MOSBIO for guidance.     Removing information

    Why is it permitted for people to remove current information from say : an American politician??? And who makes the decision, or is there someone making a decision, to put the info removed, back? I hope you can understand what I'm asking. So, let me give you an example. I looked up Rand Paul a few weeks ago and read about his controversial views on the civil rights. I looked him up the other day, and this information had been removed.     It's permitted to remove info because Wikipedia is the encyclopedia that anyone can edit. If an editor finds something on Wikipedia that they feel doesn't follow Wikipedia's policies, they are free to remove it. The information you mentioned could have been removed for any number of reasons: it could have been unsourced, not written from a neutral point of view or in violation of Wikipedia's Biographies of Living Persons policy.     As it says at the top of our home-page "Welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit." There is no-one "in-charge" but 149 editors have that page on their watchlist, so it is well supervised.
    Having looked at the history of Rand Paul it appears you are mistaken. You said you looked him up a few weeks ago, since when information on his "controversial views on the civil rights" had been removed. Having looked through the page history, there have been a few very minor changes - spelling corrections, links etc. but the only thing that has been removed in the last six months relates to his opinion on the use of drones.
    If you wish to see old versions of the page you can do so by using the "History" tab at the top of that page, which will allow you to access every single version of the page that has ever been available - although I would warn you that there are 1,647 of them.     I was able to confirm that KNET is the call sign of a current radio station in Palestine, TX. But our article says that it was only assigned that designation in 1987. Due to the US Federal government partial shutdown, the cited source is not currently online, so i can't easily confirm this. Was there an earlier station in that town with a callsign of KWET, or not?" That is what I'd like a source for.     Mr. Fischmann is requesting that, to protect his privacy, his personal information, including full name, family information on his grandparents, parents, sister and other sensible information, such as the one related to his etnicity and the fact he comes from a family of inmigrants, be removed from the article.

    Hello all :) I'm back (or thinking of coming back) from a long wiki-break, and am looking to see if there is a way to say find say, unreferenced articles which are about biology? I'd love to work through articles like these, but can't really do it at the moment as I can't find a way of doing this. WP:BIOLOGY has no list of articles or category, and WP:CATSCAN is taking too long/isn't working (probably due to the large size of Category:Articles lacking sources). Thank-you very much.     Hi, does anyone know how to use the parameter named asin-tld for Amazon sites other than the US? I tried "asin-tld" as parameter and "asin-de", but neither works.     If DES is right, the current version of the article is more neutral in point of view. Yours is sanitised, omitting the fact that the movement is widely (not just by former students) regarded as a cult.     Language changed from English

    Hi

    I recently changed my language settings by clicking on the gear icon next to 'Languages' on the leftmost sidebar in the Vector theme, and choosing 'British English' for the display language.

    Ever since then, on a great many[1][2][3][4] Wikipedia pages[5], I get a box popping up on the page saying 'Language changed from English'.

    I am experiencing this in Chrome (v 29, Linux), and Konqueror (v 4.11.1, Linux) but have not tried other browsers or operating systems.

    Has anyone encountered this too, and is there any way to switch this off? (other than reverting my language choice).

    unanswered edit request

    Hi. Over a week ago I made an edit request for the Tyson Apostol article and it still does not appear to have been answered yet. I've been watching the page's history and it seems that one user has made a few small improvements to the article since I made the request, but he doesn't seem to notice the request itself. So, someone knows that the article exists, but doesn't appear to ever watch the article's talk page. The changes that I have requested are not very big and the article itself is only of minor importance, but one of my requests may involve addressing some BLP and citation issues, so I think that making some of these changes are essential. The other recommended changes are just minor touchups to the article. Anyway, is it possible to get someone to take a look at this? I hope I don't appear to be pushy or demanding about this, but I know how important it is to make sure biographical articles are reliable. Thanks for your time.     Undo 2 or more Versions

    In der en.WP gibt es keine Sichtung wie in der de.WP. Z. B. bei Vandalismus gibt es die Möglichkeit des "Rollback" ohne jegliche Zugriffsmöglichkeit bzw. nur mit umständlicher Einsichtnahme in ältere Versionen und Show Changes, wenn ein Benutzer in mehreren Schritten vandaliert hat.

