This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of B. M. Gafoor, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.hindu.com/2003/11/14/stories/2003111407960400.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Thanks for uploading File:127HoursCover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:36, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article, specifically 127 Hours (soundtrack), may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads and users who repeatedly upload or misuse non-free images may be blocked from editing. I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the supporting references you added in Prithviraj Sukumaran — I breathed a sigh of relief just now when I saw your latest edit there — and in so many other helpful edits where you have added references or cleaned things up. Reviewer granted

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 15:39, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Karma (story) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no indication of notability, no sources

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Huon (talk) 14:39, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I somehow managed not to actually tag the article for proposed deletion; I've now done so. Huon (talk) 18:14, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to remove the proposed deletion tag from the article (unlike the tag for a full discussion at Articles for Deletion, which should not be removed). If it remains in place for a week, that counts as no one objecting to the article's deletion. I just did a Google Scholar search, and some reviews might be found there. I'm rather busy over the weekend, but if I find the time, I'll try to add some secondary sources to the article and remove the proposed deletion tag myself. Huon (talk) 12:11, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That wasn't me adding the sources, but some anonymous editor. Google Scholar does find quite a lot of rather impressive sources, though. Huon (talk) 08:50, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Couples Retreat Cover.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Cocktail.

[edit]

Cocktail is very much a remake of 'Butterfly on a Wheel'. The Sify review given in referenve there clearly states - " Cocktail is a straightforward rip-off from Mike Barker's Butterfly on a wheel aka Shattered". If you see both the films, you can clearly make out that scenes and dialogues are directly lifted from the original. But it will not make Cocktail any lesser a film :-) Only a few additional scenes are added in Cocktail, like the climax scene and Innocent's part.

Thank you for uploading File:Gadhama filming.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. feydey (talk) 09:06, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Pilots (film), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.subs.to/movie-details/xAkr5aom.

CorenSearchBot (talk) 19:46, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pilots (film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Replaceable fair use File:If I Rise live.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:If I Rise live.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 21:49, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

TN Awards

[edit]

This is why I hate Wikipedia! Within seconds someone who hasn't won anything can become a winner and a winner can turn a loser! What a devastating effect! Look, it's so easy! Some years back some genius added Rahman's name as the winner for Bombay (to be precise on 15 September 2008), ever since, everybody has been looking into wikipedia and writing their articles and lists, referring to this one list. The sources you gave (the second one doesn't open at all) and any source you are going to present me, I bet they all were and would be published after this auspicious day only and they all will be based on wikipedia only and I promise, you won't be able to present a single reliable source prior to this date, which cites Rahman as the winner of this award in 1995! That book is a recent release, you said, didn't you? Of course, it is! Your sources are reliable, but anything I provide will be unreliable, eh? How do you believe will a site published in 1998 look like? Come on, you know the truth as much as I do and the fact that you are jumping, that you have to jump from one to another to another and to another "source" to portray Rahman as the winner itself is proof enough for that. I am really tired of this recurring discussions with people like you and if you are still not convinced and are so keen to add another award to Rahman's already overflowing shelf, please either discuss here or simply do add Rahman's list to the page. Rahman himself wouldn't care a bit about this! Whatever, but thanks a ton! God bless! Johannes003 (talk) 13:31, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Dreams (2000 film)

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Dreams (2000 film). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Dreamz. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Dreamz - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions.

Removing Speedy at Dreams (2000 film)

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Dreams (2000 film), a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 18:28, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Malayalam films

HI. I created the films by Mohan (director) and Kunchacko which you may wish to expand. If you want any more films started let me know; I'd be happy to start all of the missing Malayalam films...♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:15, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou for your reply. Gadhama is excellent work of which you should be proud of. I will help you try to promote it to GA. It certainly looks good enough, although I haven't read it all yet. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:49, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all. As long as it is a reliable source and not a fan site or blog. I am now generating 1960s Malayalam films and will create articles for the lot. User:Tinucherian was going to do it ages ago. I think we should have as good a coverage for Malayalam cinema as Bollywood so I think getting them at least started they can be built up over time and all those red links won't seem so daunting. Just work on articles at our own pace and don't worry about how many need work! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:59, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Problematic sources in Gadhama will be Kerals9.com, India glitz, Metromatinee, Sancinema, Now running, Yentha. The others are reliable I think.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:22, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Arfaz. I'm glad you took over for Vignesh. I appreciate the fixes you have made, however, I cannot pass the article with two pressing issues. Firstly, it is conflicting with consensus on the article page I pointed to you. There is consensus that because he has little certifications he cannot possibly have those sales. Also, I find it impossible to believe that from 2003 to 2010 he has sold 150 million records. Even Mariah Carey didn't sell that much in the 90s, and thats saying a lot.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 00:16, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Collector (film).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

