Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Steve Martin, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. srushe (talk) 09:03, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Lawrence Cheng has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bexample\.com (links: http://www.example.com).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Proposed deletion of Cissy Wang

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Cissy Wang, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 05:45, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Billy Lo

I have nominated Billy Lo, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Billy Lo. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Leehom Wang

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Leehom Wang, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. It is the consensus of experienced editors of the article that it is not appropriate to assign an ethnicity to Leehom Wang without any official statement from him about it. Statements written in the article must be based on facts rather than conjecture. Arsonal (talk) 06:20, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Soangry! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 4 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 329 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Cissy Wang - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Lin Feng-Jiao - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi, I've reverted your edits on the article as shown here. Flag icons are not appropriate for use in the infobox, as stated here, so I removed the PRC flag. The interlanguage links you've added back are mostly wrong ones. For example, 李淵 directs to Emperor Gaozu of Tang on Chinese Wikipedia, while 程煜 and 贾梅婴 direct to non-existent pages. I removed all of them for convenience. The Chinese names of the characters have also been removed as well, because they are not really necessary, especially for the transliterated names of the non-Chinese people. Thanks. _LDS (talk) 04:24, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to have undone all the recent work on this template, reintroducing lots of code which either does nothing (empty span elements, specifying black text for labels which are black already). This isn't productive. What problems did you have with the new version? I'll try to fix them. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 09:59, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As you appear to have been actively editing this week without replying here, I've restored the changes in question. Before reverting again, please let me know what problems you're having. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 13:46, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese naming conventions

Please read WP:NC-ZH#Romanization of names, especially the last part. You moved Chan Ka-kui back to Chan Ka-Kui. Would it make a big difference if the "k" in "kui" is capitalized or not? I don't think so. The guideline above stated that if a Chinese given name is joined by a hyphen (-), the second part should not be capitalized. As for Danny Chan Kwok-kwan, I've stated the reason quite clearly in the rationale for moving the page. Google search results churn out about 200,000 for "Kwok-kwan", but only about 55,000 for "Kwok Kwan". I've moved it in accordance with WP:COMMONNAME. Please stop moving back the pages or else you'll be involved in a move war. Thanks. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 04:52, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Lynn Hung has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:53, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do hope you will be able to write some sourced articles on all those redlinked players. Best wishes, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 23:48, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

China Strike Force

Hello

I have the Deltamac DVD. On the Chinese sections of each soundtrack, the Cantonese soundtrack is dubbed. The Mandarin however, is sync-sound. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chen lung (talkcontribs) 00:49, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But the film was released with the Cantonese soundtrack. --Soangry 02:36, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps it may have been released in Hong Kong with a Cantonese dub for the local audience (can't confirm), but If you listen to both soundtracks, you'll find the Cantonese is dubbed and the actors are speaking Mandarin. It was probably a choice by the producers of the film to film in that language. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chen lung (talkcontribs) 01:33, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to The Myth (TV series). Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 04:19, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of It's Love (film), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.last.fm/music/Jill+Scott/_/It's+Love.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Creating film articles

Hi Soangry! When creating film articles, like you did with What Women Want (2011 film), can you please put {{WikiProject Film}} on the talk page? Nomination of List of Hong Kong celebrities for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of Hong Kong celebrities is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Hong Kong celebrities until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article.

Hi. In On His Majesty's Secret Service, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page On Her Majesty's Secret Service (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Buddy Cops has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The movie has not even started production. There is no assurance that it will be made or be notable, if released.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free media (File:GodofGamblersII.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:GodofGamblersII.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. License tagging for File:PantyhoseHero.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:PantyhoseHero.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Thanks for uploading File:TheYoungMaster.jpg.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We noticed though that when you edited Police Story 2013, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Liu Ye and Weibo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Revived interest in Infernal Affairs

Invitation to participate in the poll for Infernal Affairs.

From your edits for the film Infernal Affairs there is presently a poll taking place on The Departed film Talk page regarding whether you believe a separate subsection should be included for (a) Infernal Affairs as a source for the plot of The Departed film, and/or (b) a second subsection for the recently captured crime figure Whitey Bulger as the source for the character played by Jack Nicholson in the film.

The recent capture of Bulger has revived the question from two years ago of Infernal Affairs from when it did have a separate subsection on The Departed film page which was deleted by User:RepublicanJ, now known as User:OldJ. Invite to visit The Departed Talk page, to the Bulger section at the end of the Page, to participate in the Poll currently taking place. 208.120.96.227 (talk) 10:59, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Constable, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://twitchfilm.com/2013/07/who-needs-words-when-dennis-laws-the-constable-has-plenty-of-guns-and-knives.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:PoliceontheRoadtitle.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:PoliceontheRoadtitle.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 23:37, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:AllYouNeedIsLovej.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on File:Crush1972.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

June 2017

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on The Great Wall (film). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 01:09, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:06, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:HouseofFlyingDaggersSoundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in House of Flying Daggers#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk)

An article you recently created, The Disappearance (1997 TV series), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. 鬼马保镖贼美人

Dear Soangry! Can you make an article about movie 鬼马保镖贼美人 1988? Thank you! --89.110.12.91 (talk) 21:09, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Soangry. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "The Disappearance".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 06:08, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve T.H.E. Professionals

Hello, Soangry,

Thank you for creating T.H.E. Professionals.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Notice

The article T.H.E. Professionals has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable film, nothing found in a WP:BEFORE except blog reviews and film database sites. Seems to fail WP:NFILM.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I Did It My Way moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, I Did It My Way, is not suitable as written to remain published. DIVINE  05:18, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rewriting Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In

Hey Soangry! Based on your editing patterns, I assume you are also a fellow Hong Konger?! I genuinely appreciate your extensive contributions to Hong Kong cinema articles, as you have single-handedly created hundreds of articles over the past decade. Your dedication is truly commendable. I am interested in rewriting Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In into a good article (probably after the film's official release though). Would you be interested in working together on the rewrite?—— Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 11:51, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Haven't heard from you for more than a week, so I guess you are not interested in joining the rewrite. That's totally fine. I will work on the article myself. However, would you mind if I directly usurp the page title with the rewritten version?—Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 09:25, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