Undo is possible only for the last version, and it allows me to correct the revert. My question: The german Wikipedia has the tool "Rückgängig" for more versions with possibility of correction. The english Wikipedia needs the tool Undo 2 or more Versions. If you will do it, it is very difficult to go in the history to check the last versions, then edit one, click the button "Show changes"... Three or more steps.     @Frze:I think that the equivalent of 'Rückgängig' is 'undo'. (And 'undo' is different from 'revert'(rollback)). 'Undo' allows you to undo multiple revisions and also allows you to correct. To undo: go to history →‎ select the revisions using radio buttons →‎ click 'Compare selected revisions' →‎ click 'undo'.     Yes, Wikid77 is right, though I think they could have been clearer. If I search for "Ann Winterton IED protection vehicle" I find a couple of references that show that she asked a parliamentary question about them, so that fact could go in the article (though on its own it's probably not noteworthy, as MP's ask many questions on many subjects). But I don't find any reliable sources which say that she did more than that (there are several hits on a site called Defence of the Realm, but that appears to be a blog. Blogs are usually not regarded as reliable, because there's no editorial control). If you can find a reliable source which says that she was instrumental in increasing the deployment of vehicles, then you could introduce the information into the article again, with a reference to the source - but you shouldn't use an evaluative term such as 'leading' unless the reliable source says this. I gave you this information as some were Army officers in Hungarian army during war against Prussia.     Pushpin map help plz!

    Hi all,
    I'm currently working on Union of Italian Jewish Communities. The corresponding article in the Italian language Wikipedia - it:Unione delle comunità ebraiche italiane - has a pushpin map locating the towns and cities in Italy that have individual community associations affiliated with the Union. The image File:Italy provincial location map.svg is used across Wikipedias. I've tried my damnedest to import the pushpin map layer code, starting with a single location like Casale Monferrato and its en.wp geo-data, then, erm, starting again with a single location like Casale Monferrato and its en.wp geo-data, but no luck.

    Dear editors: A question at the Teahouse led me to this talk page where several messages have been left for the user about "feedback" It looks as though the messages have been left using a script of some kind, since they all have the same format. However, the link in the section header is to a nonexistent page. Is there a "feedback" page somewhere that this should link to?     It was part of a former feedback system no longer in use. mw:MoodBar#2013 says "February 5: Undeployed from the English Wikipedia". The links worked at the time but special pages (those starting with "Special:") are software-generated with no page history or deletion logs. Special:Log/Kennyzwong confirms the user gave feedback when the system was operational, but that log is the only way I know to currently see anything about the feedback.     I'm not sure if your article is to be in Wikipedia, or outside it, but in both cases the answer is no. Wikipedia is not a reliable source, however, it contains links to third party articles, so you should check the point you are making is covered by these articles, and cite them instead.     The place to discuss the article Eskrima (to which Arnis redirects) would be on Talk:Eskrima. The origins section now cites a source entitles "BRIEF HISTORY of FILIPINO KALI (Arnis, Eskrima)" with a link. I have no idea if this is a Reliable source or not.     I assume you are referring to the edits you have made to our article on the Hague Convention on Parental Responsibility and Protection of Children. I am sorry to have to tell you that the source you are citing cannot be used in the way you propose, regardless of problems with formatting the reference. You are using it to make allegations of a crime - and any such allegations would need to come from a third-party reliable source, rather than a website run by an involved individual. In any case, it is entirely inappropriate to go into details of a single ongoing case in the article, in the way you are doing - in an article covering an international convention of worldwide scope. We clearly cannot cover every case affected by the convention, and even with proper sourcing, there appears to indicate that the case you have included is any more significant than others. Given the fact that the source is entirely unacceptable, and given the lack of any third-party reliable source to indicate any particular significance, I am going to remove the material you have added.     Thank you for your help. There are dozens of media articles about this case including court press releases, but I didn't really know how to handle the siting, I appreciate your guidance on that. I think the case is significant because it's a first for the UK as well as for Russia. Throughout the world this convention has seen very little use to date, but this will change soon. I study abduction law and know that there are dozens of Central Authorities from signatory countries watching this case. I also thought it good for left-behind parents seeking information, the 1980 Convention can't be used with Russia vis a vis most countries, and the few trials have failed.     Protesting Against the Deletion of a Page