Regarding Kamal Haasan's malayalam films

[edit]

Hi since u r frm Kerala I'd like to know about Kamal Haasan's malayalam films. I want to know abt the storyline of his films like Kanyakumari, yetta madanolsavam ,etc., I suggest you to expand those articles (his malayalam films). ive been searching it for years even many malayalis dont have idea about these films. so if u have idea about these two films feel free to share with me.--Thalapathi 08:09, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ya I want some more detailed info on '"yetta". I have seen that film on internet. But hardly couldn't understand as I dnt knw malayalam. What kind of triangular love story is that. Is it an adult film. Can u elaborate a little more or try to expand the article.--Thalapathi 10:16, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey it seems like you yourself say except madanolsavam others are not worth to watch, even yaetta. Then i ask u why you want those films to be listed in the notable filmography. Anyway we'll have a discussion regarding this later. For now I leave it to you. Those films will not be removed till I discuss with another veteran editor.--Thalapathi 10:23, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

One more doubt is allauddinum arputha vilakkum a direct malayalam film or a dubbed one frm Tamil. I have seen it few times in Tamil. Was it really mades seperately in malayalam. If the it will be Rajini's debut film in malayalam. Also do u have any idea about Garjanai (Rajini starrer).--Thalapathi 10:33, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear, since am a Tamil, I dont have much idea about his malayalam films. I only came to that he has done many films in malayalam just before 3 years. Regarding Aakali Rajyam, he has won a filmfare award and is considered a classic by Telugu audience. Even Telugu legend ANR said films like Aakali Rajyam and Saagara Sangamam are a trendsetter and memorable classics in Telugu cinema. The lits isn't biased towards Telugu because his other two films like Saagara Sangamam and Swathi Muthyam are considered legendary by the critics and he has won Best actor at asian film festival (International level). For no other film even in tamil he has won such recognition at that time. Also none of his malayalam films have won national awards (for films). Ek Duje KE Liye deserves a place but when I added many didn't agree. Even Sadma (Hindi Moondram Pirai)was highly acclaimed and he got nominations for EDKL anf Sadma and even Chchi 420. He has won filmfare awards for Aakali Rajyam, SS and Indrudu Chandrudu. Indrudu Chandrudu truely deserves a place in the list since he has won Nandi awards and filmfare awards for it. It was a high grossing film in 1989. Even Subha Sankalpam deserves a place here, but am not including it. I've never seen Kamal Haasan saying special about his Malayalam films. I read an interview which was published by Daily Thanthi in which he told, I've always had a feeling that inspite of many films in malayalam i din't feel like giving a legendary film like nayagan or SS oveer there. In that aspect Mammooty and Mohanlal are ahead of me. Also He hasn't mentioned anything special about kanyakumari or any other film there. I remember him saying in an interview to Radio One in Chennai that I had to act in few malayalam film earlier since i was left with few offers in tamil at that time. He praises Malayalam films only when he is interviewed by kerala media, which have seen his speech during asianet film awards and Kerala govt. function and also one more function where he participated with Ilaiyaraaja. He said in Daily Thanthi Interview that "I did my full fledged lead role in malayalam (He didn't even mentioned the name as kanyakumari) and a film called vishnu vijayam which was shot withinh 13 days and it ran well. he didn't mentioned about his other films like vayanadan Thampan or Madanolsavam. He also said that my father wasn't happy when i got my first filmfare for malayalam film. He tld that am only 10 percent matured as an actor. If I get it for a Tamil film, I'm 50 percent matured and for a Hindi film im 80 percent matured and for a hollywood film am complete. So it was the main success behind me for getting 4 consecutive filmfare awards in tamil after that. "He speaks more like a Telugu when he speaks to Telugu media. Even Sommakdidhi Sokkakadidhi, a Telugu film deserves a place. It was his second film where he played dual role. It was a run away hit in Andhra and a big hit in Tamil Nadu as well when dubbed into Tamil. So what am saying is if we still say many films deserve a place the list will go on. Regarding Anbe Sivam, it was a highly acclaimed film but he didn't get any award. The film was a poor grosser. Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu, I dont think it deserves a place here, I once tried removing VV but many didn't agree.--Thalapathi 05:02, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I wont agree Yetta might be the first film which gave him a break as romantic hero, Maro Charitra (Original of EDKL) was the his first film which gave him a break as romantic hero which was considered by himself as well as Telugu audience. Also there is one film called called Uyarnthavargal (1977), where he and the heroine (Sujatha) both a deaf-dumb or something like that, a remake of Sanjeev Kumar's film. That was a great film indeed. It was a touching story. One more graet film was Ilamai Oonjaladukirathu and its Telugu remake Vayasu Pilichindi. It too gave him a break as a romantic hero. It not only showcased him as a romatic hero but also his acting skills. --Thalapathi 05:10, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Hey Ram, it was a poor grosser and controversial yet it got rave reviews. It was India's official entry to oscars. So it definitely becomes a notable film. It was also screened at International Film Festivals at Rotterdam, International Film Festival of India and at Locarno International Film Festival. Kamal Haasan also got awards from FIlmfare, Filmfans and Cinema Express. --Thalapathi 06:50, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This debate about what movies should be selected for "notable filmography" lists sounds interesting enough that I've brought it up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force. Please share your thoughts there. EelamStyleZ (talk) 14:02, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Well I need some details on the cast of that film atleast. Other than Ilaiyaraaja and Devaraj Mohan nothing great is mentioned there. --Thalapathi (Ping Back) 10:15, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A debate is going on Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Film/Indian_cinema_task_force so as to ensure what films must be listed under notable filmography. Also another debate, who gets credited for a film if it gets an award (directors or producers). Do participate. --Thalapathi (Ping Back) 10:22, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I dont have a clear idea on Uravadum Nenjam. The link you provided says, its a 1976 Tamil film starring Jaishankar and Telugu actress Chandrakala. I've never heard about this film. Also I have a doubt whether Allauddinum Arputha Vilakkum was made seperately in Malayalam and Tamil or a Tamil film dubbed into Malayalam. I have seen that film during my childhood. Watching the lip movement of the actors it was clear that it wasn't dubbed from malayalam, and its a pure tamil film. But still many sources say its a bi-lingual and others say its a mallu film dubbed into Tamil. According to rajini fans' website. It says it was Rajini's debut malayalam film released on apr 14, 1979 while the tamil version was released on jun 8, 1979. --Thalapathi (Ping Back) 10:42, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also Devaraj Mohan refers to two persons or a single person. Am not sure abt the details of the director. Is he a mallu director who has made films in Tamil too or a both are different. --Thalapathi (Ping Back) 10:56, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vaazhve Maayam