    Is there any was to protest against the deletion of a page, so that users can come to an actual consensus concerning it? This admin deleted a page of mine (National Weather Service Norman, Oklahoma), claiming that it was too unimportant a topic, but I disagree, but don't think I have enough authority. I am fairly sure that there are other admins who agree with me though. Before I created this page, an admin, User:Ks0stm, was even planning to create it, as seen on Ks0stm's To-do list, meaning that there is another admin who disagrees with User:Orangemike. Orange Mike claims that no National Weather Service forecast office is important enough to need a page, but the problem is that if you go to the page, List of National Weather Service Weather forecast offices, you can see that there are over twenty other NWS forecast office pages in existence, disproving him. Not only that, but one of those pages, National Weather Service Lincoln, Illinois, even achieved GA class. I hope that I have provided enough evidence that this article needs to be kept, and I just need to find out how to protest its deletion.     You have not created an article. You have created a user account in the name of Muttfish, and then used that account's user page to write some promotional text about your own company, violating both the userpage guidelines and the ones about conflict of interest. The text is unsuitable to move into article space as it is unencyclopaedic, in tone, totally lacking in references and gives no indication of how this company satisfies Wikipedia's requirements on notability. You're also in breach of the rules about usernames because Wikipedia doesn't allow usernames that imply an account that edits on behalf of a company. Sorry to throw so much bad news your way, but you probably want to pick another username if you're going to keep editing, and familiarise yourself with some of the policies I've linked to, particularly the ones about conflict of interest.     Concern regarding another editor

    I have noticed an issue with another user creating a large number of new article-redirects, some which seem to be a COI/bias. I attempted to start a dialog with the person on their talk page, but they blanked it. I do not necessarily feel it is vandalism, but while looking through the other conflict resolution sections I do not feel it fall under any of the noticeboards I have seen.     @Loriendrew: Hi, when you open a discussion on another user's page, and they delete it, it's presumed that they have read it per WP:REMOVED. So if you are earnestly and frequently approaching the editor with concerns that they are deliberately ignoring your good-faith attempts to discuss controversial content, and they choose to not participate in any discussion, you might want to elevate your concerns either to requests for comment/users or to WP:AN/I It's always a bummer when it comes to that, and as long as you bring your "tophat and tails" civility to the process, and your arguments are sound, you might see remedy in the form of community support.     reporting problem with an article WP:International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society

    I am new to Wikipedia. I tried to report a problem with an article by going to the article's talk page as was the recommended procedure on your HELP section. I received no reply, so I am reporting the problem here as is recommended. As I explained on the article's talk page, I really do not want to edit or be involved with editing. I am a medical practitioner and I am much too busy to get involved in drawn-out discussions. For the most part I believe that Wikipedia's medical articles are well-written and informative. However, I could not help but notice inaccuracies in both the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) article and the article on Lyme disease. Firstly, ILADS is a medical society rather than a patient advocacy group. There is a difference in that the members of a medical society are health care practitioners or professionals in careers related to health care. Secondly, both articles are written from a biased point of view. Both articles are biased on the topic of Post Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome (PTLDS) or Chronic Lyme Disease (CLD) -- it really does not matter to me what name you wish to call it. The fact that PTLDS/CLD is a controversial topic is pointed out, but then the article only presents one point of view -- the point of view that persistent infection after antibiotic tratment does not exist. As this is a controversial topic, articles should accurately reflect the controversy -- not just present one point of view. There are peer-reviewed studies representing both sides so why not have your articles reflect this? From 1984 to date there are over 100 peer-reviewed articles that provide evidence that both humans and animals can have persistent infection after antibiotic treatment. It is very irresponsible to not provide up-to-date medical information that reflects the wide range of literature out there. Furthermore, the articles present the NIH and IDSA point of view. It should be noted that on the CDC's website on this topic, while leaning towards the point of view that symptoms related to Lyme disease post-antibiotic treatment are not caused by persistent infection, acknowledges that is is a grey area that needs further study, and I quote: "some health care providers tell patients that these symptoms reflect persistent infection with Borrelia burgdorferi. Recent animal studies have given rise to questions that require further research and clinical studies to determine the cause of PTLDS in humans are ongoing." I have read in Wikipedia's policies that secondary resources published in peer-reviewed journals are considered appropriate medical references. There are some review articles that support the point of view that persistent infection post antibiotic treatment exists. I have noticed in the talk pages on these topics that various editors have tried to make changes. Each time their changes have been removed and not always in a manner that is consitent with Wikipedia's own policies. I notice that you mentioned on the talk page that you are a medical practitioner, but you are not interested in participating in editing. That's fine, (and to be honest, sometimes the rules around here can be intimidating for new users) but maybe a good approach would be to post (again on the Talk Page) a version of a paragraph (for example) that exemplifies the balanced point of view you are suggesting. Obviously presenting reliable sources is crucial to support a perspective different from the one currently being presented in the article. That's my recommendation in a nutshell. I have no experience with medical articles, so I'm sorry that I can't be of more help than to offer general suggestions, perhaps my fellow volunteers can provide you with information more tailored to your expertise and to your objections.     Prior to the Vietnam War, the location of Carrier Division Five moved between several Pacific ports and utilized rotating carriers from the West coast of the U.S. as its flagship. During the Vietnam War, 12 different commanders led Carrier Division Five and Task Force 77 in numerous combat deployments to the Vietnam War zone. Beginning in 1964 Carrier Group Five was permanently deployed to the Western Pacific and dual-hatted CTF 70/77, homeported at Naval Air Station Cubi Point in the Philippines.

    Carrier Division Five became Carrier Group Five on June 30, 1973, and in October, Carrier Group Five arrived in Yokosuka, Japan aboard USS Midway marking the first forward deployment of a complete Carrier Task Group in a Japanese port (the associated Air Wing, CVW-5, moved into Atsugi, Japan this same year). Carrier Group Five shifted its forward deployed location from Cubi Point, Republic of Philippines to Yokosuka in mid-1991. Midway remained in Yokosuka for 18 years and was relieved by USS Independence (CV 6) on September 11, 1991.

    In the lead up to the Gulf War, Rear Admiral Daniel March, Commander, Carrier Group Five, became Commander, Task Force 154 (Battle Force Zulu), part of Naval Forces Central Command. The Task Force led four carriers (USS Midway (CV 41), USS Ranger (CV 61), USS America (CV 66), and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) in the Arabian Sea/Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm.

    On August 11, 1998, USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) relieved Independence as the Carrier Group Five flagship. After the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, DC, on September 11, 2001, the Kitty Hawk Battle Group was ordered to deploy to the Indian Ocean and was later involved in combat missions against the Taliban and Al Qaida in Afghanistan. The ships got underway again in January 2003 with orders to deploy to the Persian Gulf as part of the build-up of military forces in the area in preparation for the war against the regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Kitty Hawk arrived on station late February/early March and from March 20 on, participated in air strikes against targets in Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

    USS George Washington (CVN 73) relieved Kitty Hawk on September 25, 2008. Carrier Group Five was renamed Carrier Strike Group Five October 1, 2004.

    In 2011, Carrier Strike Group Five participated in two Humanitarian Assistance operations, Operation Tomodachi in Japan and support to Thailand during their worst flooding in 50 years.

    Command Structure Commander, Carrier Strike Group 5 is responsible for unit-level training, integrated training, and material readiness for the group’s ships and aviation squadrons. As the only continuously forward deployed carrier strike group, CSG-5 does not stand down when the strike group is in Yokosuka, but instead continues to maintain command responsibilities over deploying Carrier Strike Groups and independently deployed cruises, destroyers, and frigates that operate in the Seventh Fleet operating area. The commander and staff are also responsible for the higher level Task Force 70 duties throughout the year in addition to the CSG-5 duties. The composition of the strike group in immediate proximity of the George Washington varies throughout the year.     Hello, and thank you for your service! The best place to make your suggestions about article content is the specific article's talk page. It is worth noting that in order for these contributions to survive, they must be supported by reliable sources independent of the subject, and cannot contain original research. So while your position as a public affairs officer might provide you with information not easily obtained by the public, we must need to be able to source them beyond your personal observation and interpretation, as all information on Wikipedia must be verifiable. That is, anybody should be able to trot down to a library to start verifying the facts. The article currently has seven references. If you can provide more, and submit them as in-line references, that would be fantastic. If you need any help, I'm happy to answer your questions, as would be any other Wikipedia editor.     citing references

    How do I cite a reference multiple times. I have cited a reference once which appears in the reference list eg Smith,P. (2003)......If I want to cite this again in the article again how do I do it. I type in <rename=smith... but t creates a new reference instead of just putting the number used for smith previously used. Is the problem that I have not defined somehow a name for the first smith paper. If so how do I do that