[edit]

Are you sure vaazhve Maayam is a remake of the malayalam film with the same title. To my knowledge it's a remake of the 1981 Telugu film Premabhishekam --Thalapathi (Ping Back) 11:26, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well that's great!! Infact vaazhvey Maayam (Malayalm version) was remade in Telugu and Tamil. Do you know who played the role of Sridevi and Sripriya role in Malayalam?? --Thalapathi (Ping Back) 13:57, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well I'm surprised after reading the story of the Malayalam version. I'd definitely say the plot of the two movies are no where related to each other. The Tamil version is a remake of the Telugu film Premabhishekam, starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sridevi and Jayasudha. It was released in 1981. The Tamil version was released in 1982. The role of 28 year old Kamal Haasan was played by the 58 year old Nageswara Rao in Telugu. Not sure about the director, music was by Gangai Amaran. The story goes like this: Kamal Haasan, a happy-go-lucky guy falls in love with sridevi, a girl from a rich family. He tries all sorts of tricks to woo her. But Sridevi not impressed by Kamal, doesn't take his seriously. Meanwhile, her brother (Jaishankar) arranges a marriage with other person. Disastrous Kamal, becomes a heavy alcoholic, and finds solace in Sripriya, a prostitute. Finally he also gets to know that he is affected by cancer. Sridevi comes to know about his true love and comes to see him at Sripriya's residence. But Kamal, rejects her love and dies on the lap of Sripriya. A tragic love story. The telugu version was a super hit, while the Tamil version wasn't much impressive as the Telugu version. --Thalapathi (Ping Back) 05:27, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I like to draw your attention and seek your help on the name of these 2 articles on malayalam films. These films are Arimpara and Pattiyude Divasam respectively. These films were screened in Cannes and just for promotional purposes, English titles as above were used. But these films were never dubbed and shown in English, nor any English versions of these fims exist. I moved these films to its original titles but got reverted by another person citing WP:NCF and WP:UE ( Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film#A Dog's Day. But I strongly feel these rules will not be applicable here as these films are purely Malayalam and the english name was only for the foreign award festivals. If we continue this all our famous and prestigious films that got screened outside with alternate titles will get renamed in Wiki like Veetilekkulla Vazhi (The Way Home), Makaramanju (the Mist in Capricorn) etc. Even films like Urumi, Chithrasoothram, Naalu Pennungal, Oru Pennum Randanum (A Woman and Two Men) etc. etc. will then will get moved. In that cases our films will lose its identity in Wiki. I remeber you changing The Mother Earth back to Bhoomi Mlayalam. I request you to please check the above films also and give the proper film names to those articles and explain it there.