    Hebrew wikipedia editors racism

    Dear Sirs at Wikipedia worldwide,

    Racism by wikipedia Hebrew entries editors: Lostam, Assayas, Nero Yair and Gilgamesh is done daily!!! Their approach to cut entries of sephardic Jews subjects is obvious, they oppose any edits to add true facts and details. Those editors way of rejecting to accept other users opinion, is unacceptable in the 21st century. They clearly violate the freedom of writing in wikipedia but dictate their mood negatively. Due to their irresponsible acts, that show they are not serious, no one will donate any more to wikipedia not even one cent because of their narrow mind. Another point is that those editors admit they have no clue nor background in many areas that they watch, they decide too fast without using any deep thoughts regarding how the public would benefit from reading entries and learning. Wikipedia has lost donations as a consequence of letting those editors do as they wish instead of controlling them .     I added an article about Prof.Ramazan Sarı, who is one of the famous economist in Turkey. Although I added the article on 29th of August, it is still not published. Actually, it is seen only my Sandbox. I'd like to know whether there are something wrong with this entry?     User:Hmenges/sandbox seems to be mostly not in English, and it is also completely unclear what it is supposed to be an article about, so it is not suitable for inclusion as an article in the English Wikipedia.     I would like to do this by posting an article written by Keith Gordon - for - Seattle Everyday Spirituality Examiner - about a talk given by: Jeremy Rifkin - entitled - The Empathic Civilization / Ross Institure Summer Academy 2010.

    It is a well written article and Jeremy Rifkin's talk is spot on and very pertinent.

    In my mind the most critical thing humanity can be focused on at this time.

    I am trying to help get the following accepted into Wikipedia.

    As far as I can see, you declined the article on the 2nd June with the comments that it had too much “promotional language” and you also asked for more “reliable sources”. For instance you felt that claiming the route to be “great for birding” was promotional, but I see the wording was actually “significant birding” which is surely not the same? But I cannot find further communication after 2nd June and would like to re-ignite this thing!

    Anyway I have also played around with the text a little and have hopefully removed some of the possible offending bits that slipped through the net. PLEASE have a look and let me know if there is anything else I/we need to do. We would so much love to get this in before the end of the month. Here it is:

    The Maloti Drakensberg Route in Southern Africa incorporates two countries, South Africa and Lesotho, within which the Eastern Free State, the Eastern Cape Highlands and the uKhahlamba Drakensberg in KwaZulu-Natal are included. The Maloti Drakensberg Route (MDR) is a registered not-for-profit entity. This has come about due to collaboration between the Department of Tourism, the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation, SAN Parks, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, Tourism Kwa-Zulu Natal, Free State Tourism, Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency, The Maloti Drakensberg Transfrontier Programme and route patrons, N3 Toll Concession and AKTV.

    The Route encompasses a World Heritage Site, namely the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park. It contains the world’s largest outdoor heritage art gallery of over 45,000 images of San Rock Art found at over 2000 sites. The Route has the world’s second highest waterfall, Tugela Falls, which drops 947m. , and Maletsunyane Falls, a single cataract on a tributary of the Orange River in Lesotho, 75 miles (121 km.) southeast of Maseru. With a drop of 630 feet (191 metres), it is one of the world’s highest waterfalls and is important to Lesotho as a tourist attraction. Paleontologists finds include the world’s oldest clutch of dinosaur eggs at Golden Gate Highlands National Park

    On 11 June 2001 the governments of the Kingdom of Lesotho and south Africa signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish the Maloti Drakensberg Transfrontier Conservation and Development Area,which covers about 13,000 sq. kms and includes the uKhahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage Site.

    The area has spectacular scenery and is an important centre of endemism for montane plant species. The mountains, with their highest peak Thaba Ntlenyana rising to 3,482 metres, are home to the world’s largest and most concentrated group of rock paintings in Africa south of the Sahara. There are some 600 known sites containing between 35 – 40,000 individual images painted by the San people over a period of at least 4,000 years. The area is furthermore the most important water catchment area for the people of Lesotho and South Africa.

    The Maloti Drakensberg Route is the only area south of the High Atlas Mountains in north Africa offering commercial snow skiing experiences; the world’s second largest basaltic upland area; Africa’s highest nature reserve accessible by vehicle; over 3,000 species of flora of which 16% are found nowhere else in the world. It hasone of the world’s most significant birding hotspots, some of the world’s most significant and award winning engineering achievements through the Lesotho Highlands Water Project.

    You can request that the members at Articles for Creation look at your content again by clicking on the "resubmit" link on the entry for your page. However, it still seems to need a bit of work to me. The references are low quality, and don't prove notability particularly well.     I have two three comments on the proposed article. First, it ought to start by saying what it is about. Is it a road, or some kind of national park, or what? Second, There's suddenly a paragraph about "Maletsunyane Falls", with no evident relationship to the subject of the article. Third, that paragraph is a copyright violation of this.     Request for unprotection

    The page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valeri_Lilov was deleted in 2010 and protected from creation. Now, it has been updated/reviewed and exists under a different name (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Lilov). How is it possible unprotect the page, so it can be moved to it's original name?