Marykkundoru Kunjaadu

[edit]

Hello, Is there an English caption 'Mary had a little lamb' used in the film ? If so, I agree. If not, 'Marykkundoru Kunjaadu' will translate to 'Mary has a little lamb' only. You know the original nursery rhyme is written in past tense. So, there it is correct. But when it was translated to Malyalam it was written in present tense. So in Malyalam text books it is 'Marykkundoru Kunjaadu'. But 'undu' is present tense and thus cannot be translated as 'had', it can only be 'has' or 'have'. Just see, if you correctly translate 'Mary had a little lamb' to Malayalam, it will be 'Marykkundayirunnu oru Kunjaadu'.
Anish Viswa 22:52, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

'Mary had a little lamb' sounds better because that nursery rhyme is very familiar to all of us from childhood. But here it is grammatically incorrect. That's all :-)

For future reference, an article should not be nominated for GA when it has cleanup tags. If someone were to review the Adaminte Makan Abu article right now, they would be able to quick-fail it. GAN is not a place to nominate articles that need work to bring them up to the GA standard, they should already meet the criteria. Peer review is the place to ask for feedback on how an article can be further improved. You can withdraw the GAN for Adaminte Makan Abu by removing the {{GA nominee}} template from the article talk page. Hi, I'm currently copy-editing Elektra (2011 film) as you requested at the Guild of Copy-editors. However, I am concerned that the article contains very close paraphrasing from copyrighted websites.

One specific example; from Wikipedia's article Elektra (2011 film):

"...Erakal, which tells the story of a wealthy, aristocratic, land-owning Christian family's descent into evil and the twin threads of revenge and remorse."

From the cited source:

"...‘Erakal,' which tells the story of a wealthy, aristocratic, land-owning Christian family's descent into evil and the twin threads of revenge and remorse..."

You cannot copy and paste text directly from copyrighted sources in this manner, even if you cite the website that the text comes from as a source. Please see WP:COPYVIO, Let's get serious about plagiarism, and Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing for more details.

  • Are there more sections in the Elektra article that use entire phrases from the cited source in this way?
  • Are there sections in other articles you have written or contributed to, that do so? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 10:49, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Film directors mentioned in the film

Hii this is regarding - cinema of India, directors like K. viswanath and K. Balachander. The statement is trying to give info about Indian film makers whose films were admired and screened at International film festivals from different regions. This statement can be completely avoided and can be included in individual articles. The statement is not trying to provide names of internationally acclaimed film directors. There is no point of vandalism in this.

Replaceable fair use File:Chintha Ravi.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chintha Ravi.jpg.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Megastar Mammootty, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Commander (Ping Me) 10:12, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Kadhal Anukkal.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Kadhal Anukkal.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —SpacemanSpiff 21:49, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Judgement Day (2012 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There is no project like this.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Non-free rationale for File:Pranchistill.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Pranchistill.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. A tag has been placed on File:Anupamasinger2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 12:05, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Viddikalude Swargam has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable collection. No refs. No claim of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sreejith K (talk) 16:45, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Irshad (actor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability, no significant coverage in third-party sources, verifiability issues.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The article S. Balakrishnan (composer) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. File source problem with File:Balanfilm.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Balanfilm.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article A. R. Rahman – A World of Music has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Just a compilation album, nothing original and no claims of notability, fails WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 04:06, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:C.I.D. (1956).png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Kokers Films moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Kokers Films, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Notice

The article Chungakkarum Veshyakalum has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails to meet WP:GNG and WP:NFILM.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
